και επιστευσεν αβραμ τω θεω και ελογισθη αυτω εις δικαιοσυνην

Bring your youngest brother to me; so will your words be verified, and you won’t die.” They did so.

They told him, saying, “Joseph is still alive, and he is ruler over all the land of Egypt.” His heart fainted, for he didn’t believe them.

και ανηγγειλαν αυτω λεγοντες οτι ο υιος σου ιωσηφ ζη και αυτος αρχει πασης γης αιγυπτου και εξεστη η διανοια ιακωβ ου γαρ επιστευσεν αυτοις

Moses answered, “But, behold, they will not believe me, nor listen to my voice; for they will say, ‘Yahweh has not appeared to you.’ ”

απεκριθη δε μωυσης και ειπεν εαν ουν μη πιστευσωσιν μοι μηδε εισακουσωσιν της φωνης μου ερουσιν γαρ οτι ουκ ωπται σοι ο θεος τι ερω προς αυτους

“This is so that they may believe that Yahweh, the God of their fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, has appeared to you.”

That they may believe H539 (HiphImpf) that the Lord H3068 God H430 of their fathers, H1 the God H430 of Abraham, H85 the God H430 of Isaac, H3327 and the God H430 of Jacob, H3290 hath appeared H7200 (NiphPerf) unto thee.

ινα πιστευσωσιν σοι οτι ωπται σοι κυριος ο θεος των πατερων αυτων θεος αβρααμ και θεος ισαακ και θεος ιακωβ

“It will happen, if they will not believe you or listen to the voice of the first sign, that they will believe the voice of the latter sign.

And it shall come to pass, if they will not believe H539 (HiphImpf) thee, neither hearken H8085 (QalImpf) to the voice H6963 of the first H7223 sign, H226 that they will believe H539 (HiphPerf) the voice H6963 of the latter H314 sign. H226

εαν δε μη πιστευσωσιν σοι μηδε εισακουσωσιν της φωνης του σημειου του πρωτου πιστευσουσιν σοι της φωνης του σημειου του εσχατου

It will happen, if they will not believe even these two signs or listen to your voice, that you shall take of the water of the river, and pour it on the dry land. The water which you take out of the river will become blood on the dry land.”

και εσται εαν μη πιστευσωσιν σοι τοις δυσι σημειοις τουτοις μηδε εισακουσωσιν της φωνης σου λημψη απο του υδατος του ποταμου και εκχεεις επι το ξηρον και εσται το υδωρ ο εαν λαβης απο του ποταμου αιμα επι του ξηρου

The people believed, and when they heard that Yahweh had visited the children of Israel, and that he had seen their affliction, then they bowed their heads and worshiped.

And the people H5971 believed: H539 (HiphImpf) and when they heard H8085 (QalImpf) that the Lord H3068 had visited H6485 (QalPerf) the children H1121 of Israel, H3478 and that he had looked H7200 (QalPerf) upon their affliction, H6040 then they bowed their heads H6915 (QalImpf) and worshipped. και επιστευσεν ο λαος και εχαρη οτι επεσκεψατο ο θεος τους υιους ισραηλ και οτι ειδεν αυτων την θλιψιν κυψας δε ο λαος προσεκυνησεν

Israel saw the great work which Yahweh did to the Egyptians, and the people feared Yahweh; and they believed in Yahweh and in his servant Moses.

ειδεν δε ισραηλ την χειρα την μεγαλην α εποιησεν κυριος τοις αιγυπτιοις εφοβηθη δε ο λαος τον κυριον και επιστευσαν τω θεω και μωυση τω θεραποντι αυτου

Yahweh said to Moses, “Behold, I come to you in a thick cloud, that the people may hear when I speak with you, and may also believe you forever.” Moses told the words of the people to Yahweh.

And the Lord H3068 said H559 (QalImpf) unto Moses, H4872 Lo, I come H935 (QalActPtc) unto thee in a thick H5645 cloud, H6051 that the people H5971 may hear H8085 (QalImpf) when I speak H1696 (PielInf) with thee, and believe H539 (HiphImpf) thee for ever. ειπεν δε κυριος προς μωυσην ιδου εγω παραγινομαι προς σε εν στυλω νεφελης ινα ακουση ο λαος λαλουντος μου προς σε και σοι πιστευσωσιν εις τον αιωνα ανηγγειλεν δε μωυσης τα ρηματα του λαου προς κυριον

μη εγω εν γαστρι ελαβον παντα τον λαον τουτον η εγω ετεκον αυτους οτι λεγεις μοι λαβε αυτον εις τον κολπον σου ωσει αραι τιθηνος τον θηλαζοντα εις την γην ην ωμοσας τοις πατρασιν αυτων

My servant Moses is not so. He is faithful in all my house.

ουχ ουτως ο θεραπων μου μωυσης εν ολω τω οικω μου πιστος εστιν

Yahweh said to Moses, “How long will this people despise me? How long will they not believe in me, for all the signs which I have worked among them?

And the Lord H3068 said H559 (QalImpf) unto Moses, H4872 How long will this people H5971 provoke H5006 (PielImpf) me? and how long will it be ere H3808 they believe H539 (HiphImpf) me, for all the signs H226 which I have shewed H6213 (QalPerf) among H7130 them?

και ειπεν κυριος προς μωυσην εως τινος παροξυνει με ο λαος ουτος και εως τινος ου πιστευουσιν μοι εν πασιν τοις σημειοις οις εποιησα εν αυτοις

Yahweh said to Moses and Aaron, “Because you didn’t believe in me, to sanctify me in the eyes of the children of Israel, therefore you shall not bring this assembly into the land which I have given them.”

και ειπεν κυριος προς μωυσην και ααρων οτι ουκ επιστευσατε αγιασαι με εναντιον υιων ισραηλ δια τουτο ουκ εισαξετε υμεις την συναγωγην ταυτην εις την γην ην δεδωκα αυτοις

Yet in this thing you didn’t believe Yahweh your God,

και εν τω λογω τουτω ουκ ενεπιστευσατε κυριω τω θεω υμων

Know therefore that Yahweh your God himself is God, the faithful God, who keeps covenant and loving kindness to a thousand generations with those who love him and keep his commandments,

και γνωση οτι κυριος ο θεος σου ουτος θεος θεος πιστος ο φυλασσων διαθηκην και ελεος τοις αγαπωσιν αυτον και τοις φυλασσουσιν τας εντολας αυτου εις χιλιας γενεας

When Yahweh sent you from Kadesh Barnea, saying, “Go up and possess the land which I have given you,” you rebelled against the commandment of Yahweh your God, and you didn’t believe him or listen to his voice.

και οτε εξαπεστειλεν κυριος υμας εκ καδης βαρνη λεγων αναβητε και κληρονομησατε την γην ην διδωμι υμιν και ηπειθησατε τω ρηματι κυριου του θεου υμων και ουκ επιστευσατε αυτω και ουκ εισηκουσατε της φωνης αυτου

then Yahweh will make your plagues and the plagues of your offspring fearful, even great plagues, and of long duration, and severe sicknesses, and of long duration.

και παραδοξασει κυριος τας πληγας σου και τας πληγας του σπερματος σου πληγας μεγαλας και θαυμαστας και νοσους πονηρας και πιστας

Your life will hang in doubt before you. You will be afraid night and day, and will have no assurance of your life.

και εσται η ζωη σου κρεμαμενη απεναντι των οφθαλμων σου και φοβηθηση ημερας και νυκτος και ου πιστευσεις τη ζωη σου

But Sihon didn’t trust Israel to pass through his border; but Sihon gathered all his people together, and encamped in Jahaz, and fought against Israel.

Naomi took the child, laid him in her bosom, and became nurse to him.

All Israel from Dan even to Beersheba knew that Samuel was established to be a prophet of Yahweh.

Please forgive the trespass of your servant. For Yahweh will certainly make my lord a sure house, because my lord fights Yahweh’s battles. Evil will not be found in you all your days.

αρον δη το ανομημα της δουλης σου οτι ποιων ποιησει κυριος τω κυριω μου οικον πιστον οτι πολεμον κυριου ο κυριος μου πολεμει και κακια ουχ ευρεθησεται εν σοι πωποτε

Achish believed David, saying, “He has made his people Israel utterly to abhor him. Therefore he will be my servant forever.”

και πιστωθησεται ο οικος αυτου και η βασιλεια αυτου εως αιωνος ενωπιον εμου και ο θρονος αυτου εσται ανωρθωμενος εις τον αιωνα

I am among those who are peaceable and faithful in Israel. You seek to destroy a city and a mother in Israel. Why will you swallow up Yahweh’s inheritance?”

I [am one of them that are] peaceable H7999 (QalPasPtc) [and] faithful H539 (QalPasPtc) in Israel: H3478 thou seekest H1245 (PielPtc) to destroy H4191 (HiphInf) a city H5892 and a mother H517 in Israel: H3478 why wilt thou swallow up H1104 (PielImpf) the inheritance H5159 of the Lord? H3068

εγω ειμι ειρηνικα των στηριγματων ισραηλ συ δε ζητεις θανατωσαι πολιν και μητροπολιν εν ισραηλ ινα τι καταποντιζεις κληρονομιαν κυριου

“Now therefore, God of Israel, please let your word be verified, which you spoke to your servant David my father.

και νυν κυριε ο θεος ισραηλ πιστωθητω δη το ρημα σου τω δαυιδ τω πατρι μου

However, I didn’t believe the words until I came and my eyes had seen it. Behold, not even half was told me! Your wisdom and prosperity exceed the fame which I heard.

και ουκ επιστευσα τοις λαλουσιν μοι εως οτου παρεγενομην και εωρακασιν οι οφθαλμοι μου και ιδου ουκ εστιν το ημισυ καθως απηγγειλαν μοι προστεθεικας αγαθα προς αυτα επι πασαν την ακοην ην ηκουσα εν τη γη μου

It shall be, if you will listen to all that I command you, and will walk in my ways, and do that which is right in my eyes, to keep my statutes and my commandments, as David my servant did, that I will be with you, and will build you a sure house, as I built for David, and will give Israel to you.

και εσται εαν φυλαξης παντα οσα αν εντειλωμαι σοι και πορευθης εν ταις οδοις μου και ποιησης το ευθες ενωπιον εμου του φυλαξασθαι τας εντολας μου και τα προσταγματα μου καθως εποιησεν δαυιδ ο δουλος μου και εσομαι μετα σου και οικοδομησω σοι οικον πιστον καθως ωκοδομησα τω δαυιδ

Now Ahab had seventy sons in Samaria. Jehu wrote letters and sent them to Samaria, to the rulers of Jezreel, even the elders, and to those who brought up Ahab’s sons, saying,

He who was over the household, and he who was over the city, the elders also, and those who raised the children, sent to Jehu, saying, “We are your servants, and will do all that you ask us. We will not make any man king. You do that which is good in your eyes.”

Notwithstanding, they would not listen, but hardened their neck like the neck of their fathers who didn’t believe in Yahweh their God.

At that time, Hezekiah cut off the gold from the doors of Yahweh’s temple, and from the pillars which Hezekiah king of Judah had overlaid, and gave it to the king of Assyria.

εν τω καιρω εκεινω συνεκοψεν εζεκιας τας θυρας ναου κυριου και τα εστηριγμενα α εχρυσωσεν εζεκιας βασιλευς ιουδα και εδωκεν αυτα βασιλει ασσυριων

Now, Yahweh, let the word that you have spoken concerning your servant, and concerning his house, be established forever, and do as you have spoken.
