“Now you intend to withstand the kingdom of Yahweh in the hand of the sons of David. You are a great multitude, and the golden calves which Jeroboam made you for gods are with you.

He went out to meet Asa, and said to him, “Hear me, Asa, and all Judah and Benjamin! Yahweh is with you while you are with him; and if you seek him, he will be found by you; but if you forsake him, he will forsake you.

2 Chronicles 15:2 Heb. before Asa

και εξηλθεν εις απαντησιν ασα και παντι ιουδα και βενιαμιν και ειπεν ακουσατε μου ασα και πας ιουδα και βενιαμιν κυριος μεθ υμων εν τω ειναι υμας μετ αυτου και εαν εκζητησητε αυτον ευρεθησεται υμιν και εαν εγκαταλιπητε αυτον εγκαταλειψει υμας

When Asa heard these words and the prophecy of Oded the prophet, he took courage, and put away the abominations out of all the land of Judah and Benjamin, and out of the cities which he had taken from the hill country of Ephraim; and he renewed Yahweh’s altar that was before Yahweh’s porch.

και εν τω ακουσαι τους λογους τουτους και την προφητειαν αδαδ του προφητου και κατισχυσεν και εξεβαλεν τα βδελυγματα απο πασης της γης ιουδα και βενιαμιν και απο των πολεων ων κατεσχεν εν ορει εφραιμ και ενεκαινισεν το θυσιαστηριον κυριου ο ην εμπροσθεν του ναου κυριου

A spirit came out, stood before Yahweh, and said, ‘I will entice him.’ “Yahweh said to him, ‘How?’

Now therefore let the fear of Yahweh be on you. Take heed and do it; for there is no iniquity with Yahweh our God, nor respect of persons, nor taking of bribes.”

και νυν γενεσθω φοβος κυριου εφ υμας και φυλασσετε και ποιησετε οτι ουκ εστιν μετα κυριου θεου ημων αδικια ουδε θαυμασαι προσωπον ουδε λαβειν δωρα

Behold, Amariah the chief priest is over you in all matters of Yahweh; and Zebadiah the son of Ishmael, the ruler of the house of Judah, in all the king’s matters. Also the Levites shall be officers before you. Deal courageously, and may Yahweh be with the good.”

Jehoshaphat was alarmed, and set himself to seek to Yahweh. He proclaimed a fast throughout all Judah.

Jehoshaphat stood in the assembly of Judah and Jerusalem, in Yahweh’s house, before the new court;

ουχι συ ει ο κυριος ο εξολεθρευσας τους κατοικουντας την γην ταυτην απο προσωπου του λαου σου ισραηλ και εδωκας αυτην σπερματι αβρααμ τω ηγαπημενω σου εις τον αιωνα

‘If evil comes on us—the sword, judgment, pestilence, or famine—we will stand before this house, and before you (for your name is in this house), and cry to you in our affliction, and you will hear and save.’

εαν επελθη εφ ημας κακα ρομφαια κρισις θανατος λιμος στησομεθα εναντιον του οικου τουτου και εναντιον σου οτι το ονομα σου επι τω οικω τουτω και βοησομεθα προς σε απο της θλιψεως και ακουση και σωσεις

Our God, will you not judge them? For we have no might against this great company that comes against us. We don’t know what to do, but our eyes are on you.”

κυριε ο θεος ημων ου κρινεις εν αυτοις οτι ουκ εστιν ημιν ισχυς του αντιστηναι προς το πληθος το πολυ τουτο το ελθον εφ ημας και ουκ οιδαμεν τι ποιησωμεν αυτοις αλλ η επι σοι οι οφθαλμοι ημων

and he said, “Listen, all Judah, and you inhabitants of Jerusalem, and you, King Jehoshaphat. Yahweh says to you, ‘Don’t be afraid, and don’t be dismayed because of this great multitude; for the battle is not yours, but God’s.
