Micaiah said, “If you return at all in peace, Yahweh has not spoken by me.” He said, “Listen, all you people!”

He walked in all the way of Asa his father. He didn’t turn away from it, doing that which was right in Yahweh’s eyes. However, the high places were not taken away. The people still sacrificed and burned incense on the high places.

He went and sent to Jehoshaphat the king of Judah, saying, “The king of Moab has rebelled against me. Will you go with me against Moab to battle?” He said, “I will go up. I am as you are, my people as your people, my horses as your horses.”

He said to him, “Say now to her, ‘Behold, you have cared for us with all this care. What is to be done for you? Would you like to be spoken for to the king, or to the captain of the army?’” She answered, “I dwell among my own people.”

But he said, “Then bring meal.” He threw it into the pot; and he said, “Serve it to the people, that they may eat.” And there was nothing harmful in the pot.

και ειπεν λαβετε αλευρον και εμβαλετε εις τον λεβητα και ειπεν ελισαιε προς γιεζι το παιδαριον εγχει τω λαω και εσθιετωσαν και ουκ εγενηθη ετι εκει ρημα πονηρον εν τω λεβητι

A man from Baal Shalishah came, and brought the man of God some bread of the first fruits: twenty loaves of barley and fresh ears of grain in his sack. Elisha said, “Give to the people, that they may eat.”

και ανηρ διηλθεν εκ βαιθσαρισα και ηνεγκεν προς τον ανθρωπον του θεου πρωτογενηματων εικοσι αρτους κριθινους και παλαθας και ειπεν δοτε τω λαω και εσθιετωσαν

His servant said, “What, should I set this before a hundred men?” But he said, “Give it to the people, that they may eat; for Yahweh says, ‘They will eat, and will have some left over.’”

The people went out and plundered the camp of the Syrians. So a seah° of fine flour was sold for a shekel, and two measures of barley for a shekel,° according to Yahweh’s word.

2 Kings 7:16a 1 seah is about 7 liters or 1.9 gallons or 0.8 pecks
2 Kings 7:16b A shekel is about 10 grams or about 0.35 ounces. In this context, it was probably a silver coin weighing that much.

And the people H5971 went out, H3318 (QalImpf) and spoiled H962 (QalImpf) the tents H4264 of the Syrians. H758 So a measure H5429 of fine flour H5560 was sold for a shekel, H8255 and two measures H5429 of barley H8184 for a shekel, H8255 according to the word H1697 of the Lord. H3068

The king had appointed the captain on whose hand he leaned to be in charge of the gate; and the people trampled over him in the gate, and he died as the man of God had said, who spoke when the king came down to him.

It happened like that to him, for the people trampled over him in the gate, and he died.

Then Joram crossed over to Zair, and all his chariots with him; and he rose up by night and struck the Edomites who surrounded him with the captains of the chariots; and the people fled to their tents.

Jehoiada made a covenant between Yahweh and the king and the people, that they should be Yahweh’s people; also between the king and the people.

και εισηλθεν πας ο λαος της γης εις οικον του βααλ και κατεσπασαν αυτον και τα θυσιαστηρια αυτου και τας εικονας αυτου συνετριψαν αγαθως και τον ματθαν τον ιερεα του βααλ απεκτειναν κατα προσωπον των θυσιαστηριων και εθηκεν ο ιερευς επισκοπους εις τον οικον κυριου

He took the captains over hundreds, and the Carites, and the guard, and all the people of the land; and they brought down the king from Yahweh’s house, and came by the way of the gate of the guard to the king’s house. He sat on the throne of the kings.

So all the people of the land rejoiced, and the city was quiet. They had slain Athaliah with the sword at the king’s house.

However, the high places were not taken away. The people still sacrificed and burned incense in the high places.

The priests consented that they should take no more money from the people, and not repair the damage to the house.
