And he putteth before the ark of Jehovah, of the Levites, ministers, even to make mention of, and to thank, and to give praise to Jehovah, God of Israel,

Tremble before him, all the earth. The world also is established that it can’t be moved.

Be pained before Him, all the earth:

Then the trees of the forest will sing for joy before Yahweh, for he comes to judge the earth.

Then shall the trees H6086 of the wood H3293 sing out H7442 (PielImpf) at the presence H6440 of the Lord, H3068 because he cometh H935 (QalPerf) to judge H8199 (QalInf) the earth. H776

Then sing do trees of the forest, From the presence of Jehovah, For He hath come to judge the earth!

for I have not lived in a house since the day that I brought up Israel to this day, but have gone from tent to tent, and from one tent to another.

For I have not dwelt in H3427 (QalPerf) an house H1004 since the day H3117 that I brought up H5927 (HiphPerf) Israel H3478 unto this day; H3117 but have gone from tent H168 to tent, H168 and from [one] tabernacle H4908 [to another].

for I have not dwelt in a house from the day that I brought up Israel till this day, and I am from tent unto tent: and from the tabernacle,

He said, “If the Syrians are too strong for me, then you are to help me; but if the children of Ammon are too strong for you, then I will help you.

And he said, H559 (QalImpf) If the Syrians H758 be too strong H2388 (QalImpf) for me, then thou shalt help H8668 me: but if the children H1121 of Ammon H5983 be too strong H2388 (QalImpf) for thee, then I will help H3467 (HiphPerf) thee.

And he saith, ‘If Aram be stronger than I, then thou hast been to me for salvation; and if the sons of Ammon be stronger than thou, then I have saved thee;

So Joab and the people who were with him came near to the front of the Syrians to the battle; and they fled before him.

So Joab H3097 and the people H5971 that [were] with him drew nigh H5066 (QalImpf) before H6440 the Syrians H758 unto the battle; H4421 and they fled H5127 (QalImpf) before H6440 him.

And Joab draweth nigh, and the people who are with him, before Aram to battle, and they flee from his face;

When the children of Ammon saw that the Syrians had fled, they likewise fled before Abishai his brother, and entered into the city. Then Joab came to Jerusalem.

And when the children H1121 of Ammon H5983 saw H7200 (QalPerf) that the Syrians H758 were fled, H5127 (QalPerf) they likewise fled H5127 (QalImpf) before H6440 Abishai H52 his brother, H251 and entered H935 (QalImpf) into the city. H5892 Then Joab H3097 came H935 (QalImpf) to Jerusalem. H3389

and the sons of Ammon have seen that Aram hath fled, and they flee-they also-from the face of Abishai his brother, and go in to the city. And Joab cometh in to Jerusalem.

When the Syrians saw that they were defeated by Israel, they sent messengers and called out the Syrians who were beyond the River,^§ with Shophach the captain of the army of Hadadezer leading them.

And when the Syrians H758 saw H7200 (QalImpf) that they were put to the worse H5062 (NiphPerf) before H6440 Israel, H3478 they sent H7971 (QalImpf) messengers, H4397 and drew forth H3318 (HiphImpf) the Syrians H758 that [were] beyond H5676 the river: H5104 and Shophach H7780 the captain H8269 of the host H6635 of Hadarezer H1928 [went] before H6440 them.

And Aram seeth that they have been smitten before Israel, and send messengers, and bring out Aram that is beyond the River, and Shophach head of the host of Hadarezer is before them.

The Syrians fled before Israel; and David killed of the Syrian men seven thousand charioteers and forty thousand footmen, and also killed Shophach the captain of the army.

and Aram fleeth from the face of Israel, and David slayeth of Aram seven thousand charioteers, and forty thousand footmen, and Shophach head of the host he hath put to death.

either three years of famine; or three months to be consumed before your foes, while the sword of your enemies overtakes you; or else three days of the sword of Yahweh, even pestilence in the land, and Yahweh’s angel destroying throughout all the borders of Israel. Now therefore consider what answer I shall return to him who sent me.’ ”

There were more chief men found of the sons of Eleazar than of the sons of Ithamar; and they were divided like this: of the sons of Eleazar there were sixteen, heads of fathers’ houses; and of the sons of Ithamar, according to their fathers’ houses, eight.

“The house which I am building will be great, for our God is greater than all gods.

‘And the house that I am building is great, for greater is our God than all gods;

The porch that was in front, its length, across the width of the house, was twenty cubits, and the height one hundred twenty; and he overlaid it within with pure gold.

As to the porch that is on the front, the length is by the front of the breadth of the house, twenty cubits, and the height a hundred and twenty, and he overlayeth it within with pure gold.

so that the priests could not stand to minister by reason of the cloud; for Yahweh’s glory filled God’s house.

So that the priests H3548 could H3201 (QalPerf) not stand H5975 (QalInf) to minister H8334 (PielInf) by reason H6440 of the cloud: H6051 for the glory H3519 of the Lord H3068 had filled H4390 (QalPerf) the house H1004 of God. H430

and the priests have not been able to stand to minister from the presence of the cloud, for the honour of Jehovah hath filled the house of God.

‘Since the day that I brought my people out of the land of Egypt, I chose no city out of all the tribes of Israel to build a house in, that my name might be there, and I chose no man to be prince over my people Israel;

‘From the day that I brought out My people from the land of Egypt, I have not fixed on a city out of any of the tribes of Israel to build a house for my name being there, and I have not fixed on a man to be leader over My people Israel;

King Solomon gave to the queen of Sheba all her desire, whatever she asked, more than that which she had brought to the king. So she turned and went to her own land, she and her servants.

in addition to that which the traders and merchants brought. All the kings of Arabia and the governors of the country brought gold and silver to Solomon.

apart from what the tourists, and the merchants, are bringing in; and all the kings of Arabia, and the governors of the land, are bringing in gold and silver to Solomon.

So King Solomon exceeded all the kings of the earth in riches and wisdom.

And king H4428 Solomon H8010 passed H1431 (QalImpf) all the kings H4428 of the earth H776 in riches H6239 and wisdom. H2451

And king Solomon becometh greater than any of the kings of the earth for riches and wisdom;

The young men who had grown up with him spoke to him, saying, “Thus you shall tell the people who spoke to you, saying, ‘Your father made our yoke heavy, but make it lighter on us;’ thus you shall say to them, ‘My little finger is thicker than my father’s waist.

Rehoboam loved Maacah the granddaughter of Absalom above all his wives and his concubines; for he took eighteen wives and sixty concubines, and became the father of twenty-eight sons and sixty daughters.

He dealt wisely, and dispersed some of his sons throughout all the lands of Judah and Benjamin, to every fortified city. He gave them food in abundance; and he sought many wives for them.

And Shemaiah the prophet hath come in unto Rehoboam and the heads of Judah who have been gathered unto Jerusalem from the presence of Shishak, and saith to them, ‘Thus said Jehovah, Ye have forsaken Me, and also, I have left you in the hand of Shishak;’

But Jeroboam caused an ambush to come about behind them; so they were before Judah, and the ambush was behind them.

But Jeroboam H3379 caused an ambushment H3993 to come H935 (QalInf) about H5437 (HiphPerf) behind H310 them: so they were before H6440 Judah, H3063 and the ambushment H3993 [was] behind H310 them.

And Jeroboam hath brought round the ambush to come in from behind them, and they are before Judah, and the ambush is behind them.

The children of Israel fled before Judah, and God delivered them into their hand.

And the children H1121 of Israel H3478 fled H5127 (QalImpf) before H6440 Judah: H3063 and God H430 delivered H5414 (QalImpf) them into their hand. H3027

And the sons of Israel flee from the face of Judah, and God giveth them into their hand,

and that whoever would not seek Yahweh, the God of Israel, should be put to death, whether small or great, whether man or woman.

That whosoever would not seek H1875 (QalImpf) the Lord H3068 God H430 of Israel H3478 should be put to death, H4191 (HophImpf) whether H4480 small H6996 or great, H1419 whether man H376 or woman. H802

and every one who doth not seek for Jehovah, God of Israel, is put to death, from small unto great, from man unto woman.

Then Asa was angry with the seer, and put him in the prison; for he was in a rage with him because of this thing. Asa oppressed some of the people at the same time.

Then Asa H609 was wroth H3707 (QalImpf) with the seer, H7200 (QalActPtc) and put H5414 (QalImpf) him in a prison H4115 house; H1004 for [he was] in a rage H2197 with him because of this [thing]. And Asa H609 oppressed H7533 (PielImpf) [some] of the people H5971 the same time. H6256

And Asa is angry at the seer, and giveth him to the house of torture, for he is in a rage with him for this; and Asa oppresseth some of the people at that time.

Some of the Philistines brought Jehoshaphat presents and silver for tribute. The Arabians also brought him flocks: seven thousand seven hundred rams and seven thousand seven hundred male goats.

and of the Philistines they are bringing in to Jehoshaphat a present, and tribute silver; also, the Arabians are bringing to him a flock, rams seven thousand an seven hundred, and he-goats seven thousand and seven hundred.

Moreover in Jerusalem Jehoshaphat appointed certain Levites, priests, and heads of the fathers’ households of Israel to give judgment for Yahweh and for controversies. They returned to Jerusalem.

Moreover in Jerusalem H3389 did Jehoshaphat H3092 set H5975 (HiphPerf) of the Levites, H3881 and [of] the priests, H3548 and of the chief H7218 of the fathers H1 of Israel, H3478 for the judgment H4941 of the Lord, H3068 and for controversies, H7379 when they returned H7725 (QalImpf) to Jerusalem. And also in Jerusalem hath Jehoshaphat appointed of the Levites, and of the priests, and of the heads of the fathers of Israel, for the judgment of Jehovah, and for strife; and they turn back to Jerusalem,

After this, the children of Moab, the children of Ammon, and with them some of the Ammonites, came against Jehoshaphat to battle.

Didn’t you, our God, drive out the inhabitants of this land before your people Israel, and give it to the offspring^§ of Abraham your friend forever?

‘Art not Thou our God? Thou hast dispossessed the inhabitants of this land from before Thy people Israel, and dost give it to the seed of Abraham Thy friend to the age,

and he said, “Listen, all Judah, and you inhabitants of Jerusalem, and you, King Jehoshaphat. Yahweh says to you, ‘Don’t be afraid, and don’t be dismayed because of this great multitude; for the battle is not yours, but God’s.

and he saith, ‘Attend, all Judah, and ye inhabitants of Jerusalem, and O king Jehoshaphat, Thus said Jehovah to you, Ye fear not, nor are afraid of the face of this great multitude, for not for you is the battle, but for God.

When Jehoshaphat and his people came to take their plunder, they found among them in abundance both riches and dead bodies with precious jewels, which they stripped off for themselves, more than they could carry away. They took plunder for three days, it was so much.

And when Jehoshaphat H3092 and his people H5971 came H935 (QalImpf) to take away H962 (QalInf) the spoil H7998 of them, they found H4672 (QalImpf) among them in abundance H7230 both riches H7399 with the dead bodies, H6297 and precious H2532 jewels, H3627 which they stripped off H5337 (PielImpf) for themselves, more than H369 they could carry away: H4853 and they were three H7969 days H3117 in gathering H962 (QalActPtc) of the spoil, H7998 it was so much. and Jehoshaphat cometh in, and his people, to seize their spoil, and they find among them, in abundance, both goods and carcases, and desirable vessels, and they take spoil to themselves without prohibition, and they are three days seizing the spoil, for it is abundant.

Then they returned, every man of Judah and Jerusalem, with Jehoshaphat in front of them, to go again to Jerusalem with joy; for Yahweh had made them to rejoice over their enemies.

And they turn back, every man of Judah and Jerusalem, and Jehoshaphat at their head, to go back unto Jerusalem with joy, for Jehovah hath made them rejoice over their enemies.

Now when Jehoram had risen up over the kingdom of his father, and had strengthened himself, he killed all his brothers with the sword, and also some of the princes of Israel.

And Jehoram riseth up over the kingdom of his father, and strengtheneth himself, and slayeth all his brethren with the sword, and also-of the heads of Israel.

In his days Edom revolted from under the hand of Judah, and made a king over themselves.

In his days H3117 the Edomites H123 revolted H6586 (QalPerf) from under the dominion H3027 of Judah, H3063 and made H4427 (HiphImpf) themselves a king. H4428

In his days hath Edom revolted from under the hand of Judah, and cause a king to reign over them;

So Edom has been in revolt from under the hand of Judah to this day. Then Libnah revolted at the same time from under his hand, because he had forsaken Yahweh, the God of his fathers.

So the Edomites H123 revolted H6586 (QalImpf) from under the hand H3027 of Judah H3063 unto this day. H3117 The same time H6256 [also] did Libnah H3841 revolt H6586 (QalImpf) from under his hand; H3027 because he had forsaken H5800 (QalPerf) the Lord H3068 God H430 of his fathers. H1

and Edom revolteth from under the hand of Judah unto this day; then doth Libnah revolt at that time from under his hand, because he hath forsaken Jehovah, God of his fathers,

but have walked in the way of the kings of Israel, and have made Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem to play the prostitute like Ahab’s house did, and also have slain your brothers of your father’s house, who were better than yourself,

But hast walked H3212 (QalImpf) in the way H1870 of the kings H4428 of Israel, H3478 and hast made Judah H3063 and the inhabitants H3427 (QalActPtc) of Jerusalem H3389 to go a whoring, H2181 (HiphImpf) like to the whoredoms H2181 (HiphInf) of the house H1004 of Ahab, H256 and also hast slain H2026 (QalPerf) thy brethren H251 of thy father’s H1 house, H1004 [which were] better H2896 than thyself:

and thou dost walk in the way of the kings of Israel, and dost cause Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem to commit whoredom like the whoredoms of the house of Ahab, and also thy brethren, the house of thy father, who are better than thyself, thou hast slain;

and you will have great sickness with a disease of your bowels, until your bowels fall out by reason of the sickness, day by day.’ ”

And thou [shalt have] great H7227 sickness H2483 by disease H4245 of thy bowels, H4578 until thy bowels H4578 fall out H3318 (QalImpf) by reason of the sickness H2483 day H3117 by day. H3117

and thou, with many sicknesses, with disease of thy bowels, till thy bowels come out, by the sickness, day by day.’

In process of time, at the end of two years, his bowels fell out by reason of his sickness, and he died of severe diseases. His people made no burning for him, like the burning of his fathers.

And it came to pass, that in process of time, H3117 after H3318 (QalInf) H6256 the end H7093 of two H8147 years, H3117 his bowels H4578 fell out H3318 (QalPerf) by reason H5973 of his sickness: H2483 so he died H4191 (QalImpf) of sore H7451 diseases. and it cometh to pass, from days to days, and at the time of the going out of the end of two years, his bowels have gone out with his sickness, and he dieth of sore diseases, and his people have not made for him a burning like the burning of his fathers.

Jehoiada the priest brought out the captains of hundreds who were set over the army, and said to them, “Bring her out between the ranks; and whoever follows her, let him be slain with the sword.” For the priest said, “Don’t kill her in Yahweh’s house.”

Then Jehoiada H3077 the priest H3548 brought out H3318 (HiphImpf) the captains H8269 of hundreds H3967 that were set over H6485 (QalPasPtc) the host, H2428 and said H559 (QalImpf) unto them, Have her forth H3318 (HiphImpv) of the ranges: H1004 H7713 and whoso followeth H935 (QalActPtc) H310 her, let him be slain H4191 (HophImpf) with the sword. H2719 For the priest H3548 said, H559 (QalPerf) Slay H4191 (HiphImpf) her not in the house H1004 of the Lord. H3068

And Jehoiada the priest bringeth out the heads of the hundreds, inspectors of the force, and saith unto them, ‘Take her out from within the rows, and he who hath gone after her is put to death by the sword;’ for the priest said, ‘Put her not to death in the house of Jehovah.’

The Spirit of God came on Zechariah the son of Jehoiada the priest; and he stood above the people, and said to them, “God says, ‘Why do you disobey Yahweh’s commandments, so that you can’t prosper? Because you have forsaken Yahweh, he has also forsaken you.’ ”

And the Spirit H7307 of God H430 came H3847 (QalPerf) upon Zechariah H2148 the son H1121 of Jehoiada H3077 the priest, H3548 which stood H5975 (QalImpf) above the people, H5971 and said H559 (QalImpf) unto them, Thus saith H559 (QalPerf) God, H430 Why transgress H5674 (QalActPtc) ye the commandments H4687 of the Lord, H3068 that ye cannot prosper? H6743 (HiphImpf) because ye have forsaken H5800 (QalPerf) the Lord, H3068 he hath also forsaken H5800 (QalImpf) you.

and the Spirit of God hath clothed Zechariah son of Jehoiada the priest, and he standeth over-against the people, and saith to them, ‘Thus said God, Why are ye transgressing the commands of Jehovah, and prosper not? because ye have forsaken Jehovah-He doth forsake you.’

Amaziah said to the man of God, “But what shall we do for the hundred talents° which I have given to the army of Israel?” The man of God answered, “Yahweh is able to give you much more than this.”

And Amaziah saith to the man of God, ‘And what-to do for the hundred talents that I have given to the troop of Israel?’ And the man of God saith, ‘Jehovah hath more to give to thee than this.’

Then Uzziah was angry. He had a censer in his hand to burn incense, and while he was angry with the priests, the leprosy broke out on his forehead before the priests in Yahweh’s house, beside the altar of incense.

Then Uzziah H5818 was wroth, H2196 (QalImpf) and [had] a censer H4730 in his hand H3027 to burn incense: H6999 (HiphInf) and while he was wroth H2196 (QalInf) with the priests, H3548 the leprosy H6883 even rose up H2224 (QalPerf) in his forehead H4696 before H6440 the priests H3548 in the house H1004 of the Lord, H3068 from beside the incense H7004 altar. And Uzziah is wroth, and in his hand is a censer to make perfume, and in his being wroth with the priests-the leprosy hath risen in his forehead, before the priests, in the house of Jehovah, from beside the altar of perfume.

Moreover he burned incense in the valley of the son of Hinnom, and burned his children in the fire, according to the abominations of the nations whom Yahweh cast out before the children of Israel.

Moreover he burnt incense H6999 (HiphPerf) in the valley H1516 of the son H1121 of Hinnom, H2011 and burnt H1197 (HiphImpf) his children H1121 in the fire, H784 after the abominations H8441 of the heathen H1471 whom the Lord H3068 had cast out H3423 (HiphPerf) before H6440 the children H1121 of Israel. and himself hath made perfume in the valley of the son of Hinnom, and burneth his sons with fire according to the abominations of the nations that Jehovah dispossessed from the presence of the sons of Israel,

But the priests were too few, so that they could not skin all the burnt offerings. Therefore their brothers the Levites helped them until the work was ended, and until the priests had sanctified themselves, for the Levites were more upright in heart to sanctify themselves than the priests.

But the priests H3548 were too few, H4592 so that they could H3201 (QalPerf) not flay H6584 (HiphInf) all the burnt offerings: H5930 wherefore their brethren H251 the Levites H3881 did help H2388 (PielImpf) them, till the work H4399 was ended, H3615 (QalInf) and until the [other] priests H3548 had sanctified H6942 (HithImpf) themselves: for the Levites H3881 [were] more upright H3477 in heart H3824 to sanctify H6942 (HithInf) themselves than the priests. H3548

Only, the priests have become few, and have not been able to strip the whole of the burnt-offerings, and their brethren the Levites strengthen them till the completion of the work, and till the priests sanctify themselves, for the Levites are more upright of heart to sanctify themselves than the priests.

Nevertheless some men of Asher, Manasseh, and Zebulun humbled themselves and came to Jerusalem.

Nevertheless divers H582 of Asher H836 and Manasseh H4519 and of Zebulun H2074 humbled H3665 (NiphPerf) themselves, and came H935 (QalImpf) to Jerusalem. H3389

only, certain from Asher, and Manasseh, and from Zebulun, have been humbled, and come in to Jerusalem.

Now when all this was finished, all Israel who were present went out to the cities of Judah and broke the pillars in pieces, cut down the Asherah poles, and broke down the high places and the altars out of all Judah and Benjamin, also in Ephraim and Manasseh, until they had destroyed them all. Then all the children of Israel returned, every man to his possession, into their own cities.

Now when all this was finished, H3615 (PielInf) all Israel H3478 that were present H4672 (NiphPtc) went out H3318 (QalPerf) to the cities H5892 of Judah, H3063 and brake H7665 the images H4676 in pieces, H7665 (PielImpf) and cut down H1438 (PielImpf) the groves, H842 and threw down H5422 (PielImpf) the high places H1116 and the altars H4196 out of all Judah H3063 and Benjamin, H1144 in Ephraim H669 also and Manasseh, H4519 until they had utterly destroyed H3615 (PielInf) them all. Then all the children H1121 of Israel H3478 returned, H7725 (QalImpf) every man H376 to his possession, H272 into their own cities. H5892

And at the completion of all this, gone out have all Israel who are found present to the cities of Judah, and break the standing-pillars, and cut down the shrines, and break down the high places and the altars, out of all Judah and Benjamin, and in Ephraim and Manasseh, even to completion, and all the sons of Israel turn back, each to his Possession, to their cities.

Azariah the chief priest, of the house of Zadok, answered him and said, “Since people began to bring the offerings into Yahweh’s house, we have eaten and had enough, and have plenty left over, for Yahweh has blessed his people; and that which is left is this great store.”

And Azariah H5838 the chief H7218 priest H3548 of the house H1004 of Zadok H6659 answered H559 (QalImpf) him, and said, H559 (QalImpf) Since [the people] began H2490 (HiphInf) to bring H935 (HiphInf) the offerings H8641 into the house H1004 of the Lord, H3068 we have had enough H7646 (QalInf) to eat, H398 (QalInf) and have left H3498 (HiphInf) plenty: H7230 for the Lord H3068 hath blessed H1288 (PielPerf) his people; H5971 and that which is left H3498 (NiphPtc) [is] this great store. and Azariah the head priest, of the house of Zadok, speaketh unto him, and saith, ‘From the beginning of the bringing of the heave-offering to the house of Jehovah, there is to eat, and to be satisfied, and to leave abundantly, for Jehovah hath blessed His people, and that left is this store.’

Jehiel, Azaziah, Nahath, Asahel, Jerimoth, Jozabad, Eliel, Ismachiah, Mahath, and Benaiah were overseers under the hand of Conaniah and Shimei his brother, by the appointment of Hezekiah the king and Azariah the ruler of God’s house.

And Jehiel, H3171 and Azaziah, H5812 and Nahath, H5184 and Asahel, H6214 and Jerimoth, H3406 and Jozabad, H3107 and Eliel, H447 and Ismachiah, H3253 and Mahath, H4287 and Benaiah, H1141 [were] overseers H6496 under the hand H3027 of Cononiah H3562 and Shimei H8096 his brother, H251 at the commandment H4662 of Hezekiah H3169 the king, H4428 and Azariah H5838 the ruler H5057 of the house H1004 of God. H430

and Jehiel, and Azaziah, and Nahath, and Asahel, and Jerimoth, and Jozabad, and Eliel, and Ismachiah, and Mahath, and Benaiah, are inspectors under the hand of Conaniah and Shimei his brother, by the appointment of Hezekiah the king, and Azariah leader of the house of God.
