Yahweh said to me, “Go again, love a woman loved by another, and an adulteress, even as Yahweh loves the children of Israel, though they turn to other gods, and love cakes of raisins.”

And Jehovah saith unto me: ‘Again, go, love a woman, loved of a friend, and an adulteress, like the loved of Jehovah, the sons of Israel, and they are turning unto other gods, and are lovers of grape-cakes.’

They will go with their flocks and with their herds to seek Yahweh, but they won’t find him. He has withdrawn himself from them.

They shall go H3212 (QalImpf) with their flocks H6629 and with their herds H1241 to seek H1245 (PielInf) the Lord; H3068 but they shall not find H4672 (QalImpf) [him]; he hath withdrawn H2502 (QalPerf) himself from them.

With their flock and with their herd, They go to seek Jehovah, and do not find, He hath withdrawn from them.

“When Ephraim saw his sickness, and Judah his wound, then Ephraim went to Assyria, and sent to King Jareb: but he is not able to heal you, neither will he cure you of your wound.

And see doth Ephraim his sickness, and Judah his wound, And Ephraim goeth unto Asshur, And sendeth unto a warlike king, And he is not able to give healing to you, Nor doth he remove from you a scar.

For I will be to Ephraim like a lion, and like a young lion to the house of Judah. I myself will tear in pieces and go away. I will carry off, and there will be no one to deliver.

For I [will be] unto Ephraim H669 as a lion, H7826 and as a young lion H3715 to the house H1004 of Judah: H3063 I, [even] I, will tear H2963 (QalImpf) and go away; H3212 (QalImpf) I will take away, H5375 (QalImpf) and none shall rescue H5337 (HiphPtc) [him].

For I am as a lion to Ephraim, And as a young lion to the house of Judah, I-I tear and go, I bear away, and there is no deliverer.

I will go and return to my place, until they acknowledge their offense, and seek my face. In their affliction they will seek me earnestly.”

I go-I turn back unto My place, Till that they are desolate, and have sought My face. In their distress they do seek Me speedily!’

“Come! Let’s return to Yahweh; for he has torn us to pieces, and he will heal us; he has injured us, and he will bind up our wounds.

‘Come, and we turn back unto Jehovah, For He hath torn, and He doth heal us, He doth smite, and He bindeth us up.

When they go, I will spread my net on them. I will bring them down like the birds of the sky. I will chastise them, as their congregation has heard.

They will walk after Yahweh, who will roar like a lion; for he will roar, and the children will come trembling from the west.

After Jehovah they go-as a lion He roareth, When He doth roar, then tremble do the sons from the west.

His branches will spread, and his beauty will be like the olive tree, and his fragrance like Lebanon.

His branches H3127 shall spread, H3212 (QalImpf) and his beauty H1935 shall be as the olive tree, H2132 and his smell H7381 as Lebanon. H3844

Go on do his sucklings, And his beauty is as an olive, And he hath fragrance as Lebanon.

Who is wise, that he may understand these things? Who is prudent, that he may know them? For the ways of Yahweh are right, and the righteous walk in them, but the rebellious stumble in them.

Who [is] wise, H2450 and he shall understand H995 (QalImpf) these [things]? prudent, H995 (NiphPtc) and he shall know H3045 (QalImpf) them? for the ways H1870 of the Lord H3068 [are] right, H3477 and the just H6662 shall walk H3212 (QalImpf) in them: but the transgressors H6586 (QalActPtc) shall fall H3782 (NiphImpf) therein.

Who is wise, and doth understand these? Prudent, and knoweth them? For upright are the ways of Jehovah, And the righteous go on in them, And the transgressors stumble therein!

They run like mighty men. They climb the wall like warriors. They each march in his line, and they don’t swerve off course.

As mighty ones they run, As men of war they go up a wall, And each in his own ways they do go, And they embarrass not their paths.

One doesn’t jostle another. They each march in their own path. They burst through the defenses and don’t break ranks.

And it hath come to pass, in that day, Drop down do the mountains juice, And the hills do flow with milk, And all streams of Judah do go with water, And a fountain from the house of Jehovah goeth forth, And hath watered the valley of Shittim.

They trample the heads of the poor into the dust of the earth and deny justice to the oppressed. A man and his father use the same maiden, to profane my holy name.

Who are panting for the dust of the earth on the head of the poor, And the way of the humble they turn aside, And a man and his father go unto the damsel, So as to pollute My holy name.

Also I brought you up out of the land of Egypt and led you forty years in the wilderness, to possess the land of the Amorite.

Do two walk together, unless they have agreed?

Do two walk together if they have not met?

Go to Calneh, and see. From there go to Hamath the great. Then go down to Gath of the Philistines. Are they better than these kingdoms? Is their border greater than your border?

Amaziah also said to Amos, “You seer, go, flee away into the land of Judah, and there eat bread, and prophesy there,

Though they go into captivity before their enemies, there I will command the sword, and it will kill them. I will set my eyes on them for evil, and not for good.

“Arise, go to Nineveh, that great city, and preach against it, for their wickedness has come up before me.”

“Arise, go to Nineveh, that great city, and preach to it the message that I give you.”

‘Rise, go unto Nineveh, the great city, and proclaim unto it the proclamation that I am speaking unto thee;’

So Jonah arose, and went to Nineveh, according to Yahweh’s word. Now Nineveh was an exceedingly great city, three days’ journey across.

and Jonah riseth, and he goeth unto Nineveh, according to the word of Jehovah. And Nineveh hath been a great city before God, a journey of three days.

For this I will lament and wail. I will go stripped and naked. I will howl like the jackals and mourn like the ostriches.

For this I lament and howl, I go spoiled and naked, I make a lamentation like dragons, And a mourning like daughters of an ostrich.

Therefore Yahweh says: “Behold, I am planning against these people a disaster, from which you will not remove your necks, neither will you walk haughtily, for it is an evil time.

Therefore thus saith H559 (QalPerf) the Lord; H3068 Behold, against this family H4940 do I devise H2803 (QalActPtc) an evil, H7451 from which ye shall not remove H4185 (HiphImpf) your necks; H6677 neither shall ye go H3212 (QalImpf) haughtily: H7317 for this time H6256 [is] evil. H7451

Therefore, thus said Jehovah: Lo, I am devising against this family evil, From which ye do not remove your necks, Nor walk loftily, for a time of evil it is.

Arise, and depart! For this is not your resting place, because of uncleanness that destroys, even with a grievous destruction.

Arise H6965 (QalImpv) ye, and depart; H3212 (QalImpv) for this [is] not [your] rest: H4496 because it is polluted, H2930 (QalInf) it shall destroy H2254 (PielImpf) [you], even with a sore H4834 (NiphPtc) destruction. H2256

Rise and go, for this is not the rest, Because of uncleanness it doth corrupt, And corruption is powerful.

Many nations will go and say, “Come! Let’s go up to the mountain of Yahweh, and to the house of the God of Jacob; and he will teach us of his ways, and we will walk in his paths.” For the law will go out of Zion, and Yahweh’s word from Jerusalem;

And many H7227 nations H1471 shall come, H1980 (QalPerf) and say, H559 (QalPerf) Come, H3212 (QalImpv) and let us go up H5927 (QalImpf) to the mountain H2022 of the Lord, H3068 and to the house H1004 of the God H430 of Jacob; H3290 and he will teach H3384 (HiphImpf) us of his ways, H1870 and we will walk H3212 (QalImpf) in his paths: H734 for the law H8451 shall go forth H3318 (QalImpf) of Zion, H6726 and the word H1697 of the Lord H3068 from Jerusalem. And gone have many nations and said, Come and we go up to the mount of Jehovah, And unto the house of the God of Jacob, And He doth teach us of His ways, And we do walk in His paths, For from Zion doth go forth a law, And a word of Jehovah from Jerusalem.

Indeed all the nations may walk in the name of their gods, but we will walk in the name of Yahweh our God forever and ever.

For all people H5971 will walk H3212 (QalImpf) every one H376 in the name H8034 of his god, H430 and we will walk H3212 (QalImpf) in the name H8034 of the Lord H3068 our God H430 for ever H5769 and ever. H5703

For all the peoples do walk, Each in the name of its god-and we, We do walk in the name of Jehovah our God, To the age and for ever.

He has shown you, O man, what is good. What does Yahweh require of you, but to act justly, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God?

He hath shewed H5046 (HiphPerf) thee, O man, H120 what [is] good; H2896 and what doth the Lord H3068 require H1875 (QalActPtc) of thee, but to do H6213 (QalInf) justly, H4941 and to love H160 mercy, H2617 and to walk H3212 (QalInf) humbly H6800 (HiphInf) with thy God? H430

He hath declared to thee, O man, what is good; Yea, what is Jehovah requiring of thee, Except-to do judgment, and love kindness, And lowly to walk with thy God?

For the statutes of Omri are kept, and all the works of Ahab’s house. You walk in their counsels, that I may make you a ruin, and your inhabitants a hissing. You will bear the reproach of my people.”

And kept habitually are the statutes of Omri, And all the work of the house of Ahab, And ye do walk in their counsels, For My giving thee for a desolation, And its inhabitants for a hissing, And the reproach of My people ye do bear!

Plague went before him, and pestilence followed his feet.

“Yahweh of Armies says: ‘If you will walk in my ways, and if you will follow my instructions, then you also shall judge my house, and shall also keep my courts, and I will give you a place of access among these who stand by.

‘Thus said Jehovah of Hosts: If in My ways thou dost walk, And if My charge thou dost keep, Then also thou dost judge My house, And also thou dost keep My courts, And I have given to thee conductors among these standing by.

Then I said to the angel who talked with me, “Where are these carrying the ephah basket?”

Yea, gone have inhabitants of one To another, saying: We go diligently, To appease the face of Jehovah, To seek Jehovah of Hosts-I go, even I.

Yahweh of Armies says: “In those days, ten men out of all the languages of the nations will take hold of the skirt of him who is a Jew, saying, ‘We will go with you, for we have heard that God is with you.’ ”

Thus saith H559 (QalPerf) the Lord H3068 of hosts; H6635 In those days H3117 [it shall come to pass], that ten H6235 men H582 shall take hold H2388 (HiphImpf) out of all languages H3956 of the nations, H1471 even shall take hold H2388 (HiphPerf) of the skirt H3671 of him that is a Jew, H376 H3064 saying, H559 (QalInf) We will go H3212 (QalImpf) with you: for we have heard H8085 (QalPerf) [that] God H430 [is] with you.

Thus said Jehovah of Hosts: In those days take hold do ten men of all languages of the nations, Yea, they have taken hold on the skirt of a man, a Jew, saying: We go with you, for we heard God is with you!
