Then Yahweh’s Spirit will come mightily on you, then you will prophesy with them and will be turned into another man.

When they came there to the hill, behold, a band of prophets met him; and the Spirit of God came mightily on him, and he prophesied among them.

When Saul was told, he sent other messengers, and they also prophesied. Saul sent messengers again the third time, and they also prophesied.

και επροφητευσεν ελιεζερ ο του δωδια απο μαρισης επι ιωσαφατ λεγων ως εφιλιασας τω οχοζια εθραυσεν κυριος το εργον σου και συνετριβη τα πλοια σου και ουκ εδυνασθη του πορευθηναι εις θαρσις

The priests didn’t say, ‘Where is Yahweh?’ and those who handle the law didn’t know me. The rulers also transgressed against me, and the prophets prophesied by Baal and followed things that do not profit.

The people to whom they prophesy will be cast out in the streets of Jerusalem because of the famine and the sword. They will have no one to bury them—them, their wives, their sons, or their daughters, for I will pour their wickedness on them.

Then Jeremiah came from Topheth, where Yahweh had sent him to prophesy, and he stood in the court of Yahweh’s house, and said to all the people:

Now Pashhur, the son of Immer the priest, who was chief officer in Yahweh’s house, heard Jeremiah prophesying these things.

You, Pashhur, and all who dwell in your house will go into captivity. You will come to Babylon, and there you will die, and there you will be buried, you, and all your friends, to whom you have prophesied falsely.’ ”

“I have seen folly in the prophets of Samaria. They prophesied by Baal, and caused my people Israel to err.

Yahweh of Armies says, “Don’t listen to the words of the prophets who prophesy to you. They teach you vanity. They speak a vision of their own heart, and not out of the mouth of Yahweh.

I didn’t send these prophets, yet they ran. I didn’t speak to them, yet they prophesied.

“I have heard what the prophets have said, who prophesy lies in my name, saying, ‘I had a dream! I had a dream!’

εως ποτε εσται εν καρδια των προφητων των προφητευοντων ψευδη και εν τω προφητευειν αυτους τα θεληματα καρδιας αυτων

Behold, I am against those who prophesy lying dreams,” says Yahweh, “who tell them, and cause my people to err by their lies, and by their vain boasting; yet I didn’t send them or command them. They don’t profit this people at all,” says Yahweh.

Why have you prophesied in Yahweh’s name, saying, ‘This house will be like Shiloh, and this city will be desolate, without inhabitant’?” All the people were crowded around Jeremiah in Yahweh’s house.

Why hast thou prophesied H5012 (NiphPerf) in the name H8034 of the Lord, H3068 saying, H559 (QalInf) This house H1004 shall be like Shiloh, H7887 and this city H5892 shall be desolate H2717 (QalImpf) without an inhabitant? Then the priests and the prophets spoke to the princes and to all the people, saying, “This man is worthy of death, for he has prophesied against this city, as you have heard with your ears.”

There was also a man who prophesied in Yahweh’s name, Uriah the son of Shemaiah of Kiriath Jearim; and he prophesied against this city and against this land according to all the words of Jeremiah.

for they prophesy a lie to you, to remove you far from your land, so that I would drive you out, and you would perish.
