If I take the wings of the dawn, and settle in the uttermost parts of the sea,

I take the wings of morning, I dwell in the uttermost part of the sea,

For they speak against you wickedly. Your enemies take your name in vain.

Who exchange Thee for wickedness, Lifted up to vanity are Thine enemies.

Acceptance of the face of the wicked is not good, To turn aside the righteous in judgment.

A man’s spirit will sustain him in sickness, but a crushed spirit, who can bear?

A hot-tempered man must pay the penalty, for if you rescue him, you must do it again.

Man is brought low, and mankind is humbled; therefore don’t forgive them.

And the low boweth down, and the high is humbled, And Thou acceptest them not.

Head of fifty, and accepted of faces, And counsellor, and the wise of artificers, And the intelligent of charmers.

In that day he will cry out, saying, “I will not be a healer; for in my house is neither bread nor clothing. You shall not make me ruler of the people.”

He lifteth up, in that day, saying: ‘I am not a binder up, And in my house is neither bread nor garment, Ye do not make me a ruler of the people.’

He will lift up a banner to the nations from far away, and he will whistle for them from the end of the earth. Behold, they will come speedily and swiftly.

The elder and the honorable man is the head, and the prophet who teaches lies is the tail.

Elder, and accepted of face, he is the head, Prophet, teacher of falsehood, he is the tail.

Therefore the Lord, Yahweh of Armies, says, “My people who dwell in Zion, don’t be afraid of the Assyrian, though he strike you with the rod, and lift up his staff against you, as Egypt did.

Yahweh of Armies will stir up a scourge against him, as in the slaughter of Midian at the rock of Oreb. His rod will be over the sea, and he will lift it up like he did against Egypt.

Set up a banner on the bare mountain! Lift up your voice to them! Wave your hand, that they may go into the gates of the nobles.

that you will take up this parable against the king of Babylon, and say, “How the oppressor has ceased! The golden city has ceased!”

Therefore they will carry away the abundance they have gotten, and that which they have stored up, over the brook of the willows.

All ye inhabitants of the world, And ye dwellers of earth, At the lifting up of an ensign on hills ye look, And at the blowing of a trumpet ye hear.

Elam carried his quiver, with chariots of men and horsemen; and Kir uncovered the shield.

And Elam hath borne a quiver, In a chariot of men-horsemen, And Kir hath exposed a shield.

These shall lift up their voice. They will shout for the majesty of Yahweh. They cry aloud from the sea.

The burden of the animals of the South. Through the land of trouble and anguish, of the lioness and the lion, the viper and fiery flying serpent, they carry their riches on the shoulders of young donkeys, and their treasures on the humps of camels, to an unprofitable people.

The burden of the beasts of the south. Into a land of adversity and distress, Of young lion and of old lion, Whence are viper and flying saraph, They carry on the shoulder of asses their wealth, And on the hump of camels their treasures, Unto a people not profitable.

There will be brooks and streams of water on every lofty mountain and on every high hill in the day of the great slaughter, when the towers fall.

And there shall be upon every high H1364 mountain, H2022 and upon every high H5375 (NiphPtc) hill, H1389 rivers H6388 [and] streams H2988 of waters H4325 in the day H3117 of the great H7227 slaughter, H2027 when the towers H4026 fall. H5307 (QalInf)

And there hath been on every high mount, And on every exalted hill, Rivulets-streams of waters, In a day of much slaughter, in the falling of towers.

“Now I will arise,” says Yahweh. “Now I will lift myself up. Now I will be exalted.

Now will I rise, H6965 (QalImpf) saith H559 (QalImpf) the Lord; H3068 now will I be exalted; H7426 (NiphImpf) now will I lift up H5375 (NiphImpf) myself.

Now, do I arise, saith Jehovah, Now I am exalted, now I am lifted up.

The inhabitant won’t say, “I am sick.” The people who dwell therein will be forgiven their iniquity.

And the inhabitant H7934 shall not say, H559 (QalImpf) I am sick: H2470 (QalPerf) the people H5971 that dwell H3427 (QalActPtc) therein [shall be] forgiven H5375 (QalPasPtc) [their] iniquity. H5771

Nor doth an inhabitant say, ‘I was sick,’ The people that is dwelling in it, is forgiven of iniquity!

It may be Yahweh your God will hear the words of Rabshakeh, whom the king of Assyria his master has sent to defy the living God, and will rebuke the words which Yahweh your God has heard. Therefore lift up your prayer for the remnant that is left.’ ”

‘It may be Jehovah thy God doth hear the words of Rabshakeh with which the king of Asshur his lord hath sent him to reproach the living God, and hath decided concerning the words that Jehovah thy God hath heard, and thou hast lifted up prayer for the remnant that is found.’

Whom have you defied and blasphemed? Against whom have you exalted your voice and lifted up your eyes on high? Against the Holy One of Israel.

Every valley shall be exalted, and every mountain and hill shall be made low. The uneven shall be made level, and the rough places a plain.

He will feed his flock like a shepherd. He will gather the lambs in his arm, and carry them in his bosom. He will gently lead those who have their young.

They are planted scarcely. They are sown scarcely. Their stock has scarcely taken root in the ground. He merely blows on them, and they wither, and the whirlwind takes them away as stubble.

Yea, they have not been planted, Yea, they have not been sown, Yea, not taking root in the earth is their stock, And also He hath blown upon them, and they wither, And a whirlwind as stubble taketh them away.
