Numbers 11:2 Heb. sunk

The name of that place was called Taberah,° because Yahweh’s fire burned among them.

Numbers 11:3 Taberah means “burning”

And he called H7121 (QalImpf) the name H8034 of the H1931 place H4725 Taberah:° H8404 because the fire H784 of the Lord H3068 burnt H1197 (QalPerf) among them.

and the earth opened its mouth, and swallowed them up together with Korah when that company died; at the time the fire devoured two hundred fifty men, and they became a sign.

For Yahweh your God is a devouring fire, a jealous God.

Did a people ever hear the voice of God speaking out of the middle of the fire, as you have heard, and live?

Out of heaven he made you to hear his voice, that he might instruct you. On earth he made you to see his great fire; and you heard his words out of the middle of the fire.

Yahweh spoke these words to all your assembly on the mountain out of the middle of the fire, of the cloud, and of the thick darkness, with a great voice. He added no more. He wrote them on two stone tablets, and gave them to me.

Now therefore, why should we die? For this great fire will consume us. If we hear Yahweh our God’s voice any more, then we shall die.

For who is there of all flesh who has heard the voice of the living God speaking out of the middle of the fire, as we have, and lived?

Yahweh delivered to me the two stone tablets written with God’s finger. On them were all the words which Yahweh spoke with you on the mountain out of the middle of the fire in the day of the assembly.

So I turned and came down from the mountain, and the mountain was burning with fire. The two tablets of the covenant were in my two hands.

He wrote on the tablets, according to the first writing, the ten commandments, which Yahweh spoke to you on the mountain out of the middle of the fire in the day of the assembly; and Yahweh gave them to me.

For a fire is kindled in my anger, that burns to the lowest Sheol,° devours the earth with its increase, and sets the foundations of the mountains on fire.
