υμεις εβουλευσασθε κατ εμου εις πονηρα ο δε θεος εβουλευσατο περι εμου εις αγαθα οπως αν γενηθη ως σημερον ινα διατραφη λαος πολυς

He said to his people, “Behold,^§ the people of the children of Israel are more and mightier than we.

Exodus 1:9 “Behold”, from “הִנֵּה”, means look at, take notice, observe, see, or gaze at. It is often used as an interjection.

He said, “Certainly I will be with you. This will be the token to you, that I have sent you: when you have brought the people out of Egypt, you shall serve God on this mountain.”

ειπεν δε κυριος προς μωυσην πορευομενου σου και αποστρεφοντος εις αιγυπτον ορα παντα τα τερατα α εδωκα εν ταις χερσιν σου ποιησεις αυτα εναντιον φαραω εγω δε σκληρυνω την καρδιαν αυτου και ου μη εξαποστειλη τον λαον

Aaron spoke all the words which Yahweh had spoken to Moses, and did the signs in the sight of the people.

and Aaron H175 spake H1696 (PielImpf) all the words H1697 which the Lord H3068 had spoken H1696 (PielPerf) unto Moses, H4872 and did H6213 (QalImpf) the signs H226 in the sight H5869 of the people. H5971

και ελαλησεν ααρων παντα τα ρηματα ταυτα α ελαλησεν ο θεος προς μωυσην και εποιησεν τα σημεια εναντιον του λαου

The people believed, and when they heard that Yahweh had visited the children of Israel, and that he had seen their affliction, then they bowed their heads and worshiped.

And the people H5971 believed: H539 (HiphImpf) and when they heard H8085 (QalImpf) that the Lord H3068 had visited H6485 (QalPerf) the children H1121 of Israel, H3478 and that he had looked H7200 (QalPerf) upon their affliction, H6040 then they bowed their heads H6915 (QalImpf) and worshipped. και επιστευσεν ο λαος και εχαρη οτι επεσκεψατο ο θεος τους υιους ισραηλ και οτι ειδεν αυτων την θλιψιν κυψας δε ο λαος προσεκυνησεν

Afterward Moses and Aaron came, and said to Pharaoh, “This is what Yahweh, the God of Israel, says, ‘Let my people go, that they may hold a feast to me in the wilderness.’”

και μετα ταυτα εισηλθεν μωυσης και ααρων προς φαραω και ειπαν αυτω ταδε λεγει κυριος ο θεος ισραηλ εξαποστειλον τον λαον μου ινα μοι εορτασωσιν εν τη ερημω

The king of Egypt said to them, “Why do you, Moses and Aaron, take the people from their work? Get back to your burdens!”

And the king H4428 of Egypt H4714 said H559 (QalImpf) unto them, Wherefore do ye, Moses H4872 and Aaron, H175 let H6544 (HiphImpf) the people H5971 from their works? H4639 get H3212 (QalImpv) you unto your burdens. H5450

και ειπεν αυτοις ο βασιλευς αιγυπτου ινα τι μωυση και ααρων διαστρεφετε τον λαον μου απο των εργων απελθατε εκαστος υμων προς τα εργα αυτου

Pharaoh said, “Behold, the people of the land are now many, and you make them rest from their burdens.”

And Pharaoh H6547 said, H559 (QalImpf) Behold, the people H5971 of the land H776 now are many, H7227 and ye make them rest H7673 (HiphPerf) from their burdens. H5450

και ειπεν φαραω ιδου νυν πολυπληθει ο λαος μη ουν καταπαυσωμεν αυτους απο των εργων

The same day Pharaoh commanded the taskmasters of the people and their officers, saying,

And Pharaoh H6547 commanded H6680 (PielImpf) the same day H3117 the taskmasters H5065 (QalActPtc) of the people, H5971 and their officers, H7860 (QalActPtc) saying, H559 (QalInf)

συνεταξεν δε φαραω τοις εργοδιωκταις του λαου και τοις γραμματευσιν λεγων

“You shall no longer give the people straw to make brick, as before. Let them go and gather straw for themselves.

Ye shall no more H3254 (HiphImpf) give H5414 (QalInf) the people H5971 straw H8401 to make H3835 (QalInf) brick, H3843 as heretofore: H8032 H8543 let them go H3212 (QalImpf) and gather H7197 (PoelPerf) straw H8401 for themselves.

ουκετι προστεθησεται διδοναι αχυρον τω λαω εις την πλινθουργιαν καθαπερ εχθες και τριτην ημεραν αυτοι πορευεσθωσαν και συναγαγετωσαν εαυτοις αχυρα

The taskmasters of the people went out with their officers, and they spoke to the people, saying, “This is what Pharaoh says: ‘I will not give you straw.

And the taskmasters H5065 (QalActPtc) of the people H5971 went out, H3318 (QalImpf) and their officers, H7860 (QalActPtc) and they spake H559 (QalImpf) to the people, H5971 saying, H559 (QalInf) Thus saith H559 (QalPerf) Pharaoh, H6547 I will not give H5414 (QalActPtc) you straw. H8401

κατεσπευδον δε αυτους οι εργοδιωκται και οι γραμματεις και ελεγον προς τον λαον λεγοντες ταδε λεγει φαραω ουκετι διδωμι υμιν αχυρα
