Saul asked counsel of God: “Shall I go down after the Philistines? Will you deliver them into the hand of Israel?” But he didn’t answer him that day.

And Saul asketh of God, ‘Do I go down after the Philistines? dost Thou give them into the hand of Israel?’ and He hath not answered him on that day.

Then Saul said to Jonathan, “Tell me what you have done!” Jonathan told him, and said, “I certainly did taste a little honey with the end of the rod that was in my hand; and behold, I must die.”

And Saul saith unto Jonathan, ‘Declare to me, what hast thou done?’ and Jonathan declareth to him, and saith, ‘I certainly tasted with the end of the rod that is in my hand a little honey; lo, I die!’

He did valiantly and struck the Amalekites, and delivered Israel out of the hands of those who plundered them.

And he gathered H6213 (QalImpf) an host, H2428 and smote H5221 (HiphImpf) the Amalekites, H6002 and delivered H5337 (HiphImpf) Israel H3478 out of the hands H3027 of them that spoiled H8154 (QalActPtc) them.

And he maketh a force, and smiteth Amalek, and delivereth Israel out of the hand of its spoiler.

Samuel rose early to meet Saul in the morning; and Samuel was told, saying, “Saul came to Carmel, and behold, he set up a monument for himself, turned, passed on, and went down to Gilgal.”

And Samuel riseth early to meet Saul in the morning, and it is declared to Samuel, saying, ‘Saul hath come in to Carmel, and lo, he is setting up to himself a monument, and goeth round, and passeth over, and goeth down to Gilgal.’

Samuel said, “How can I go? If Saul hears it, he will kill me.” Yahweh said, “Take a heifer with you, and say, ‘I have come to sacrifice to Yahweh.’

And Samuel H8050 said, H559 (QalImpf) How can I go? H3212 (QalImpf) if Saul H7586 hear H8085 (QalPerf) [it], he will kill H2026 (QalPerf) me. And Samuel saith, ‘How do I go? when Saul hath heard, then he hath slain me.’ And Jehovah saith, ‘A heifer of the herd thou dost take in thy hand, and hast said, To sacrifice to Jehovah I have come;

Let our lord now command your servants who are in front of you to seek out a man who is a skillful player on the harp. Then when the evil spirit from God is on you, he will play with his hand, and you will be well.”

Let our lord H113 now command H559 (QalImpf) thy servants, H5650 [which are] before H6440 thee, to seek out H1245 (PielImpf) a man, H376 [who is] a cunning H3045 (QalActPtc) player H5059 (PielPtc) on an harp: H3658 and it shall come to pass, when the evil H7451 spirit H7307 from God H430 is upon thee, that he shall play H5059 (PielPerf) with his hand, H3027 and thou shalt be well. let our lord command, we pray thee, thy servants before thee, they seek a skilful man, playing on a harp, and it hath come to pass, in the spirit of sadness from God being upon thee, that he hath played with his hand, and it is well with thee.’

Jesse took a donkey loaded with bread, a container of wine, and a young goat, and sent them by David his son to Saul.

And Jesse H3448 took H3947 (QalImpf) an ass H2543 [laden] with bread, H3899 and a bottle H4997 of wine, H3196 and a H259 kid, H1423 H5795 and sent H7971 (QalImpf) [them] by H3027 David H1732 his son H1121 unto Saul. H7586

And Jesse taketh an ass, with bread, and a bottle of wine, and one kid of the goats, and sendeth by the hand of David his son unto Saul.

When the spirit from God was on Saul, David took the harp and played with his hand; so Saul was refreshed and was well, and the evil spirit departed from him.

And it came to pass, when the [evil] spirit H7307 from God H430 was upon Saul, H7586 that David H1732 took H3947 (QalPerf) an harp, H3658 and played H5059 (PielPerf) with his hand: H3027 so Saul H7586 was refreshed, H7304 (QalPerf) and was well, H2895 (QalPerf) and the evil H7451 spirit H7307 departed H5493 (QalPerf) from him.

And it hath come to pass, in the spirit of sadness from God being on Saul, that David hath taken the harp, and played with his hand, and Saul hath refreshment and gladness, and the spirit of sadness hath turned aside from off him.

David left his baggage in the hand of the keeper of the baggage and ran to the army, and came and greeted his brothers.

And David letteth down the goods from off him on the hand of a keeper of the goods, and runneth into the rank, and cometh and asketh of his brethren of welfare.

David said, “Yahweh, who delivered me out of the paw of the lion and out of the paw of the bear, will deliver me out of the hand of this Philistine.” Saul said to David, “Go! Yahweh will be with you.”

David H1732 said H559 (QalImpf) moreover, The Lord H3068 that delivered H5337 (HiphPerf) me out of the paw H3027 of the lion, H738 and out of the paw H3027 of the bear, H1677 he will deliver H5337 (HiphImpf) me out of the hand H3027 of this Philistine. And David saith, ‘Jehovah, who delivered me out of the paw of the lion, and out of the paw of the bear, He doth deliver me from the hand of this Philistine.’ And Saul saith unto David, ‘Go, and Jehovah is with thee.’

He took his staff in his hand, and chose for himself five smooth stones out of the brook, and put them in the pouch of his shepherd’s bag which he had. His sling was in his hand; and he came near to the Philistine.

And he taketh his staff in his hand, and chooseth for him five smooth stones from the brook, and putteth them in the shepherds’ habiliments that he hath, even in the scrip, and his sling is in his hand, and he draweth nigh unto the Philistine.

Today, Yahweh will deliver you into my hand. I will strike you and take your head from off you. I will give the dead bodies of the army of the Philistines today to the birds of the sky and to the wild animals of the earth, that all the earth may know that there is a God in Israel,

This day H3117 will the Lord H3068 deliver H5462 (PielImpf) thee into mine hand; H3027 and I will smite H5221 (HiphPerf) thee, and take H5493 (HiphPerf) thine head H7218 from thee; and I will give H5414 (QalPerf) the carcases H6297 of the host H4264 of the Philistines H6430 this day H3117 unto the fowls H5775 of the air, H8064 and to the wild beasts H2416 of the earth; H776 that all the earth H776 may know H3045 (QalImpf) that there is H3426 a God H430 in Israel. This day doth Jehovah shut thee up into my hand-and I have smitten thee, and turned aside thy head from off thee, and given the carcase of the camp of the Philistines this day to the fowl of the heavens, and to the beast of the earth, and all the earth do know that God is for Israel.

and that all this assembly may know that Yahweh doesn’t save with sword and spear; for the battle is Yahweh’s, and he will give you into our hand.”

And all this assembly H6951 shall know H3045 (QalImpf) that the Lord H3068 saveth H3467 (HiphImpf) not with sword H2719 and spear: H2595 for the battle H4421 [is] the Lord’s, H3068 and he will give H5414 (QalPerf) you into our hands. H3027

and all this assembly do know that not by sword and by spear doth Jehovah save, that the battle is Jehovah’s, and He hath given you into our hand.’

David put his hand in his bag, took a stone and slung it, and struck the Philistine in his forehead. The stone sank into his forehead, and he fell on his face to the earth.

And David H1732 put H7971 (QalImpf) his hand H3027 in his bag, H3627 and took H3947 (QalImpf) thence a stone, H68 and slang H7049 (PielImpf) [it], and smote H5221 (HiphImpf) the Philistine H6430 in his forehead, H4696 that the stone H68 sunk H2883 (QalImpf) into his forehead; H4696 and he fell H5307 (QalImpf) upon his face H6440 to the earth. H776

and David putteth forth his hand unto the vessel, and taketh thence a stone, and slingeth, and smiteth the Philistine on his forehead, and the stone sinketh into his forehead, and he falleth on his face to the earth.

So David prevailed over the Philistine with a sling and with a stone, and struck the Philistine and killed him; but there was no sword in David’s hand.

So David H1732 prevailed H2388 (QalImpf) over H4480 the Philistine H6430 with a sling H7050 and with a stone, H68 and smote H5221 (HiphImpf) the Philistine, H6430 and slew H4191 (HiphImpf) him; but [there was] no sword H2719 in the hand H3027 of David. H1732

And David is stronger than the Philistine with a sling and with a stone, and smiteth the Philistine, and putteth him to death, and there is no sword in the hand of David,

As David returned from the slaughter of the Philistine, Abner took him and brought him before Saul with the head of the Philistine in his hand.

And as David H1732 returned H7725 (QalInf) from the slaughter H5221 (HiphInf) of the Philistine, H6430 Abner H74 took H3947 (QalImpf) him, and brought H935 (HiphImpf) him before H6440 Saul H7586 with the head H7218 of the Philistine H6430 in his hand. H3027

And when David turneth back from smiting the Philistine, then Abner taketh him and bringeth him in before Saul, and the head of the Philistine in his hand;

On the next day, an evil spirit from God came mightily on Saul, and he prophesied in the middle of the house. David played with his hand, as he did day by day. Saul had his spear in his hand;

And it came to pass on the morrow, H4283 that the evil H7451 spirit H7307 from God H430 came H6743 (QalImpf) upon Saul, H7586 and he prophesied H5012 (HithImpf) in the midst H8432 of the house: H1004 and David H1732 played H5059 (PielPtc) with his hand, H3027 as at other times: H3117 and [there was] a javelin H2595 in Saul’s H7586 hand. And it cometh to pass, on the morrow, that the spirit of sadness from God prospereth over Saul, and he prophesieth in the midst of the house, and David is playing with his hand, as day by day, and the javelin is in the hand of Saul,

Saul said to David, “Behold, my elder daughter Merab. I will give her to you as wife. Only be valiant for me, and fight Yahweh’s battles.” For Saul said, “Don’t let my hand be on him, but let the hand of the Philistines be on him.”

And Saul H7586 said H559 (QalImpf) to David, H1732 Behold my elder H1419 daughter H1323 Merab, H4764 her will I give H5414 (QalImpf) thee to wife: H802 only be thou valiant H1121 H2428 for me, and fight H3898 (NiphImpv) the Lord’s H3068 battles. H4421 For Saul H7586 said, H559 (QalPerf) Let not mine hand H3027 be upon him, but let the hand H3027 of the Philistines H6430 be upon him.

And Saul saith unto David, ‘Lo, my elder daughter Merab-her I give to thee for a wife; only, be to me for a son of valour, and fight the battles of Jehovah;’ and Saul said, ‘Let not my hand be on him, but let the hand of the Philistines be upon him.’

Saul said, I will give her to him, that she may be a snare to him and that the hand of the Philistines may be against him. Therefore Saul said to David a second time, “You shall today be my son-in-law.”

And Saul H7586 said, H559 (QalImpf) I will give H5414 (QalImpf) him her, that she may be a snare H4170 to him, and that the hand H3027 of the Philistines H6430 may be against him. Wherefore Saul H7586 said H559 (QalImpf) to David, H1732 Thou shalt this day H3117 be my son in law H2859 (HithImpf) in [the one of] the twain. H8147

and Saul saith, ‘I give her to him, and she is to him for a snare, and the hand of the Philistines is on him;’ and Saul saith unto David, ‘By the second-thou dost become my son-in-law to-day.’

Saul said, “Tell David, ‘The king desires no dowry except one hundred foreskins of the Philistines, to be avenged of the king’s enemies.’ ” Now Saul thought he would make David fall by the hand of the Philistines.

And Saul H7586 said, H559 (QalImpf) Thus shall ye say H559 (QalImpf) to David, H1732 The king H4428 desireth H2656 not any dowry, H4119 but an hundred H3967 foreskins H6190 of the Philistines, H6430 to be avenged H5358 (NiphInf) of the king’s H4428 enemies. H341 (QalActPtc) But Saul H7586 thought H2803 (QalPerf) to make David H1732 fall H5307 (HiphInf) by the hand H3027 of the Philistines. H6430

And Saul saith, ‘Thus do ye say to David, There is no delight to the king in dowry, but in a hundred foreskins of the Philistines-to be avenged on the enemies of the king;’ and Saul thought to cause David to fall by the hand of the Philistines.

I will go out and stand beside my father in the field where you are, and I will talk with my father about you; and if I see anything, I will tell you.”

And I will go out H3318 (QalImpf) and stand H5975 (QalPerf) beside H3027 my father H1 in the field H7704 where thou [art], and I will commune H1696 (PielImpf) with my father H1 of thee; and what H4100 I see, H7200 (QalPerf) that I will tell H5046 (HiphPerf) thee.

and I-I go out, and have stood by the side of my father in the field where thou art, and I speak of thee unto my father, and have seen what is coming, and have declared to thee.’

An evil spirit from Yahweh was on Saul as he sat in his house with his spear in his hand; and David was playing music with his hand.

And the evil H7451 spirit H7307 from the Lord H3068 was upon Saul, H7586 as he sat H3427 (QalActPtc) in his house H1004 with his javelin H2595 in his hand: H3027 and David H1732 played H5059 (PielPtc) with [his] hand. H3027

And a spirit of sadness from Jehovah is unto Saul, and he is sitting in his house, and his javelin in his hand, and David is playing with the hand,

So Jonathan made a covenant with David’s house, saying, “Yahweh will require it at the hand of David’s enemies.”

So Jonathan H3083 made H3772 (QalImpf) [a covenant] with the house H1004 of David, H1732 [saying], Let the Lord H3068 even require H1245 (PielPerf) [it] at the hand H3027 of David’s H1732 enemies. H341 (QalActPtc)

And Jonathan covenanteth with the house of David, and Jehovah hath sought it from the hand of the enemies of David;

Now therefore what is under your hand? Please give me five loaves of bread in my hand, or whatever is available.”

Now therefore what is H3426 under thine hand? H3027 give H5414 (QalImpv) [me] five H2568 [loaves of] bread H3899 in mine hand, H3027 or what there is present. H4672 (NiphPtc)

and now, what is there under thy hand? five loaves give into my hand, or that which is found.’

The priest answered David, and said, “I have no common bread, but there is holy bread; if only the young men have kept themselves from women.”

And the priest H3548 answered H6030 (QalImpf) David, H1732 and said, H559 (QalImpf) [There is] no common H2455 bread H3899 under mine hand, H3027 but there is H3426 hallowed H6944 bread; H3899 if the young men H5288 have kept H8104 (NiphPerf) themselves at least H389 from women. H802

And the priest answereth David, and saith, ‘There is no common bread under my hand, but there is holy bread; if the youths have been kept only from women.’

David said to Ahimelech, “Isn’t there here under your hand spear or sword? For I haven’t brought my sword or my weapons with me, because the king’s business required haste.”

And David H1732 said H559 (QalImpf) unto Ahimelech, H288 And is there H3426 not H371 here under thine hand H3027 spear H2595 or sword? H2719 for I have neither brought H3947 (QalPerf) my sword H2719 nor my weapons H3627 with me, H3027 because the king’s H4428 business H1697 required H1961 (QalPerf) haste. H5169 (QalPasPtc)

And David saith to Ahimelech, ‘And is there not here under thy hand spear or sword? for neither my sword nor my vessels have I taken in my hand, for the matter of the king was urgent.’

He changed his behavior before them and pretended to be insane in their hands, and scribbled on the doors of the gate, and let his spittle fall down on his beard.

And he changed H8138 (PielImpf) his behaviour H2940 before H5869 them, and feigned himself mad H1984 (HipoImpf) in their hands, H3027 and scrabbled H8427 (PielImpf) on the doors H1817 of the gate, H8179 and let his spittle H7388 fall down H3381 (HiphImpf) upon his beard. H2206

and changeth his behaviour before their eyes, and feigneth himself mad in their hand, and scribbleth on the doors of the gate, and letteth down his spittle unto his beard.

Saul heard that David was discovered, with the men who were with him. Now Saul was sitting in Gibeah, under the tamarisk tree in Ramah, with his spear in his hand, and all his servants were standing around him.

When Saul H7586 heard H8085 (QalImpf) that David H1732 was discovered, H3045 (NiphPerf) and the men H582 that [were] with him, (now Saul H7586 abode H3427 (QalActPtc) in Gibeah H1390 under a tree H815 in Ramah, H7414 having his spear H2595 in his hand, H3027 and all his servants H5650 [were] standing H5324 (NiphPtc) about him;)

And Saul heareth that David hath become known, and the men who are with him, and Saul is abiding in Gibeah, under the grove in Ramah, and his spear is in his hand, and all his servants standing by him.

The king said to the guard who stood about him, “Turn and kill the priests of Yahweh, because their hand also is with David, and because they knew that he fled and didn’t disclose it to me.” But the servants of the king wouldn’t put out their hand to fall on the priests of Yahweh.

And the king H4428 said H559 (QalImpf) unto the footmen H7323 (QalPtc) that stood H5324 (NiphPtc) about him, Turn, H5437 (QalImpv) and slay H4191 (HiphImpv) the priests H3548 of the Lord; H3068 because their hand H3027 also [is] with David, H1732 and because they knew H3045 (QalPerf) when he fled, H1272 (QalActPtc) and did not shew H1540 (QalPerf) H241 it to me. But the servants H5650 of the king H4428 would H14 (QalPerf) not put forth H7971 (QalInf) their hand H3027 to fall H6293 (QalInf) upon the priests H3548 of the Lord. H3068

And the king saith to runners, those standing by him, ‘Turn round, and put to death the priests of Jehovah, because their hand also is with David, and because they have known that he is fleeing, and have not uncovered mine ear;’ and the servants of the king have not been willing to put forth their hand to come against the priests of Jehovah.

Then David inquired of Yahweh yet again. Yahweh answered him, and said, “Arise, go down to Keilah; for I will deliver the Philistines into your hand.”

Then David H1732 enquired H7592 (QalInf) of the Lord H3068 yet again. H3254 (HiphImpf) And the Lord H3068 answered H6030 (QalImpf) him and said, H559 (QalImpf) Arise, H6965 (QalImpv) go down H3381 (QalImpv) to Keilah; H7084 for I will deliver H5414 (QalActPtc) the Philistines H6430 into thine hand. H3027

And David addeth again to ask at Jehovah, and Jehovah answereth him, and saith, ‘Rise, go down to Keilah, for I am giving the Philistines into thy hand.’

When Abiathar the son of Ahimelech fled to David to Keilah, he came down with an ephod in his hand.

And it came to pass, when Abiathar H54 the son H1121 of Ahimelech H288 fled H1272 (QalInf) to David H1732 to Keilah, H7084 [that] he came down H3381 (QalPerf) [with] an ephod H646 in his hand. H3027

And it cometh to pass, in the fleeing of Abiathar son of Ahimelech unto David, to Keilah, an ephod came down in his hand.

Saul was told that David had come to Keilah. Saul said, “God has delivered him into my hand, for he is shut in by entering into a town that has gates and bars.”

And it was told H5046 (HophImpf) Saul H7586 that David H1732 was come H935 (QalPerf) to Keilah. H7084 And Saul H7586 said, H559 (QalImpf) God H430 hath delivered H5234 (PielPerf) him into mine hand; H3027 for he is shut in, H5462 (NiphPerf) by entering H935 (QalInf) into a town H5892 that hath gates H1817 and bars. And it is declared to Saul that David hath come in to Keilah, and Saul saith, ‘God hath made him known for my hand, for he hath been shut in, to enter into a city of doors and bar.’

Will the men of Keilah deliver me up into his hand? Will Saul come down, as your servant has heard? Yahweh, the God of Israel, I beg you, tell your servant.” Yahweh said, “He will come down.”

Will the men H1167 of Keilah H7084 deliver me up H5462 (HiphImpf) into his hand? H3027 will Saul H7586 come down, H3381 (QalImpf) as thy servant H5650 hath heard? Do the possessors of Keilah shut me up into his hand? doth Saul come down as Thy servant hath heard? Jehovah, God of Israel, declare, I pray Thee, to Thy servant.’ And Jehovah saith, ‘He doth come down.’

Then David said, “Will the men of Keilah deliver me and my men into the hand of Saul?” Yahweh said, “They will deliver you up.”

Then said H559 (QalImpf) David, H1732 Will the men H1167 of Keilah H7084 deliver H5462 (HiphImpf) me and my men H582 into the hand H3027 of Saul? H7586 And the Lord H3068 said, H559 (QalImpf) They will deliver [thee] up. H5462 (HiphImpf)

And David saith, ‘Do the possessors of Keilah shut me up, and my men, into the hand of Saul?’ And Jehovah saith, ‘They shut thee up.’

David stayed in the wilderness in the strongholds, and remained in the hill country in the wilderness of Ziph. Saul sought him every day, but God didn’t deliver him into his hand.

And David H1732 abode H3427 (QalImpf) in the wilderness H4057 in strong holds, H4679 and remained H3427 (QalImpf) in a mountain H2022 in the wilderness H4057 of Ziph. H2128 And Saul H7586 sought H1245 (PielImpf) him every day, H3117 but God H430 delivered H5414 (QalPerf) him not into his hand. H3027

And David abideth in the wilderness, in fortresses, and abideth in the hill-country, in the wilderness of Ziph; and Saul seeketh him all the days, and God hath not given him into his hand.

Jonathan, Saul’s son, arose and went to David into the woods, and strengthened his hand in God.

And Jonathan H3083 Saul’s H7586 son H1121 arose, H6965 (QalImpf) and went H3212 (QalImpf) to David H1732 into the wood, H2793 and strengthened H2388 (PielImpf) his hand H3027 in God. H430

And Jonathan son of Saul riseth, and goeth unto David to the forest, and strengtheneth his hand in God,

He said to him, “Don’t be afraid, for the hand of Saul my father won’t find you; and you will be king over Israel, and I will be next to you; and Saul my father knows that also.”

And he said H559 (QalImpf) unto him, Fear H3372 (QalImpf) not: for the hand H3027 of Saul H7586 my father H1 shall not find H4672 (QalImpf) thee; and thou shalt be king H4427 (QalImpf) over Israel, H3478 and I shall be next H4932 unto thee; and that also Saul H7586 my father H1 knoweth. and saith unto him, ‘Fear not, for the hand of Saul my father doth not find thee, and thou dost reign over Israel, and I am to thee for second, and also so knoweth Saul my father.’

Now therefore, O king, come down. According to all the desire of your soul to come down; and our part will be to deliver him up into the king’s hand.”

And, now, by all the desire of thy soul, O king, to come down, come down, and ours is to shut him up into the hand of the king.’

And the men of David say unto him, ‘Lo, the day of which Jehovah said unto thee, Lo, I am giving thine enemy into thy hand, and thou hast done to him as it is good in thine eyes;’ and David riseth and cutteth off the skirt of the upper robe which is on Saul-gently.

and he saith to his men, ‘Far be it from me, by Jehovah; I do not do this thing to my lord-to the anointed of Jehovah-to put forth my hand against him, for the anointed of Jehovah he is.’

Behold, today your eyes have seen how Yahweh had delivered you today into my hand in the cave. Some urged me to kill you, but I spared you. I said, ‘I will not stretch out my hand against my lord, for he is Yahweh’s anointed.’

Lo, this day have thine eyes seen how that Jehovah hath given thee to-day into my hand in the cave; and one said to slay thee, and mine eye hath pity on thee, and I say, I do not put forth my hand against my lord, for the anointed of Jehovah he is.

Moreover, my father, behold, yes, see the skirt of your robe in my hand; for in that I cut off the skirt of your robe and didn’t kill you, know and see that there is neither evil nor disobedience in my hand. I have not sinned against you, though you hunt for my life to take it.

May Yahweh judge between me and you, and may Yahweh avenge me of you; but my hand will not be on you.

‘Jehovah doth judge between me and thee, and Jehovah hath avenged me of thee, and my hand is not on thee;

As the proverb of the ancients says, ‘Out of the wicked comes wickedness;’ but my hand will not be on you.

as saith the simile of the ancients, From the wicked goeth out wickedness, and my hand is not on thee.

May Yahweh therefore be judge, and give sentence between me and you, and see, and plead my cause, and deliver me out of your hand.”

And Jehovah hath been for judge, and hath judged between me and thee, yea, he seeth and pleadeth my cause, and doth deliver me out of thy hand.’

You have declared today how you have dealt well with me, because when Yahweh had delivered me up into your hand, you didn’t kill me.

and thou hast declared to-day how that thou hast done good with me, how that Jehovah shut me up into thy hand, and thou didst not slay me,

Now, behold, I know that you will surely be king, and that the kingdom of Israel will be established in your hand.

‘And, now, lo, I have known that thou dost certainly reign, and the kingdom of Israel hath stood in thy hand;

Ask your young men, and they will tell you. Therefore let the young men find favor in your eyes, for we come on a good day. Please give whatever comes to your hand to your servants and to your son David.’ ”

Now therefore, my lord, as Yahweh lives and as your soul lives, since Yahweh has withheld you from blood guiltiness and from avenging yourself with your own hand, now therefore let your enemies and those who seek evil to my lord be as Nabal.

and now, my lord, Jehovah liveth, and thy soul liveth, in that Jehovah hath withheld thee from coming in with blood, and to save thy hand to thee-now let thine enemies be as Nabal, even those seeking evil unto my lord.

Blessed is your discretion, and blessed are you, who have kept me today from blood guiltiness, and from avenging myself with my own hand.
