Then Jeremiah took another scroll, and gave it to Baruch the scribe, the son of Neriah, who wrote therein from the mouth of Jeremiah all the words of the book which Jehoiakim king of Judah had burned in the fire; and many similar words were added to them.

Shephatiah the son of Mattan, Gedaliah the son of Pashhur, Jucal the son of Shelemiah, and Pashhur the son of Malchijah heard the words that Jeremiah spoke to all the people, saying,

^[45:1] και ηκουσεν σαφατιας υιος μαθαν και γοδολιας υιος πασχωρ και ιωαχαλ υιος σελεμιου τους λογους ους ελαλει ιερεμιας επι τον λαον λεγων

Then the princes said to the king, “Please let this man be put to death, because he weakens the hands of the men of war who remain in this city, and the hands of all the people, in speaking such words to them; for this man doesn’t seek the welfare of this people, but harm.”

^[45:4] και ειπαν τω βασιλει αναιρεθητω δη ο ανθρωπος εκεινος οτι αυτος εκλυει τας χειρας των ανθρωπων των πολεμουντων των καταλειπομενων εν τη πολει και τας χειρας παντος του λαου λαλων προς αυτους κατα τους λογους τουτους οτι ο ανθρωπος ουτος ου χρησμολογει ειρηνην τω λαω τουτω αλλ η πονηρα

Zedekiah the king said, “Behold, he is in your hand; for the king can’t do anything to oppose you.”

Then Zedekiah H6667 the king H4428 said, H559 (QalImpf) Behold, he is in your hand: H3027 for the king H4428 is not he that can H3201 (QalImpf) do any thing H1697 against you.

^[45:5] και ειπεν ο βασιλευς ιδου αυτος εν χερσιν υμων οτι ουκ ηδυνατο ο βασιλευς προς αυτους

Then Zedekiah the king sent and took Jeremiah the prophet to himself into the third entry that is in Yahweh’s house. Then the king said to Jeremiah, “I will ask you something. Hide nothing from me.”

Then Zedekiah said to Jeremiah, “Let no man know of these words, and you won’t die.

Then all the princes came to Jeremiah, and asked him; and he told them according to all these words that the king had commanded. So they stopped speaking with him, for the matter was not perceived.

Now Yahweh’s word came to Jeremiah while he was shut up in the court of the guard, saying,

“Go, and speak to Ebedmelech the Ethiopian, saying, ‘Yahweh of Armies, the God of Israel, says: “Behold, I will bring my words on this city for evil, and not for good; and they will be accomplished before you in that day.

The word which came to Jeremiah from Yahweh, after Nebuzaradan the captain of the guard had let him go from Ramah, when he had taken him being bound in chains among all the captives of Jerusalem and Judah who were carried away captive to Babylon.

^[47:1] ο λογος ο γενομενος παρα κυριου προς ιερεμιαν υστερον μετα το αποστειλαι αυτον ναβουζαρδαν τον αρχιμαγειρον τον εκ δαμαν εν τω λαβειν αυτον εν χειροπεδαις εν μεσω αποικιας ιουδα των ηγμενων εις βαβυλωνα

and Yahweh has brought it, and done according as he spoke. Because you have sinned against Yahweh, and have not obeyed his voice, therefore this thing has come on you.

Now the Lord H3068 hath brought H935 (HiphImpf) it, and done H6213 (QalImpf) according as he hath said: H1696 (PielPerf) because ye have sinned H2398 (QalPerf) against the Lord, H3068 and have not obeyed H8085 (QalPerf) his voice, H6963 therefore this thing H1697 is come upon you.

But Gedaliah the son of Ahikam said to Johanan the son of Kareah, “You shall not do this thing, for you speak falsely of Ishmael.”

^[47:16] και ειπεν γοδολιας προς ιωαναν μη ποιησης το πραγμα τουτο οτι ψευδη συ λεγεις περι ισμαηλ

that Yahweh your God may show us the way in which we should walk, and the things that we should do.”

that the Lord H3068 thy God H430 may shew H5046 (HiphImpf) us the way H1870 wherein we may walk, H3212 (QalImpf) and the thing H1697 that we may do. H6213 (QalImpf)

^[49:3] και αναγγειλατω ημιν κυριος ο θεος σου την οδον η πορευσομεθα εν αυτη και λογον ον ποιησομεν

Then Jeremiah the prophet said to them, “I have heard you. Behold, I will pray to Yahweh your God according to your words; and it will happen that whatever thing Yahweh answers you, I will declare it to you. I will keep nothing back from you.”

^[49:4] και ειπεν αυτοις ιερεμιας ηκουσα ιδου εγω προσευξομαι προς κυριον τον θεον ημων κατα τους λογους υμων και εσται ο λογος ον αν αποκριθησεται κυριος αναγγελω υμιν ου μη κρυψω αφ υμων ρημα

Then they said to Jeremiah, “May Yahweh be a true and faithful witness among us, if we don’t do according to all the word with which Yahweh your God sends you to tell us.

Then they said H559 (QalPerf) to Jeremiah, H3414 The Lord H3068 be a true H571 and faithful H539 (NiphPtc) witness H5707 between us, if we do H6213 (QalImpf) not even according to all things H1697 for the which the Lord H3068 thy God H430 shall send H7971 (QalImpf) thee to us.

^[49:5] και αυτοι ειπαν τω ιερεμια εστω κυριος εν ημιν εις μαρτυρα δικαιον και πιστον ει μη κατα παντα τον λογον ον αν αποστειλη σε κυριος προς ημας ουτως ποιησομεν

After ten days, Yahweh’s word came to Jeremiah.

And it came to pass after H7093 ten H6235 days, H3117 that the word H1697 of the Lord H3068 came unto Jeremiah. H3414

^[49:7] και εγενηθη μετα δεκα ημερας εγενηθη λογος κυριου προς ιερεμιαν

now therefore hear Yahweh’s word, O remnant of Judah! Yahweh of Armies, the God of Israel, says, ‘If you indeed set your faces to enter into Egypt, and go to live there,

and now therefore hear H8085 (QalImpv) the word H1697 of the Lord, H3068 ye remnant H7611 of Judah; H3063 Thus saith H559 (QalPerf) the Lord H3068 of hosts, H6635 the God H430 of Israel; H3478 If ye wholly H7760 (QalInf) set H7760 (QalImpf) your faces H6440 to enter H935 (QalInf) into Egypt, H4714 and go H935 (QalPerf) to sojourn H1481 (QalInf) there;

^[49:15] δια τουτο ακουσατε λογον κυριου ουτως ειπεν κυριος εαν υμεις δωτε το προσωπον υμων εις αιγυπτον και εισελθητε εκει κατοικειν

When Jeremiah had finished speaking to all the people all the words of Yahweh their God, with which Yahweh their God had sent him to them, even all these words,

And it came to pass, that when Jeremiah H3414 had made an end H3615 (PielInf) of speaking H1696 (PielInf) unto all the people H5971 all the words H1697 of the Lord H3068 their God, H430 for which the Lord H3068 their God H430 had sent H7971 (QalPerf) him to them, even all these words, H1697

^[50:1] και εγενηθη ως επαυσατο ιερεμιας λεγων προς τον λαον παντας τους λογους κυριου ους απεστειλεν αυτον κυριος προς αυτους παντας τους λογους τουτους

Then Yahweh’s word came to Jeremiah in Tahpanhes, saying,

The word that came to Jeremiah concerning all the Jews who lived in the land of Egypt, who lived at Migdol, and at Tahpanhes, and at Memphis, and in the country of Pathros, saying,

^[51:1] ο λογος ο γενομενος προς ιερεμιαν απασιν τοις ιουδαιοις τοις κατοικουσιν εν γη αιγυπτω και τοις καθημενοις εν μαγδωλω και εν ταφνας και εν γη παθουρης λεγων

However I sent to you all my servants the prophets, rising up early and sending them, saying, “Oh, don’t do this abominable thing that I hate.”

Howbeit I sent H7971 (QalImpf) unto you all my servants H5650 the prophets, H5030 rising early H7925 (HiphInf) and sending H7971 (QalInf) them, saying, H559 (QalInf) Oh, do H6213 (QalImpf) not this abominable H8441 thing H1697 that I hate. H8130 (QalPerf)

^[51:4] και απεστειλα προς υμας τους παιδας μου τους προφητας ορθρου και απεστειλα λεγων μη ποιησητε το πραγμα της μολυνσεως ταυτης ης εμισησα

“As for the word that you have spoken to us in Yahweh’s name, we will not listen to you.

As for the word H1697 that thou hast spoken H1696 (PielPerf) unto us in the name H8034 of the Lord, H3068 we will not hearken H8085 (QalActPtc) unto thee.

^[51:16] ο λογος ον ελαλησας προς ημας τω ονοματι κυριου ουκ ακουσομεν σου

But we will certainly perform every word that has gone out of our mouth, to burn incense to the queen of the sky and to pour out drink offerings to her, as we have done, we and our fathers, our kings and our princes, in the cities of Judah and in the streets of Jerusalem; for then we had plenty of food, and were well, and saw no evil.

^[51:17] οτι ποιουντες ποιησομεν παντα τον λογον ος εξελευσεται εκ του στοματος ημων θυμιαν τη βασιλισση του ουρανου και σπενδειν αυτη σπονδας καθα εποιησαμεν ημεις και οι πατερες ημων και οι βασιλεις ημων και οι αρχοντες ημων εν πολεσιν ιουδα και εξωθεν ιερουσαλημ και επλησθημεν αρτων και εγενομεθα χρηστοι και κακα ουκ ειδομεν

Then Jeremiah said to all the people—to the men and to the women, even to all the people who had given him an answer, saying,

^[51:20] και ειπεν ιερεμιας παντι τω λαω τοις δυνατοις και ταις γυναιξιν και παντι τω λαω τοις αποκριθεισιν αυτω λογους λεγων

Moreover Jeremiah said to all the people, including all the women, “Hear Yahweh’s word, all Judah who are in the land of Egypt!

Moreover Jeremiah H3414 said H559 (QalImpf) unto all the people, H5971 and to all the women, H802 Hear H8085 (QalImpv) the word H1697 of the Lord, H3068 all Judah H3063 that are in the land H776 of Egypt: H4714

^[51:24] και ειπεν ιερεμιας τω λαω και ταις γυναιξιν ακουσατε τον λογον κυριου

“Therefore hear Yahweh’s word, all Judah who dwell in the land of Egypt: ‘Behold, I have sworn by my great name,’ says Yahweh, ‘that my name will no more be named in the mouth of any man of Judah in all the land of Egypt, saying, “As the Lord Yahweh lives.”

Therefore hear H8085 (QalImpv) ye the word H1697 of the Lord, H3068 all Judah H3063 that dwell H3427 (QalActPtc) in the land H776 of Egypt; H4714 Behold, I have sworn H7650 (NiphPerf) by my great H1419 name, H8034 saith H559 (QalPerf) the Lord, H3068 that my name H8034 shall no more be named H7121 (NiphPtc) in the mouth H6310 of any man H376 of Judah H3063 in all the land H776 of Egypt, H4714 saying, H559 (QalActPtc) The Lord H136 God H3069 liveth. ^[51:26] δια τουτο ακουσατε λογον κυριου πας ιουδα οι καθημενοι εν γη αιγυπτω ιδου ωμοσα τω ονοματι μου τω μεγαλω ειπεν κυριος εαν γενηται ετι ονομα μου εν τω στοματι παντος ιουδα ειπειν ζη κυριος κυριος επι παση γη αιγυπτω

Those who escape the sword will return out of the land of Egypt into the land of Judah few in number. All the remnant of Judah, who have gone into the land of Egypt to live there, will know whose word will stand, mine or theirs.

Yet a small H4962 number H4557 that escape H6412 the sword H2719 shall return out H7725 (QalImpf) of the land H776 of Egypt H4714 into the land H776 of Judah, H3063 and all the remnant H7611 of Judah, H3063 that are gone H935 (QalActPtc) into the land H776 of Egypt H4714 to sojourn H1481 (QalInf) there, shall know H3045 (QalPerf) whose words H1697 shall stand, H6965 (QalImpf) mine, or their’s.

^[51:28] και οι σεσωσμενοι απο ρομφαιας επιστρεψουσιν εις γην ιουδα ολιγοι αριθμω και γνωσονται οι καταλοιποι ιουδα οι κατασταντες εν γη αιγυπτω κατοικησαι εκει λογος τινος εμμενει

“‘This will be the sign to you,’ says Yahweh, ‘that I will punish you in this place, that you may know that my words will surely stand against you for evil.’

And this shall be a sign H226 unto you, saith H5002 (QalPasPtc) the Lord, H3068 that I will punish H6485 (QalActPtc) you in this place, H4725 that ye may know H3045 (QalImpf) that my words H1697 shall surely H6965 (QalInf) stand H6965 (QalImpf) against you for evil: H7451

^[51:29] και τουτο υμιν το σημειον οτι επισκεψομαι εγω εφ υμας εις πονηρα

The message that Jeremiah the prophet spoke to Baruch the son of Neriah, when he wrote these words in a book at the mouth of Jeremiah, in the fourth year of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah, king of Judah, saying,
