Take for yourself an iron pan and set it for a wall of iron between you and the city. Then set your face toward it. It will be besieged, and you shall lay siege against it. This shall be a sign to the house of Israel.

Those of you that escape will remember me among the nations where they are carried captive, how I have been broken with their lewd heart, which has departed from me, and with their eyes, which play the prostitute after their idols. Then they will loathe themselves in their own sight for the evils which they have committed in all their abominations.

They will also clothe themselves with sackcloth, and horror will cover them. Shame will be on all faces, and baldness on all their heads.

και αποστρεψω το προσωπον μου απ αυτων και μιανουσιν την επισκοπην μου και εισελευσονται εις αυτα αφυλακτως και βεβηλωσουσιν αυτα

In the sixth year, in the sixth month, in the fifth day of the month, as I sat in my house, and the elders of Judah sat before me, the Lord Yahweh’s hand fell on me there.

And it came to pass in the sixth H8345 year, H8141 in the sixth H8345 month, in the fifth H2568 day of the month, H2320 as I sat H3427 (QalActPtc) in mine house, H1004 and the elders H2205 of Judah H3063 sat H3427 (QalActPtc) before H6440 me, that the hand H3027 of the Lord H136 God H3069 fell H5307 (QalImpf) there upon me.

και εγενετο εν τω εκτω ετει εν τω πεμπτω μηνι πεμπτη του μηνος εγω εκαθημην εν τω οικω και οι πρεσβυτεροι ιουδα εκαθηντο ενωπιον μου και εγενετο επ εμε χειρ κυριου

Seventy men of the elders of the house of Israel stood before them. In the middle of them Jaazaniah the son of Shaphan stood, every man with his censer in his hand; and the smell of the cloud of incense went up.

και εβδομηκοντα ανδρες εκ των πρεσβυτερων οικου ισραηλ και ιεζονιας ο του σαφαν εν μεσω αυτων ειστηκει προ προσωπου αυτων και εκαστος θυμιατηριον αυτου ειχεν εν τη χειρι και η ατμις του θυμιαματος ανεβαινεν

He brought me into the inner court of Yahweh’s house; and I saw at the door of Yahweh’s temple, between the porch and the altar, there were about twenty-five men with their backs toward Yahweh’s temple and their faces toward the east. They were worshiping the sun toward the east.

και εισηγαγεν με εις την αυλην οικου κυριου την εσωτεραν και ιδου επι των προθυρων του ναου κυριου ανα μεσον των αιλαμ και ανα μεσον του θυσιαστηριου ως εικοσι ανδρες τα οπισθια αυτων προς τον ναον του κυριου και τα προσωπα αυτων απεναντι και ουτοι προσκυνουσιν τω ηλιω

Kill utterly the old man, the young man, the virgin, little children and women; but don’t come near any man on whom is the mark. Begin at my sanctuary.” Then they began at the old men who were before the house.

πρεσβυτερον και νεανισκον και παρθενον και νηπια και γυναικας αποκτεινατε εις εξαλειψιν επι δε παντας εφ ους εστιν το σημειον μη εγγισητε και απο των αγιων μου αρξασθε και ηρξαντο απο των ανδρων των πρεσβυτερων οι ησαν εσω εν τω οικω

και εγενετο εν τω κοπτειν αυτους και πιπτω επι προσωπον μου και ανεβοησα και ειπα οιμμοι κυριε εξαλειφεις συ τους καταλοιπους του ισραηλ εν τω εκχεαι σε τον θυμον σου επι ιερουσαλημ

Every one them had four faces. The first face was the face of the cherub. The second face was the face of a man. The third face was the face of a lion. The fourth was the face of an eagle.

Every one had four faces, and every one four wings. The likeness of the hands of a man was under their wings.

τεσσαρα προσωπα τω ενι και οκτω πτερυγες τω ενι και ομοιωμα χειρων ανθρωπου υποκατωθεν των πτερυγων αυτων

As for the likeness of their faces, they were the faces which I saw by the river Chebar, their appearances and themselves. They each went straight forward.

και ομοιωσις των προσωπων αυτων ταυτα τα προσωπα εστιν α ειδον υποκατω της δοξης θεου ισραηλ επι του ποταμου του χοβαρ και αυτα εκαστον κατα προσωπον αυτων επορευοντο

When I prophesied, Pelatiah the son of Benaiah died. Then I fell down on my face, and cried with a loud voice, and said, “Ah Lord Yahweh! Will you make a full end of the remnant of Israel?”

και εγενετο εν τω προφητευειν με και φαλτιας ο του βαναιου απεθανεν και πιπτω επι προσωπον μου και ανεβοησα φωνη μεγαλη και ειπα οιμμοι οιμμοι κυριε εις συντελειαν συ ποιεις τους καταλοιπους του ισραηλ

In their sight you shall bear it on your shoulder, and carry it out in the dark. You shall cover your face, so that you don’t see the land, for I have set you for a sign to the house of Israel.”

ενωπιον αυτων επ ωμων αναλημφθηση και κεκρυμμενος εξελευση το προσωπον σου συγκαλυψεις και ου μη ιδης την γην διοτι τερας δεδωκα σε τω οικω ισραηλ

“ ‘The prince who is among them will bear his baggage on his shoulder in the dark, and will go out. They will dig through the wall to carry things out that way. He will cover his face, because he will not see the land with his eyes.

και ο αρχων εν μεσω αυτων επ ωμων αρθησεται και κεκρυμμενος εξελευσεται δια του τοιχου και διορυξει του εξελθειν αυτον δι αυτου το προσωπον αυτου συγκαλυψει οπως μη οραθη οφθαλμω και αυτος την γην ουκ οψεται
