Yahweh didn’t say that he would blot out the name of Israel from under the sky; but he saved them by the hand of Jeroboam the son of Joash.

and Jehovah hath not spoken to blot out the name of Israel from under the heavens, and saveth them by the hand of Jeroboam son of Joash.

Pul the king of Assyria came against the land, and Menahem gave Pul one thousand talents° of silver, that his hand might be with him to confirm the kingdom in his hand.

Pul king of Asshur hath come against the land, and Menahem giveth to Pul a thousand talents of silver, for his hand being with him to strengthen the kingdom in his hand.

It was so because the children of Israel had sinned against Yahweh their God, who brought them up out of the land of Egypt from under the hand of Pharaoh king of Egypt, and had feared other gods,

And it cometh to pass, because the sons of Israel have sinned against Jehovah their God-who bringeth them up out of the land of Egypt, from under the hand of Pharaoh king of Egypt-and fear other gods,

Yet Yahweh testified to Israel and to Judah, by every prophet and every seer, saying, “Turn from your evil ways, and keep my commandments and my statutes, according to all the law which I commanded your fathers, and which I sent to you by my servants the prophets.”

Yet the Lord H3068 testified H5749 (HiphImpf) against Israel, H3478 and against Judah, H3063 by H3027 all the prophets, H5030 [and by] all the seers, H2374 saying, H559 (QalInf) Turn H7725 (QalImpv) ye from your evil H7451 ways, H1870 and keep H8104 (QalImpv) my commandments H4687 [and] my statutes, H2708 according to all the law H8451 which I commanded H6680 (PielPerf) your fathers, H1 and which I sent H7971 (QalPerf) to you by H3027 my servants H5650 the prophets. H5030

And Jehovah testifieth against Israel, and against Judah, by the hand of every prophet, and every seer, saying, ‘Turn back from your evil ways, and keep My commands, My statutes, according to all the law that I commanded your fathers, and that I sent unto you by the hand of My servants the prophets;’

Yahweh rejected all the offspring of Israel, afflicted them, and delivered them into the hands of raiders, until he had cast them out of his sight.

And the Lord H3068 rejected H3988 (QalImpf) all the seed H2233 of Israel, H3478 and afflicted H6031 (PielImpf) them, and delivered H5414 (QalImpf) them into the hand H3027 of spoilers, H8154 (QalActPtc) until he had cast H7993 (HiphPerf) them out of his sight. H6440

And Jehovah kicketh against all the seed of Israel, and afflicteth them, and giveth them into the hand of spoilers, till that He hath cast them out of His presence,

until Yahweh removed Israel out of his sight, as he said by all his servants the prophets. So Israel was carried away out of their own land to Assyria to this day.

till that Jehovah hath turned Israel aside from His presence, as He spake by the hand of all His servants the prophets, and Israel is removed from off its land to Asshur, unto this day.

But you shall fear Yahweh your God, and he will deliver you out of the hand of all your enemies.”

But the Lord H3068 your God H430 ye shall fear; H3372 (QalImpf) and he shall deliver H5337 (HiphImpf) you out of the hand H3027 of all your enemies. H341 (QalActPtc)

but Jehovah your God ye do fear, and He doth deliver you out of the hand of all your enemies;’

The king says, ‘Don’t let Hezekiah deceive you, for he will not be able to deliver you out of his hand.

Thus saith H559 (QalPerf) the king, H4428 Let not Hezekiah H2396 deceive H5377 (HiphImpf) you: for he shall not be able H3201 (QalImpf) to deliver H5337 (HiphInf) you out of his hand: H3027

thus said the king, Let not Hezekiah lift you up, for he is not able to deliver you out of his hand;

Don’t let Hezekiah make you trust in Yahweh, saying, “Yahweh will surely deliver us, and this city shall not be given into the hand of the king of Assyria.”

Neither let Hezekiah H2396 make you trust H982 (HiphImpf) in the Lord, H3068 saying, H559 (QalInf) The Lord H3068 will surely H5337 (HiphInf) deliver H5337 (HiphImpf) us, and this city H5892 shall not be delivered H5414 (NiphImpf) into the hand H3027 of the king H4428 of Assyria. H804

and let not Hezekiah make you trust unto Jehovah, saying, Jehovah doth certainly deliver us, and this city is not given into the hand of the king of Asshur.

Has any of the gods of the nations ever delivered his land out of the hand of the king of Assyria?

Hath any H376 of the gods H430 of the nations H1471 delivered H5337 (HiphPerf) at all H5337 (HiphInf) his land H776 out of the hand H3027 of the king H4428 of Assyria? H804

‘Have the gods of the nations delivered at all each his land out of the hand of the king of Asshur?

Where are the gods of Hamath and of Arpad? Where are the gods of Sepharvaim, of Hena, and Ivvah? Have they delivered Samaria out of my hand?

Where [are] the gods H430 of Hamath, H2574 and of Arpad? H774 where [are] the gods H430 of Sepharvaim, H5617 Hena, H2012 and Ivah? H5755 have they delivered H5337 (HiphPerf) Samaria H8111 out of mine hand? H3027

Where are the gods of Hamath and Arpad? where the gods of Sepharvaim, Hena, and Ivvah, that they have delivered Samaria out of my hand?

Who are they among all the gods of the countries, that have delivered their country out of my hand, that Yahweh should deliver Jerusalem out of my hand?’ ”

Who [are] they among all the gods H430 of the countries, H776 that have delivered H5337 (HiphPerf) their country H776 out of mine hand, H3027 that the Lord H3068 should deliver H5337 (HiphImpf) Jerusalem H3389 out of mine hand? H3027

Who are they among all the gods of the lands that have delivered their land out of my hand, that Jehovah doth deliver Jerusalem out of my hand?’

“Tell Hezekiah king of Judah this: ‘Don’t let your God in whom you trust deceive you, saying, Jerusalem will not be given into the hand of the king of Assyria.

Thus shall ye speak H559 (QalImpf) to Hezekiah H2396 king H4428 of Judah, H3063 saying, H559 (QalInf) Let not thy God H430 in whom thou trustest H982 (QalActPtc) deceive H5377 (HiphImpf) thee, saying, H559 (QalInf) Jerusalem H3389 shall not be delivered H5414 (NiphImpf) into the hand H3027 of the king H4428 of Assyria. ‘Thus do ye speak unto Hezekiah king of Judah, saying, Let not thy God lift thee up in whom thou art trusting, saying, Jerusalem is not given into the hand of the king of Asshur.

Hezekiah received the letter from the hand of the messengers and read it. Then Hezekiah went up to Yahweh’s house, and spread it before Yahweh.

And Hezekiah H2396 received H3947 (QalImpf) the letter H5612 of the hand H3027 of the messengers, H4397 and read H7121 (QalImpf) it: and Hezekiah H2396 went up H5927 (QalImpf) into the house H1004 of the Lord, H3068 and spread H6566 (QalImpf) it before H6440 the Lord. H3068

And Hezekiah taketh the letters out of the hand of the messengers, and readeth them, and goeth up to the house of Jehovah, and Hezekiah spreadeth it before Jehovah.

and have cast their gods into the fire; for they were no gods, but the work of men’s hands, wood and stone. Therefore they have destroyed them.

Now therefore, Yahweh our God, save us, I beg you, out of his hand, that all the kingdoms of the earth may know that you, Yahweh, are God alone.”

Now therefore, O Lord H3068 our God, H430 I beseech thee, save H3467 (HiphImpv) thou us out of his hand, H3027 that all the kingdoms H4467 of the earth H776 may know H3045 (QalImpf) that thou [art] the Lord H3068 God, H430 [even] thou only.

And now, O Jehovah our God, save us, we pray Thee, out of his hand, and know do all kingdoms of the earth that Thou art Jehovah God-Thyself alone.’

By your messengers, you have defied the Lord, and have said, “With the multitude of my chariots, I have come up to the height of the mountains, to the innermost parts of Lebanon, and I will cut down its tall cedars and its choice cypress trees; and I will enter into his farthest lodging place, the forest of his fruitful field.

By the hand of thy messengers Thou hast reproached the Lord, and sayest: In the multitude of my chariots I have come up to a high place of mountains- The sides of Lebanon, And I cut down the height of its cedars, The choice of its firs, And I enter the lodging of its extremity, The forest of its Carmel.

Therefore their inhabitants had little power. They were dismayed and confounded. They were like the grass of the field and like the green herb, like the grass on the housetops and like grain blasted before it has grown up.

Therefore their inhabitants H3427 (QalActPtc) were of small H7116 power, H3027 they were dismayed H2865 (QalPerf) and confounded; H954 (QalImpf) they were [as] the grass H6212 of the field, H7704 and [as] the green H3419 herb, H1877 [as] the grass H2682 on the housetops, H1406 and [as corn] blasted H7711 before H6440 it be grown up. And their inhabitants are feeble-handed, They were broken down, and are dried up, They have been the herb of the field, And the greenness of the tender grass, Grass of the roofs, And blasted corn-before it hath risen up!

Yahweh spoke by his servants the prophets, saying,

And the Lord H3068 spake H1696 (PielImpf) by H3027 his servants H5650 the prophets, H5030 saying, H559 (QalInf)

And Jehovah speaketh by the hand of his servants the prophets, saying,

I will cast off the remnant of my inheritance and deliver them into the hands of their enemies. They will become a prey and a plunder to all their enemies,

And I will forsake H5203 (QalPerf) the remnant H7611 of mine inheritance, H5159 and deliver H5414 (QalPerf) them into the hand H3027 of their enemies; H341 (QalActPtc) and they shall become a prey H957 and a spoil H4933 to all their enemies; H341 (QalActPtc)

‘And I have left the remnant of Mine inheritance, and given them into the hand of their enemies, and they have been for a prey and for a spoil to all their enemies,

Let them deliver it into the hand of the workers who have the oversight of Yahweh’s house; and let them give it to the workers who are in Yahweh’s house, to repair the damage to the house,

and they give it into the hand of the doers of the work, the overseers, in the house of Jehovah, and they give it to the doers of the work that is in the house of Jehovah, to strengthen the breach of the house,

However, no accounting shall be asked of them for the money delivered into their hand, for they deal faithfully.”

Howbeit there was no reckoning made H2803 (NiphImpf) with them of the money H3701 that was delivered H5414 (NiphPtc) into their hand, H3027 because they dealt H6213 (QalActPtc) faithfully. H530

only, the silver that is given into their hand is not reckoned with them, for in faithfulness they are dealing.

Shaphan the scribe came to the king, and brought the king word again, and said, “Your servants have emptied out the money that was found in the house, and have delivered it into the hands of the workmen who have the oversight of Yahweh’s house.”

And Shaphan the scribe cometh in unto the king, and bringeth the king back word, and saith, ‘Thy servants have poured out the silver that hath been found in the house, and give it into the hand of the doers of the work, the inspectors, in the house of Jehovah.’

Because they have forsaken me and have burned incense to other gods, that they might provoke me to anger with all the work of their hands, therefore my wrath shall be kindled against this place, and it will not be quenched.’ ”

because that they have forsaken Me, and make perfume to other gods, so as to provoke Me to anger with every work of their hands, and My wrath hath been kindled against this place, and it is not quenched.

Yahweh sent against him bands of the Chaldeans, bands of the Syrians, bands of the Moabites, and bands of the children of Ammon, and sent them against Judah to destroy it, according to Yahweh’s word which he spoke by his servants the prophets.

And the Lord H3068 sent H7971 (PielImpf) against him bands H1416 of the Chaldees, H3778 and bands H1416 of the Syrians, H758 and bands H1416 of the Moabites, H4124 and bands H1416 of the children H1121 of Ammon, H5983 and sent H7971 (PielImpf) them against Judah H3063 to destroy H6 (HiphInf) it, according to the word H1697 of the Lord, H3068 which he spake H1696 (PielPerf) by H3027 his servants H5650 the prophets. and Jehovah sendeth against him the troops of the Chaldeans, and the troops of Aram, and the troops of Moab, and the troops of the sons of Ammon, and He sendeth them against Judah to destroy it, according to the word of Jehovah, that He spake by the hand of His servants the prophets;

Jabez called on the God^§ of Israel, saying, “Oh that you would bless me indeed, and enlarge my border! May your hand be with me, and may you keep me from evil, that I may not cause pain!” God granted him that which he requested.

They found rich, good pasture, and the land was wide, and quiet, and peaceful, for those who lived there before were descended from Ham.

Jehozadak went into captivity when Yahweh carried Judah and Jerusalem away by the hand of Nebuchadnezzar.

and Jehozadak hath gone in Jehovah’s removing Judah and Jerusalem by the hand of Nebuchadnezzar.

These are they whom David set over the service of song in Yahweh’s house after the ark came to rest there.

And these [are they] whom David H1732 set H5975 (HiphPerf) over the service H3027 of song H7892 in the house H1004 of the Lord, H3068 after that the ark H727 had rest. H4494

And these are they whom David stationed over the parts of the song of the house of Jehovah, from the resting of the ark,

and by the borders of the children of Manasseh, Beth Shean and its towns, Taanach and its towns, Megiddo and its towns, and Dor and its towns. The children of Joseph the son of Israel lived in these.

and by the parts of the sons of Manasseh, Beth-Shean and its small towns, Taanach and its small towns, Megiddo and its small towns, Dor and its small towns; in these dwelt the sons of Joseph son of Israel.

So all the elders of Israel came to the king to Hebron; and David made a covenant with them in Hebron before Yahweh. They anointed David king over Israel, according to Yahweh’s word by Samuel.

Therefore came H935 (QalImpf) all the elders H2205 of Israel H3478 to the king H4428 to Hebron; H2275 and David H1732 made H3772 (QalImpf) a covenant H1285 with them in Hebron H2275 before H6440 the Lord; H3068 and they anointed H4886 (QalImpf) David H1732 king H4428 over Israel, H3478 according to the word H1697 of the Lord H3068 by H3027 Samuel. And all the elders of Israel come in unto the king to Hebron, and David maketh with them a covenant in Hebron before Jehovah, and they anoint David for king over Israel, according to the word of Jehovah by the hand of Samuel.

He killed an Egyptian, a man of great stature, five cubits° high. In the Egyptian’s hand was a spear like a weaver’s beam; and he went down to him with a staff, plucked the spear out of the Egyptian’s hand, and killed him with his own spear.

When they came to Chidon’s threshing floor, Uzza put out his hand to hold the ark, for the oxen stumbled.

And they come in unto the threshing-floor of Chidon, and Uzza putteth forth his hand to seize the ark, for the oxen were released,

Yahweh’s anger burned against Uzza, and he struck him because he put his hand on the ark; and he died there before God.

and the anger of Jehovah is kindled against Uzza, and He smiteth him, because that he hath put forth his hand on the ark, and he dieth there before God.

David inquired of God, saying, “Shall I go up against the Philistines? Will you deliver them into my hand?” Yahweh said to him, “Go up; for I will deliver them into your hand.”

And David H1732 enquired H7592 (QalImpf) of God, H430 saying, H559 (QalInf) Shall I go up H5927 (QalImpf) against the Philistines? H6430 and wilt thou deliver H5414 (QalPerf) them into mine hand? and David asketh of God, saying, ‘Do I go up against the Philistines-and hast Thou given them into my hand?’ And Jehovah saith to him, ‘Go up, and I have given them into thy hand.’

So they came up to Baal Perazim, and David defeated them there. David said, God has broken my enemies by my hand, like waters breaking out. Therefore they called the name of that place Baal Perazim.°

And they go up into Baal-Perazim, and David smiteth them there, and David saith, ‘God hath broken up mine enemies by my hand, like the breaking up of waters;’ therefore they have called the name of that place Baal-Perazim.

Then on that day David first ordained giving of thanks to Yahweh by the hand of Asaph and his brothers.

Then on that day H3117 David H1732 delivered H5414 (QalPerf) first H7218 [this psalm] to thank H3034 (HiphInf) the Lord H3068 into the hand H3027 of Asaph H623 and his brethren. H251

On that day then hath David given at the beginning to give thanks to Jehovah by the hand of Asaph and his brethren:-

And it cometh to pass after this, that David smiteth the Philistines, and humbleth them, and taketh Gath and its small towns out of the hand of the Philistines;

David defeated Hadadezer king of Zobah, toward Hamath, as he went to establish his dominion by the river Euphrates.

And David smiteth Hadarezer king of Zobah, at Hamath, in his going to establish his power by the river Phrat,

and Benaiah the son of Jehoiada was over the Cherethites and the Pelethites; and the sons of David were chief officials serving the king.

David said to God, “Isn’t it I who commanded the people to be counted? It is even I who have sinned and done very wickedly; but these sheep, what have they done? Please let your hand, O Yahweh my God, be against me and against my father’s house; but not against your people, that they should be plagued.”

And David saith unto God, ‘Did not I-I say to number the people? Yea, I it is who have sinned, and done great evil: and these, the flock, what did they? O Jehovah, my God, let, I pray Thee, Thy hand be on me, and on the house of my father, and not on Thy people-to be plagued.’

“Isn’t Yahweh your God with you? Hasn’t he given you rest on every side? For he has delivered the inhabitants of the land into my hand; and the land is subdued before Yahweh and before his people.

[Is] not the Lord H3068 your God H430 with you? and hath he [not] given you rest H5117 (HiphPerf) on every side? H5439 for he hath given H5414 (QalPerf) the inhabitants H3427 (QalActPtc) of the land H776 into mine hand; H3027 and the land H776 is subdued H3533 (NiphPerf) before H6440 the Lord, H3068 and before H6440 his people. ‘Is not Jehovah your God with you? yea, He hath given rest to you round about, for He hath given into my hand the inhabitants of the land, and subdued hath been the land before His people.
