Yet he also is wise, and will bring disaster, and will not call back his words, but will arise against the house of the evildoers, and against the help of those who work iniquity.

Thorns and briers will come up on my people’s land; yes, on all the houses of joy in the joyous city.

Then Eliakim the son of Hilkiah, who was over the household, and Shebna the scribe, and Joah, the son of Asaph the recorder came out to him.

When King Hezekiah heard it, he tore his clothes, covered himself with sackcloth, and went into Yahweh’s house.

He sent Eliakim, who was over the household, and Shebna the scribe, and the elders of the priests, covered with sackcloth, to Isaiah the prophet, the son of Amoz.

και εσονται οι καταλελειμμενοι εν τη ιουδαια φυησουσιν ριζαν κατω και ποιησουσιν σπερμα ανω

As he was worshiping in the house of Nisroch his god, Adrammelech and Sharezer his sons struck him with the sword; and they escaped into the land of Ararat. Esar Haddon his son reigned in his place.

In those days Hezekiah was sick and near death. Isaiah the prophet, the son of Amoz, came to him, and said to him, “Yahweh says, ‘Set your house in order, for you will die, and not live.’ ”

Yahweh will save me. Therefore we will sing my songs with stringed instruments all the days of our life in Yahweh’s house.

κυριε της σωτηριας μου και ου παυσομαι ευλογων σε μετα ψαλτηριου πασας τας ημερας της ζωης μου κατεναντι του οικου του θεου

Hezekiah also had said, “What is the sign that I will go up to Yahweh’s house?”

και ειπεν εζεκιας τουτο το σημειον οτι αναβησομαι εις τον οικον κυριου του θεου

Hezekiah was pleased with them, and showed them the house of his precious things, the silver, the gold, the spices, and the precious oil, and all the house of his armor, and all that was found in his treasures. There was nothing in his house, nor in all his dominion, that Hezekiah didn’t show them.

και εχαρη επ αυτοις εζεκιας χαραν μεγαλην και εδειξεν αυτοις τον οικον του νεχωθα και της στακτης και των θυμιαματων και του μυρου και του αργυριου και του χρυσιου και παντας τους οικους των σκευων της γαζης και παντα οσα ην εν τοις θησαυροις αυτου και ουκ ην ουθεν ο ουκ εδειξεν εζεκιας εν τω οικω αυτου

Then he asked, “What have they seen in your house?” Hezekiah answered, “They have seen all that is in my house. There is nothing among my treasures that I have not shown them.”

‘Behold, the days are coming when all that is in your house, and that which your fathers have stored up until today, will be carried to Babylon. Nothing will be left,’ says Yahweh.

ανοιξαι οφθαλμους τυφλων εξαγαγειν εκ δεσμων δεδεμενους και εξ οικου φυλακης καθημενους εν σκοτει

But this is a robbed and plundered people. All of them are snared in holes, and they are hidden in prisons. They have become captives, and no one delivers, and a plunder, and no one says, ‘Restore them!’

και εγενετο ο λαος πεπρονομευμενος και διηρπασμενος η γαρ παγις εν τοις ταμιειοις πανταχου και εν οικοις αμα οπου εκρυψαν αυτους εγενοντο εις προνομην και ουκ ην ο εξαιρουμενος αρπαγμα και ουκ ην ο λεγων αποδος

The carpenter stretches out a line. He marks it out with a pencil. He shapes it with planes. He marks it out with compasses, and shapes it like the figure of a man, with the beauty of a man, to reside in a house.

τεκτων ξυλον εστησεν αυτο εν μετρω και εν κολλη ερρυθμισεν αυτο εποιησεν αυτο ως μορφην ανδρος και ως ωραιοτητα ανθρωπου στησαι αυτο εν οικω

“Listen to me, house of Jacob, and all the remnant of the house of Israel, that have been carried from their birth, that have been carried from the womb.

ακουσατε μου οικος του ιακωβ και παν το καταλοιπον του ισραηλ οι αιρομενοι εκ κοιλιας και παιδευομενοι εκ παιδιου

“Hear this, house of Jacob, you who are called by the name of Israel, and have come out of the waters of Judah. You swear by Yahweh’s name, and make mention of the God of Israel, but not in truth, nor in righteousness—

ακουσατε ταυτα οικος ιακωβ οι κεκλημενοι τω ονοματι ισραηλ και οι εξ ιουδα εξελθοντες οι ομνυοντες τω ονοματι κυριου θεου ισραηλ μιμνησκομενοι ου μετα αληθειας ουδε μετα δικαιοσυνης

I will give them in my house and within my walls a memorial and a name better than of sons and of daughters. I will give them an everlasting name that will not be cut off.

δωσω αυτοις εν τω οικω μου και εν τω τειχει μου τοπον ονομαστον κρειττω υιων και θυγατερων ονομα αιωνιον δωσω αυτοις και ουκ εκλειψει

I will bring these to my holy mountain, and make them joyful in my house of prayer. Their burnt offerings and their sacrifices will be accepted on my altar; for my house will be called a house of prayer for all peoples.”

εισαξω αυτους εις το ορος το αγιον μου και ευφρανω αυτους εν τω οικω της προσευχης μου τα ολοκαυτωματα αυτων και αι θυσιαι αυτων εσονται δεκται επι του θυσιαστηριου μου ο γαρ οικος μου οικος προσευχης κληθησεται πασιν τοις εθνεσιν

“Cry aloud! Don’t spare! Lift up your voice like a trumpet! Declare to my people their disobedience, and to the house of Jacob their sins.

αναβοησον εν ισχυι και μη φειση ως σαλπιγγα υψωσον την φωνην σου και αναγγειλον τω λαω μου τα αμαρτηματα αυτων και τω οικω ιακωβ τας ανομιας αυτων

Isn’t it to distribute your bread to the hungry, and that you bring the poor who are cast out to your house? When you see the naked, that you cover him; and that you not hide yourself from your own flesh?

διαθρυπτε πεινωντι τον αρτον σου και πτωχους αστεγους εισαγε εις τον οικον σου εαν ιδης γυμνον περιβαλε και απο των οικειων του σπερματος σου ουχ υπεροψη

All the flocks of Kedar will be gathered together to you. The rams of Nebaioth will serve you. They will be accepted as offerings on my altar; and I will beautify my glorious house.

και παντα τα προβατα κηδαρ συναχθησονται σοι και κριοι ναβαιωθ ηξουσιν σοι και ανενεχθησεται δεκτα επι το θυσιαστηριον μου και ο οικος της προσευχης μου δοξασθησεται

I will tell of the loving kindnesses of Yahweh and the praises of Yahweh, according to all that Yahweh has given to us, and the great goodness toward the house of Israel, which he has given to them according to his mercies, and according to the multitude of his loving kindnesses.

τον ελεον κυριου εμνησθην τας αρετας κυριου εν πασιν οις ο κυριος ημιν ανταποδιδωσιν κυριος κριτης αγαθος τω οικω ισραηλ επαγει ημιν κατα το ελεος αυτου και κατα το πληθος της δικαιοσυνης αυτου

Our holy and our beautiful house where our fathers praised you is burned with fire. All our pleasant places are laid waste.

^[64:10] ο οικος το αγιον ημων και η δοξα ην ηυλογησαν οι πατερες ημων εγενηθη πυρικαυστος και παντα τα ενδοξα συνεπεσεν

They will build houses and inhabit them. They will plant vineyards and eat their fruit.

και οικοδομησουσιν οικιας και αυτοι ενοικησουσιν και καταφυτευσουσιν αμπελωνας και αυτοι φαγονται τα γενηματα αυτων

Yahweh says: “Heaven is my throne, and the earth is my footstool. What kind of house will you build to me? Where will I rest?

Thus saith H559 (QalPerf) the Lord, H3068 The heaven H8064 [is] my throne, H3678 and the earth H776 [is] my footstool: H7272 H1916 where [is] the house H1004 that ye build H1129 (QalImpf) unto me? and where [is] the place H4725 of my rest? H4496

They shall bring all your brothers out of all the nations for an offering to Yahweh, on horses, in chariots, in litters, on mules, and on camels, to my holy mountain Jerusalem, says Yahweh, as the children of Israel bring their offering in a clean vessel into Yahweh’s house.

και αξουσιν τους αδελφους υμων εκ παντων των εθνων δωρον κυριω μεθ ιππων και αρματων εν λαμπηναις ημιονων μετα σκιαδιων εις την αγιαν πολιν ιερουσαλημ ειπεν κυριος ως αν ενεγκαισαν οι υιοι ισραηλ εμοι τας θυσιας αυτων μετα ψαλμων εις τον οικον κυριου

Hear Yahweh’s word, O house of Jacob, and all the families of the house of Israel!

ακουσατε λογον κυριου οικος ιακωβ και πασα πατρια οικου ισραηλ

Is Israel a slave? Is he born into slavery? Why has he become a captive?

[Is] Israel H3478 a servant? H5650 [is] he a homeborn H1004 H3211 [slave]? why H4069 is he spoiled? H957

μη δουλος εστιν ισραηλ η οικογενης εστιν δια τι εις προνομην εγενετο

As the thief is ashamed when he is found, so the house of Israel is ashamed— they, their kings, their princes, their priests, and their prophets,

εν ταις ημεραις εκειναις συνελευσονται οικος ιουδα επι τον οικον του ισραηλ και ηξουσιν επι το αυτο απο γης βορρα και απο πασων των χωρων επι την γην ην κατεκληρονομησα τους πατερας αυτων

“Surely as a wife treacherously departs from her husband, so you have dealt treacherously with me, house of Israel,” says Yahweh.

πλην ως αθετει γυνη εις τον συνοντα αυτη ουτως ηθετησεν εις εμε οικος ισραηλ λεγει κυριος

“How can I pardon you? Your children have forsaken me, and sworn by what are no gods. When I had fed them to the full, they committed adultery, and assembled themselves in troops at the prostitutes’ houses.

ποια τουτων ιλεως γενωμαι σοι οι υιοι σου εγκατελιπον με και ωμνυον εν τοις ουκ ουσιν θεοις και εχορτασα αυτους και εμοιχωντο και εν οικοις πορνων κατελυον

ιδου εγω επαγω εφ υμας εθνος πορρωθεν οικος ισραηλ λεγει κυριος εθνος ου ουκ ακουση της φωνης της γλωσσης αυτου

“Declare this in the house of Jacob, and publish it in Judah, saying,

και μεταστραφησονται αι οικιαι αυτων εις ετερους αγροι και αι γυναικες αυτων επι το αυτο οτι εκτενω την χειρα μου επι τους κατοικουντας την γην ταυτην λεγει κυριος

“Stand in the gate of Yahweh’s house, and proclaim this word there, and say, ‘Hear Yahweh’s word, all you of Judah, who enter in at these gates to worship Yahweh.’ ”

και ηλθετε και εστητε ενωπιον εμου εν τω οικω ου επικεκληται το ονομα μου επ αυτω και ειπατε απεσχημεθα του μη ποιειν παντα τα βδελυγματα ταυτα

Has this house, which is called by my name, become a den of robbers in your eyes? Behold, I myself have seen it,” says Yahweh.

μη σπηλαιον ληστων ο οικος μου ου επικεκληται το ονομα μου επ αυτω εκει ενωπιον υμων και εγω ιδου εωρακα λεγει κυριος

therefore I will do to the house which is called by my name, in which you trust, and to the place which I gave to you and to your fathers, as I did to Shiloh.
