What if there are fifty righteous within the city? Will you consume and not spare the place for the fifty righteous who are in it?

May it be far from you to do things like that, to kill the righteous with the wicked, so that the righteous should be like the wicked. May that be far from you. Shouldn’t the Judge of all the earth do right?”

Yahweh said, “If I find in Sodom fifty righteous within the city, then I will spare the whole place for their sake.”

What if there will lack five of the fifty righteous? Will you destroy all the city for lack of five?” He said, “I will not destroy it if I find forty-five there.”

“You shall take no bribe, for a bribe blinds those who have sight and perverts the words of the righteous.

Exodus 23:8 Heb. the seeing

What great nation is there that has statutes and ordinances so righteous as all this law which I set before you today?

Deuteronomy 16:19 Or, matters

Ezra 9:15 “Behold”, from “הִנֵּה”, means look at, take notice, observe, see, or gaze at. It is often used as an interjection.

I am like one who is a joke to his neighbor, I, who called on God, and he answered. The just, the blameless man is a joke.

δικαιος γαρ ανηρ και αμεμπτος εγενηθη εις χλευασμα

Yet the righteous will hold to his way. He who has clean hands will grow stronger and stronger.

Job 17:9 Heb. shall add strength

The righteous see it, and are glad. The innocent ridicule them,

Should even one who hates justice govern? Will you condemn him who is righteous and mighty,

Job 34:17 Heb. binde

ιδε συ τον μισουντα ανομα και τον ολλυντα τους πονηρους οντα αιωνιον δικαιον

He doesn’t withdraw his eyes from the righteous, but with kings on the throne, he sets them forever, and they are exalted.

δια τουτο ουκ αναστησονται ασεβεις εν κρισει ουδε αμαρτωλοι εν βουλη δικαιων

For Yahweh knows the way of the righteous, but the way of the wicked shall perish.

For the Lord H3068 knoweth H3045 (QalActPtc) the way H1870 of the righteous: H6662 But the way H1870 of the ungodly H7563 shall perish. H6 (QalImpf)

οτι γινωσκει κυριος οδον δικαιων και οδος ασεβων απολειται

For you will bless the righteous. Yahweh, you will surround him with favor as with a shield.

For thou, Lord, H3068 wilt bless H1288 (PielImpf) the righteous; H6662 With favour H7522 wilt thou compass H5849 (QalImpf) him^§ as with a shield. H6793

Psalm 5:12 Heb. crown him

^[5:13] οτι συ ευλογησεις δικαιον κυριε ως οπλω ευδοκιας εστεφανωσας ημας

Oh let the wickedness of the wicked come to an end, but establish the righteous; their minds and hearts are searched by the righteous God.

God is a righteous judge, yes, a God who has indignation every day.

If the foundations are destroyed, what can the righteous do?

Yahweh examines the righteous, but his soul hates the wicked and him who loves violence.

For Yahweh is righteous. He loves righteousness. The upright shall see his face.

^[10:7] οτι δικαιος κυριος και δικαιοσυνας ηγαπησεν ευθυτητα ειδεν το προσωπον αυτου

There they were in great fear, for God is in the generation of the righteous.

Yahweh’s eyes are toward the righteous. His ears listen to their cry.

Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but Yahweh delivers him out of them all.
