Moreover Yahweh’s word came by the prophet Jehu the son of Hanani against Baasha and against his house, both because of all the evil that he did in Yahweh’s sight, to provoke him to anger with the work of his hands, in being like the house of Jeroboam, and because he struck him.

And also by the hand H3027 of the prophet H5030 Jehu H3058 the son H1121 of Hanani H2607 came the word H1697 of the Lord H3068 against Baasha, H1201 and against his house, H1004 even for all the evil H7451 that he did H6213 (QalPerf) in the sight H5869 of the Lord, H3068 in provoking him to anger H3707 (HiphInf) with the work H4639 of his hands, H3027 in being like the house H1004 of Jeroboam; H3379 and because he killed H5221 (HiphPerf) him.

His servant Zimri, captain of half his chariots, conspired against him. Now he was in Tirzah, drinking himself drunk in the house of Arza, who was over the household in Tirzah;

και συνεστρεψεν επ αυτον ζαμβρι ο αρχων της ημισους της ιππου και αυτος ην εν θερσα πινων μεθυων εν τω οικω ωσα του οικονομου εν θερσα

When he began to reign, as soon as he sat on his throne, he attacked all the house of Baasha. He didn’t leave him a single one who urinates on a wall^§ among his relatives or his friends.

When Zimri saw that the city was taken, he went into the fortified part of the king’s house and burned the king’s house over him with fire, and died,

He raised up an altar for Baal in the house of Baal, which he had built in Samaria.

Elijah took the child and brought him down out of the room into the house, and delivered him to his mother; and Elijah said, “Behold, your son lives.”

With the stones he built an altar in Yahweh’s name. He made a trench around the altar large enough to contain two seahs° of seed.

The king of Israel went to his house sullen and angry, and came to Samaria.

“See how Ahab humbles himself before me? Because he humbles himself before me, I will not bring the evil in his days; but I will bring the evil on his house in his son’s day.”

Elisha said to her, “What should I do for you? Tell me, what do you have in the house?” She said, “Your servant has nothing in the house, except a pot of oil.”

When he came to the hill, he took them from their hand, and stored them in the house. Then he let the men go, and they departed.

But Elisha was sitting in his house, and the elders were sitting with him. Then the king sent a man from before him; but before the messenger came to him, he said to the elders, “Do you see how this son of a murderer has sent to take away my head? Behold, when the messenger comes, shut the door, and hold the door shut against him. Isn’t the sound of his master’s feet behind him?”

Then they said to one another, “We aren’t doing right. Today is a day of good news, and we keep silent. If we wait until the morning light, punishment will overtake us. Now therefore come, let’s go and tell the king’s household.”

Then the gatekeepers called out and told it to the king’s household within.

Now Elisha had spoken to the woman whose son he had restored to life, saying, “Arise, and go, you and your household, and stay for a while wherever you can; for Yahweh has called for a famine. It will also come on the land for seven years.”

The woman arose, and did according to the man of God’s word. She went with her household, and lived in the land of the Philistines for seven years.

And the woman H802 arose, H6965 (QalImpf) and did H6213 (QalImpf) after the saying H1697 of the man H376 of God: H430 and she went H3212 (QalImpf) with her household, H1004 and sojourned H1481 (QalImpf) in the land H776 of the Philistines H6430 seven H7651 years. H8141

και ανεστη η γυνη και εποιησεν κατα το ρημα ελισαιε και επορευθη αυτη και ο οικος αυτης και παρωκει εν γη αλλοφυλων επτα ετη

At the end of seven years, the woman returned from the land of the Philistines. Then she went out to beg the king for her house and for her land.

And it came to pass at the seven H7651 years’ H8141 end, H7097 that the woman H802 returned H7725 (QalImpf) out of the land H776 of the Philistines: H6430 and she went forth H3318 (QalImpf) to cry H6817 (QalInf) unto the king H4428 for her house H1004 and for her land. H7704

και εγενετο μετα το τελος των επτα ετων και επεστρεψεν η γυνη εκ γης αλλοφυλων εις την πολιν και ηλθεν βοησαι προς τον βασιλεα περι του οικου εαυτης και περι των αγρων εαυτης

As he was telling the king how he had restored to life him who was dead, behold, the woman whose son he had restored to life begged the king for her house and for her land. Gehazi said, “My lord, O king, this is the woman, and this is her son, whom Elisha restored to life.”

και εγενετο αυτου εξηγουμενου τω βασιλει ως εζωπυρησεν υιον τεθνηκοτα και ιδου η γυνη ης εζωπυρησεν τον υιον αυτης ελισαιε βοωσα προς τον βασιλεα περι του οικου εαυτης και περι των αγρων εαυτης και ειπεν γιεζι κυριε βασιλευ αυτη η γυνη και ουτος ο υιος αυτης ον εζωπυρησεν ελισαιε

He walked in the way of the kings of Israel, as did Ahab’s house, for he married Ahab’s daughter. He did that which was evil in Yahweh’s sight.

και επορευθη εν οδω βασιλεων ισραηλ καθως εποιησεν οικος αχααβ οτι θυγατηρ αχααβ ην αυτω εις γυναικα και εποιησεν το πονηρον ενωπιον κυριου

He walked in the way of Ahab’s house and did that which was evil in Yahweh’s sight, as did Ahab’s house, for he was the son-in-law of Ahab’s house.

He arose, and went into the house. Then he poured the oil on his head, and said to him, “Yahweh, the God of Israel, says, ‘I have anointed you king over the people of Yahweh, even over Israel.

και ανεστη και εισηλθεν εις τον οικον και επεχεεν το ελαιον επι την κεφαλην αυτου και ειπεν αυτω ταδε λεγει κυριος ο θεος ισραηλ κεχρικα σε εις βασιλεα επι λαον κυριου επι τον ισραηλ

You must strike your master Ahab’s house, that I may avenge the blood of my servants the prophets, and the blood of all the servants of Yahweh, at the hand of Jezebel.

And thou shalt smite H5221 (HiphPerf) the house H1004 of Ahab H256 thy master, H113 that I may avenge H5358 (PielPerf) the blood H1818 of my servants H5650 the prophets, H5030 and the blood H1818 of all the servants H5650 of the Lord, H3068 at the hand H3027 of Jezebel. H348

και εξολεθρευσεις τον οικον αχααβ του κυριου σου εκ προσωπου μου και εκδικησεις τα αιματα των δουλων μου των προφητων και τα αιματα παντων των δουλων κυριου εκ χειρος ιεζαβελ

For the whole house of Ahab will perish. I will cut off from Ahab everyone who urinates against a wall,^§ both him who is shut up and him who is left at large in Israel.

select the best and fittest of your master’s sons, set him on his father’s throne, and fight for your master’s house.”

και απεστειλαν οι επι του οικου και οι επι της πολεως και οι πρεσβυτεροι και οι τιθηνοι προς ιου λεγοντες παιδες σου ημεις και οσα εαν ειπης προς ημας ποιησομεν ου βασιλευσομεν ανδρα το αγαθον εν οφθαλμοις σου ποιησομεν

Know now that nothing will fall to the earth of Yahweh’s word, which Yahweh spoke concerning Ahab’s house. For Yahweh has done that which he spoke by his servant Elijah.”

So Jehu struck all that remained of Ahab’s house in Jezreel, with all his great men, his familiar friends, and his priests, until he left him no one remaining.

Jehu sent through all Israel; and all the worshipers of Baal came, so that there was not a man left that didn’t come. They came into the house of Baal; and the house of Baal was filled from one end to another.

And Jehu H3058 sent H7971 (QalImpf) through all Israel: H3478 and all the worshippers H5647 (QalActPtc) of Baal H1168 came, H935 (QalImpf) so that there was not a man H376 left H7604 (NiphPerf) that came H935 (QalPerf) not. Jehu went with Jehonadab the son of Rechab into the house of Baal. Then he said to the worshipers of Baal, “Search, and see that none of the servants of Yahweh are here with you, but only the worshipers of Baal.”

And Jehu H3058 went, H935 (QalImpf) and Jehonadab H3082 the son H1121 of Rechab, H7394 into the house H1004 of Baal, H1168 and said H559 (QalImpf) unto the worshippers H5647 (QalActPtc) of Baal, H1168 Search, H2664 (PielImpv) and look H7200 (QalImpv) that there be H3426 here with you none of the servants H5650 of the Lord, H3068 but the worshippers H5647 (QalActPtc) of Baal H1168 only.

και εισηλθεν ιου και ιωναδαβ υιος ρηχαβ εις οικον του βααλ και ειπεν τοις δουλοις του βααλ ερευνησατε και ιδετε ει εστιν μεθ υμων των δουλων κυριου οτι αλλ η οι δουλοι του βααλ μονωτατοι
