Genesis 8:21 Heb. a savour of rest Or, satisfaction

εαν ωσιν πεντηκοντα δικαιοι εν τη πολει απολεις αυτους ουκ ανησεις παντα τον τοπον ενεκεν των πεντηκοντα δικαιων εαν ωσιν εν αυτη

May it be far from you to do things like that, to kill the righteous with the wicked, so that the righteous should be like the wicked. May that be far from you. Shouldn’t the Judge of all the earth do right?”

μηδαμως συ ποιησεις ως το ρημα τουτο του αποκτειναι δικαιον μετα ασεβους και εσται ο δικαιος ως ο ασεβης μηδαμως ο κρινων πασαν την γην ου ποιησεις κρισιν

What if there will lack five of the fifty righteous? Will you destroy all the city for lack of five?” He said, “I will not destroy it if I find forty-five there.”

εαν δε ελαττονωθωσιν οι πεντηκοντα δικαιοι πεντε απολεις ενεκεν των πεντε πασαν την πολιν και ειπεν ου μη απολεσω εαν ευρω εκει τεσσαρακοντα πεντε

He spoke to him yet again, and said, “What if there are forty found there?” He said, “I will not do it for the forty’s sake.”

And he spake H1696 (PielInf) unto him yet again, H3254 (HiphImpf) and said, H559 (QalImpf) Peradventure there shall be forty H705 found H4672 (NiphImpf) there. And he said, H559 (QalImpf) I will not do H6213 (QalImpf) it for forty’s H705 sake.

και προσεθηκεν ετι λαλησαι προς αυτον και ειπεν εαν δε ευρεθωσιν εκει τεσσαρακοντα και ειπεν ου μη απολεσω ενεκεν των τεσσαρακοντα

He said, “Oh don’t let the Lord be angry, and I will speak. What if there are thirty found there?” He said, “I will not do it if I find thirty there.”

και ειπεν μη τι κυριε εαν λαλησω εαν δε ευρεθωσιν εκει τριακοντα και ειπεν ου μη απολεσω εαν ευρω εκει τριακοντα

He said, “See now, I have taken it on myself to speak to the Lord. What if there are twenty found there?” He said, “I will not destroy it for the twenty’s sake.”

And he said, H559 (QalImpf) Behold now, I have taken upon me H2974 (HiphPerf) to speak H1696 (PielInf) unto the Lord: H136 Peradventure there shall be twenty H6242 found H4672 (NiphImpf) there. And he said, H559 (QalImpf) I will not destroy H7843 (HiphImpf) it for twenty’s H6242 sake.

και ειπεν επειδη εχω λαλησαι προς τον κυριον εαν δε ευρεθωσιν εκει εικοσι και ειπεν ου μη απολεσω ενεκεν των εικοσι

He said, “Oh don’t let the Lord be angry, and I will speak just once more. What if ten are found there?” He said, “I will not destroy it for the ten’s sake.”

And he said, H559 (QalImpf) Oh let not the Lord H136 be angry, H2734 (QalImpf) and I will speak H1696 (PielImpf) yet H389 but this once: H6471 Peradventure ten H6235 shall be found H4672 (NiphImpf) there. And he said, H559 (QalImpf) I will not destroy H7843 (HiphImpf) it for ten’s H6235 sake.

και ειπεν μη τι κυριε εαν λαλησω ετι απαξ εαν δε ευρεθωσιν εκει δεκα και ειπεν ου μη απολεσω ενεκεν των δεκα

and he said, “See now, my lords, please come into your servant’s house, stay all night, wash your feet, and you can rise up early, and go on your way.” They said, “No, but we will stay in the street all night.”
