They said to him, “Hezekiah says, ‘Today is a day of trouble, and of rebuke, and of rejection; for the children have come to the birth, and there is no strength to give birth.

and they say unto him, ‘Thus said Hezekiah, A day of distress, and rebuke, and despising, is this day; for come have sons unto the birth, and power there is not to bear.

So the servants of King Hezekiah came to Isaiah.

And the servants of king Hezekiah come in unto Isaiah,

By your servants, you have defied the Lord, and have said, “With the multitude of my chariots I have come up to the height of the mountains, to the innermost parts of Lebanon. I will cut down its tall cedars and its choice cypress trees. I will enter into its farthest height, the forest of its fruitful field.

By the hand of thy servants Thou hast reviled the Lord, and sayest: In the multitude of my chariots I have come up to a high place of hills, The sides of Lebanon, And I cut down the height of its cedars, The choice of its firs, And I enter the high place of its extremity, The forest of its Carmel.

“ ‘Have you not heard how I have done it long ago, and formed it in ancient times? Now I have brought it to pass, that it should be yours to destroy fortified cities, turning them into ruinous heaps.

Hast thou not heard H8085 (QalPerf) long ago, H7350 [how] I have done H6213 (QalPerf) it; [and] of ancient H6924 times, H3117 that I have formed H3335 (QalPerf) it? now have I brought H935 (HiphPerf) it to pass, that thou shouldest be to lay waste H7582 (HiphInf) defenced H1219 (QalPasPtc) cities H5892 [into] ruinous H5327 (NiphPtc) heaps. Hast thou not heard from afar?-it I did, From days of old-that I formed it. Now, I have brought it in, And it is to make desolate, Ruinous heaps-fenced cities,

But I know your sitting down, your going out, your coming in, and your raging against me.

But I know H3045 (QalPerf) thy abode, H3427 (QalInf) and thy going out, H3318 (QalInf) and thy coming in, H935 (QalInf) and thy rage H7264 (HithInf) against me.

And thy sitting down, and thy going out, And thy coming in, I have known, And thy anger towards Me.

Because of your raging against me, and because your arrogance has come up into my ears, therefore I will put my hook in your nose and my bridle in your lips, and I will turn you back by the way by which you came.

Because thy rage H7264 (HithInf) against me, and thy tumult, H7600 is come up H5927 (QalPerf) into mine ears, H241 therefore will I put H7760 (QalPerf) my hook H2397 in thy nose, H639 and my bridle H4964 in thy lips, H8193 and I will turn thee back H7725 (HiphPerf) by the way H1870 by which thou camest. Because of thy anger towards Me, And thy noise-it came up into Mine ears, I have put My hook in thy nose, And My bridle in thy lips, And I have caused thee to turn back In the way in which thou camest.

“Therefore Yahweh says concerning the king of Assyria, ‘He will not come to this city, nor shoot an arrow there, neither will he come before it with shield, nor cast up a mound against it.

Therefore thus saith H559 (QalPerf) the Lord H3068 concerning the king H4428 of Assyria, H804 He shall not come H935 (QalImpf) into this city, H5892 nor shoot H3384 (HiphImpf) an arrow H2671 there, nor come before H6923 (PielImpf) it with shields, H4043 nor cast H8210 (QalImpf) a bank H5550 against it.

Therefore, thus said Jehovah, Concerning the king of Asshur: He doth not come in unto this city, Nor doth he shoot there an arrow, Nor doth he come before it with shield, Nor doth he pour out against it a mount.

He will return the way that he came, and he won’t come to this city,’ says Yahweh.

In the way that he came, in it he turneth back, And unto this city he doth not come in, An affirmation of Jehovah,

In those days Hezekiah was sick and near death. Isaiah the prophet, the son of Amoz, came to him, and said to him, “Yahweh says, ‘Set your house in order, for you will die, and not live.’ ”

In those days hath Hezekiah been sick unto death, and come in unto him doth Isaiah son of Amoz, the prophet, and saith unto him, ‘Thus said Jehovah: Give a charge to thy house, for thou art dying, and dost not live.’

Then Isaiah the prophet came to King Hezekiah, and asked him, “What did these men say? From where did they come to you?” Hezekiah said, “They have come from a country far from me, even from Babylon.”

And Isaiah the prophet cometh in unto king Hezekiah, and saith unto him, ‘What said these men? and whence come they unto thee?’ And Hezekiah saith, ‘From a land afar off they have come unto me-from Babylon.’

‘Behold, the days are coming when all that is in your house, and that which your fathers have stored up until today, will be carried to Babylon. Nothing will be left,’ says Yahweh.

Lo, days are coming, and borne hath been all that is in thy house, and that thy fathers have treasured up till this day, to Babylon; there is not left a thing, said Jehovah;

Behold, the Lord Yahweh will come as a mighty one, and his arm will rule for him. Behold, his reward is with him, and his recompense before him.

Behold, the Lord H136 God H3069 will come H935 (QalImpf) with strong H2389 [hand], and his arm H2220 shall rule H4910 (QalActPtc) for him: behold, his reward H7939 [is] with him, and his work H6468 before H6440 him.

Lo, the Lord Jehovah with strength cometh, And His arm is ruling for Him, Lo, His hire is with Him, and His wage before Him.

He pursues them and passes by safely, even by a way that he had not gone with his feet.

He pursueth them, he passeth over in safety A path with his feet he entereth not.

“Let them announce and declare to us what will happen! Declare the former things, what they are, that we may consider them, and know the latter end of them; or show us things to come.

They bring nigh, and declare to us that which doth happen, The first things-what they are declare ye, And we set our heart, and know their latter end, Or the coming things cause us to hear.

“I have raised up one from the north, and he has come, from the rising of the sun, one who calls on my name, and he shall come on rulers as on mortar, and as the potter treads clay.

I have stirred up one from the north, And he cometh, From the rising of the sun he calleth in My name, And he cometh in on prefects as on clay, And as a potter treadeth down mire.

Behold, the former things have happened and I declare new things. I tell you about them before they come up.”

Behold, the former things H7223 are come to pass, H935 (QalPerf) and new things H2319 do I declare: H5046 (HiphPtc) before they spring forth H6779 (QalImpf) I tell H8085 (HiphImpf) you of them.

The former things, lo, have come, And new things I am declaring, Before they spring up I cause you to hear.

Don’t be afraid, for I am with you. I will bring your offspring from the east, and gather you from the west.

Be not afraid, for I am with thee, From the east I bring in thy seed, And from the west I gather thee.

I will tell the north, ‘Give them up!’ and tell the south, ‘Don’t hold them back! Bring my sons from far away, and my daughters from the ends of the earth—

I am saying to the north, ‘Give up,’ And to the south, ‘Restrain not.’ Bring in My sons from afar, And My daughters from the end of the earth.

You have not brought me any of your sheep for burnt offerings, neither have you honored me with your sacrifices. I have not burdened you with offerings, nor wearied you with frankincense.

Thou hast not brought H935 (HiphPerf) me the small cattle H7716 of thy burnt offerings; H5930 neither hast thou honoured H3513 (PielPerf) me with thy sacrifices. H2077 I have not caused thee to serve H5647 (HiphPerf) with an offering, H4503 nor wearied H3021 (HiphPerf) thee with incense. H3828

Thou hast not brought in to Me, The lamb of thy burnt-offerings, And with thy sacrifices thou hast not honoured Me, I have not caused thee to serve with a present, Nor wearied thee with frankincense.

Who is like me? Who will call, and will declare it, and set it in order for me, since I established the ancient people? Let them declare the things that are coming, and that will happen.

And who, as I, shall call, H7121 (QalImpf) and shall declare H5046 (HiphImpf) it, and set it in order H6186 (QalImpf) for me, since I appointed H7760 (QalInf) the ancient H5769 people? H5971 and the things that are coming, H857 (QalActPtc) and shall come, H935 (QalImpf) let them shew H5046 (HiphImpf) unto them.

And who as I, doth call and declare it, And arrange it for Me, Since My placing the people of antiquity, And things that are coming, And those that do come, declare they to them?

“Assemble yourselves and come. Draw near together, you who have escaped from the nations. Those have no knowledge who carry the wood of their engraved image, and pray to a god that can’t save.

Be gathered, and come in, Come nigh together, ye escaped of the nations, They have not known, Who are lifting up the wood of their graven image, And praying unto a god that saveth not.

They will say of me, ‘There is righteousness and strength only in Yahweh.’ ” Even to him will men come. All those who raged against him will be disappointed.

Surely, shall [one] say, H559 (QalPerf) in the Lord H3068 have I righteousness H6666 and strength: H5797 [even] to him shall [men] come; H935 (QalImpf) and all that are incensed H2734 (NiphPtc) against him shall be ashamed. H954 (QalImpf)

Only in Jehovah, said hath one, Have I righteousness and strength, Unto Him he cometh in, And ashamed are all those displeased with Him.

I call a ravenous bird from the east, the man of my counsel from a far country. Yes, I have spoken. I will also bring it to pass. I have planned. I will also do it.

Calling from the east a ravenous bird, From a far land the man of My counsel, Yea, I have spoken, yea, I bring it in, I have formed it, yea, I do it.

“Sit in silence, and go into darkness, daughter of the Chaldeans. For you shall no longer be called the mistress of kingdoms.

Sit silent, and go into darkness, O daughter of the Chaldeans, For no more do they cry to thee, ‘Mistress of kingdoms.’

But these two things will come to you in a moment in one day: the loss of children and widowhood. They will come on you in their full measure, in the multitude of your sorceries, and the great abundance of your enchantments.

But these two H8147 [things] shall come H935 (QalImpf) to thee in a moment H7281 in one H259 day, H3117 the loss of children, H7908 and widowhood: H489 they shall come H935 (QalPerf) upon thee in their perfection H8537 for the multitude H7230 of thy sorceries, H3785 [and] for the great H3966 abundance H6109 of thine enchantments. And come in to thee do these two things, In a moment, in one day, childlessness and widowhood, According to their perfection they have come upon thee, In the multitude of thy sorceries, In the exceeding might of thy charms.

Therefore disaster will come on you. You won’t know when it dawns. Mischief will fall on you. You won’t be able to put it away. Desolation will come on you suddenly, which you don’t understand.

Therefore shall evil H7451 come H935 (QalPerf) upon thee; thou shalt not know H3045 (QalImpf) from whence it riseth: H7837 and mischief H1943 shall fall H5307 (QalImpf) upon thee; thou shalt not be able H3201 (QalImpf) to put it off: H3722 (PielInf) and desolation H7722 shall come H935 (QalImpf) upon thee suddenly, H6597 [which] thou shalt not know. And come in on thee hath evil, Thou knowest not its rising, And fall on thee doth mischief, Thou art not able to pacify it, And come on thee suddenly doth desolation, Thou knowest not.

You are wearied in the multitude of your counsels. Now let the astrologers, the stargazers, and the monthly prognosticators stand up and save you from the things that will happen to you.

Thou hast been wearied in the multitude of thy counsels, Stand up, I pray thee, and save thee, Let the charmers of the heavens, Those looking on the stars, Those teaching concerning the months, From those things that come on thee!

I have declared the former things from of old. Yes, they went out of my mouth, and I revealed them. I did them suddenly, and they happened.

The former things from that time I declared, And from my mouth they have gone forth, And I proclaim them, Suddenly I have done, and it cometh.

therefore I have declared it to you from of old; before it came to pass I showed it to you; lest you should say, ‘My idol has done them. My engraved image and my molten image has commanded them.’

And I declare to thee from that time, Before it cometh I have caused thee to hear, Lest thou say, ‘Mine idol hath done them, And my graven image, And my molten image did command them.

I, even I, have spoken. Yes, I have called him. I have brought him and he shall make his way prosperous.

I-I have spoken, yea, I have called him, I have brought him in, And he hath made prosperous his way.

Behold, these shall come from afar, and behold, these from the north and from the west, and these from the land of Sinim.”

Lo, these from afar come in, And lo, these from the north, and from the sea, And these from the land of Sinim.

Lift up your eyes all around, and see: all these gather themselves together, and come to you. As I live,” says Yahweh, “you shall surely clothe yourself with them all as with an ornament, and dress yourself with them, like a bride.

Lift up round about thine eyes and see, All of them have been gathered, They have come to thee. I live, an affirmation of Jehovah! Surely all of them as an ornament thou puttest on, And thou bindest them on like a bride.

The Lord Yahweh says, “Behold, I will lift up my hand to the nations, and lift up my banner to the peoples. They shall bring your sons in their bosom, and your daughters shall be carried on their shoulders.

Thus saith H559 (QalPerf) the Lord H136 God, H3069 Behold, I will lift up H5375 (QalImpf) mine hand H3027 to the Gentiles, H1471 and set up H7311 (HiphImpf) my standard H5251 to the people: H5971 and they shall bring H935 (HiphPerf) thy sons H1121 in [their] arms, H2684 and thy daughters H1323 shall be carried H5375 (NiphImpf) upon [their] shoulders. Thus said the Lord Jehovah: ‘Lo, I lift up unto nations My hand, And unto peoples I raise up Mine ensign, And they have brought thy sons in the bosom, And thy daughters on the shoulder are carried.

Why, when I came, was there no one? When I called, why was there no one to answer? Is my hand shortened at all, that it can’t redeem? Or have I no power to deliver? Behold, at my rebuke I dry up the sea. I make the rivers a wilderness. Their fish stink because there is no water, and die of thirst.

Wherefore, when I came, H935 (QalPerf) [was there] no man? H376 when I called, H7121 (QalPerf) [was there] none to answer? Wherefore have I come, and there is no one? I called, and there is none answering, Hath My hand been at all short of redemption? And is there not in me power to deliver? Lo, by My rebuke I dry up a sea, I make rivers a wilderness, Their fish stinketh, for there is no water, And dieth with thirst.

Those ransomed by Yahweh will return, and come with singing to Zion. Everlasting joy shall be on their heads. They will obtain gladness and joy. Sorrow and sighing shall flee away.

Therefore the redeemed H6299 (QalPasPtc) of the Lord H3068 shall return, H7725 (QalImpf) and come H935 (QalPerf) with singing H7440 unto Zion; H6726 and everlasting H5769 joy H8057 [shall be] upon their head: H7218 they shall obtain H5381 (HiphImpf) gladness H8342 and joy; H8057 [and] sorrow H3015 and mourning H585 shall flee away. And the ransomed of Jehovah turn back, And they have come to Zion with singing, And joy age-during is on their head, Gladness and joy they attain, Fled away have sorrow and sighing,

Awake, awake! Put on your strength, Zion. Put on your beautiful garments, Jerusalem, the holy city, for from now on the uncircumcised and the unclean will no more come into you.

Awake, H5782 (QalImpv) awake; H5782 (QalImpv) put on H3847 (QalImpv) thy strength, H5797 O Zion; H6726 put on H3847 (QalImpv) thy beautiful H8597 garments, H899 O Jerusalem, H3389 the holy H6944 city: H5892 for henceforth there shall no more H3254 (HiphImpf) come H935 (QalImpf) into thee the uncircumcised H6189 and the unclean. Awake, awake, put on thy strength, O Zion, Put on the garments of thy beauty, Jerusalem-the Holy City; For enter no more into thee again, Do the uncircumcised and unclean.

Yahweh says: “Maintain justice and do what is right, for my salvation is near and my righteousness will soon be revealed.

Thus saith H559 (QalPerf) the Lord, H3068 Keep H8104 (QalImpv) ye judgment, H4941 and do H6213 (QalImpv) justice: H6666 for my salvation H3444 [is] near H7138 to come, H935 (QalInf) and my righteousness H6666 to be revealed. H1540 (NiphInf)

Thus said Jehovah: ‘Keep ye judgment, and do righteousness, For near is My salvation to come, And My righteousness to be revealed.’

I will bring these to my holy mountain, and make them joyful in my house of prayer. Their burnt offerings and their sacrifices will be accepted on my altar; for my house will be called a house of prayer for all peoples.”

Even them will I bring H935 (HiphPerf) to my holy H6944 mountain, H2022 and make them joyful H8055 (PielPerf) in my house H1004 of prayer: H8605 their burnt offerings H5930 and their sacrifices H2077 [shall be] accepted H7522 upon mine altar; H4196 for mine house H1004 shall be called H7121 (NiphImpf) an house H1004 of prayer H8605 for all people. I have brought them unto My holy mountain, And caused them to rejoice in My house of prayer, Their burnt-offerings and their sacrifices Are for a pleasing thing on Mine altar, For My house, ‘A house of prayer,’ Is called for all the peoples.

He enters into peace. They rest in their beds, each one who walks in his uprightness.

He shall enter H935 (QalImpf) into peace: H7965 they shall rest H5117 (QalImpf) in their beds, H4904 [each one] walking H1980 (QalActPtc) [in] his uprightness. H5228

He entereth into peace, they rest on their beds, Each is going straightforward.

Isn’t it to distribute your bread to the hungry, and that you bring the poor who are cast out to your house? When you see the naked, that you cover him; and that you not hide yourself from your own flesh?

[Is it] not to deal H6536 (QalInf) thy bread H3899 to the hungry, H7457 and that thou bring H935 (HiphImpf) the poor H6041 that are cast out H4788 to thy house?
