Listen now to my voice. I will give you counsel, and God be with you. You represent the people before God, and bring the causes to God.

‘Now, hearken to my voice, I counsel thee, and God is with thee: be thou for the people over-against God, and thou hast brought in the things unto God;

Let them judge the people at all times. It shall be that every great matter they shall bring to you, but every small matter they shall judge themselves. So shall it be easier for you, and they shall share the load with you.

And let them judge H8199 (QalPerf) the people H5971 at all seasons: H6256 and it shall be, [that] every great H1419 matter H1697 they shall bring H935 (HiphImpf) unto thee, but every small H6996 matter H1697 they shall judge: H8199 (QalImpf) so shall it be easier H7043 (HiphImpv) for thyself, and they shall bear H5375 (QalPerf) [the burden] with thee.

and they have judged the people at all times; and it hath come to pass, every great matter they bring in unto thee, and every small matter they judge themselves; and lighten it from off thyself, and they have borne with thee.

If you will do this thing, and God commands you so, then you will be able to endure, and all these people also will go to their place in peace.”

If thou shalt do H6213 (QalImpf) this thing, H1697 and God H430 command H6680 (PielPerf) thee [so], then thou shalt be able H3201 (QalPerf) to endure, H5975 (QalInf) and all this people H5971 shall also go H935 (QalImpf) to their place H4725 in peace. H7965

If thou dost this thing, and God hath commanded thee, then thou hast been able to stand, and all this people also goeth in unto its place in peace.’

They judged the people at all times. They brought the hard cases to Moses, but every small matter they judged themselves.

And they judged H8199 (QalPerf) the people H5971 at all seasons: H6256 the hard H7186 causes H1697 they brought H935 (HiphImpf) unto Moses, H4872 but every small H6996 matter H1697 H1992 they judged H8199 (QalImpf) themselves.

and they have judged the people at all times; the hard matter they bring in unto Moses, and every small matter they judge themselves.

In the third month after the children of Israel had gone out of the land of Egypt, on that same day they came into the wilderness of Sinai.

In the third month of the going out of the sons of Israel from the land of Egypt, in this day they have come into the wilderness of Sinai,

When they had departed from Rephidim, and had come to the wilderness of Sinai, they encamped in the wilderness; and there Israel encamped before the mountain.

‘You have seen what I did to the Egyptians, and how I bore you on eagles’ wings, and brought you to myself.

Ye-ye have seen that which I have done to the Egyptians, and I bear you on eagles’ wings, and bring you in unto Myself.

Moses came and called for the elders of the people, and set before them all these words which Yahweh commanded him.

And Moses H4872 came H935 (QalImpf) and called H7121 (QalImpf) for the elders H2205 of the people, H5971 and laid H7760 (QalImpf) before their faces H6440 all these words H1697 which the Lord H3068 commanded H6680 (PielPerf) him.

And Moses cometh, and calleth for the elders of the people, and setteth before them all these words which Jehovah hath commanded him;

Yahweh said to Moses, “Behold, I come to you in a thick cloud, that the people may hear when I speak with you, and may also believe you forever.” Moses told the words of the people to Yahweh.

And Jehovah saith unto Moses, ‘Lo, I am coming unto thee in the thickness of the cloud, so that the people hear in My speaking with thee, and also believe in thee to the age;’ and Moses declareth the words of the people unto Jehovah.

Moses said to the people, “Don’t be afraid, for God has come to test you, and that his fear may be before you, that you won’t sin.”

And Moses saith unto the people, ‘Fear not, for to try you hath God come, and in order that His fear may be before your faces-that ye sin not.’

You shall make an altar of earth for me, and shall sacrifice on it your burnt offerings and your peace offerings, your sheep and your cattle. In every place where I record my name I will come to you and I will bless you.

‘An altar of earth thou dost make for Me, and thou hast sacrificed on it thy burnt-offerings and thy peace-offerings, thy flock and thy herd; in every place where I cause My name to be remembered I come in unto thee, and have blessed thee.

If he comes in by himself, he shall go out by himself. If he is married, then his wife shall go out with him.

If he came in H935 (QalImpf) by himself, H1610 he shall go out H3318 (QalImpf) by himself: H1610 if he were married, H1167 H802 then his wife H802 shall go out H3318 (QalPerf) with him.

if by himself he cometh in, by himself he goeth out; if he is owner of a wife, then his wife hath gone out with him;

For every matter of trespass, whether it is for ox, for donkey, for sheep, for clothing, or for any kind of lost thing, about which one says, ‘This is mine,’ the cause of both parties shall come before God. He whom God condemns shall pay double to his neighbor.

for every matter of transgression, for ox, for ass, for sheep, for raiment, for any lost thing of which it is said that it is his; unto God cometh the matter of them both; he whom God doth condemn, he repayeth double to his neighbour.

If it is torn in pieces, let him bring it for evidence. He shall not make good that which was torn.

if it is certainly torn, he bringeth it in-a witness; the torn thing he doth not repay.

If its owner is with it, he shall not make it good. If it is a leased thing, it came for its lease.

[But] if the owner H1167 thereof [be] with it, he shall not make [it] good: H7999 (PielImpf) if it [be] an hired H7916 [thing], it came H935 (QalPerf) for his hire. H7939

if its owner is with it, he doth not repay,-if it is a hired thing, it hath come for its hire.

If you take your neighbor’s garment as collateral, you shall restore it to him before the sun goes down,

If thou at all H2254 (QalInf) take H2254 thy neighbour’s H7453 raiment H8008 to pledge, H2254 (QalImpf) thou shalt deliver H7725 (HiphImpf) it unto him by H5704 that the sun H8121 goeth down: H935 (QalInf)

if thou dost at all take in pledge the garment of thy neighbour, during the going in of the sun thou dost return it to him:

You shall bring the first of the first fruits of your ground into the house of Yahweh your God. “You shall not boil a young goat in its mother’s milk.

the beginning of the first-fruits of thy ground thou dost bring into the house of Jehovah thy God; thou dost not boil a kid in its mother’s milk.

“Behold, I send an angel before you, to keep you by the way, and to bring you into the place which I have prepared.

‘Lo, I am sending a messenger before thee to keep thee in the way, and to bring thee in unto the place which I have prepared;

For my angel shall go before you, and bring you in to the Amorite, the Hittite, the Perizzite, the Canaanite, the Hivite, and the Jebusite; and I will cut them off.

‘For My messenger goeth before thee, and hath brought thee in unto the Amorite, and the Hittite, and the Perizzite, and the Canaanite, the Hivite, and the Jebusite, and I have cut them off.

I will send my terror before you, and will confuse all the people to whom you come, and I will make all your enemies turn their backs to you.

I will send H7971 (PielImpf) my fear H367 before H6440 thee, and will destroy H2000 (QalPerf) all the people H5971 to whom thou shalt come, H935 (QalImpf) and I will make H5414 (QalPerf) all thine enemies H341 (QalActPtc) turn their backs H6203 unto thee.

My terror I send before thee, and I have put to death all the people among whom thou comest, and I have given the neck of all thine enemies unto thee.

Moses came and told the people all Yahweh’s words, and all the ordinances; and all the people answered with one voice, and said, “All the words which Yahweh has spoken will we do.”

And Moses H4872 came H935 (QalImpf) and told H5608 (PielImpf) the people H5971 all the words H1697 of the Lord, H3068 and all the judgments: H4941 and all the people H5971 answered H6030 (QalImpf) with one H259 voice, H6963 and said, H559 (QalImpf) All the words H1697 which the Lord H3068 hath said H1696 (PielPerf) will we do. And Moses cometh in, and recounteth to the people all the words of Jehovah, and all the judgments, and all the people answer-one voice, and say, ‘All the words which Jehovah hath spoken we do.’

Moses entered into the middle of the cloud, and went up on the mountain; and Moses was on the mountain forty days and forty nights.

And Moses H4872 went H935 (QalImpf) into the midst H8432 of the cloud, H6051 and gat him up H5927 (QalImpf) into the mount: H2022 and Moses H4872 was in the mount H2022 forty H705 days H3117 and forty H705 nights. H3915

and Moses goeth into the midst of the cloud, and goeth up unto the mount, and Moses is on the mount forty days and forty nights.

You shall put the poles into the rings on the sides of the ark to carry the ark.

And thou shalt put H935 (HiphPerf) the staves H905 into the rings H2885 by the sides H6763 of the ark, H727 that the ark H727 may be borne H5375 (QalInf) with them.

and hast brought the staves into the rings on the sides of the ark, to bear the ark by them,

You shall make fifty clasps of bronze, and put the clasps into the loops, and couple the tent together, that it may be one.

and thou hast made fifty hooks of brass, and hast brought in the hooks into the loops, and hast joined the tent, and it hath been one.

You shall hang up the veil under the clasps, and shall bring the ark of the covenant in there within the veil. The veil shall separate the holy place from the most holy for you.

And thou shalt hang up H5414 (QalPerf) the vail H6532 under the taches, H7165 that thou mayest bring H935 (HiphPerf) in thither within H1004 the vail H6532 the ark H727 of the testimony: H5715 and the vail H6532 shall divide H914 (HiphPerf) unto you between the holy H6944 [place] and the most H6944 holy. ‘And thou hast put the vail under the hooks, and hast brought in thither within the vail the ark of the testimony; and the vail hath made a separation for you between the holy and the holy of holies.

Its poles shall be put into the rings, and the poles shall be on the two sides of the altar when carrying it.

And the staves have been brought into the rings, and the staves have been on the two sides of the altar in bearing it.

Aaron shall bear the names of the children of Israel in the breastplate of judgment on his heart, when he goes in to the holy place, for a memorial before Yahweh continually.

And Aaron H175 shall bear H5375 (QalPerf) the names H8034 of the children H1121 of Israel H3478 in the breastplate H2833 of judgment H4941 upon his heart, H3820 when he goeth H935 (QalInf) in unto the holy H6944 [place], for a memorial H2146 before H6440 the Lord H3068 continually. H8548

‘And Aaron hath borne the names of the sons of Israel in the breastplate of judgment, on his heart, in his going in unto the sanctuary, for a memorial before Jehovah continually.

You shall put in the breastplate of judgment the Urim and the Thummim; and they shall be on Aaron’s heart, when he goes in before Yahweh. Aaron shall bear the judgment of the children of Israel on his heart before Yahweh continually.

And thou shalt put H5414 (QalPerf) in the breastplate H2833 of judgment H4941 the Urim H224 and the Thummim; H8550 and they shall be upon Aaron’s H175 heart, H3820 when he goeth H935 (QalInf) in before H6440 the Lord: H3068 and Aaron H175 shall bear H5375 (QalPerf) the judgment H4941 of the children H1121 of Israel H3478 upon his heart H3820 before H6440 the Lord H3068 continually. H8548

‘And thou hast put unto the breastplate of judgment the Lights and the Perfections, and they have been on the heart of Aaron, in his going in before Jehovah, and Aaron hath borne the judgment of the sons of Israel on his heart before Jehovah continually.

It shall be on Aaron to minister: and its sound shall be heard when he goes in to the holy place before Yahweh, and when he comes out, that he not die.

And it shall be upon Aaron H175 to minister: H8334 (PielInf) and his sound H6963 shall be heard H8085 (NiphPerf) when he goeth H935 (QalInf) in unto the holy H6944 [place] before H6440 the Lord, H3068 and when he cometh H3318 (QalInf) out, that he die H4191 (QalImpf) not.

‘And it hath been on Aaron to minister in, and its sound hath been heard in his coming in unto the sanctuary before Jehovah, and in his going out, and he doth not die.

They shall be on Aaron and on his sons, when they go in to the Tent of Meeting, or when they come near to the altar to minister in the holy place, that they don’t bear iniquity, and die. This shall be a statute forever to him and to his offspring after him.

And they shall be upon Aaron, H175 and upon his sons, H1121 when they come H935 (QalInf) in unto the tabernacle H168 of the congregation, H4150 or when they come near H5066 (QalInf) unto the altar H4196 to minister H8334 (PielInf) in the holy H6944 [place]; that they bear H5375 (QalImpf) not iniquity, H5771 and die: H4191 (QalPerf) [it shall be] a statute H2708 for ever H5769 unto him and his seed H2233 after H310 him.

and they have been on Aaron and on his sons, in their going in unto the tent of meeting, or in their drawing nigh unto the altar to minister in the sanctuary, and they do not bear iniquity nor have they died; a statute age-during to him, and to his seed after him.

Seven days shall the son who is priest in his place put them on, when he comes into the Tent of Meeting to minister in the holy place.

[And] that son H1121 that is priest H3548 in his stead shall put H3847 (QalImpf) them on seven H7651 days, H3117 when he cometh H935 (QalImpf) into the tabernacle H168 of the congregation H4150 to minister H8334 (PielInf) in the holy H6944 [place].

seven days doth the priest in his stead (of his sons) put them on, when he goeth in unto the tent of meeting, to minister in the sanctuary.

When they go into the Tent of Meeting, they shall wash with water, that they not die; or when they come near to the altar to minister, to burn an offering made by fire to Yahweh.

in their going in unto the tent of meeting they wash with water, and die not; or in their drawing nigh unto the altar to minister, to perfume a fire-offering to Jehovah,

Aaron said to them, “Take off the golden rings, which are in the ears of your wives, of your sons, and of your daughters, and bring them to me.”

And Aaron H175 said H559 (QalImpf) unto them, Break off H6561 (PielImpv) the golden H2091 earrings, H5141 which [are] in the ears H241 of your wives, H802 of your sons, H1121 and of your daughters, H1323 and bring H935 (HiphImpv) [them] unto me.

And Aaron saith unto them, ‘Break off the rings of gold which are in the ears of your wives, your sons, and your daughters, and bring in unto me;’

All the people took off the golden rings which were in their ears, and brought them to Aaron.

And all the people H5971 brake off H6561 (HithImpf) the golden H2091 earrings H5141 which [were] in their ears, H241 and brought H935 (HiphImpf) [them] unto Aaron. H175

and all the people themselves break off the rings of gold which are in their ears, and bring in unto Aaron,

Moses said to Aaron, “What did these people do to you, that you have brought a great sin on them?”

And Moses H4872 said H559 (QalImpf) unto Aaron, H175 What did H6213 (QalPerf) this people H5971 unto thee, that thou hast brought H935 (HiphPerf) so great H1419 a sin H2401 upon them?

And Moses saith unto Aaron, ‘What hath this people done to thee, that thou hast brought in upon it a great sin?’

When Moses went out to the Tent, all the people rose up, and stood, everyone at their tent door, and watched Moses, until he had gone into the Tent.

And it came to pass, when Moses H4872 went out H3318 (QalInf) unto the tabernacle, H168 [that] all the people H5971 rose up, H6965 (QalImpf) and stood H5324 (NiphPerf) every man H376 [at] his tent H168 door, H6607 and looked H5027 (HiphPerf) after H310 Moses, H4872 until he was gone H935 (QalInf) into the tabernacle. And it hath come to pass, at the going out of Moses unto the tent, all the people rise, and have stood, each at the opening of his tent, and have looked expectingly after Moses, until his going into the tent.

When Moses entered into the Tent, the pillar of cloud descended, stood at the door of the Tent, and Yahweh spoke with Moses.

And it came to pass, as Moses H4872 entered H935 (QalInf) into the tabernacle, H168 the cloudy H6051 pillar H5982 descended, H3381 (QalImpf) and stood H5975 (QalPerf) [at] the door H6607 of the tabernacle, H168 and [the Lord] talked H1696 (PielPerf) with Moses. H4872

And it hath come to pass, at the going in of Moses to the tent, the pillar of the cloud cometh down, and hath stood at the opening of the tent, and He hath spoken with Moses;

Be careful, lest you make a covenant with the inhabitants of the land where you are going, lest it be for a snare among you;

take heed to thyself, lest thou make a covenant with the inhabitant of the land into which thou art going, lest it become a snare in thy midst;

“You shall bring the first of the first fruits of your ground to the house of Yahweh your God. “You shall not boil a young goat in its mother’s milk.”

But when Moses went in before Yahweh to speak with him, he took the veil off, until he came out; and he came out, and spoke to the children of Israel that which he was commanded.

But when Moses H4872 went in H935 (QalInf) before H6440 the Lord H3068 to speak H1696 (PielInf) with him, he took H5493 the vail H4533 off, H5493 (HiphImpf) until he came out. and in the going in of Moses before Jehovah to speak with Him, he turneth aside the vail until his coming out; and he hath come out and hath spoken unto the sons of Israel that which he is commanded;

The children of Israel saw Moses’ face, that the skin of Moses’ face shone; so Moses put the veil on his face again, until he went in to speak with him.

And the children H1121 of Israel H3478 saw H7200 (QalPerf) the face H6440 of Moses, H4872 that the skin H5785 of Moses’ H4872 face H6440 shone: H7160 (QalPerf) and Moses H4872 put H7725 the vail H4533 upon his face H6440 again, H7725 (HiphPerf) until he went H935 (QalInf) in to speak H1696 (PielInf) with him.

and the sons of Israel have seen the face of Moses that the skin of the face of Moses hath shone, and Moses hath put back the vail on his face until his going in to speak with Him.

‘Take from among you an offering to Yahweh. Whoever is of a willing heart, let him bring it as Yahweh’s offering: gold, silver, bronze,

‘And all the wise-hearted among you come in, and make all that Jehovah hath commanded:

They came, everyone whose heart stirred him up, and everyone whom his spirit made willing, and brought Yahweh’s offering for the work of the Tent of Meeting, and for all of its service, and for the holy garments.

and they come in-every man whom his heart hath lifted up, and every one whom his spirit hath made willing-they have brought in the heave-offering of Jehovah for the work of the tent of meeting, and for all its service, and for the holy garments.
