εαν δε ευρεθη εν σοι εν μια των πολεων σου ων κυριος ο θεος σου διδωσιν σοι ανηρ η γυνη οστις ποιησει το πονηρον εναντιον κυριου του θεου σου παρελθειν την διαθηκην αυτου

When you have come to the land which Yahweh your God gives you, and possess it and dwell in it, and say, “I will set a king over me, like all the nations that are around me,”

When thou art come H935 (QalImpf) unto the land H776 which the Lord H3068 thy God H430 giveth H5414 (QalActPtc) thee, and shalt possess H3423 (QalPerf) it, and shalt dwell H3427 (QalPerf) therein, and shalt say, H559 (QalPerf) I will set H7760 (QalImpf) a king H4428 over me, like as all the nations H1471 that are about H5439 me;

you shall surely set him whom Yahweh your God chooses as king over yourselves. You shall set as king over you one from among your brothers. You may not put a foreigner over you, who is not your brother.

καθιστων καταστησεις επι σεαυτον αρχοντα ον αν εκλεξηται κυριος ο θεος σου αυτον εκ των αδελφων σου καταστησεις επι σεαυτον αρχοντα ου δυνηση καταστησαι επι σεαυτον ανθρωπον αλλοτριον οτι ουκ αδελφος σου εστιν

This shall be the priests’ due from the people, from those who offer a sacrifice, whether it be ox or sheep, that they shall give to the priest: the shoulder, the two cheeks, and the inner parts.

You shall give him the first fruits of your grain, of your new wine, and of your oil, and the first of the fleece of your sheep.

When you have come into the land which Yahweh your God gives you, you shall not learn to imitate the abominations of those nations.

When thou art come H935 (QalActPtc) into the land H776 which the Lord H3068 thy God H430 giveth H5414 (QalActPtc) thee, thou shalt not learn H3925 (QalImpf) to do H6213 (QalInf) after the abominations H8441 of those nations. H1471

εαν δε εισελθης εις την γην ην κυριος ο θεος σου διδωσιν σοι ου μαθηση ποιειν κατα τα βδελυγματα των εθνων εκεινων

For these nations that you shall dispossess listen to those who practice sorcery and to diviners; but as for you, Yahweh your God has not allowed you so to do.

For these nations, H1471 which thou shalt possess,^§ H3423 (QalActPtc) hearkened H8085 (QalImpf) unto observers of times, H6049 (PoelPtc) and unto diviners: H7080 (QalActPtc) but as for thee, the Lord H3068 thy God H430 hath not suffered H5414 (QalPerf) thee so to do.

τα γαρ εθνη ταυτα ους συ κατακληρονομεις αυτους ουτοι κληδονων και μαντειων ακουσονται σοι δε ουχ ουτως εδωκεν κυριος ο θεος σου

I will raise them up a prophet from among their brothers, like you. I will put my words in his mouth, and he shall speak to them all that I shall command him.

When Yahweh your God cuts off the nations whose land Yahweh your God gives you, and you succeed them and dwell in their cities and in their houses,

Deuteronomy 19:1 Heb. inheritest, or possessest

εαν δε αφανιση κυριος ο θεος σου τα εθνη α ο θεος σου διδωσιν σοι την γην αυτων και κατακληρονομησητε αυτους και κατοικησητε εν ταις πολεσιν αυτων και εν τοις οικοις αυτων

you shall set apart three cities for yourselves in the middle of your land, which Yahweh your God gives you to possess.

If Yahweh your God enlarges your border, as he has sworn to your fathers, and gives you all the land which he promised to give to your fathers;

εαν δε εμπλατυνη κυριος ο θεος σου τα ορια σου ον τροπον ωμοσεν τοις πατρασιν σου και δω σοι κυριος πασαν την γην ην ειπεν δουναι τοις πατρασιν σου

This is so that innocent blood will not be shed in the middle of your land which Yahweh your God gives you for an inheritance, leaving blood guilt on you.

και ουκ εκχυθησεται αιμα αναιτιον εν τη γη σου η κυριος ο θεος σου διδωσιν σοι εν κληρω και ουκ εσται εν σοι αιματι ενοχος

then the elders of his city shall send and bring him there, and deliver him into the hand of the avenger of blood, that he may die.

You shall not remove your neighbor’s landmark, which they of old time have set, in your inheritance which you shall inherit, in the land that Yahweh your God gives you to possess.

ου μετακινησεις ορια του πλησιον σου α εστησαν οι πατερες σου εν τη κληρονομια σου η κατεκληρονομηθης εν τη γη η κυριος ο θεος σου διδωσιν σοι εν κληρω

When Yahweh your God delivers it into your hand, you shall strike every male of it with the edge of the sword;

and when the Lord H3068 thy God H430 hath delivered H5414 (QalPerf) it into thine hands, H3027 thou shalt smite H5221 (HiphPerf) every male H2138 thereof with the edge H6310 of the sword: H2719

και παραδωσει αυτην κυριος ο θεος σου εις τας χειρας σου και παταξεις παν αρσενικον αυτης εν φονω μαχαιρας

but the women, the little ones, the livestock, and all that is in the city, even all its plunder, you shall take for plunder for yourself. You may use the plunder of your enemies, which Yahweh your God has given you.

πλην των γυναικων και της αποσκευης και παντα τα κτηνη και παντα οσα αν υπαρχη εν τη πολει και πασαν την απαρτιαν προνομευσεις σεαυτω και φαγη πασαν την προνομην των εχθρων σου ων κυριος ο θεος σου διδωσιν σοι

εαν δε ευρεθη τραυματιας εν τη γη η κυριος ο θεος σου διδωσιν σοι κληρονομησαι πεπτωκως εν τω πεδιω και ουκ οιδασιν τον παταξαντα

Forgive, Yahweh, your people Israel, whom you have redeemed, and don’t allow innocent blood among your people Israel.” The blood shall be forgiven them.

Be merciful, H3722 (PielImpv) O Lord, H3068 unto thy people^§ H5971 Israel, H3478 whom thou hast redeemed, H6299 (QalPerf) and lay H5414 (QalImpf) not innocent H5355 blood H1818 unto thy people H5971 of Israel’s H3478 charge. H7130 And the blood H1818 shall be forgiven H3722 (HithPerf) them.

Deuteronomy 21:8 Heb. in the midst

ιλεως γενου τω λαω σου ισραηλ ους ελυτρωσω κυριε εκ γης αιγυπτου ινα μη γενηται αιμα αναιτιον εν τω λαω σου ισραηλ και εξιλασθησεται αυτοις το αιμα

When you go out to battle against your enemies, and Yahweh your God delivers them into your hands and you carry them away captive,

Deuteronomy 21:23 Heb. the curse of God

ουκ επικοιμηθησεται το σωμα αυτου επι του ξυλου αλλα ταφη θαψετε αυτον εν τη ημερα εκεινη οτι κεκατηραμενος υπο θεου πας κρεμαμενος επι ξυλου και ου μιανειτε την γην ην κυριος ο θεος σου διδωσιν σοι εν κληρω

The young lady’s father shall tell the elders, “I gave my daughter to this man as his wife, and he hates her.

Deuteronomy 22:19 A shekel is about 10 grams or about 0.35 ounces, so 100 shekels is about a kilogram or 2.2 pounds.

for Yahweh your God walks in the middle of your camp, to deliver you, and to give up your enemies before you. Therefore your camp shall be holy, that he may not see an unclean thing in you, and turn away from you.

Deuteronomy 23:14 Heb. nakedness of any thing

In his day you shall give him his wages, neither shall the sun go down on it, for he is poor and sets his heart on it, lest he cry against you to Yahweh, and it be sin to you.

αυθημερον αποδωσεις τον μισθον αυτου ουκ επιδυσεται ο ηλιος επ αυτω οτι πενης εστιν και εν αυτω εχει την ελπιδα και ου καταβοησεται κατα σου προς κυριον και εσται εν σοι αμαρτια

You shall have a perfect and just weight. You shall have a perfect and just measure, that your days may be long in the land which Yahweh your God gives you.

that you shall take some of the first of all the fruit of the ground, which you shall bring in from your land that Yahweh your God gives you. You shall put it in a basket, and shall go to the place which Yahweh your God shall choose to cause his name to dwell there.

και λημψη απο της απαρχης των καρπων της γης σου ης κυριος ο θεος σου διδωσιν σοι και εμβαλεις εις καρταλλον και πορευση εις τον τοπον ον αν εκλεξηται κυριος ο θεος σου επικληθηναι το ονομα αυτου εκει

You shall come to the priest who shall be in those days, and tell him, “I profess today to Yahweh your God, that I have come to the land which Yahweh swore to our fathers to give us.”

The Egyptians mistreated us, afflicted us, and imposed hard labor on us.

You shall rejoice in all the good which Yahweh your God has given to you, and to your house, you, and the Levite, and the foreigner who is among you.

When you have finished tithing all the tithe of your increase in the third year, which is the year of tithing, then you shall give it to the Levite, to the foreigner, to the fatherless, and to the widow, that they may eat within your gates and be filled.

εαν δε συντελεσης αποδεκατωσαι παν το επιδεκατον των γενηματων της γης σου εν τω ετει τω τριτω το δευτερον επιδεκατον δωσεις τω λευιτη και τω προσηλυτω και τω ορφανω και τη χηρα και φαγονται εν ταις πολεσιν σου και εμπλησθησονται

You shall say before Yahweh your God, “I have put away the holy things out of my house, and also have given them to the Levite, to the foreigner, to the fatherless, and to the widow, according to all your commandment which you have commanded me. I have not transgressed any of your commandments, neither have I forgotten them.

It shall be on the day when you shall pass over the Jordan to the land which Yahweh your God gives you, that you shall set yourself up great stones, and coat them with plaster.

You shall write on them all the words of this law, when you have passed over, that you may go in to the land which Yahweh your God gives you, a land flowing with milk and honey, as Yahweh, the God of your fathers, has promised you.

και γραψεις επι των λιθων παντας τους λογους του νομου τουτου ως αν διαβητε τον ιορδανην ηνικα εαν εισελθητε εις την γην ην κυριος ο θεος των πατερων σου διδωσιν σοι γην ρεουσαν γαλα και μελι ον τροπον ειπεν κυριος ο θεος των πατερων σου σοι

It shall happen, if you shall listen diligently to Yahweh your God’s voice, to observe to do all his commandments which I command you today, that Yahweh your God will set you high above all the nations of the earth.

And it shall come to pass, if thou shalt hearken H8085 (QalImpf) diligently H8085 (QalInf) unto the voice H6963 of the Lord H3068 thy God, H430 to observe H8104 (QalInf) and to do H6213 (QalInf) all his commandments H4687 which I command H6680 (PielPtc) thee this day, H3117 that the Lord H3068 thy God H430 will set H5414 (QalPerf) thee on high H5945 above all nations H1471 of the earth: H776

και εσται ως αν διαβητε τον ιορδανην εις την γην ην κυριος ο θεος υμων διδωσιν υμιν εαν ακοη εισακουσητε της φωνης κυριου του θεου υμων φυλασσειν και ποιειν πασας τας εντολας αυτου ας εγω εντελλομαι σοι σημερον και δωσει σε κυριος ο θεος σου υπερανω παντων των εθνων της γης

Yahweh will cause your enemies who rise up against you to be struck before you. They will come out against you one way, and will flee before you seven ways.

The Lord H3068 shall cause H5414 (QalImpf) thine enemies H341 (QalActPtc) that rise up H6965 (QalPtc) against thee to be smitten H5062 (NiphPtc) before thy face: H6440 they shall come out H3318 (QalImpf) against thee one H259 way, H1870 and flee H5127 (QalImpf) before H6440 thee seven H7651 ways. παραδω κυριος ο θεος σου τους εχθρους σου τους ανθεστηκοτας σοι συντετριμμενους προ προσωπου σου οδω μια εξελευσονται προς σε και εν επτα οδοις φευξονται απο προσωπου σου

Yahweh will command the blessing on you in your barns, and in all that you put your hand to. He will bless you in the land which Yahweh your God gives you.

The Lord H3068 shall command H6680 (PielImpf) the blessing H1293 upon thee in thy storehouses,^§ H618 and in all that thou settest H4916 thine hand H3027 unto; and he shall bless H1288 (PielPerf) thee in the land H776 which the Lord H3068 thy God H430 giveth H5414 (QalActPtc) thee.
