God’s anger burned because he went; and Yahweh’s angel placed himself in the way as an adversary against him. Now he was riding on his donkey, and his two servants were with him.

και εβοησεν το ταχος προς το παιδαριον τον αιροντα τα σκευη αυτου και ειπεν αυτω σπασαι την μαχαιραν σου και θανατωσον με μηποτε ειπωσιν γυνη απεκτεινεν αυτον και εξεκεντησεν αυτον το παιδαριον αυτου και απεθανεν αβιμελεχ

for, behold, you shall conceive and give birth to a son. No razor shall come on his head, for the child shall be a Nazirite to God from the womb. He shall begin to save Israel out of the hand of the Philistines.”

For, lo, thou shalt conceive, H2030 and bear H3205 (QalActPtc) a son; H1121 and no razor H4177 shall come H5927 (QalImpf) on his head: H7218 for the child H5288 shall be a Nazarite H5139 unto God H430 from the womb: H990 and he shall begin H2490 (HiphImpf) to deliver H3467 (HiphInf) Israel H3478 out of the hand H3027 of the Philistines. H6430

οτι ιδου συ εν γαστρι εξεις και τεξη υιον και ουκ αναβησεται σιδηρος επι την κεφαλην αυτου οτι ηγιασμενον ναζιραιον εσται τω θεω το παιδαριον εκ της γαστρος και αυτος αρξεται σωζειν τον ισραηλ εκ χειρος αλλοφυλων

but he said to me, ‘Behold, you shall conceive and bear a son; and now drink no wine nor strong drink. Don’t eat any unclean thing, for the child shall be a Nazirite to God from the womb to the day of his death.’ ”

But he said H559 (QalImpf) unto me, Behold, thou shalt conceive, H2030 and bear H3205 (QalActPtc) a son; H1121 and now drink H7941 no wine H3196 nor strong drink, H8354 (QalImpf) neither eat H398 (QalImpf) any unclean H2932 [thing]: for the child H5288 shall be a Nazarite H5139 to God H430 from the womb H990 to the day H3117 of his death. H4194

και ειπεν μοι ιδου συ εν γαστρι εξεις και τεξη υιον και νυν μη πιης οινον και σικερα και μη φαγης πασαν ακαθαρσιαν οτι ναζιραιον θεου εσται το παιδαριον απο της γαστρος εως ημερας θανατου αυτου

Then Manoah entreated Yahweh, and said, “Oh, Lord, please let the man of God whom you sent come again to us, and teach us what we should do to the child who shall be born.”

Then Manoah H4495 intreated H6279 (QalImpf) the Lord, H3068 and said, H559 (QalImpf) O H994 my Lord, H136 let H4994 the man H376 of God H430 which thou didst send H7971 (QalPerf) come again H935 (QalImpf) unto us, and teach H3384 (HiphImpf) us what we shall do H6213 (QalImpf) unto the child H5288 that shall be born. και εδεηθη μανωε του κυριου και ειπεν εν εμοι κυριε ανθρωπος του θεου ον απεστειλας προς ημας ελθετω δη προς ημας και φωτισατω ημας τι ποιησωμεν τω παιδαριω τω τικτομενω

Manoah said, “Now let your words happen. What shall the child’s way of life and mission be?”

And Manoah H4495 said, H559 (QalImpf) Now let thy words H1697 come to pass. H935 (QalImpf) How shall we order H4941 the child, H5288 and [how] shall we do H4639 unto him?

και ειπεν μανωε νυν δη ελθοντος του ρηματος σου τι εσται το κριμα του παιδαριου και τα εργα αυτου

The woman bore a son and named him Samson. The child grew, and Yahweh blessed him.

And the woman H802 bare H3205 (QalImpf) a son, H1121 and called H7121 (QalImpf) his name H8034 Samson: H8123 and the child H5288 grew, H1431 (QalImpf) and the Lord H3068 blessed H1288 (PielImpf) him.

και ετεκεν η γυνη υιον και εκαλεσεν το ονομα αυτου σαμψων και ηυλογησεν αυτον κυριος και ηυξηθη το παιδαριον

and Samson said to the boy who held him by the hand, “Allow me to feel the pillars on which the house rests, that I may lean on them.”

And Samson H8123 said H559 (QalImpf) unto the lad H5288 that held H2388 (HiphPtc) him by the hand, H3027 Suffer H3240 (HiphImpv) me that I may feel H4184 (HiphImpv) (Qere) H3237 (HiphImpv) the pillars H5982 whereupon the house H1004 standeth, H3559 (NiphPtc) that I may lean H8172 (NiphImpf) upon them.

και ειπεν σαμψων προς το παιδαριον τον χειραγωγουντα αυτον επαναπαυσον με δη και ποιησον ψηλαφησαι με επι τους στυλους εφ ων ο οικος επεστηρικται επ αυτων και επιστηρισομαι επ αυτους ο δε παις εποιησεν ουτως

There was a young man out of Bethlehem Judah, of the family of Judah, who was a Levite; and he lived there.

And there was a young man H5288 out of Bethlehemjudah H1035 H3063 of the family H4940 of Judah, H3063 who [was] a Levite, H3881 and he sojourned H1481 (QalPerf) there.

και εγενετο παιδαριον εκ βηθλεεμ δημου ιουδα εκ της συγγενειας ιουδα και αυτος λευιτης και αυτος παρωκει εκει

The Levite was content to dwell with the man; and the young man was to him as one of his sons.

And the Levite H3881 was content H2974 (HiphImpf) to dwell H3427 (QalInf) with the man; H376 and the young man H5288 was unto him as one H259 of his sons. H1121

και ηρξατο παροικειν παρα τω ανδρι και εγενηθη αυτω το παιδαριον ως εις των υιων αυτου

Micah consecrated the Levite, and the young man became his priest, and was in the house of Micah.

And Micah H4318 consecrated H4390 (PielImpf) H3027 the Levite; H3881 and the young man H5288 became his priest, H3548 and was in the house H1004 of Micah. H4318

και ενεπλησεν μιχα την χειρα του λευιτου και εγενηθη αυτω το παιδαριον εις ιερεα και ην εν τω οικω μιχα

When they were by the house of Micah, they knew the voice of the young man the Levite; so they went over there and said to him, “Who brought you here? What do you do in this place? What do you have here?”

When they [were] by the house H1004 of Micah, H4318 they knew H5234 (HiphPerf) the voice H6963 of the young man H5288 the Levite: H3881 and they turned in H5493 (QalImpf) thither, and said H559 (QalImpf) unto him, Who brought H935 (HiphPerf) thee hither? H1988 and what makest H6213 (QalActPtc) thou in this [place]? and what hast thou here?

αυτων οντων παρα τω οικω μιχα και αυτοι επεγνωσαν την φωνην του παιδαριου του νεωτερου του λευιτου και εξεκλιναν εκει και ειπαν αυτω τις ηγαγεν σε ωδε και τι ποιεις ενταυθα και τι σοι εστιν ωδε

They went over there and came to the house of the young Levite man, even to the house of Micah, and asked him how he was doing.

And they turned H5493 (QalImpf) thitherward, and came H935 (QalImpf) to the house H1004 of the young man H5288 the Levite, H3881 [even] unto the house H1004 of Micah, H4318 and saluted H7592 (QalImpf) H7965 him.

και εξεκλιναν εκει και εισηλθοσαν εις τον οικον του παιδαριου του λευιτου εις τον οικον μιχα και ησπασαντο αυτον

Her husband arose and went after her to speak kindly to her, to bring her again, having his servant with him and a couple of donkeys. She brought him into her father’s house; and when the father of the young lady saw him, he rejoiced to meet him.

And her husband H376 arose, H6965 (QalImpf) and went H3212 (QalImpf) after H310 her, to speak H1696 (PielInf) friendly H3820 unto her, [and] to bring her again, H7725 (HiphInf) having his servant H5288 with him, and a couple H6776 of asses: H2543 and she brought H935 (HiphImpf) him into her father’s H1 house: H1004 and when the father H1 of the damsel H5291 saw H7200 (QalImpf) him, he rejoiced H8055 (QalImpf) to meet H7125 (QalInf) him.

και ανεστη ο ανηρ αυτης και επορευθη κατοπισθεν αυτης του λαλησαι επι την καρδιαν αυτης του διαλλαξαι αυτην εαυτω και απαγαγειν αυτην παλιν προς αυτον και το παιδαριον αυτου μετ αυτου και ζευγος υποζυγιων και επορευθη εως οικου του πατρος αυτης και ειδεν αυτον ο πατηρ της νεανιδος και παρην εις απαντησιν αυτου
