But Yahweh hardened Pharaoh’s heart, and he wouldn’t let them go.

εσκληρυνεν δε κυριος την καρδιαν φαραω και ουκ εβουληθη εξαποστειλαι αυτους

Pharaoh said to him, “Get away from me! Be careful to see my face no more; for in the day you see my face you shall die!”

Yahweh said to Moses, “I will bring yet one more plague on Pharaoh, and on Egypt; afterwards he will let you go. When he lets you go, he will surely thrust you out altogether.

ειπεν δε κυριος προς μωυσην ετι μιαν πληγην επαξω επι φαραω και επ αιγυπτον και μετα ταυτα εξαποστελει υμας εντευθεν οταν δε εξαποστελλη υμας συν παντι εκβαλει υμας εκβολη

Yahweh gave the people favor in the sight of the Egyptians. Moreover, the man Moses was very great in the land of Egypt, in the sight of Pharaoh’s servants, and in the sight of the people.

Yahweh said to Moses, “Pharaoh won’t listen to you, that my wonders may be multiplied in the land of Egypt.”

Pharaoh will say of the children of Israel, ‘They are entangled in the land. The wilderness has shut them in.’

I will harden Pharaoh’s heart, and he will follow after them; and I will get honor over Pharaoh, and over all his armies; and the Egyptians shall know that I am Yahweh.” They did so.

The king of Egypt was told that the people had fled; and the heart of Pharaoh and of his servants was changed toward the people, and they said, “What is this we have done, that we have let Israel go from serving us?”

The Egyptians pursued, and went in after them into the middle of the sea: all of Pharaoh’s horses, his chariots, and his horsemen.

And the Egyptians H4714 pursued, H7291 (QalImpf) and went in H935 (QalImpf) after H310 them to the midst H8432 of the sea, H3220 even all Pharaoh’s H6547 horses, H5483 his chariots, H7393 and his horsemen. H6571

The waters returned, and covered the chariots and the horsemen, even all Pharaoh’s army that went in after them into the sea. There remained not so much as one of them.

οτι εισηλθεν ιππος φαραω συν αρμασιν και αναβαταις εις θαλασσαν και επηγαγεν επ αυτους κυριος το υδωρ της θαλασσης οι δε υιοι ισραηλ επορευθησαν δια ξηρας εν μεσω της θαλασσης

The name of the other was Eliezer,° for he said, “My father’s God was my help and delivered me from Pharaoh’s sword.”

Exodus 18:4 Eliezer means “God is my helper”.

Why then do you harden your hearts as the Egyptians and Pharaoh hardened their hearts? When he had worked wonderfully among them, didn’t they let the people go, and they departed?

Solomon made a marriage alliance with Pharaoh king of Egypt. He took Pharaoh’s daughter and brought her into David’s city until he had finished building his own house, Yahweh’s house, and the wall around Jerusalem.

And Solomon H8010 made affinity H2859 (HithImpf) with Pharaoh H6547 king H4428 of Egypt, H4714 and took H3947 (QalImpf) Pharaoh’s H6547 daughter, H1323 and brought H935 (HiphImpf) her into the city H5892 of David, H1732 until he had made an end H3615 (PielInf) of building H1129 (QalInf) his own house, H1004 and the house H1004 of the Lord, H3068 and the wall H2346 of Jerusalem H3389 round about. His house where he was to dwell, the other court within the porch, was of the same construction. He made also a house for Pharaoh’s daughter (whom Solomon had taken as wife), like this porch.

And his house H1004 where he dwelt H3427 (QalImpf) had another H312 court H2691 within H1004 the porch, H197 which was of the like work. Pharaoh king of Egypt had gone up, taken Gezer, burned it with fire, killed the Canaanites who lived in the city, and given it for a wedding gift to his daughter, Solomon’s wife.

But Pharaoh’s daughter came up out of David’s city to her house which Solomon had built for her. Then he built Millo.

But Pharaoh’s H6547 daughter H1323 came up H5927 (QalPerf) out of the city H5892 of David H1732 unto her house H1004 which Solomon had built H1129 (QalPerf) for her: then did he build H1129 (QalPerf) Millo. H4407

Then Pharaoh said to him, “But what have you lacked with me, that behold, you seek to go to your own country?” He answered, “Nothing, however only let me depart.”

Now, behold, you trust in the staff of this bruised reed, even in Egypt. If a man leans on it, it will go into his hand and pierce it. So is Pharaoh king of Egypt to all who trust on him.

Jehoiakim gave the silver and the gold to Pharaoh; but he taxed the land to give the money according to the commandment of Pharaoh. He exacted the silver and the gold of the people of the land, from everyone according to his assessment, to give it to Pharaoh Necoh.
