Sons of Reuben, and the Gadite, and the half of the tribe of Manasseh, of sons of valour, men bearing shield and sword, and treading bow, and taught in battle, are forty and four thousand and seven hundred and sixty, going out to the host.

All these were sons of Jediael, according to the heads of their fathers’ households, mighty men of valor, seventeen thousand two hundred, who were able to go out in the army for war.

Certain of them were in charge of the vessels of service, for these were brought in by count, and these were taken out by count.

And some of them are over the vessels of service, for by number they bring them in, and by number they take them out.

In times past, even when Saul was king, it was you who led out and brought in Israel. Yahweh your God said to you, ‘You shall be shepherd of my people Israel, and you shall be prince over my people Israel.’ ”

even in time past, even in Saul’s being king, it is thou who art taking out and bringing in Israel, and Jehovah thy God saith to thee: Thou dost feed My people Israel, and thou art leader over My people Israel.’

David went out to meet them, and answered them, “If you have come peaceably to me to help me, my heart will be united with you; but if you have come to betray me to my adversaries, since there is no wrong in my hands, may the God of our fathers see this and rebuke it.”

and David goeth out before them, and answereth and saith to them, ‘If for peace ye have come in unto me, to help me, I have a heart to unite with you; and if to betray me to mine adversaries-without violence in my hands-the God of our fathers doth see and reprove.’

Of Zebulun, such as were able to go out in the army, who could set the battle in array with all kinds of instruments of war: fifty thousand who could command and were not of double heart.

And of Asher, going forth to the host, to arrange battle, are forty thousand.

When the Philistines heard that David was anointed king over all Israel, all the Philistines went up to seek David; and David heard of it, and went out against them.

The fame of David went out into all lands; and Yahweh brought the fear of him on all nations.

and the name of David goeth out into all the lands, and Jehovah hath put his fear on all the nations.

The children of Ammon came out, and put the battle in array at the gate of the city; and the kings who had come were by themselves in the field.

And the children H1121 of Ammon H5983 came out, H3318 (QalImpf) and put the battle H4421 in array H6186 (QalImpf) before the gate H6607 of the city: H5892 and the kings H4428 that were come H935 (QalPerf) [were] by themselves in the field. H7704

and the sons of Ammon come out and set battle in array at the opening of the city, and the kings who have come are by themselves in the field.

When the Syrians saw that they were defeated by Israel, they sent messengers and called out the Syrians who were beyond the River,^§ with Shophach the captain of the army of Hadadezer leading them.

And when the Syrians H758 saw H7200 (QalImpf) that they were put to the worse H5062 (NiphPerf) before H6440 Israel, H3478 they sent H7971 (QalImpf) messengers, H4397 and drew forth H3318 (HiphImpf) the Syrians H758 that [were] beyond H5676 the river: H5104 and Shophach H7780 the captain H8269 of the host H6635 of Hadarezer H1928 [went] before H6440 them.

And Aram seeth that they have been smitten before Israel, and send messengers, and bring out Aram that is beyond the River, and Shophach head of the host of Hadarezer is before them.

At the time of the return of the year, at the time when kings go out, Joab led out the army and wasted the country of the children of Ammon, and came and besieged Rabbah. But David stayed at Jerusalem. Joab struck Rabbah, and overthrew it.

And it cometh to pass, at the time of the turn of the year-at the time of the going out of the messengers-that Joab leadeth out the force of the host, and destroyeth the land of the sons of Ammon, and cometh in and beseigeth Rabbah-David is abiding in Jerusalem-and Joab smiteth Rabbah, and breaketh it down.

David took the crown of their king from off his head, and found it to weigh a talent of gold,° and there were precious stones in it. It was set on David’s head, and he brought very much plunder out of the city.

And David taketh the crown of their king from off his head, and findeth it in weight a talent of gold, and in it a precious stone, and it is on the head of David: and spoil of the city he hath brought out very much,

He brought out the people who were in it, and had them cut with saws, with iron picks, and with axes. David did so to all the cities of the children of Ammon. Then David and all the people returned to Jerusalem.

and the people who are in it he hath brought out, and setteth to the saw, and to cutting instruments of iron, and to axes; and thus doth David to all cities of the sons of Ammon, and David turneth back, and all the people, to Jerusalem.

Nevertheless the king’s word prevailed against Joab. Therefore Joab departed and went throughout all Israel, then came to Jerusalem.

Nevertheless the king’s H4428 word H1697 prevailed H2388 (QalPerf) against Joab. H3097 Wherefore Joab H3097 departed, H3318 (QalImpf) and went H1980 (HithImpf) throughout all Israel, H3478 and came H935 (QalImpf) to Jerusalem. H3389

And the word of the king is severe against Joab, and Joab goeth out, and goeth up and down in all Israel, and cometh in to Jerusalem.

As David came to Ornan, Ornan looked and saw David, and went out of the threshing floor, and bowed himself to David with his face to the ground.

The lot eastward fell to Shelemiah. Then for Zechariah his son, a wise counselor, they cast lots; and his lot came out northward.

And the sons of Israel, after their number, heads of the fathers, and princes of the thousands and of the hundreds, and their officers, those serving the king in any matter of the courses, that are coming in and going out month by month, throughout all months of the year-are in each course twenty and four thousand.

Now give me wisdom and knowledge, that I may go out and come in before this people; for who can judge this great people of yours?”

They imported from Egypt then exported a chariot for six hundred pieces of silver and a horse for one hundred fifty.° They also exported them to the Hittite kings and the Syrian^§ kings.

There was nothing in the ark except the two tablets which Moses put there at Horeb, when Yahweh made a covenant with the children of Israel, when they came out of Egypt.

There is nothing in the ark but the two tables that Moses gave in Horeb, where Jehovah covenanted with the sons of Israel, in their going out from Egypt.

When the priests had come out of the holy place (for all the priests who were present had sanctified themselves, and didn’t keep their divisions;

‘From the day that I brought out My people from the land of Egypt, I have not fixed on a city out of any of the tribes of Israel to build a house for my name being there, and I have not fixed on a man to be leader over My people Israel;

nevertheless you shall not build the house, but your son who will come out of your body, he shall build the house for my name.’

Notwithstanding H7535 thou shalt not build H1129 (QalImpf) the house; H1004 but thy son H1121 which shall come forth H3318 (QalActPtc) out of thy loins, H2504 he shall build H1129 (QalImpf) the house H1004 for my name. H8034

but thou dost not build the house, for thy son who cometh forth out from thy loins, he doth build the house for My name.

“If your people go out to battle against their enemies, by whatever way you send them, and they pray to you toward this city which you have chosen, and the house which I have built for your name;

‘When Thy people doth go out to battle against its enemies in the way that Thou dost send them, and they have prayed unto Thee the way of this city that Thou hast fixed on, and the house that I have built for Thy name:

They shall answer, ‘Because they abandoned Yahweh, the God of their fathers, who brought them out of the land of Egypt, and took other gods, worshiped them, and served them. Therefore he has brought all this evil on them.’ ”

and they have said, Because that they have forsaken Jehovah, God of their fathers, who brought them out from the land of Egypt, and lay hold on other gods, and bow themselves to them, and serve them, therefore He hath brought upon them all this evil.’

They brought horses for Solomon out of Egypt and out of all lands.

and they are bringing out horses from Egypt to Solomon, and from all the lands.

Zerah the Ethiopian came out against them with an army of a million troops and three hundred chariots, and he came to Mareshah.

and he goeth out before Asa, and saith to him, ‘Hear, me, Asa, and all Judah and Benjamin; Jehovah is with you-in your being with Him, and if ye seek Him, He is found of you, and if ye forsake Him, He forsaketh you;

In those times there was no peace to him who went out, nor to him who came in; but great troubles were on all the inhabitants of the lands.

In the thirty-sixth year of Asa’s reign, Baasha king of Israel went up against Judah, and built Ramah, that he might not allow anyone to go out or come in to Asa king of Judah.

In the thirty and sixth year of the reign of Asa, come up hath Baasha king of Israel, against Judah, and buildeth Ramah, so as not to permit any going out and coming in to Asa king of Judah.

Then Asa brought out silver and gold out of the treasures of Yahweh’s house and of the king’s house, and sent to Ben Hadad king of Syria, who lived at Damascus, saying,

And Asa bringeth out silver and gold from the treasures of the house of Jehovah, and of the house of the king, and sendeth unto Ben-Hadad king of Aram, who is dwelling in Damascus, saying,

A spirit came out, stood before Yahweh, and said, ‘I will entice him.’ “Yahweh said to him, ‘How?’

“He said, ‘I will go, and will be a lying spirit in the mouth of all his prophets.’ “He said, ‘You will entice him, and will prevail also. Go and do so.’

And a man hath drawn with a bow, in his simplicity, and smiteth the king of Israel between the joinings and the coat of mail, and he saith to the charioteer, ‘Turn thy hand, and thou hast brought me out of the camp, for I have become sick.’

Jehu the son of Hanani the seer went out to meet him, and said to King Jehoshaphat, “Should you help the wicked, and love those who hate Yahweh? Because of this, wrath is on you from before Yahweh.

And Jehu H3058 the son H1121 of Hanani H2607 the seer H2374 went out H3318 (QalImpf) to meet H6440 him, and said H559 (QalImpf) to king H4428 Jehoshaphat, H3092 Shouldest thou help H5826 (QalInf) the ungodly, H7563 and love H157 (QalImpf) them that hate H8130 (QalActPtc) the Lord? H3068 therefore H2063 [is] wrath H7110 upon thee from before H6440 the Lord. H3068

and go out unto his presence doth Jehu son of Hanani, the seer, and saith unto king Jehoshaphat, ‘To give help to the wicked, and to those hating Jehovah, dost thou love? and for this against thee is wrath from before Jehovah,

Jehoshaphat lived at Jerusalem; and he went out again among the people from Beersheba to the hill country of Ephraim, and brought them back to Yahweh, the God of their fathers.

And Jehoshaphat H3092 dwelt H3427 (QalImpf) at Jerusalem: H3389 and he went out H3318 (QalImpf) again H7725 (QalImpf) through the people H5971 from Beersheba H884 to mount H2022 Ephraim, H669 and brought them back H7725 (HiphImpf) unto the Lord H3068 God H430 of their fathers. H1

And Jehoshaphat dwelleth in Jerusalem, and he turneth back and goeth out among the people from Beer-Sheba unto the hill-country of Ephraim, and bringeth them back unto Jehovah, God of their fathers.

You will not need to fight this battle. Set yourselves, stand still, and see the salvation of Yahweh with you, O Judah and Jerusalem. Don’t be afraid, nor be dismayed. Go out against them tomorrow, for Yahweh is with you.’ ”

Ye shall not [need] to fight H3898 (NiphInf) in this H2063 [battle]: set H3320 (HithImpv) yourselves, stand H5975 (QalImpv) ye [still], and see H7200 (QalImpv) the salvation H3444 of the Lord H3068 with you, O Judah H3063 and Jerusalem: H3389 fear H3372 (QalImpf) not, nor be dismayed; H2865 (NiphImpf) to morrow H4279 go out H3318 (QalImpv) against H6440 them: for the Lord H3068 [will be] with you.

Not for you to fight in this; station yourselves, stand, and see the salvation of Jehovah with you, O Judah and Jerusalem-be not afraid nor fear ye-to-morrow go out before them, and Jehovah is with you.’

They rose early in the morning and went out into the wilderness of Tekoa. As they went out, Jehoshaphat stood and said, “Listen to me, Judah and you inhabitants of Jerusalem! Believe in Yahweh your God, so you will be established! Believe his prophets, so you will prosper.”

And they rose early H7925 (HiphImpf) in the morning, H1242 and went forth H3318 (QalImpf) into the wilderness H4057 of Tekoa: H8620 and as they went forth, H3318 (QalInf) Jehoshaphat H3092 stood H5975 (QalPerf) and said, H559 (QalImpf) Hear H8085 (QalImpv) me, O Judah, H3063 and ye inhabitants H3427 (QalActPtc) of Jerusalem; H3389 Believe H539 (HiphImpv) in the Lord H3068 your God, H430 so shall ye be established; H539 (NiphImpf) believe H539 (HiphImpv) his prophets, H5030 so shall ye prosper. And they rise early in the morning, and go out to the wilderness of Tekoa, and in their going out Jehoshaphat hath stood and saith, ‘Hear me, O Judah, and inhabitants of Jerusalem, remain stedfast in Jehovah your God, and be stedfast; remain stedfast in His prophets, and prosper.’

When he had taken counsel with the people, he appointed those who were to sing to Yahweh and give praise in holy array as they go out before the army, and say, “Give thanks to Yahweh, for his loving kindness endures forever.”

And when he had consulted H3289 (NiphImpf) with the people, H5971 he appointed H5975 (HiphImpf) singers H7891 (PolePtc) unto the Lord, H3068 and that should praise H1984 (PielPtc) the beauty H1927 of holiness, H6944 as they went out H3318 (QalInf) before H6440 the army, H2502 (QalPasPtc) and to say, H559 (QalActPtc) Praise H3034 (HiphImpv) the Lord; H3068 for his mercy H2617 [endureth] for ever. H5769

And he taketh counsel with the people, and appointeth singers to Jehovah, and those giving praise to the honour of holiness, in the going out before the armed men, and saying, ‘Give ye thanks to Jehovah, for to the age is His kindness.’

and you will have great sickness with a disease of your bowels, until your bowels fall out by reason of the sickness, day by day.’ ”

And thou [shalt have] great H7227 sickness H2483 by disease H4245 of thy bowels, H4578 until thy bowels H4578 fall out H3318 (QalImpf) by reason of the sickness H2483 day H3117 by day. H3117

and thou, with many sicknesses, with disease of thy bowels, till thy bowels come out, by the sickness, day by day.’

In process of time, at the end of two years, his bowels fell out by reason of his sickness, and he died of severe diseases. His people made no burning for him, like the burning of his fathers.

And it came to pass, that in process of time, H3117 after H3318 (QalInf) H6256 the end H7093 of two H8147 years, H3117 his bowels H4578 fell out H3318 (QalPerf) by reason H5973 of his sickness: H2483 so he died H4191 (QalImpf) of sore H7451 diseases. H8463 And his people H5971 made H6213 (QalPerf) no burning H8316 for him, like the burning H8316 of his fathers. H1

and it cometh to pass, from days to days, and at the time of the going out of the end of two years, his bowels have gone out with his sickness, and he dieth of sore diseases, and his people have not made for him a burning like the burning of his fathers.

Now the destruction of Ahaziah was of God, in that he went to Joram; for when he had come, he went out with Jehoram against Jehu the son of Nimshi, whom Yahweh had anointed to cut off Ahab’s house.

And the destruction H8395 of Ahaziah H274 was of God H430 by coming H935 (QalInf) to Joram: H3141 for when he was come, H935 (QalInf) he went out H3318 (QalPerf) with Jehoram H3088 against Jehu H3058 the son H1121 of Nimshi, H5250 whom the Lord H3068 had anointed H4886 (QalPerf) to cut off H3772 (HiphInf) the house H1004 of Ahab. H256

and from God hath been the destruction of Ahaziah, to come unto Joram: and in his coming he hath gone out with Jehoram unto Jehu son of Nimshi, whom Jehovah anointed to cut off the house of Ahab.

The Levites shall surround the king, every man with his weapons in his hand. Whoever comes into the house, let him be slain. Be with the king when he comes in and when he goes out.”

And the Levites H3881 shall compass H5362 (HiphPerf) the king H4428 round about, H5439 every man H376 with his weapons H3627 in his hand; H3027 and whosoever [else] cometh H935 (QalActPtc) into the house, H1004 he shall be put to death: H4191 (HophImpf) but be ye with the king H4428 when he cometh in, H935 (QalInf) and when he goeth out. and the Levites have compassed the king round about, each with his weapon in his hand, and he who hath gone in unto the house is put to death; and be ye with the king in his coming in and in his going out.’

So the Levites and all Judah did according to all that Jehoiada the priest commanded. They each took his men, those who were to come in on the Sabbath, with those who were to go out on the Sabbath, for Jehoiada the priest didn’t dismiss the shift.

So the Levites H3881 and all Judah H3063 did H6213 (QalImpf) according to all things that Jehoiada H3077 the priest H3548 had commanded, H6680 (PielPerf) and took H3947 (QalImpf) every man H376 his men H582 that were to come in H935 (QalActPtc) on the sabbath, H7676 with them that were to go H3318 (QalActPtc) [out] on the sabbath: H7676 for Jehoiada H3077 the priest H3548 dismissed H6358 (QalPerf) not the courses. H4256

And the Levites and all Judah do according to all that Jehoiada the priest hath commanded, and take each his men going in on the sabbath, with those going out on the sabbath, for Jehoiada the priest hath not let away the courses.
