Jethro rejoiced for all the goodness which Yahweh had done to Israel, in that he had delivered them out of the hand of the Egyptians.

Now I know that Yahweh is greater than all gods because of the way that they treated people arrogantly.”

νυν εγνων οτι μεγας κυριος παρα παντας τους θεους ενεκεν τουτου οτι επεθεντο αυτοις

On the next day, Moses sat to judge the people, and the people stood around Moses from the morning to the evening.

And it came to pass on the morrow, H4283 that Moses H4872 sat H3427 (QalImpf) to judge H8199 (QalInf) the people: H5971 and the people H5971 stood H5975 (QalImpf) by Moses H4872 from the morning H1242 unto the evening. H6153

When Moses’ father-in-law saw all that he did to the people, he said, “What is this thing that you do for the people? Why do you sit alone, and all the people stand around you from morning to evening?”

και ιδων ιοθορ παντα οσα εποιει τω λαω λεγει τι τουτο ο συ ποιεις τω λαω δια τι συ καθησαι μονος πας δε ο λαος παρεστηκεν σοι απο πρωιθεν εως δειλης

Moreover you shall provide out of all the people able men which fear God: men of truth, hating unjust gain; and place such over them, to be rulers of thousands, rulers of hundreds, rulers of fifties, and rulers of tens.

και συ σεαυτω σκεψαι απο παντος του λαου ανδρας δυνατους θεοσεβεις ανδρας δικαιους μισουντας υπερηφανιαν και καταστησεις αυτους επ αυτων χιλιαρχους και εκατονταρχους και πεντηκονταρχους και δεκαδαρχους

Moses chose able men out of all Israel, and made them heads over the people, rulers of thousands, rulers of hundreds, rulers of fifties, and rulers of tens.

“You shall have no other gods before me.

ουκ εσονται σοι θεοι ετεροι πλην εμου

for in six days Yahweh made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that is in them, and rested the seventh day; therefore Yahweh blessed the Sabbath day, and made it holy.

For [in] six H8337 days H3117 the Lord H3068 made H6213 (QalPerf) heaven H8064 and earth, H776 the sea, H3220 and all that in them [is], and rested H5117 (QalImpf) the seventh H7637 day: H3117 wherefore the Lord H3068 blessed H1288 (PielPerf) the sabbath H7676 day, H3117 and hallowed H6942 (PielImpf) it.

εν γαρ εξ ημεραις εποιησεν κυριος τον ουρανον και την γην και την θαλασσαν και παντα τα εν αυτοις και κατεπαυσεν τη ημερα τη εβδομη δια τουτο ευλογησεν κυριος την ημεραν την εβδομην και ηγιασεν αυτην

If a man schemes and comes presumptuously on his neighbor to kill him, you shall take him from my altar, that he may die.

εαν δε τις επιθηται τω πλησιον αποκτειναι αυτον δολω και καταφυγη απο του θυσιαστηριου μου λημψη αυτον θανατωσαι

“If you lend money to any of my people with you who is poor, you shall not be to him as a creditor. You shall not charge him interest.

If thou lend H3867 (HiphImpf) money H3701 to [any of] my people H5971 [that is] poor H6041 by thee, thou shalt not be to him as an usurer, H5383 (QalActPtc) neither shalt thou lay H7760 (QalImpf) upon him usury. H5392

^[22:24] εαν δε αργυριον εκδανεισης τω αδελφω τω πενιχρω παρα σοι ουκ εση αυτον κατεπειγων ουκ επιθησεις αυτω τοκον

“Be careful to do all things that I have said to you; and don’t invoke the name of other gods or even let them be heard out of your mouth.

And in all [things] that I have said H559 (QalPerf) unto you be circumspect: H8104 (NiphImpf) and make no mention H2142 (HiphImpf) of the name H8034 of other H312 gods, H430 neither let it be heard H8085 (NiphImpf) out H5921 of thy mouth. H6310

παντα οσα ειρηκα προς υμας φυλαξασθε και ονομα θεων ετερων ουκ αναμνησθησεσθε ουδε μη ακουσθη εκ του στοματος υμων

I will not drive them out from before you in one year, lest the land become desolate, and the animals of the field multiply against you.

I will not drive them out H1644 (PielImpf) from before H6440 thee in one H259 year; H8141 lest the land H776 become desolate, H8077 and the beast H2416 of the field H7704 multiply H7227 against thee.

ουκ εκβαλω αυτους εν ενιαυτω ενι ινα μη γενηται η γη ερημος και πολλα γενηται επι σε τα θηρια της γης

Moses took the blood, and sprinkled it on the people, and said, “Look, this is the blood of the covenant, which Yahweh has made with you concerning all these words.”

λαβων δε μωυσης το αιμα κατεσκεδασεν του λαου και ειπεν ιδου το αιμα της διαθηκης ης διεθετο κυριος προς υμας περι παντων των λογων τουτων

There I will meet with you, and I will tell you from above the mercy seat, from between the two cherubim which are on the ark of the covenant, all that I command you for the children of Israel.

“You shall make curtains of goats’ hair for a covering over the tabernacle. You shall make eleven curtains.

και ποιησεις δερρεις τριχινας σκεπην επι της σκηνης ενδεκα δερρεις ποιησεις αυτας

The overhanging part that remains of the curtains of the tent—the half curtain that remains—shall hang over the back of the tabernacle.

The cubit on the one side and the cubit on the other side, of that which remains in the length of the curtains of the tent, shall hang over the sides of the tabernacle on this side and on that side, to cover it.

In the Tent of Meeting, outside the veil which is before the covenant, Aaron and his sons shall keep it in order from evening to morning before Yahweh: it shall be a statute forever throughout their generations on the behalf of the children of Israel.

εν τη σκηνη του μαρτυριου εξωθεν του καταπετασματος του επι της διαθηκης καυσει αυτο ααρων και οι υιοι αυτου αφ εσπερας εως πρωι εναντιον κυριου νομιμον αιωνιον εις τας γενεας υμων παρα των υιων ισραηλ

With the work of an engraver in stone, like the engravings of a signet, you shall engrave the two stones, according to the names of the children of Israel. You shall make them to be enclosed in settings of gold.

εργον λιθουργικης τεχνης γλυμμα σφραγιδος διαγλυψεις τους δυο λιθους επι τοις ονομασιν των υιων ισραηλ

The stones shall be according to the names of the children of Israel, twelve, according to their names; like the engravings of a signet, everyone according to his name, they shall be for the twelve tribes.

And the stones H68 shall be with the names H8034 of the children H1121 of Israel, H3478 twelve, H8147 H6240 according to their names, H8034 [like] the engravings H6603 of a signet; H2368 every one H376 with his name H8034 shall they be according to the twelve H8147 H6240 tribes. H7626

Aaron shall bear the names of the children of Israel in the breastplate of judgment on his heart, when he goes in to the holy place, for a memorial before Yahweh continually.

And Aaron H175 shall bear H5375 (QalPerf) the names H8034 of the children H1121 of Israel H3478 in the breastplate H2833 of judgment H4941 upon his heart, H3820 when he goeth H935 (QalInf) in unto the holy H6944 [place], for a memorial H2146 before H6440 the Lord H3068 continually. H8548

και λημψεται ααρων τα ονοματα των υιων ισραηλ επι του λογειου της κρισεως επι του στηθους εισιοντι εις το αγιον μνημοσυνον εναντι του θεου

You shall put in the breastplate of judgment the Urim and the Thummim; and they shall be on Aaron’s heart, when he goes in before Yahweh. Aaron shall bear the judgment of the children of Israel on his heart before Yahweh continually.

And thou shalt put H5414 (QalPerf) in the breastplate H2833 of judgment H4941 the Urim H224 and the Thummim; H8550 and they shall be upon Aaron’s H175 heart, H3820 when he goeth H935 (QalInf) in before H6440 the Lord: H3068 and Aaron H175 shall bear H5375 (QalPerf) the judgment H4941 of the children H1121 of Israel H3478 upon his heart H3820 before H6440 the Lord H3068 continually. και επιθησεις επι το λογειον της κρισεως την δηλωσιν και την αληθειαν και εσται επι του στηθους ααρων οταν εισπορευηται εις το αγιον εναντιον κυριου και οισει ααρων τας κρισεις των υιων ισραηλ επι του στηθους εναντιον κυριου δια παντος

You shall put it before the veil that is by the ark of the covenant, before the mercy seat that is over the covenant, where I will meet with you.

και θησεις αυτο απεναντι του καταπετασματος του οντος επι της κιβωτου των μαρτυριων εν οις γνωσθησομαι σοι εκειθεν

They shall give this, everyone who passes over to those who are counted, half a shekel according to the shekel° of the sanctuary (the shekel is twenty gerahs°); half a shekel for an offering to Yahweh.

Exodus 30:13a A shekel is about 10 grams or about 0.35 ounces.
Exodus 30:13b a gerah is about 0.5 grams or about 7.7 grains

When the people saw that Moses delayed coming down from the mountain, the people gathered themselves together to Aaron, and said to him, “Come, make us gods, which shall go before us; for as for this Moses, the man who brought us up out of the land of Egypt, we don’t know what has become of him.”

και ιδων ο λαος οτι κεχρονικεν μωυσης καταβηναι εκ του ορους συνεστη ο λαος επι ααρων και λεγουσιν αυτω αναστηθι και ποιησον ημιν θεους οι προπορευσονται ημων ο γαρ μωυσης ουτος ο ανθρωπος ος εξηγαγεν ημας εξ αιγυπτου ουκ οιδαμεν τι γεγονεν αυτω

Why should the Egyptians talk, saying, ‘He brought them out for evil, to kill them in the mountains, and to consume them from the surface of the earth’? Turn from your fierce wrath, and turn away from this evil against your people.

Wherefore should the Egyptians H4714 speak, H559 (QalImpf) and say, H559 (QalInf) For mischief H7451 did he bring H3318 (HiphPerf) them out, to slay H2026 (QalInf) them in the mountains, H2022 and to consume H3615 (PielInf) them from the face H6440 of the earth? μηποτε ειπωσιν οι αιγυπτιοι λεγοντες μετα πονηριας εξηγαγεν αυτους αποκτειναι εν τοις ορεσιν και εξαναλωσαι αυτους απο της γης παυσαι της οργης του θυμου σου και ιλεως γενου επι τη κακια του λαου σου

So Yahweh turned away from the evil which he said he would do to his people.

And the Lord H3068 repented H5162 (NiphImpf) of the evil H7451 which he thought H1696 (PielPerf) to do H6213 (QalInf) unto his people. H5971

και ιλασθη κυριος περι της κακιας ης ειπεν ποιησαι τον λαον αυτου

He took the calf which they had made, and burned it with fire, ground it to powder, and scattered it on the water, and made the children of Israel drink it.

And he took H3947 (QalImpf) the calf H5695 which they had made, H6213 (QalPerf) and burnt H8313 (QalImpf) [it] in the fire, H784 and ground H2912 (QalImpf) [it] to powder, H1854 (QalPerf) and strawed H2219 (QalImpf) [it] upon H6440 the water, H4325 and made the children H1121 of Israel H3478 drink H8248 (HiphImpf) [of it].

και λαβων τον μοσχον ον εποιησαν κατεκαυσεν αυτον εν πυρι και κατηλεσεν αυτον λεπτον και εσπειρεν αυτον επι το υδωρ και εποτισεν αυτο τους υιους ισραηλ

Yahweh struck the people, because of what they did with the calf, which Aaron made.

And the Lord H3068 plagued H5062 (QalImpf) the people, H5971 because H834 they made H6213 (QalPerf) the calf, H5695 which H834 Aaron H175 made. H6213 (QalPerf)

και επαταξεν κυριος τον λαον περι της ποιησεως του μοσχου ου εποιησεν ααρων

He said, “I will make all my goodness pass before you, and will proclaim Yahweh’s name before you. I will be gracious to whom I will be gracious, and will show mercy on whom I will show mercy.”

And he said, H559 (QalImpf) I will make all my goodness H2898 pass H5674 (HiphImpf) before thee, and I will proclaim H7121 (QalPerf) the name H8034 of the Lord H3068 before H6440 thee; and will be gracious H2603 (QalPerf) to whom I will be gracious, H2603 (QalImpf) and will shew mercy H7355 (PielPerf) on whom I will shew mercy. και ειπεν εγω παρελευσομαι προτερος σου τη δοξη μου και καλεσω επι τω ονοματι μου κυριος εναντιον σου και ελεησω ον αν ελεω και οικτιρησω ον αν οικτιρω

Yahweh said to Moses, “Write these words; for in accordance with these words I have made a covenant with you and with Israel.”

And the Lord H3068 said H559 (QalImpf) unto Moses, H4872 Write H3789 (QalImpv) thou these words: H1697 for after the tenor H6310 of these words H1697 I have made H3772 (QalPerf) a covenant H1285 with thee and with Israel. H3478

και ειπεν κυριος προς μωυσην γραψον σεαυτω τα ρηματα ταυτα επι γαρ των λογων τουτων τεθειμαι σοι διαθηκην και τω ισραηλ

When Moses was done speaking with them, he put a veil on his face.

And [till] Moses H4872 had done H3615 (PielImpf) speaking H1696 (PielInf) with them, he put H5414 (QalImpf) a vail H4533 on his face. H6440

και επειδη κατεπαυσεν λαλων προς αυτους επεθηκεν επι το προσωπον αυτου καλυμμα

The children of Israel saw Moses’ face, that the skin of Moses’ face shone; so Moses put the veil on his face again, until he went in to speak with him.

And the children H1121 of Israel H3478 saw H7200 (QalPerf) the face H6440 of Moses, H4872 that the skin H5785 of Moses’ H4872 face H6440 shone: H7160 (QalPerf) and Moses H4872 put H7725 the vail H4533 upon his face H6440 again, H7725 (HiphPerf) until he went H935 (QalInf) in to speak H1696 (PielInf) with him.

και ειδον οι υιοι ισραηλ το προσωπον μωυση οτι δεδοξασται και περιεθηκεν μωυσης καλυμμα επι το προσωπον εαυτου εως αν εισελθη συλλαλειν αυτω

They came, both men and women, as many as were willing-hearted, and brought brooches, earrings, signet rings, and armlets, all jewels of gold; even every man who offered an offering of gold to Yahweh.

He made curtains of goats’ hair for a covering over the tabernacle. He made them eleven curtains.

These are the amounts of materials used for the tabernacle, even the Tabernacle of the Testimony, as they were counted, according to the commandment of Moses, for the service of the Levites, by the hand of Ithamar, the son of Aaron the priest.

^[37:19] και αυτη η συνταξις της σκηνης του μαρτυριου καθα συνεταγη μωυση την λειτουργιαν ειναι των λευιτων δια ιθαμαρ του υιου ααρων του ιερεως

They worked the onyx stones, enclosed in settings of gold, engraved with the engravings of a signet, according to the names of the children of Israel.

And they wrought H6213 (QalImpf) onyx H7718 stones H68 inclosed H4142 (HophPtc) in ouches H4865 of gold, H2091 graven, H6605 (PualPtc) as signets H2368 are graven, H6603 with the names H8034 of the children H1121 of Israel. H3478

^[36:13] και εποιησαν αμφοτερους τους λιθους της σμαραγδου συμπεπορπημενους και περισεσιαλωμενους χρυσιω γεγλυμμενους και εκκεκολαμμενους εκκολαμμα σφραγιδος εκ των ονοματων των υιων ισραηλ

και εξετεινεν τας αυλαιας επι την σκηνην και επεθηκεν το κατακαλυμμα της σκηνης επ αυτης ανωθεν καθα συνεταξεν κυριος τω μωυση

When the cloud was taken up from over the tabernacle, the children of Israel went onward, throughout all their journeys;

ηνικα δ αν ανεβη η νεφελη απο της σκηνης ανεζευγνυσαν οι υιοι ισραηλ συν τη απαρτια αυτων

He shall lay his hand on the head of the burnt offering, and it shall be accepted for him to make atonement for him.

And he shall put H5564 (QalPerf) his hand H3027 upon the head H7218 of the burnt offering; H5930 and it shall be accepted H7521 (NiphPerf) for him to make atonement H3722 (PielInf) for him.

και επιθησει την χειρα επι την κεφαλην του καρπωματος δεκτον αυτω εξιλασασθαι περι αυτου

and Aaron’s sons, the priests, shall lay the pieces, the head, and the fat in order on the wood that is on the fire which is on the altar;

And the priests, H3548 Aaron’s H175 sons, H1121 shall lay H6186 the parts, H5409 the head, H7218 and the fat, H6309 in order H6186 (QalPerf) upon the wood H6086 that [is] on the fire H784 which [is] upon the altar: H4196

και επιστοιβασουσιν οι υιοι ααρων οι ιερεις τα διχοτομηματα και την κεφαλην και το στεαρ επι τα ξυλα τα επι του πυρος τα οντα επι του θυσιαστηριου

—all the rest of the bull—outside of the camp to a clean place where the ashes are poured out, and burn it on wood with fire. It shall be burned where the ashes are poured out.

Even the whole bullock H6499 shall he carry forth H3318 (HiphPerf) without H2351 the camp H4264 unto a clean H2889 place, H4725 where the ashes H1880 are poured out, H8211 and burn H8313 (QalPerf) him on the wood H6086 with fire: H784 where H413 the ashes H1880 are poured out H8211 shall he be burnt. και εξοισουσιν ολον τον μοσχον εξω της παρεμβολης εις τοπον καθαρον ου εκχεουσιν την σποδιαν και κατακαυσουσιν αυτον επι ξυλων εν πυρι επι της εκχυσεως της σποδιας καυθησεται

He shall remove all its fat, like the fat of the lamb is removed from the sacrifice of peace offerings. The priest shall burn them on the altar, on the offerings of Yahweh made by fire. The priest shall make atonement for him concerning his sin that he has sinned, and he will be forgiven.

And he shall take away H5493 (HiphImpf) all the fat H2459 thereof, as the fat H2459 of the lamb H3775 is taken away H5493 (HophImpf) from the sacrifice H2077 of the peace offerings; H8002 and the priest H3548 shall burn H6999 (HiphPerf) them upon the altar, H4196 according to the offerings made by fire H801 unto the Lord: H3068 and the priest H3548 shall make an atonement H3722 (PielPerf) for his sin H2403 that he hath committed, H2398 (QalPerf) and it shall be forgiven H5545 (NiphPerf) him.

και παν αυτου το στεαρ περιελει ον τροπον περιαιρειται στεαρ προβατου εκ της θυσιας του σωτηριου και επιθησει αυτο ο ιερευς επι το θυσιαστηριον επι το ολοκαυτωμα κυριου και εξιλασεται περι αυτου ο ιερευς περι της αμαρτιας ης ημαρτεν και αφεθησεται αυτω

and he shall bring his trespass offering to Yahweh for his sin which he has sinned: a female from the flock, a lamb or a goat, for a sin offering; and the priest shall make atonement for him concerning his sin.

And he shall bring H935 (HiphPerf) his trespass offering H817 unto the Lord H3068 for his sin H2403 which he hath sinned, H2398 (QalPerf) a female H5347 from the flock, H6629 a lamb H3776 or a kid H8166 of the goats, H5795 for a sin offering; H2403 and the priest H3548 shall make an atonement H3722 (PielPerf) for him concerning his sin. H2403

και οισει περι ων επλημμελησεν κυριω περι της αμαρτιας ης ημαρτεν θηλυ απο των προβατων αμναδα η χιμαιραν εξ αιγων περι αμαρτιας και εξιλασεται περι αυτου ο ιερευς περι της αμαρτιας αυτου ης ημαρτεν και αφεθησεται αυτω η αμαρτια

He shall offer the second for a burnt offering, according to the ordinance; and the priest shall make atonement for him concerning his sin which he has sinned, and he shall be forgiven.

And he shall offer H6213 (QalImpf) the second H8145 [for] a burnt offering, H5930 according to the manner: H4941 and the priest H3548 shall make an atonement H3722 (PielPerf) for him for his sin H2403 which he hath sinned, H2398 (QalPerf) and it shall be forgiven H5545 (NiphPerf) him.

και το δευτερον ποιησει ολοκαυτωμα ως καθηκει και εξιλασεται ο ιερευς περι της αμαρτιας αυτου ης ημαρτεν και αφεθησεται αυτω

The priest shall make atonement for him concerning his sin that he has sinned in any of these things, and he will be forgiven; and the rest shall be the priest’s, as the meal offering.’ ”

And the priest H3548 shall make an atonement H3722 (PielPerf) for him as touching his sin H2403 that he hath sinned H2398 (QalPerf) in one H259 of these, and it shall be forgiven H5545 (NiphPerf) him: and [the remnant] shall be the priest’s, H3548 as a meat offering. H4503

και εξιλασεται περι αυτου ο ιερευς περι της αμαρτιας αυτου ης ημαρτεν εφ ενος τουτων και αφεθησεται αυτω το δε καταλειφθεν εσται τω ιερει ως η θυσια της σεμιδαλεως

He shall bring a ram without defect from of the flock, according to your estimation, for a trespass offering, to the priest; and the priest shall make atonement for him concerning the thing in which he sinned and didn’t know it, and he will be forgiven.

And he shall bring H935 (HiphPerf) a ram H352 without blemish H8549 out of the flock, H6629 with thy estimation, H6187 for a trespass offering, H817 unto the priest: H3548 and the priest H3548 shall make an atonement H3722 (PielPerf) for him concerning his ignorance H7684 wherein he erred H7683 (QalPerf) and wist H3045 (QalPerf) [it] not, and it shall be forgiven H5545 (NiphPerf) him.

και οισει κριον αμωμον εκ των προβατων τιμης αργυριου εις πλημμελειαν προς τον ιερεα και εξιλασεται περι αυτου ο ιερευς περι της αγνοιας αυτου ης ηγνοησεν και αυτος ουκ ηδει και αφεθησεται αυτω

or has found that which was lost, and lied about it, and swearing to a lie—in any of these things that a man sins in his actions—

Or have found H4672 (QalPerf) that which was lost, H9 and lieth H3584 (PielPerf) concerning it, and sweareth H7650 (NiphPerf) falsely; H8267 in any H259 of all these that a man H120 doeth, H6213 (QalImpf) sinning H2398 (QalInf) therein: H2007

^[5:22] η ευρεν απωλειαν και ψευσηται περι αυτης και ομοση αδικως περι ενος απο παντων ων εαν ποιηση ο ανθρωπος ωστε αμαρτειν εν τουτοις

The priest shall put on his linen garment, and he shall put on his linen trousers upon his body; and he shall remove the ashes from where the fire has consumed the burnt offering on the altar, and he shall put them beside the altar.

And the priest H3548 shall put H3847 (QalPerf) on his linen H906 garment, H4055 and his linen H906 breeches H4370 shall he put H3847 (QalImpf) upon his flesh, H1320 and take up H7311 (HiphPerf) the ashes H1880 which the fire H784 hath consumed H398 (QalImpf) with the burnt offering H5930 on the altar, H4196 and he shall put H7760 (QalPerf) them beside H681 the altar. H4196

^[6:3] και ενδυσεται ο ιερευς χιτωνα λινουν και περισκελες λινουν ενδυσεται περι το σωμα αυτου και αφελει την κατακαρπωσιν ην αν καταναλωση το πυρ την ολοκαυτωσιν απο του θυσιαστηριου και παραθησει αυτο εχομενον του θυσιαστηριου
