Alas Assyrian, the rod of my anger, the staff in whose hand is my indignation!

Woe to Asshur, a rod of Mine anger, And a staff in their hand is Mine indignation.

As my hand has found the kingdoms of the idols, whose engraved images exceeded those of Jerusalem and of Samaria,

As my hand H3027 hath found H4672 (QalPerf) the kingdoms H4467 of the idols, H457 and whose graven images H6456 did excel them of Jerusalem H3389 and of Samaria; H8111

As my hand hath got to the kingdoms of a worthless thing, and their graven images, Greater than Jerusalem and than Samaria,

For he has said, “By the strength of my hand I have done it, and by my wisdom, for I have understanding. I have removed the boundaries of the peoples, and have robbed their treasures. Like a valiant man I have brought down their rulers.

For he saith, H559 (QalPerf) By the strength H3581 of my hand H3027 I have done H6213 (QalPerf) [it], and by my wisdom; H2451 for I am prudent: H995 (NiphPerf) and I have removed H5493 (HiphImpf) the bounds H1367 of the people, H5971 and have robbed H8154 (PoelPerf) their treasures, H6259 (Qere) H6264 and I have put down H3381 (HiphImpf) the inhabitants H3427 (QalActPtc) like a valiant H47 H3524 [man]:

For he hath said, ‘By the power of my hand I have wrought, And by my wisdom, for I have been intelligent, And I remove borders of the peoples, And their chief ones I have spoiled, And I put down as a mighty one the inhabitants,

My hand has found the riches of the peoples like a nest, and like one gathers eggs that are abandoned, I have gathered all the earth. There was no one who moved their wing, or that opened their mouth, or chirped.”

And my hand H3027 hath found H4672 (QalImpf) as a nest H7064 the riches H2428 of the people: H5971 and as one gathereth H622 (QalInf) eggs H1000 [that are] left, H5800 (QalPasPtc) have I gathered H622 (QalPerf) all the earth; H776 and there was none that moved H5074 (QalActPtc) the wing, H3671 or opened H6475 (QalActPtc) the mouth, H6310 or peeped. And my hand as to a nest Getteth to the wealth of the peoples, And as a gathering of forsaken eggs All the earth I-I have gathered, And there hath not been one moving wing, Or opening mouth, or whispering.’

This very day he will halt at Nob. He shakes his hand at the mountain of the daughter of Zion, the hill of Jerusalem.

As yet shall he remain H5975 (QalInf) at Nob H5011 that day: H3117 he shall shake H5130 (PoleImpf) his hand H3027 [against] the mount H2022 of the daughter H1323 (Qere) H1004 of Zion, H6726 the hill H1389 of Jerusalem. H3389

Yet to-day in Nob to remain, Wave its hand doth the mount of the daughter of Zion, The hill of Jerusalem.

The nursing child will play near a cobra’s hole, and the weaned child will put his hand on the viper’s den.

And the sucking child H3243 (QalActPtc) shall play H8173 (PilpPerf) on the hole H2352 of the asp, H6620 and the weaned child H1580 (QalPasPtc) shall put H1911 (QalPerf) his hand H3027 on the cockatrice’ H6848 den. H3975

And played hath a suckling by the hole of an asp, And on the den of a cockatrice Hath the weaned one put his hand.

It will happen in that day that the Lord will set his hand again the second time to recover the remnant that is left of his people from Assyria, from Egypt, from Pathros, from Cush, from Elam, from Shinar, from Hamath, and from the islands of the sea.

And it shall come to pass in that day, H3117 [that] the Lord H136 shall set H3254 his hand H3027 again H3254 (HiphImpf) the second time H8145 to recover H7069 (QalInf) the remnant H7605 of his people, H5971 which shall be left, H7604 (NiphImpf) from Assyria, H804 and from Egypt, H4714 and from Pathros, H6624 and from Cush, H3568 and from Elam, H5867 and from Shinar, H8152 and from Hamath, H2574 and from the islands H339 of the sea. And it hath come to pass, in that day, The Lord addeth a second time his power, To get the remnant of His people that is left, From Asshur, and from Egypt, And from Pathros, and from Cush, And from Elam, and from Shinar, And from Hamath, and from isles of the sea,

They will fly down on the shoulders of the Philistines on the west. Together they will plunder the children of the east. They will extend their power over Edom and Moab, and the children of Ammon will obey them.

But they shall fly H5774 (QalPerf) upon the shoulders H3802 of the Philistines H6430 toward the west; H3220 they shall spoil H962 (QalImpf) them H1121 of the east H6924 together: H3162 they shall lay H4916 their hand H3027 upon Edom H123 and Moab; H4124 and the children H1121 of Ammon H5983 shall obey H4928 them.

And they have flown on the shoulder of the Philistines westward, Together they spoil the sons of the east, Edom and Moab sending forth their hand, And sons of Ammon obeying them.

Yahweh will utterly destroy the tongue of the Egyptian sea; and with his scorching wind he will wave his hand over the River, and will split it into seven streams, and cause men to march over in sandals.

And the Lord H3068 shall utterly destroy H2763 (HiphPerf) the tongue H3956 of the Egyptian H4714 sea; H3220 and with his mighty H5868 wind H7307 shall he shake H5130 (HiphPerf) his hand H3027 over the river, H5104 and shall smite H5221 (HiphPerf) it in the seven H7651 streams, H5158 and make [men] go over H1869 (HiphPerf) dryshod. And Jehovah hath devoted to destruction The tongue of the sea of Egypt, And hath waved His hand over the river, In the terror of his wind, And hath smitten it at the seven streams, And hath caused men to tread it with shoes.

Set up a banner on the bare mountain! Lift up your voice to them! Wave your hand, that they may go into the gates of the nobles.

Lift ye up H5375 (QalImpv) a banner H5251 upon the high H8192 (NiphPtc) mountain, H2022 exalt H7311 (HiphImpv) the voice H6963 unto them, shake H5130 (HiphImpv) the hand, H3027 that they may go H935 (QalImpf) into the gates H6607 of the nobles. H5081

‘On a high mountain lift ye up an ensign, Raise the voice to them, wave the hand, And they go in to the openings of nobles.

Therefore all hands will be feeble, and everyone’s heart will melt.

Therefore shall all hands H3027 be faint, H7503 (QalImpf) and every man’s H582 heart H3824 shall melt: H4549 (NiphImpf)

Therefore, all hands do fail, And every heart of man doth melt.

This is the plan that is determined for the whole earth. This is the hand that is stretched out over all the nations.

This [is] the purpose H6098 that is purposed H3289 (QalPasPtc) upon the whole earth: H776 and this [is] the hand H3027 that is stretched out H5186 (QalPasPtc) upon all the nations. H1471

This is the counsel that is counselled for all the earth, And this is the hand that is stretched out for all the nations.

For Yahweh of Armies has planned, and who can stop it? His hand is stretched out, and who can turn it back?”

For the Lord H3068 of hosts H6635 hath purposed, H3289 (QalPerf) and who shall disannul H6565 (HiphImpf) [it]? and his hand H3027 [is] stretched out, H5186 (QalPasPtc) and who shall turn it back? H7725 (HiphImpf)

For Jehovah of Hosts hath purposed, And who doth make void? And His hand that is stretched out, Who doth turn it back?’

They will not look to the altars, the work of their hands; neither shall they respect that which their fingers have made, either the Asherah poles or the incense altars.

And he shall not look H8159 (QalImpf) to the altars, H4196 the work H4639 of his hands, H3027 neither shall respect H7200 (QalImpf) [that] which his fingers H676 have made, H6213 (QalPerf) either the groves, H842 or the images. H2553

And he looketh not unto the altars. The work of his own hands, And that which his own fingers made He seeth not-the shrines and the images.

I will give over the Egyptians into the hand of a cruel lord. A fierce king will rule over them,” says the Lord, Yahweh of Armies.

And H853 the Egyptians H4714 will I give over H5534 (PielPerf) into the hand H3027 of a cruel H7186 lord; H113 and a fierce H5794 king H4428 shall rule H4910 (QalImpf) over them, saith H5002 (QalPasPtc) the Lord, H113 the Lord H3068 of hosts. H6635

And I have delivered the Egyptians Into the hand of a hard lord, And a strong king doth rule over them, An affirmation of the Lord, Jehovah of Hosts.

In that day the Egyptians will be like women. They will tremble and fear because of the shaking of Yahweh of Armies’s hand, which he shakes over them.

In that day H3117 shall Egypt H4714 be like unto women: H802 and it shall be afraid H2729 (QalPerf) and fear H6342 (QalPerf) because H6440 of the shaking H8573 of the hand H3027 of the Lord H3068 of hosts, H6635 which he shaketh H5130 (HiphPtc) over it.

In that day is Egypt like women, And it hath mourned, and been afraid, Because of the waving of the hand of Jehovah of Hosts, That He is waving over it.

because Yahweh of Armies has blessed them, saying, “Blessed be Egypt my people, Assyria the work of my hands, and Israel my inheritance.”

Whom the Lord H3068 of hosts H6635 shall bless, H1288 (PielPerf) saying, H559 (QalInf) Blessed H1288 (QalPasPtc) [be] Egypt H4714 my people, H5971 and Assyria H804 the work H4639 of my hands, H3027 and Israel H3478 mine inheritance. H5159

In that Jehovah of Hosts did bless it, saying, ‘Blessed is My people-Egypt, And the work of My hands-Asshur, And Mine inheritance-Israel!’

at that time Yahweh spoke by Isaiah the son of Amoz, saying, “Go, and loosen the sackcloth from off your waist, and take your sandals from off your feet.” He did so, walking naked and barefoot.

At the same time H6256 spake H1696 (PielPerf) the Lord H3068 by H3027 Isaiah H3470 the son H1121 of Amoz, H531 saying, H559 (QalInf) Go H3212 (QalImpv) and loose H6605 (PielPerf) the sackcloth H8242 from off thy loins, H4975 and put off H2502 (QalImpf) thy shoe H5275 from thy foot. at that time spake Jehovah by the hand of Isaiah son of Amoz, saying, ‘Go, and thou hast loosed the sackcloth from off thy loins, and thy sandal thou dost draw from off thy foot,’ and he doth so, going naked and barefoot.

He will surely wind you around and around, and throw you like a ball into a large country. There you will die, and there the chariots of your glory will be, you disgrace of your lord’s house.

And thy coverer covering, wrapping round, Wrappeth thee round, O babbler, On a land broad of sides-there thou diest, And there the chariots of thine honour Are the shame of the house of thy lord.

and I will clothe him with your robe, and strengthen him with your belt. I will commit your government into his hand; and he will be a father to the inhabitants of Jerusalem, and to the house of Judah.

And I will clothe H3847 (HiphPerf) him with thy robe, H3801 and strengthen H2388 (PielImpf) him with thy girdle, H73 and I will commit H5414 (QalImpf) thy government H4475 into his hand: H3027 and he shall be a father H1 to the inhabitants H3427 (QalActPtc) of Jerusalem, H3389 and to the house H1004 of Judah. H3063

And I have clothed him with thy coat, And with thy girdle I strengthen him, And thy garment I give into his hand, And he hath been for a father to the inhabitant of Jerusalem, And to the house of Judah.

He has stretched out his hand over the sea. He has shaken the kingdoms. Yahweh has ordered the destruction of Canaan’s strongholds.

He stretched out H5186 (QalPerf) his hand H3027 over the sea, H3220 he shook H7264 (HiphPerf) the kingdoms: H4467 the Lord H3068 hath given a commandment H6680 (PielPerf) against the merchant H3667 [city], to destroy H8045 (HiphInf) the strong H4581 holds H4581 thereof.

His hand He hath stretched out over the sea, He hath caused kingdoms to tremble, Jehovah hath charged concerning the merchant one, To destroy her strong places.

For Yahweh’s hand will rest in this mountain. Moab will be trodden down in his place, even like straw is trodden down in the water of the dunghill.

For in this mountain H2022 shall the hand H3027 of the Lord H3068 rest, H5117 (QalImpf) and Moab H4124 shall be trodden down H1758 (NiphInf) under him, even as straw H4963 is trodden down H1758 (NiphPerf) for the dunghill. H1119 H4087 (Qere) H4325

For rest doth the hand of Jehovah on this mountain, And trodden down is Moab under Him, As trodden down is straw on a dunghill.

He will spread out his hands in the middle of it, like one who swims spreads out hands to swim, but his pride will be humbled together with the craft of his hands.

And he shall spread forth H6566 (PielPerf) his hands H3027 in the midst H7130 of them, as he that swimmeth H7811 (QalActPtc) spreadeth forth H6566 (PielImpf) [his hands] to swim: H7811 (QalInf) and he shall bring down H8213 (HiphPerf) their pride H1346 together with the spoils H698 of their hands. H3027

And he spread out his hands in its midst, As spread out doth the swimmer to swim; And He hath humbled his excellency With the machinations of his hands.

Yahweh, your hand is lifted up, yet they don’t see; but they will see your zeal for the people and be disappointed. Yes, fire will consume your adversaries.

Lord, H3068 [when] thy hand H3027 is lifted up, H7311 (QalPerf) they will not see: H2372 (QalImpf) [but] they shall see, H2372 (QalImpf) and be ashamed H954 (QalImpf) for [their] envy H7068 at the people; H5971 yea, the fire H784 of thine enemies H6862 shall devour H398 (QalImpf) them.

O Jehovah, high is Thy hand-they see not, They see the zeal of the people, and are ashamed, Also, the fire-Thine adversaries, consumeth them.

Behold, the Lord has one who is mighty and strong. Like a storm of hail, a destroying storm, and like a storm of mighty waters overflowing, he will cast them down to the earth with his hand.

Behold, the Lord H136 hath a mighty H2389 and strong one, H533 [which] as a tempest H2230 of hail H1259 [and] a destroying H6986 storm, H8178 as a flood H2230 of mighty H3524 waters H4325 overflowing, H7857 (QalActPtc) shall cast down H3240 (HiphPerf) to the earth H776 with the hand. H3027

Lo, a mighty and strong one is to the Lord, As a storm of hail-a destructive shower, As an inundation of mighty waters overflowing, He cast down to the earth with the hand.

But when he sees his children, the work of my hands, in the middle of him, they will sanctify my name. Yes, they will sanctify the Holy One of Jacob, and will stand in awe of the God of Israel.

But when he seeth H7200 (QalInf) his children, H3206 the work H4639 of mine hands, H3027 in the midst H7130 of him, they shall sanctify H6942 (HiphImpf) my name, H8034 and sanctify H6942 (HiphPerf) the Holy One H6918 of Jacob, H3290 and shall fear H6206 (HiphImpf) the God H430 of Israel. H3478

For in his seeing his children, The work of My hand, in his midst, They sanctify My name, And have sanctified the Holy One of Jacob, And the God of Israel they declare fearful.

Now the Egyptians are men, and not God; and their horses flesh, and not spirit. When Yahweh stretches out his hand, both he who helps shall stumble, and he who is helped shall fall, and they all shall be consumed together.

Now the Egyptians H4714 [are] men, H120 and not God; H410 and their horses H5483 flesh, H1320 and not spirit. H7307 When the Lord H3068 shall stretch out H5186 (HiphImpf) his hand, H3027 both he that helpeth H5826 (QalActPtc) shall fall, H3782 (QalPerf) and he that is holpen H5826 (QalPasPtc) shall fall down, H5307 (QalPerf) and they all shall fail H3615 (QalImpf) together. And the Egyptians are men, and not God, And their horses are flesh, and not spirit, And Jehovah stretcheth out His hand, And stumbled hath the helper, And fallen hath the helped one, And together all of them are consumed.

For in that day everyone shall cast away his idols of silver and his idols of gold—sin which your own hands have made for you.

For in that day H3117 every man H376 shall cast away H3988 (QalImpf) his idols H457 of silver, H3701 and his idols H457 of gold, H2091 which your own hands H3027 have made H6213 (QalPerf) unto you [for] a sin. H2399

For in that day despise doth each His idols of silver, and his idols of gold, That your hands made to you-a sin.

But there Yahweh will be with us in majesty, a place of wide rivers and streams, in which no galley with oars will go, neither will any gallant ship pass by there.

But there the glorious H117 Lord H3068 [will be] unto us a place H4725 of broad H7342 H3027 rivers H5104 [and] streams; H2975 wherein shall go H3212 (QalImpf) no H1077 galley H590 with oars, H7885 neither shall gallant H117 ship H6716 pass H5674 (QalImpf) thereby.

But there mighty is Jehovah for us, A place of rivers-streams broad of sides, No ship with oars doth go into it, And a mighty ship doth not pass over it.

He has cast the lot for them, and his hand has divided it to them with a measuring line. They shall possess it forever. From generation to generation they will dwell in it.

And he hath cast H5307 (HiphPerf) the lot H1486 for them, and his hand H3027 hath divided H2505 (PielPerf) it unto them by line: H6957 they shall possess H3423 (QalImpf) it for H5704 ever, H5769 from generation H1755 to generation H1755 shall they dwell H7931 (QalImpf) therein.

And He hath cast for them a lot, And His hand hath apportioned it to them by line, Unto the age they possess it, To all generations they dwell in it!

Strengthen the weak hands, and make the feeble knees firm.

Strengthen H2388 (PielImpv) ye the weak H7504 hands, H3027 and confirm H553 (PielImpv) the feeble H3782 (QalActPtc) knees. H1290

Strengthen ye the feeble hands, Yea, the stumbling knees strengthen.

Don’t let Hezekiah make you trust in Yahweh, saying, “Yahweh will surely deliver us. This city won’t be given into the hand of the king of Assyria.” ’

Neither let Hezekiah H2396 make you trust H982 (HiphImpf) in the Lord, H3068 saying, H559 (QalInf) The Lord H3068 will surely H5337 (HiphInf) deliver H5337 (HiphImpf) us: this city H5892 shall not be delivered H5414 (NiphImpf) into the hand H3027 of the king H4428 of Assyria. H804

and let not Hezekiah make you trust unto Jehovah, saying, Jehovah doth certainly deliver us, this city is not given into the hand of the king of Asshur.

Beware lest Hezekiah persuade you, saying, “Yahweh will deliver us.” Have any of the gods of the nations delivered their lands from the hand of the king of Assyria?

[Beware] lest Hezekiah H2396 persuade H5496 (HiphImpf) you, saying, H559 (QalInf) The Lord H3068 will deliver H5337 (HiphImpf) us. Hath any H376 of the gods H430 of the nations H1471 delivered H5337 (HiphPerf) his land H776 out of the hand H3027 of the king H4428 of Assyria? H804

lest Hezekiah doth persuade you, saying, Jehovah doth deliver us. ‘Have the gods of the nations delivered each his land out of the hand of the king of Asshur?

Where are the gods of Hamath and Arpad? Where are the gods of Sepharvaim? Have they delivered Samaria from my hand?

Where [are] the gods H430 of Hamath H2574 and Arphad? H774 where [are] the gods H430 of Sepharvaim? H5617 and have they delivered H5337 (HiphPerf) Samaria H8111 out of my hand? H3027

Where are the gods of Hamath and Arpad? Where the gods of Sepharvaim, that they have delivered Samaria out of my hand?

Who are they among all the gods of these countries that have delivered their country out of my hand, that Yahweh should deliver Jerusalem out of my hand?’ ”

Who [are they] among all the gods H430 of these lands, H776 that have delivered H5337 (HiphPerf) their land H776 out of my hand, H3027 that the Lord H3068 should deliver H5337 (HiphImpf) Jerusalem H3389 out of my hand? H3027

Who among all the gods of these lands are they who have delivered their land out of my hand, that Jehovah doth deliver Jerusalem out of my hand?’

“Thus you shall speak to Hezekiah king of Judah, saying, ‘Don’t let your God in whom you trust deceive you, saying, “Jerusalem won’t be given into the hand of the king of Assyria.”

Thus shall ye speak H559 (QalImpf) to Hezekiah H2396 king H4428 of Judah, H3063 saying, H559 (QalInf) Let not thy God, H430 in whom thou trustest, H982 (QalActPtc) deceive H5377 (HiphImpf) thee, saying, H559 (QalInf) Jerusalem H3389 shall not be given H5414 (NiphImpf) into the hand H3027 of the king H4428 of Assyria. ‘Thus do ye speak unto Hezekiah king of Judah, saying, Let not thy God lift thee up in whom thou art trusting, saying, Jerusalem is not given into the hand of the king of Asshur.

Hezekiah received the letter from the hand of the messengers and read it. Then Hezekiah went up to Yahweh’s house, and spread it before Yahweh.

And Hezekiah H2396 received H3947 (QalImpf) the letter H5612 from the hand H3027 of the messengers, H4397 and read H7121 (QalImpf) it: and Hezekiah H2396 went up H5927 (QalImpf) unto the house H1004 of the Lord, H3068 and spread H6566 (QalImpf) it before H6440 the Lord. H3068

And Hezekiah taketh the letters out of the hand of the messengers, and readeth them, and Hezekiah goeth up to the house of Jehovah, and Hezekiah spreadeth it before Jehovah.

and have cast their gods into the fire; for they were no gods, but the work of men’s hands, wood and stone; therefore they have destroyed them.

And have cast H5414 (QalInf) their gods H430 into the fire: H784 for they [were] no gods, H430 but the work H4639 of men’s H120 hands, H3027 wood H6086 and stone: H68 therefore they have destroyed H6 (PielImpf) them.

so as to put their gods into fire-for they are no gods, but work of the hands of man, wood and stone-and they destroy them.

Now therefore, Yahweh our God, save us from his hand, that all the kingdoms of the earth may know that you are Yahweh, even you only.”

Now therefore, O Lord H3068 our God, H430 save H3467 (HiphImpv) us from his hand, H3027 that all the kingdoms H4467 of the earth H776 may know H3045 (QalImpf) that thou [art] the Lord, H3068 [even] thou only.

And now, Jehovah our God, save us from his hand, and all kingdoms of the earth do know that Thou art Jehovah, Thyself alone.’

By your servants, you have defied the Lord, and have said, “With the multitude of my chariots I have come up to the height of the mountains, to the innermost parts of Lebanon. I will cut down its tall cedars and its choice cypress trees. I will enter into its farthest height, the forest of its fruitful field.

By H3027 thy servants H5650 hast thou reproached H2778 (PielPerf) the Lord, H136 and hast said, H559 (QalImpf) By the multitude H7230 of my chariots H7393 am I come up H5927 (QalPerf) to the height H4791 of the mountains, H2022 to the sides H3411 of Lebanon; H3844 and I will cut down H3772 (QalImpf) the tall H6967 cedars H730 thereof, [and] the choice H4005 fir trees H1265 thereof: and I will enter H935 (QalImpf) into the height H4791 of his border, H7093 [and] the forest H3293 of his Carmel. By the hand of thy servants Thou hast reviled the Lord, and sayest: In the multitude of my chariots I have come up to a high place of hills, The sides of Lebanon, And I cut down the height of its cedars, The choice of its firs, And I enter the high place of its extremity, The forest of its Carmel.

Therefore their inhabitants had little power. They were dismayed and confounded. They were like the grass of the field, and like the green herb, like the grass on the housetops, and like a field before its crop has grown.

Therefore their inhabitants H3427 (QalActPtc) [were] of small H7116 power, H3027 they were dismayed H2865 (QalPerf) and confounded: H954 (QalPerf) they were [as] the grass H6212 of the field, H7704 and [as] the green H3419 herb, H1877 [as] the grass H2682 on the housetops, H1406 and [as corn] blasted H7709 before H6440 it be grown up. And their inhabitants are feeble-handed, They were broken down, and are dried up. They have been the herb of the field, And the greenness of the tender grass, Grass of the roofs, And blasted corn, before it hath risen up.

“Speak comfortably to Jerusalem, and call out to her that her warfare is accomplished, that her iniquity is pardoned, that she has received of Yahweh’s hand double for all her sins.”

that they may see, know, consider, and understand together, that Yahweh’s hand has done this, and the Holy One of Israel has created it.

So that they see, and know, And regard, and act wisely together, For the hand of Jehovah hath done this, And the Holy One of Israel hath prepared it.

“I, Yahweh, have called you in righteousness. I will hold your hand. I will keep you, and make you a covenant for the people, as a light for the nations,

I, Jehovah, did call thee in righteousness, And I lay hold on thy hand, and keep thee, And I give thee for a covenant of a people, And a light of nations.

Yes, since the day was, I am he. There is no one who can deliver out of my hand. I will work, and who can hinder it?”

Even from the day I am He, And there is no deliverer from My hand, I work, and who doth turn it back?

One will say, ‘I am Yahweh’s.’ Another will be called by the name of Jacob; and another will write with his hand ‘to Yahweh,’ and honor the name of Israel.”

This one saith, For Jehovah I am, And this calleth himself by the name of Jacob, And this one writeth with his hand, ‘For Jehovah,’ and by the name of Israel surnameth himself.

Woe to him who strives with his Maker— a clay pot among the clay pots of the earth! Shall the clay ask him who fashions it, ‘What are you making?’ or your work, ‘He has no hands’?

Woe to him who is striving with his Former, (A potsherd with potsherds of the ground!) Doth clay say to its Framer, ‘What dost thou?’ And thy work, ‘He hath no hands?’

Yahweh, the Holy One of Israel and his Maker says: “You ask me about the things that are to come, concerning my sons, and you command me concerning the work of my hands!

Thus said Jehovah, The Holy One of Israel, and his Former: Ask Me of the things coming concerning My sons, Yea, concerning the work of My hands, ye command Me.’

I have made the earth, and created man on it. I, even my hands, have stretched out the heavens. I have commanded all their army.

I was angry with my people. I profaned my inheritance and gave them into your hand. You showed them no mercy. You laid a very heavy yoke on the aged.
