David rose up early in the morning and left the sheep with a keeper, and took the provisions and went, as Jesse had commanded him. He came to the place of the wagons as the army which was going out to the fight shouted for the battle.

And David riseth early in the morning, and leaveth the flock to a keeper, and lifteth up, and goeth, as Jesse commanded him, and he cometh in to the path, and to the force which is going out unto the rank, and they have shouted for battle;

I went out after him, struck him, and rescued it out of his mouth. When he arose against me, I caught him by his beard, struck him, and killed him.

and I have gone out after him, and smitten him, and delivered out of his mouth, and he riseth against me, and I have taken hold on his beard, and smitten him, and put him to death.

When Saul saw David go out against the Philistine, he said to Abner, the captain of the army, “Abner, whose son is this youth?” Abner said, “As your soul lives, O king, I can’t tell.”

And when Saul seeth David going out to meet the Philistine, he hath said unto Abner, head of the host, ‘Whose son is this-the youth, Abner?’ and Abner saith, ‘Thy soul liveth, O king, I have not known.’

David went out wherever Saul sent him, and behaved himself wisely; and Saul set him over the men of war. It was good in the sight of all the people, and also in the sight of Saul’s servants.

And David goeth out whithersoever Saul doth send him; he acted wisely, and Saul setteth him over the men of war, and it is good in the eyes of all the people, and also in the eyes of the servants of Saul.

As they came, when David returned from the slaughter of the Philistine, the women came out of all the cities of Israel, singing and dancing, to meet King Saul with tambourines, with joy, and with instruments of music.

And it cometh to pass, in their coming in, in David’s returning from smiting the Philistine, that the women come out from all the cities of Israel to sing-also the dancers-to meet Saul the king, with tabrets, with joy, and with three-stringed instruments;

Therefore Saul removed him from his presence, and made him his captain over a thousand; and he went out and came in before the people.

But all Israel and Judah loved David; for he went out and came in before them.

and all Israel and Judah love David when he is going out and coming in before them.

Then the princes of the Philistines went out; and as often as they went out, David behaved himself more wisely than all the servants of Saul, so that his name was highly esteemed.

And the princes of the Philistines come out, and it cometh to pass from the time of their coming out, David hath acted more wisely than any of the servants of Saul, and his name is very precious.

I will go out and stand beside my father in the field where you are, and I will talk with my father about you; and if I see anything, I will tell you.”

and I-I go out, and have stood by the side of my father in the field where thou art, and I speak of thee unto my father, and have seen what is coming, and have declared to thee.’

There was war again. David went out and fought with the Philistines, and killed them with a great slaughter; and they fled before him.

And there was war H4421 again: H3254 (HiphImpf) and David H1732 went out, H3318 (QalImpf) and fought H3898 (NiphImpf) with the Philistines, H6430 and slew H5221 (HiphImpf) them with a great H1419 slaughter; H4347 and they fled H5127 (QalImpf) from H6440 him.

And there addeth to be war, and David goeth out and fighteth against the Philistines, and smiteth among them-a great smiting, and they flee from his face.

Jonathan said to David, “Come! Let’s go out into the field.” They both went out into the field.

David answered the priest, and said to him, “Truly, women have been kept from us as usual these three days. When I came out, the vessels of the young men were holy, though it was only a common journey. How much more then today shall their vessels be holy?”

And David answereth the priest, and saith to him, ‘Surely, if women have been restrained from us as heretofore in my going out, then the vessels of the young men are holy, and it is a common way: and also, surely to-day it is sanctified in the vessel.’

David went from there to Mizpeh of Moab; and he said to the king of Moab, “Please let my father and my mother come out to you, until I know what God will do for me.”

And David goeth thence to Mizpeh of Moab, and saith unto the king of Moab, ‘Let, I pray thee, my father and my mother go out with you, till that I know what God doth for me;’

Then David and his men, who were about six hundred, arose and departed out of Keilah and went wherever they could go. Saul was told that David had escaped from Keilah; and he gave up going there.

Then David H1732 and his men, H582 [which were] about six H8337 hundred, H3967 H376 arose H6965 (QalImpf) and departed H3318 (QalImpf) out of Keilah, H7084 and went H1980 (HithImpf) whithersoever H834 they could go. H1980 (HithImpf) And it was told H5046 (HophPerf) Saul H7586 that David H1732 was escaped H4422 (NiphPerf) from Keilah; H7084 and he forbare H2308 (QalImpf) to go forth. H3318 (QalInf)

And David riseth-and his men-about six hundred men, and they go out from Keilah, and go up and down where they go up and down; and to Saul it hath been declared that David hath escaped from Keilah, and he ceaseth to go out.

David saw that Saul had come out to seek his life. David was in the wilderness of Ziph in the woods.

And David seeth that Saul hath come out to seek his life, and David is in the wilderness of Ziph, in a forest.

David also arose afterward, and went out of the cave and cried after Saul, saying, “My lord the king!” When Saul looked behind him, David bowed with his face to the earth, and showed respect.

and David riseth afterwards, and goeth out from the cave, and calleth after Saul, saying, ‘My lord, O king!’ And Saul looketh attentively behind him, and David boweth-face to the earth-and doth obeisance.

As the proverb of the ancients says, ‘Out of the wicked comes wickedness;’ but my hand will not be on you.

As saith H559 (QalImpf) the proverb H4912 of the ancients, H6931 Wickedness H7562 proceedeth H3318 (QalImpf) from the wicked: H7563 but mine hand H3027 shall not be upon thee.

as saith the simile of the ancients, From the wicked goeth out wickedness, and my hand is not on thee.

Against whom has the king of Israel come out? Whom do you pursue? A dead dog? A flea?

‘After whom hath the king of Israel come out? after whom art thou pursuing?-after a dead dog! after one flea!

In the morning, when the wine had gone out of Nabal, his wife told him these things; and his heart died within him, and he became as a stone.

Now therefore, don’t let my blood fall to the earth away from the presence of Yahweh; for the king of Israel has come out to seek a flea, as when one hunts a partridge in the mountains.”

‘And now, let not my blood fall to the earth over-against the face of Jehovah, for the king of Israel hath come out to seek one flea, as one pursueth the partridge in mountains.’

In those days, the Philistines gathered their armies together for warfare, to fight with Israel. Achish said to David, “Know assuredly that you will go out with me in the army, you and your men.”

And it came to pass in those days, H3117 that the Philistines H6430 gathered H6908 their armies H4264 together H6908 (QalImpf) for warfare, H6635 to fight H3898 (NiphInf) with Israel. H3478 And Achish H397 said H559 (QalImpf) unto David, H1732 Know H3045 (QalImpf) thou assuredly, H3045 (QalInf) that thou shalt go out H3318 (QalImpf) with me to battle, H4264 thou and thy men. H582

And it cometh to pass in those days, that the Philistines gather their camps for the war, to fight against Israel, and Achish saith unto David, ‘Thou dost certainly know that with me thou dost go out into the camp, thou and thy men.’

Then Achish called David and said to him, “As Yahweh lives, you have been upright, and your going out and your coming in with me in the army is good in my sight; for I have not found evil in you since the day of your coming to me to this day. Nevertheless, the lords don’t favor you.

Then Achish H397 called H7121 (QalImpf) David, H1732 and said H559 (QalImpf) unto him, Surely, [as] the Lord H3068 liveth, H2416 thou hast been upright, H3477 and thy going out H3318 (QalInf) and thy coming in H935 (QalInf) with me in the host H4264 [is] good H2896 in my sight: H5869 for I have not found H4672 (QalPerf) evil H7451 in thee since the day H3117 of thy coming H935 (QalInf) unto me unto this day: H3117 nevertheless the lords H5633 favour H2896 thee not. And Achish calleth unto David, and saith unto him, ‘Jehovah liveth, surely thou art upright, and good in mine eyes is thy going out, and thy coming in, with me in the camp, for I have not found in thee evil from the day of thy coming in unto me till this day; and in the eyes of the princes thou art not good;

David came to the two hundred men, who were so faint that they could not follow David, whom also they had made to stay at the brook Besor; and they went out to meet David, and to meet the people who were with him. When David came near to the people, he greeted them.

And David cometh in unto the two hundred men who were too faint to go after David, and whom they cause to abide at the brook of Besor, and they go out to meet David, and to meet the people who are with him, and David approacheth the people, and asketh of them of welfare.

Abner the son of Ner, and the servants of Ishbosheth the son of Saul, went out from Mahanaim to Gibeon.

Joab the son of Zeruiah and David’s servants went out, and met them by the pool of Gibeon; and they sat down, the one on the one side of the pool and the other on the other side of the pool.

And Joab son of Zeruiah, and servants of David, have gone out, and they meet by the pool of Gibeon together, and sit down, these by the pool on this side, and these by the pool on that.

However, he refused to turn away. Therefore Abner with the back end of the spear struck him in the body, so that the spear came out behind him; and he fell down there and died in the same place. As many as came to the place where Asahel fell down and died stood still.

And he refuseth to turn aside, and Abner smiteth him with the hinder part of the spear unto the fifth rib, and the spear cometh out from behind him, and he falleth there, and dieth under it; and it cometh to pass, every one who hath come unto the place where Asahel hath fallen and dieth-they stand still.

When Joab had come out from David, he sent messengers after Abner, and they brought him back from the well of Sirah; but David didn’t know it.

And when Joab H3097 was come out H3318 (QalImpf) from David, H1732 he sent H7971 (QalImpf) messengers H4397 after H310 Abner, H74 which brought him again H7725 (HiphImpf) from the well H953 of Sirah: H5626 but David H1732 knew H3045 (QalPerf) [it] not.

And Joab goeth out from David, and sendeth messengers after Abner, and they bring him back from the well of Sirah, and David knew not.

In times past, when Saul was king over us, it was you who led Israel out and in. Yahweh said to you, ‘You will be shepherd of my people Israel, and you will be prince over Israel.’ ”

also heretofore, in Saul’s being king over us, thou hast been he who is bringing out and bringing in Israel, and Jehovah saith to thee, Thou dost feed My people Israel, and thou art for leader over Israel.’

When you hear the sound of marching in the tops of the mulberry trees, then stir yourself up; for then Yahweh has gone out before you to strike the army of the Philistines.”

And let it be, when thou hearest H8085 (QalInf) the sound H6963 of a going H6807 in the tops H7218 of the mulberry trees, H1057 that then thou shalt bestir H2782 (QalImpf) thyself: for then shall the Lord H3068 go out H3318 (QalPerf) before H6440 thee, to smite H5221 (HiphInf) the host H4264 of the Philistines. and it cometh to pass, in thy hearing the sound of a stepping in the tops of the mulberries, then thou dost move sharply, for then hath Jehovah gone out before thee to smite in the camp of the Philistines.’

Then David returned to bless his household. Michal the daughter of Saul came out to meet David, and said, “How glorious the king of Israel was today, who uncovered himself today in the eyes of his servants’ maids, as one of the vain fellows shamelessly uncovers himself!”

Then David H1732 returned H7725 (QalImpf) to bless H1288 (PielInf) his household. H1004 And Michal H4324 the daughter H1323 of Saul H7586 came out H3318 (QalImpf) to meet H7125 (QalInf) David, H1732 and said, H559 (QalImpf) How glorious H3513 (NiphPerf) was the king H4428 of Israel H3478 to day, H3117 who uncovered H1540 (NiphPerf) himself to day H3117 in the eyes H5869 of the handmaids H519 of his servants, H5650 as one H259 of the vain fellows H7386 shamelessly H1540 (NiphInf) uncovereth H1540 (NiphInf) himself!

And David turneth back to bless his house, and Michal daughter of Saul goeth out to meet David, and saith, ‘How honourable to-day was the king of Israel, who was uncovered to-day before the eyes of the handmaids of his servants, as one of the vain ones is openly uncovered!’

When your days are fulfilled and you sleep with your fathers, I will set up your offspring after you, who will proceed out of your body, and I will establish his kingdom.

And when thy days H3117 be fulfilled, H4390 (QalImpf) and thou shalt sleep H7901 (QalPerf) with thy fathers, H1 I will set up H6965 (HiphPerf) thy seed H2233 after H310 thee, which shall proceed H3318 (QalImpf) out of thy bowels, H4578 and I will establish H3559 (HiphPerf) his kingdom. H4467

‘When thy days are full, and thou hast lain with thy fathers, then I have raised up thy seed after thee which goeth out from thy bowels, and have established his kingdom;

The children of Ammon came out, and put the battle in array at the entrance of the gate. The Syrians of Zobah and of Rehob and the men of Tob and Maacah were by themselves in the field.

And the Bene-Ammon come out, and set battle in array, at the opening of the gate, and Aram of Zoba, and Rehob, and Ish-Tob, and Maacah, are by themselves in the field;

Hadadezer sent and brought out the Syrians who were beyond the River; and they came to Helam, with Shobach the captain of the army of Hadadezer at their head.

And Hadarezer H1928 sent, H7971 (QalImpf) and brought out H3318 (HiphImpf) the Syrians H758 that [were] beyond H5676 the river: H5104 and they came H935 (QalImpf) to Helam; H2431 and Shobach H7731 the captain H8269 of the host H6635 of Hadarezer H1928 [went] before H6440 them.

and Hadadezer sendeth, and bringeth out Aram which is beyond the River, and they come in to Helam, and Shobach head of the host of Hadadezer is before them.

At the return of the year, at the time when kings go out, David sent Joab and his servants with him, and all Israel; and they destroyed the children of Ammon and besieged Rabbah. But David stayed at Jerusalem.

And it came to pass, after the year H8141 was expired, H8666 at the time H6256 when kings H4428 (Qere) H4397 go forth H3318 (QalInf) [to battle], that David H1732 sent H7971 (QalImpf) Joab, H3097 and his servants H5650 with him, and all Israel; H3478 and they destroyed H7843 (HiphImpf) the children H1121 of Ammon, H5983 and besieged H6696 (QalImpf) Rabbah. And it cometh to pass, at the revolution of the year-at the time of the going out of the messengers-that David sendeth Joab, and his servants with him, and all Israel, and they destroy the Bene-Ammon, and lay siege against Rabbah. And David is dwelling in Jerusalem,

David said to Uriah, “Go down to your house and wash your feet.” Uriah departed out of the king’s house, and a gift from the king was sent after him.

And David saith to Uriah, ‘Go down to thy house, and wash thy feet;’ and Uriah goeth out of the king’s house, and there goeth out after him a gift from the king,

When David had called him, he ate and drank before him; and he made him drunk. At evening, he went out to lie on his bed with the servants of his lord, but didn’t go down to his house.

and David calleth for him, and he eateth before him, and drinketh, and he causeth him to drink, and he goeth out in the evening to lie on his couch with the servants of his lord, and unto his house he hath not gone down.

The men of the city went out and fought with Joab. Some of the people fell, even of David’s servants; and Uriah the Hittite died also.

and the men of the city go out and fight with Joab, and there fall some of the people, of the servants of David; and there dieth also Uriah the Hittite.

The messenger said to David, “The men prevailed against us, and came out to us into the field; and we were on them even to the entrance of the gate.

And the messenger H4397 said H559 (QalImpf) unto David, H1732 Surely the men H582 prevailed H1396 (QalPerf) against us, and came out H3318 (QalImpf) unto us into the field, H7704 and we were upon them even unto the entering H6607 of the gate. H8179

and the messenger saith unto David, ‘Surely the men have been mighty against us, and come out unto us into the field, and we are upon them unto the opening of the gate,

He took the crown of their king from off his head; and its weight was a talent° of gold, and in it were precious stones; and it was set on David’s head. He brought a great quantity of plunder out of the city.

He brought out the people who were in it, and put them to work under saws, under iron picks, under axes of iron, and made them go to the brick kiln; and he did so to all the cities of the children of Ammon. Then David and all the people returned to Jerusalem.

and the people who are in it he hath brought out, and setteth to the saw, and to cutting instruments of iron, and to axes of iron, and hath caused them to pass over into the brick-kiln; and so he doth to all the cities of the Bene-Ammon; and David turneth back, and all the people, to Jerusalem.

She took the pan and poured them out before him, but he refused to eat. Amnon said, “Have all men leave me.” Then every man went out from him.

She had a garment of various colors on her, for the king’s daughters who were virgins dressed in such robes. Then his servant brought her out and bolted the door after her.

And [she had] a garment H3801 of divers colours H6446 upon her: for with such robes H4598 were the king’s H4428 daughters H1323 [that were] virgins H1330 apparelled. -and upon her is a long coat, for such upper robes do daughters of the king who are virgins put on,-and his servant taketh her out without, and hath bolted the door after her.

King David longed to go out to Absalom, for he was comforted concerning Amnon, since he was dead.

And [the soul of] king H4428 David H1732 longed H3615 (PielImpf) to go forth H3318 (QalInf) unto Absalom: H53 for he was comforted H5162 (NiphPerf) concerning Amnon, H550 seeing he was dead. H4191 (QalPerf)

and the soul of king David determineth to go out unto Absalom, for he hath been comforted for Amnon, for he is dead.

The king went out, and all his household after him. The king left ten women, who were concubines, to keep the house.

And the king H4428 went forth, H3318 (QalImpf) and all his household H1004 after H7272 him. And the king H4428 left H5800 (QalImpf) ten H6235 women, H802 [which were] concubines, H6370 to keep H8104 (QalInf) the house. H1004

And the king goeth out, and all his household at his feet, and the king leaveth ten women-concubines-to keep the house.

The king went out, and all the people after him; and they stayed in Beth Merhak.

And the king H4428 went forth, H3318 (QalImpf) and all the people H5971 after H7272 him, and tarried H5975 (QalImpf) in a place H1004 that was far off. H4801 (QK) H1023

And the king goeth out, and all the people at his feet, and they stand still at the farthest off house.

When King David came to Bahurim, behold, a man of the family of Saul’s house came out, whose name was Shimei, the son of Gera. He came out and cursed as he came.

And when king H4428 David H1732 came H935 (QalPerf) to Bahurim, H980 behold, thence came out H3318 (QalActPtc) a man H376 of the family H4940 of the house H1004 of Saul, H7586 whose name H8034 [was] Shimei, H8096 the son H1121 of Gera: H1617 he came forth, H3318 (QalActPtc) and cursed H7043 (PielPtc) still as he came. And king David hath come in unto Bahurim, and lo, thence a man is coming out, of the family of the house of Saul, and his name is Shimei, son of Gera, he cometh out, coming out and reviling;

Shimei said when he cursed, “Be gone, be gone, you man of blood, and wicked fellow!

And thus said Shimei in his reviling, ‘Go out, go out, O man of blood, and man of worthlessness!

David said to Abishai and to all his servants, “Behold, my son, who came out of my bowels, seeks my life. How much more this Benjamite, now? Leave him alone, and let him curse; for Yahweh has invited him.

And David saith unto Abishai, and unto all his servants, ‘Lo, my son who came out of my bowels is seeking my life, and also surely now the Benjamite; leave him alone, and let him revile, for Jehovah hath said so to him;

David sent the people out, a third part under the hand of Joab, and a third part under the hand of Abishai the son of Zeruiah, Joab’s brother, and a third part under the hand of Ittai the Gittite. The king said to the people, “I will also surely go out with you myself.”

And David H1732 sent forth H7971 (PielImpf) a third part H7992 of the people H5971 under the hand H3027 of Joab, H3097 and a third part H7992 under the hand H3027 of Abishai H52 the son H1121 of Zeruiah, H6870 Joab’s H3097 brother, H251 and a third part H7992 under the hand H3027 of Ittai H863 the Gittite. and David sendeth the third of the people by the hand of Joab, and the third by the hand of Abishai, son of Zeruiah, brother of Joab, and the third by the hand of Ittai the Gittite, and the king saith unto the people, ‘I certainly go out-I also-with you.’
