Yahweh said to Moses, “If her father had but spit in her face, shouldn’t she be ashamed seven days? Let her be shut up outside of the camp seven days, and after that she shall be brought in again.”

And Jehovah saith unto Moses, ‘And her father had but spat in her face-is she not ashamed seven days? she is shut out seven days at the outside of the camp, and afterwards she is gathered.’

Miriam was shut up outside of the camp seven days, and the people didn’t travel until Miriam was brought in again.

And Miriam H4813 was shut H5462 (NiphImpf) out H2351 from the camp H4264 seven H7651 days: H3117 and the people H5971 journeyed H5265 (QalPerf) not till Miriam H4813 was brought H622 (NiphInf) in [again].

And Miriam is shut out at the outside of the camp seven days, and the people hath not journeyed till Miriam is gathered;

and what the land is, whether it is fertile or poor, whether there is wood therein, or not. Be courageous, and bring some of the fruit of the land.” Now the time was the time of the first-ripe grapes.

And what the land H776 [is], whether it [be] fat H8082 or lean, H7330 whether there be H3426 wood H6086 therein, or not. And be ye of good courage, H2388 (HithPerf) and bring H3947 (QalPerf) of the fruit H6529 of the land. H776 Now the time H3117 [was] the time H3117 of the firstripe H1061 grapes. H6025

And what the land is, whether it is fat or lean; whether there is wood in it or not; and ye have strengthened yourselves, and have taken of the fruit of the land;’ and the days are days of the first-fruits of grapes.

They came to the valley of Eshcol, and cut down from there a branch with one cluster of grapes, and they bore it on a staff between two. They also brought some of the pomegranates and figs.

And they came H935 (QalImpf) unto the brook H5158 of Eshcol, H812 and cut down H3772 (QalImpf) from thence a branch H2156 with one H259 cluster H811 of grapes, H6025 and they bare H5375 (QalImpf) it between two H8147 upon a staff; H4132 and [they brought] of the pomegranates, H7416 and of the figs. and they come in unto the brook of Eshcol, and cut down thence a branch and one cluster of grapes, and they bear it on a staff by two, also some of the pomegranates, and of the figs.

But the men who went up with him said, “We aren’t able to go up against the people; for they are stronger than we.”

But the men H582 that went up H5927 (QalPerf) with him said, H559 (QalPerf) We be not able H3201 (QalImpf) to go up H5927 (QalInf) against the people; H5971 for they [are] stronger H2389 than we.

And the men who have gone up with him said, ‘We are not able to go up against the people, for it is stronger than we;’

I will strike them with the pestilence, and disinherit them, and will make of you a nation greater and mightier than they.”

I will smite H5221 (HiphImpf) them with the pestilence, H1698 and disinherit H3423 (HiphImpf) them, and will make H6213 (QalImpf) of thee a greater H1419 nation H1471 and mightier H6099 than they.

I smite it with pestilence, and dispossess it, and make thee become a nation greater and mightier than it.’

‘Because Yahweh was not able to bring this people into the land which he swore to them, therefore he has slain them in the wilderness.’

Because the Lord H3068 was not H1115 able H3201 (QalInf) to bring H935 (HiphInf) this people H5971 into the land H776 which he sware H7650 (NiphPerf) unto them, therefore he hath slain H7819 (QalImpf) them in the wilderness. H4057

From Jehovah’s want of ability to bring in this people unto the land which He hath sworn to them-He doth slaughter them in the wilderness.

then it shall be, if it was done unwittingly, without the knowledge of the congregation, that all the congregation shall offer one young bull for a burnt offering, for a pleasant aroma to Yahweh, with its meal offering and its drink offering, according to the ordinance, and one male goat for a sin offering.

Then it shall be, if [ought] be committed H6213 (NiphPerf) by ignorance H7684 without the knowledge H5869 of the congregation, H5712 that all the congregation H5712 shall offer H6213 (QalPerf) one H259 young H1121 H1241 bullock H6499 for a burnt offering, H5930 for a sweet H5207 savour H7381 unto the Lord, H3068 with his meat offering, H4503 and his drink offering, H5262 according to the manner, H4941 and one H259 kid H8163 of the goats H5795 for a sin offering. H2403

then it hath been, if from the eyes of the company it hath been done in ignorance, that all the company have prepared one bullock, a son of the herd, for a burnt-offering, for sweet fragrance to Jehovah, and its present, and its libation, according to the ordinance, and one kid of the goats for a sin-offering.

“ ‘But the soul who does anything with a high hand, whether he is native-born or a foreigner, blasphemes Yahweh. That soul shall be cut off from among his people.

But the soul H5315 that doeth H6213 (QalImpf) [ought] presumptuously, H7311 (QalActPtc) H3027 [whether he be] born in the land, H249 or a stranger, H4480 H1616 the same reproacheth H1442 (PielPtc) the Lord; H3068 and that soul H5315 shall be cut off H3772 (NiphPerf) from among H7130 his people. H5971

‘And the person who doth aught with a high hand-of the native or of the sojourner-Jehovah he is reviling, and that person hath been cut off from the midst of his people;

Yahweh said to Moses, “The man shall surely be put to death. All the congregation shall stone him with stones outside of the camp.”

And the Lord H3068 said H559 (QalImpf) unto Moses, H4872 The man H376 shall be surely H4191 (QalInf) put to death: H4191 (HophImpf) all the congregation H5712 shall stone H7275 (QalInf) him with stones H68 without H2351 the camp. H4264

And Jehovah saith unto Moses, ‘The man is certainly put to death, all the company stoning him with stones, at the outside of the camp.’

All the congregation brought him outside of the camp, and stoned him to death with stones, as Yahweh commanded Moses.

And all the congregation H5712 brought H3318 (HiphImpf) him without H2351 the camp, H4264 and stoned H7275 (QalImpf) him with stones, H68 and he died; H4191 (QalImpf) as the Lord H3068 commanded H6680 (PielPerf) Moses. H4872

And all the company bring him out unto the outside of the camp, and stone him with stones, and he dieth, as Jehovah hath commanded Moses.

Moses said, “Hereby you shall know that Yahweh has sent me to do all these works; for they are not from my own mind.

And Moses H4872 said, H559 (QalImpf) Hereby ye shall know H3045 (QalImpf) that the Lord H3068 hath sent H7971 (QalPerf) me to do H6213 (QalInf) all these works; H4639 for [I have] not [done them] of mine own mind. H3820

And Moses saith, ‘By this ye do know that Jehovah hath sent me to do all these works, that they are not from my own heart;

Now those who died by the plague were fourteen thousand seven hundred, in addition to those who died about the matter of Korah.

Now they that died H4191 (QalPtc) in the plague H4046 were fourteen H702 H6240 thousand H505 and seven H7651 hundred, H3967 beside them that died H4191 (QalPtc) about the matter H1697 of Korah. H7141

and those who die by the plague are fourteen thousand and seven hundred, apart from those who die for the matter of Korah;

Yahweh said to Moses, “Put back the rod of Aaron before the covenant, to be kept for a token against the children of rebellion; that you may make an end of their complaining against me, that they not die.”

And the Lord H3068 said H559 (QalImpf) unto Moses, H4872 Bring H7725 Aaron’s H175 rod H4294 again H7725 (HiphImpv) before H6440 the testimony, H5715 to be kept H4931 for a token H226 against the rebels; H4805 H1121 and thou shalt quite take away H3615 (PielImpf) their murmurings H8519 from me, that they die H4191 (QalImpf) not.

And Jehovah saith unto Moses, ‘Put back the rod of Aaron, before the testimony, for a charge, for a sign to the sons of rebellion, and thou dost remove their murmurings from off me, and they do not die;’

You and your sons with you shall keep your priesthood for everything of the altar, and for that within the veil. You shall serve. I give you the service of the priesthood as a gift. The stranger who comes near shall be put to death.”

Therefore thou and thy sons H1121 with thee shall keep H8104 (QalImpf) your priest’s office H3550 for every thing H1697 of the altar, H4196 and within H1004 the vail; H6532 and ye shall serve: H5647 (QalPerf) I have given H5414 (QalImpf) your priest’s office H3550 [unto you] as a service H5656 of gift: H4979 and the stranger H2114 (QalPtc) that cometh nigh H7131 shall be put to death. H4191 (HophImpf)

and thou, and thy sons with thee, do keep your priesthood, for everything of the altar, and within the vail, and ye have served; a service of gift I make your priesthood; and the stranger who is coming near is put to death.’

You shall give her to Eleazar the priest, and he shall bring her outside of the camp, and one shall kill her before his face.

And ye shall give H5414 (QalPerf) her unto Eleazar H499 the priest, H3548 that he may bring her forth H3318 (HiphPerf) without H2351 the camp, H4264 and [one] shall slay H7819 (QalPerf) her before H6440 his face:

and ye have given it unto Eleazar the priest, and he hath brought it out unto the outside of the camp, and hath slaughtered it before him.

Eleazar the priest shall take some of her blood with his finger, and sprinkle her blood toward the front of the Tent of Meeting seven times.

And Eleazar H499 the priest H3548 shall take H3947 (QalPerf) of her blood H1818 with his finger, H676 and sprinkle H5137 (HiphPerf) of her blood H1818 directly H5227 before H6440 the tabernacle H168 of the congregation H4150 seven H7651 times: H6471

‘And Eleazar the priest hath taken of its blood with his finger, and hath sprinkled over-against the front of the tent of meeting of her blood seven times;

“A man who is clean shall gather up the ashes of the heifer, and lay them up outside of the camp in a clean place; and it shall be kept for the congregation of the children of Israel for use in water for cleansing impurity. It is a sin offering.

And a man H376 [that is] clean H2889 shall gather H622 (QalPerf) up the ashes H665 of the heifer, H6510 and lay [them] up H3240 (HiphPerf) without H2351 the camp H4264 in a clean H2889 place, H4725 and it shall be kept H4931 for the congregation H5712 of the children H1121 of Israel H3478 for a water H4325 of separation: H5079 it [is] a purification for sin. H2403

‘And a clean man hath gathered the ashes of the cow, and hath placed at the outside of the camp, in a clean place, and it hath become to the company of the sons of Israel a charge for waters of separation-it is a cleansing;

“For the unclean, they shall take of the ashes of the burning of the sin offering; and running water shall be poured on them in a vessel.

And for an unclean H2931 [person] they shall take H3947 (QalPerf) of the ashes H6083 of the burnt heifer H8316 of purification for sin, H2403 and running H2416 water H4325 shall be put H5414 (QalPerf) thereto in a vessel: H3627

and they have taken for the unclean person of the ashes of the burning of the cleansing, and he hath put upon it running water unto a vessel;

Moses took the rod from before Yahweh, as he commanded him.

And Moses H4872 took H3947 (QalImpf) the rod H4294 from before H6440 the Lord, H3068 as he commanded H6680 (PielPerf) him.

And Moses taketh the rod from before Jehovah, as He hath commanded him,

The Canaanite, the king of Arad, who lived in the South, heard that Israel came by the way of Atharim. He fought against Israel, and took some of them captive.

And [when] king H4428 Arad H6166 the Canaanite, H3669 which dwelt H3427 (QalActPtc) in the south, H5045 heard H8085 (QalImpf) tell that Israel H3478 came H935 (QalActPtc) by the way H1870 of the spies; H871 then he fought H3898 (NiphImpf) against Israel, H3478 and took H7617 (QalImpf) [some] of them prisoners. And the Canaanite-king Arad-dwelling in the south, heareth that Israel hath come the way of the Atharim, and he fighteth against Israel, and taketh some of them captive.

The children of Israel traveled, and encamped in the plains of Moab beyond the Jordan at Jericho.

And the children H1121 of Israel H3478 set forward, H5265 (QalImpf) and pitched H2583 (QalImpf) in the plains H6160 of Moab H4124 on this side H5676 Jordan H3383 [by] Jericho. H3405

And the sons of Israel journey and encamp in the plains of Moab, beyond the Jordan, by Jericho.

Moab was very afraid of the people, because they were many. Moab was distressed because of the children of Israel.

And Moab H4124 was sore H3966 afraid H1481 (QalImpf) of H6440 the people, H5971 because they [were] many: H7227 and Moab H4124 was distressed H6973 (QalImpf) because of H6440 the children H1121 of Israel. H3478

and Moab is exceedingly afraid of the presence of the people, for it is numerous; and Moab is vexed by the presence of the sons of Israel,

He sent messengers to Balaam the son of Beor, to Pethor, which is by the River, to the land of the children of his people, to call him, saying, “Behold, there is a people who came out of Egypt. Behold, they cover the surface of the earth, and they are staying opposite me.

He sent H7971 (QalImpf) messengers H4397 therefore unto Balaam H1109 the son H1121 of Beor H1160 to Pethor, H6604 which [is] by the river H5104 of the land H776 of the children H1121 of his people, H5971 to call H7121 (QalInf) him, saying, H559 (QalInf) Behold, there is a people H5971 come out H3318 (QalPerf) from Egypt: H4714 behold, they cover H3680 (PielPerf) the face H5869 of the earth, H776 and they abide H3427 (QalActPtc) over against H4136 me:

and he sendeth messengers unto Balaam son of Beor, to Pethor, which is by the River of the land of the sons of his people, to call for him, saying, ‘Lo, a people hath come out of Egypt; lo, it hath covered the eye of the land, and it is abiding over-against me;

Please come now therefore, and curse this people for me; for they are too mighty for me. Perhaps I shall prevail, that we may strike them, and that I may drive them out of the land; for I know that he whom you bless is blessed, and he whom you curse is cursed.”

and now, come, I pray thee, curse for me this people, for it is mightier than I; it may be I prevail-we smite it-and I cast it out from the land; for I have known-that which thou blessest is blessed, and that which thou cursest is cursed.’

Balak again sent princes, more, and more honorable than they.

And Balak H1111 sent H7971 (QalInf) yet again H3254 (HiphImpf) princes, H8269 more, H7227 and more honourable H3513 (NiphPtc) than they.

And Balak addeth yet to send princes, more numerous and honoured than these,

The donkey said to Balaam, “Am I not your donkey, on which you have ridden all your life long until today? Was I ever in the habit of doing so to you?” He said, “No.”

And the ass H860 said H559 (QalImpf) unto Balaam, H1109 [Am] not I thine ass, H860 upon which thou hast ridden H7392 (QalPerf) ever since [I was] thine unto this day? H3117 was I ever H5532 (HiphInf) wont H5532 (HiphPerf) to do so H6213 (QalInf) unto thee? And he said, H559 (QalImpf) Nay.

and the ass saith unto Balaam, ‘Am not I thine ass, upon which thou hast ridden since I was thine unto this day? have I at all been accustomed to do to thee thus?’ and he saith, ‘No.’

Water shall flow from his buckets. His seed shall be in many waters. His king shall be higher than Agag. His kingdom shall be exalted.

He shall pour H5140 the water H4325 out H5140 (QalImpf) of his buckets, H1805 and his seed H2233 [shall be] in many H7227 waters, H4325 and his king H4428 shall be higher H7311 (QalImpf) than Agag, H90 and his kingdom H4438 shall be exalted. H5375 (HithImpf)

He maketh water flow from his buckets, And his seed is in many waters; And higher than Agag is his king, And exalted is his kingdom.

You shall give authority to him, that all the congregation of the children of Israel may obey.

And thou shalt put H5414 (QalPerf) [some] of thine honour H1935 upon him, that all the congregation H5712 of the children H1121 of Israel H3478 may be obedient. H8085 (QalImpf)

and hast put of thine honour upon him, so that all the company of the sons of Israel do hearken.

You shall offer these in addition to the burnt offering of the morning, which is for a continual burnt offering.

Ye shall offer H6213 (QalImpf) these beside the burnt offering H5930 in the morning, H1242 which [is] for a continual H8548 burnt offering. H5930

‘Apart from the burnt-offering of the morning, which is for the continual burnt-offering, ye prepare these;

Besides the continual burnt offering and its meal offering, you shall offer them and their drink offerings. See that they are without defect.

Ye shall offer H6213 (QalImpf) [them] beside the continual H8548 burnt offering, H5930 and his meat offering, H4503 (they shall be unto you without blemish H8549) and their drink offerings. H5262

apart from the continual burnt-offering and its present ye prepare them (perfect ones they are for you) and their libations.

in addition to the burnt offering of the new moon with its meal offering, and the continual burnt offering with its meal offering, and their drink offerings, according to their ordinance, for a pleasant aroma, an offering made by fire to Yahweh.

Beside the burnt offering H5930 of the month, H2320 and his meat offering, H4503 and the daily H8548 burnt offering, H5930 and his meat offering, H4503 and their drink offerings, H5262 according unto their manner, H4941 for a sweet H5207 savour, H7381 a sacrifice made by fire H801 unto the Lord. apart from the burnt-offering of the month, and its present, and the continual burnt-offering, and its present, and their libations, according to their ordinance, for sweet fragrance, a fire-offering to Jehovah.

one male goat for a sin offering, in addition to the sin offering of atonement, and the continual burnt offering, and its meal offering, and their drink offerings.

One H259 kid H8163 of the goats H5795 [for] a sin offering; H2403 beside the sin offering H2403 of atonement, H3725 and the continual H8548 burnt offering, H5930 and the meat offering H4503 of it, and their drink offerings. H5262

one kid of the goats, a sin-offering; apart from the sin-offering of the atonements, and the continual burnt-offering, and its present, and their libations.

and one male goat for a sin offering, in addition to the continual burnt offering, its meal offering, and its drink offering.

And one H259 kid H8163 of the goats H5795 [for] a sin offering; H2403 beside the continual H8548 burnt offering, H5930 his meat offering, H4503 and his drink offering. H5262

and one kid of the goats, a sin-offering; apart from the continual burnt-offering, its present, and its libation.

and one male goat for a sin offering, in addition to the continual burnt offering, with its meal offering and their drink offerings.

and one goat, a sin-offering; apart from the continual burnt-offering, and its present, and its libation.

“ ‘You shall offer these to Yahweh in your set feasts—in addition to your vows and your free will offerings—for your burnt offerings, your meal offerings, your drink offerings, and your peace offerings.’ ”

These [things] ye shall do H6213 (QalImpf) unto the Lord H3068 in your set feasts, H4150 beside your vows, H5088 and your freewill offerings, H5071 for your burnt offerings, H5930 and for your meat offerings, H4503 and for your drink offerings, H5262 and for your peace offerings. H8002

‘These ye prepare to Jehovah in your appointed seasons, apart from your vows, and your free-will offerings, for your burnt-offerings, and for your presents, and for your libations, and for your peace-offerings.’

Moses and Eleazar the priest, with all the princes of the congregation, went out to meet them outside of the camp.

And Moses, H4872 and Eleazar H499 the priest, H3548 and all the princes H5387 of the congregation, H5712 went forth H3318 (QalImpf) to meet H7125 (QalInf) them without H2351 the camp. H4264

And Moses, and Eleazar the priest, and all the princes of the company, go out to meet them, unto the outside of the camp,

“Encamp outside of the camp for seven days. Whoever has killed any person, and whoever has touched any slain, purify yourselves on the third day and on the seventh day, you and your captives.

And do ye abide H2583 (QalImpv) without H2351 the camp H4264 seven H7651 days: H3117 whosoever hath killed H2026 (QalActPtc) any person, H5315 and whosoever hath touched H5060 (QalActPtc) any slain, H2491 purify H2398 (HithImpf) [both] yourselves and your captives H7628 on the third H7992 day, H3117 and on the seventh H7637 day. H3117

‘And ye, encamp ye at the outside of the camp seven days-any who hath slain a person, and any who hath come against a pierced one, ye cleanse yourselves on the third day, and on the seventh day-ye and your captives;

(now the congregation’s half was three hundred thirty-seven thousand five hundred sheep,

(Now the half H4275 [that pertained unto] the congregation H5712 was three H7969 hundred H3967 thousand H505 and thirty H7970 thousand H505 [and] seven H7651 thousand H505 and five H2568 hundred H3967 sheep, H4480 H6629

and the company’s half is, of the flock three hundred thousand, and thirty thousand, seven thousand and five hundred;

even of the children of Israel’s half, Moses took one drawn out of every fifty, both of man and of animal, and gave them to the Levites, who performed the duty of Yahweh’s tabernacle, as Yahweh commanded Moses.

Moses taketh from the sons of Israel’s half the one possession from the fifty, of man and of beast, and giveth them to the Levites keeping the charge of the tabernacle of Jehovah, as Jehovah hath commanded Moses.

but we ourselves will be ready armed to go before the children of Israel, until we have brought them to their place. Our little ones shall dwell in the fortified cities because of the inhabitants of the land.

But we ourselves H587 will go ready H2363 (QalPasPtc) armed H2502 (NiphImpf) before H6440 the children H1121 of Israel, H3478 until we have brought H935 (HiphPerf) them unto their place: H4725 and our little ones H2945 shall dwell H3427 (QalPerf) in the fenced H4013 cities H5892 because H6440 of the inhabitants H3427 (QalActPtc) of the land. and we-we are armed hasting before the sons of Israel till that we have brought them in unto their place; and our infants have dwelt in the cities of defence because of the inhabitants of the land;
