“Therefore wait for me”, says Yahweh, “until the day that I rise up to the prey, for my determination is to gather the nations, that I may assemble the kingdoms to pour on them my indignation, even all my fierce anger, for all the earth will be devoured with the fire of my jealousy.

Therefore, wait for Me-an affirmation of Jehovah, For the day of My rising for prey, For My judgment is to gather nations, To assemble kingdoms, To pour out on them Mine indignation, All the heat of Mine anger, For by the fire of My jealousy consumed is all the earth.

“You looked for much, and, behold,^§ it came to little; and when you brought it home, I blew it away. Why?” says Yahweh of Armies, “Because of my house that lies waste, while each of you is busy with his own house.

Haggai 1:9 “Behold”, from “הִנֵּה”, means look at, take notice, observe, see, or gaze at. It is often used as an interjection.

And thou hast said unto them, Thus said Jehovah of Hosts, turn back unto Me, An affirmation of Jehovah of Hosts, And I turn back unto you, said Jehovah of Hosts.

Don’t you be like your fathers, to whom the former prophets proclaimed, saying: Yahweh of Armies says, ‘Return now from your evil ways and from your evil doings;’ but they didn’t hear nor listen to me, says Yahweh.

Be ye not as your fathers, H1 unto whom the former H7223 prophets H5030 have cried, H7121 (QalPerf) saying, H559 (QalInf) Thus saith H559 (QalPerf) the Lord H3068 of hosts; H6635 Turn H7725 (QalImpv) ye now from your evil H7451 ways, H1870 and [from] your evil H7451 doings: H4611 but they did not hear, H8085 (QalPerf) nor hearken H7181 (HiphPerf) unto me, saith H5002 (QalPasPtc) the Lord. Ye shall not be as your fathers, To whom the former prophets called, saying: Thus said Jehovah of Hosts, Turn back I pray you, From your evil ways and from your evil doings, And they did not hearken, Nor attend to Me-an affirmation of Jehovah.

Therefore Yahweh says: “I have returned to Jerusalem with mercy. My house shall be built in it,” says Yahweh of Armies, “and a line shall be stretched out over Jerusalem.” ’

Therefore, thus said Jehovah: I have turned to Jerusalem with mercies, My house is built in it, An affirmation of Jehovah of Hosts, And a line is stretched over Jerusalem.

For I,’ says Yahweh, ‘will be to her a wall of fire around it, and I will be the glory in the middle of her.

For I, saith H5002 (QalPasPtc) the Lord, H3068 will be unto her a wall H2346 of fire H784 round about, H5439 and will be the glory H3519 in the midst H8432 of her.

And I-I am to her-an affirmation of Jehovah, A wall of fire round about, And for honour I am in her midst.

Come! Come! Flee from the land of the north,’ says Yahweh; ‘for I have spread you abroad as the four winds of the sky,’ says Yahweh.

Ho, ho, and flee from the land of the north, An affirmation of Jehovah, For, as the four winds of the heavens, I have spread you abroad, An affirmation of Jehovah.

Sing and rejoice, daughter of Zion! For behold, I come and I will dwell within you,’ says Yahweh.

In that day,’ says Yahweh of Armies, ‘you will invite every man his neighbor under the vine and under the fig tree.’ ”

‘I have brought it out-an affirmation of Jehovah of Hosts-and it hath come in unto the house of the thief, and unto the house of him who hath sworn in My name to a falsehood, and it hath remained in the midst of his house, and hath consumed it, both its wood and its stones.’

Yahweh of Armies says: “If it is marvelous in the eyes of the remnant of this people in those days, should it also be marvelous in my eyes?” says Yahweh of Armies.

Thus saith H559 (QalPerf) the Lord H3068 of hosts; H6635 If it be marvellous H6381 (NiphImpf) in the eyes H5869 of the remnant H7611 of this people H5971 in these days, H3117 should it also be marvellous H6381 (NiphImpf) in mine eyes? H5869 saith H5002 (QalPasPtc) the Lord H3068 of hosts. H6635

Thus said Jehovah of Hosts: Surely it is wonderful in the eyes of the remnant of this people in those days, Also in Mine eyes it is wonderful, An affirmation of Jehovah of Hosts.

But now I will not be to the remnant of this people as in the former days,” says Yahweh of Armies.

But now I [will] not [be] unto the residue H7611 of this people H5971 as in the former H7223 days, H3117 saith H5002 (QalPasPtc) the Lord H3068 of hosts. H6635

And now, not as in the former days am I to the remnant of this people, An affirmation of Jehovah of Hosts.

and let none of you devise evil in your hearts against his neighbor, and love no false oath; for all these are things that I hate,” says Yahweh.

And let none H376 of you imagine H2803 (QalImpf) evil H7451 in your hearts H3824 against his neighbour; H7453 and love H157 (QalImpf) no false H8267 oath: H7621 for all these [are things] that I hate, H8130 (QalPerf) saith H5002 (QalPasPtc) the Lord. H3068

And each the evil of his neighbour ye do not devise in your heart, And a false oath ye do not love, For all these are things that I have hated, An affirmation of Jehovah.’
