The animals of the field, the jackals and the ostriches, shall honor me, because I give water in the wilderness and rivers in the desert, to give drink to my people, my chosen,

Honour me doth the beast of the field, Dragons and daughters of an ostrich, For I have given in a wilderness waters, Floods in a desolate place, To give drink to My people-My chosen.

Bel bows down. Nebo stoops. Their idols are carried by animals, and on the livestock. The things that you carried around are heavy loads, a burden for the weary.

Bowed down hath Bel, stooping is Nebo, Their idols have been for the beast and for cattle, Your burdens are loaded, a burden to the weary.

Lift up your eyes all around, and see: all these gather themselves together, and come to you. As I live,” says Yahweh, “you shall surely clothe yourself with them all as with an ornament, and dress yourself with them, like a bride.

Lift up round about thine eyes and see, All of them have been gathered, They have come to thee. I live, an affirmation of Jehovah! Surely all of them as an ornament thou puttest on, And thou bindest them on like a bride.

He was taken away by oppression and judgment. As for his generation, who considered that he was cut off out of the land of the living and stricken for the disobedience of my people?

All you animals of the field, come to devour, all you animals in the forest.

In the greatness of thy way thou hast laboured, Thou hast not said, ‘It is desperate.’ The life of thy hand thou hast found, Therefore thou hast not been sick.

“For my people have committed two evils: they have forsaken me, the spring of living waters, and cut out cisterns for themselves: broken cisterns that can’t hold water.

For two evils hath My people done, Me they have forsaken, a fountain of living waters, To hew out for themselves wells-broken wells, That contain not the waters.

and you will swear, ‘As Yahweh lives,’ in truth, in justice, and in righteousness. The nations will bless themselves in him, and they will glory in him.”

Though they say, ‘As Yahweh lives,’ surely they swear falsely.”

And if they say, ‘Jehovah liveth,’ Surely to a falsehood they swear.

Death will be chosen rather than life by all the residue that remain of this evil family, that remain in all the places where I have driven them,” says Yahweh of Armies.

And chosen is death rather than life By all the remnant who are left of this evil family, In all the remaining places, whither I have driven them, An affirmation of Jehovah of Hosts.

But Yahweh is the true God. He is the living God, and an everlasting King. At his wrath, the earth trembles. The nations aren’t able to withstand his indignation.

But the Lord H3068 [is] the true H571 God, H430 he [is] the living H2416 God, H430 and an everlasting H5769 king: H4428 at his wrath H7110 the earth H776 shall tremble, H7493 (QalImpf) and the nations H1471 shall not be able to abide H3557 (HiphImpf) his indignation. H2195

And Jehovah is a God of truth, He is a living God, and a king age-during, From His wrath shake doth the earth, And nations endure not His indignation.

But I was like a gentle lamb that is led to the slaughter. I didn’t know that they had devised plans against me, saying, “Let’s destroy the tree with its fruit, and let’s cut him off from the land of the living, that his name may be no more remembered.”

And I am as a trained lamb brought to slaughter, And I have not known That against me they have devised devices: We destroy the tree with its food, and cut him off From the land of the living, And his name is not remembered again.

Is my heritage to me as a speckled bird of prey? Are the birds of prey against her all around? Go, assemble all the animals of the field. Bring them to devour.

A speckled fowl is Mine inheritance to Me? Is the fowl round about against her? Come, assemble, every beast of the field, Come ye for food.

It will happen, if they will diligently learn the ways of my people, to swear by my name, ‘As Yahweh lives;’ even as they taught my people to swear by Baal, then they will be built up in the middle of my people.

“Therefore behold, the days come,” says Yahweh, “that it will no more be said, ‘As Yahweh lives, who brought up the children of Israel out of the land of Egypt;’

Therefore, lo, days are coming, An affirmation of Jehovah, And it is not said any more: ‘Jehovah liveth, who brought up The sons of Israel out of the land of Egypt,’

but, ‘As Yahweh lives, who brought up the children of Israel from the land of the north, and from all the countries where he had driven them.’ I will bring them again into their land that I gave to their fathers.

Yahweh, the hope of Israel, all who forsake you will be disappointed. Those who depart from me will be written in the earth, because they have forsaken Yahweh, the spring of living waters.

The hope of Israel is Jehovah, All forsaking Thee are ashamed, And ‘My apostates’ in the earth are written, For they have forsaken Jehovah, A fountain of living waters.

“You shall say to this people, ‘Yahweh says: “Behold, I set before you the way of life and the way of death.

And unto this people thou dost say, Thus said Jehovah: Lo, I am setting before you the way of life, And the way of death!

“As I live,” says Yahweh, “though Coniah the son of Jehoiakim king of Judah were the signet on my right hand, I would still pluck you from there.

You will mention the message from Yahweh no more, for every man’s own word has become his message; for you have perverted the words of the living God, of Yahweh of Armies, our God.

For Yahweh of Armies, the God of Israel says, “I have put a yoke of iron on the neck of all these nations, that they may serve Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon; and they will serve him. I have also given him the animals of the field.” ’ ”

For thus said Jehovah of Hosts, God of Israel, A yoke of iron I have put on the neck of all these nations to serve Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, and they have served him, and also the beast of the field I have given to him.’

So Zedekiah the king swore secretly to Jeremiah, saying, “As Yahweh lives, who made our souls, I will not put you to death, neither will I give you into the hand of these men who seek your life.”

‘Therefore, hear ye a word of Jehovah, all Judah who are dwelling in the land of Egypt: Lo, I-I have sworn by My great name, said Jehovah, My name is no more proclaimed by the mouth of any man of Judah, saying, Live doth the Lord Jehovah-in all the land of Egypt.

“As I live,” says the King, whose name is Yahweh of Armies, “surely like Tabor among the mountains, and like Carmel by the sea, so he will come.

[As] I live, H2416 saith H5002 (QalPasPtc) the King, H4428 whose name H8034 [is] the Lord H3068 of hosts, H6635 Surely as Tabor H8396 [is] among the mountains, H2022 and as Carmel H3760 by the sea, H3220 [so] shall he come. H935 (QalImpf)

Why should a living man complain, a man for the punishment of his sins?

Wherefore doth a living H2416 man H120 complain, H596 (HithImpf) a man H1397 for the punishment of his sins? H2399

What-sigh habitually doth a living man, A man for his sin?

They have cut off my life in the dungeon, and have cast a stone on me.

They have cut off in a pit my life, And they cast a stone against me.

Lord, you have pleaded the causes of my soul. You have redeemed my life.

Thou hast pleaded, O Lord, the pleadings of my soul, Thou hast redeemed my life.

Out of its center came the likeness of four living creatures. This was their appearance: They had the likeness of a man.

Also out of the midst H8432 thereof [came] the likeness H1823 of four H702 living creatures. H2416 And this [was] their appearance; H4758 they H2007 had the likeness H1823 of a man. H120

And out of its midst is a likeness of four living creatures, and this is their appearance; a likeness of man is to them,

As for the likeness of the living creatures, their appearance was like burning coals of fire, like the appearance of torches. The fire went up and down among the living creatures. The fire was bright, and lightning went out of the fire.

The living creatures ran and returned as the appearance of a flash of lightning.

When those went, these went. When those stood, these stood. When those were lifted up from the earth, the wheels were lifted up beside them; for the spirit of the living creature was in the wheels.

Over the head of the living creature there was the likeness of an expanse, like an awesome crystal to look at, stretched out over their heads above.

And a likeness is over the heads of the living creatures of an expanse, as the colour of the fearful ice, stretched out over their heads from above.

I heard the noise of the wings of the living creatures as they touched one another, and the noise of the wheels beside them, even the noise of a great rushing.

Therefore, I live-an affirmation of the Lord Jehovah: Because My sanctuary thou hast defiled, With all thy detestable things, And with all thine abominations, Mine eye pitieth not, and I also spare not. Do not even I also diminish?

I will send on you famine and evil animals, and they will bereave you. Pestilence and blood will pass through you. I will bring the sword on you. I, Yahweh, have spoken it.’ ”

And I have sent on you famine and evil beasts, And they have bereaved thee, And pestilence and blood pass over on thee, And a sword I do bring in against thee, I, Jehovah, have spoken!’

For the seller won’t return to that which is sold, although they are still alive; for the vision concerns the whole multitude of it. None will return. None will strengthen himself in the iniquity of his life.

For the seller H4376 (QalActPtc) shall not return H7725 (QalImpf) to that which is sold, H4465 although they were yet alive: H2416 for the vision H2377 [is] touching the whole multitude H1995 thereof, [which] shall not return; H7725 (QalImpf) neither shall any H376 strengthen H2388 (HithImpf) himself in the iniquity H5771 of his life. H2416

For the seller to the sold thing turneth not, And yet among the living is their life, For the vision is unto all its multitude, It doth not turn back, And none by his iniquity doth strengthen his life.

The cherubim mounted up. This is the living creature that I saw by the river Chebar.

And the cherubims H3742 were lifted up. H7426 (NiphImpf) This [is] the living creature H2416 that I saw H7200 (QalPerf) by the river H5104 of Chebar. H3529

And the cherubs are lifted up, it is the living creature that I saw by the river Chebar.

When they stood, these stood. When they mounted up, these mounted up with them; for the spirit of the living creature was in them.

When they stood, H5975 (QalInf) [these] stood; H5975 (QalImpf) and when they were lifted up, H7311 (QalInf) [these] lifted up H7426 (NiphImpf) themselves [also]: for the spirit H7307 of the living creature H2416 [was] in them.

In their standing they stand, and in their exaltation they are exalted with them: for the living spirit is in them.

This is the living creature that I saw under the God of Israel by the river Chebar; and I knew that they were cherubim.

This [is] the living creature H2416 that I saw H7200 (QalPerf) under the God H430 of Israel H3478 by the river H5104 of Chebar; H3529 and I knew H3045 (QalImpf) that they [were] the cherubims. H3742

It is the living creature that I saw under the God of Israel by the river Chebar, and I know that they are cherubs.

“If I cause evil animals to pass through the land, and they ravage it and it is made desolate, so that no man may pass through because of the animals—

If H3863 I cause noisome H7451 beasts H2416 to pass through H5674 (HiphImpf) the land, H776 and they spoil H7921 (PielPerf) it, so that it be desolate, H8077 that no man may pass through H5674 (QalActPtc) because H6440 of the beasts: H2416

‘If an evil beast I cause to pass through the land, and it hath bereaved, and it hath been a desolation, without any passing through because of the beast-

though these three men were in it, as I live,” says the Lord Yahweh, “they would deliver neither sons nor daughters. They only would be delivered, but the land would be desolate.

[Though] these three H7969 men H582 [were] in it, H8432 [as] I live, H2416 saith H5002 (QalPasPtc) the Lord H136 God, H3069 they shall deliver H5337 (HiphImpf) neither sons H1121 nor daughters; H1323 they only shall be delivered, H5337 (NiphImpf) but the land H776 shall be desolate. H8077

these three men in its midst: I live-an affirmation of the Lord Jehovah-neither sons nor daughters do they deliver; they alone are delivered, and the land is a desolation.
