[1] “Listen to this, you priests!
Listen, house of Israel,
and give ear, house of the king!
For the judgment is against you;
for you have been a snare at Mizpah,
and a net spread on Tabor.
[2] The rebels are deep in slaughter,
but I discipline all of them.
[3] I know Ephraim,
and Israel is not hidden from me;
for now, Ephraim, you have played the prostitute.
Israel is defiled.
[4] Their deeds won’t allow them to turn to their God,
for the spirit of prostitution is within them,
and they don’t know Yahweh.
[5] The pride of Israel testifies to his face.
Therefore Israel and Ephraim will stumble in their iniquity.
Judah also will stumble with them.
[6] They will go with their flocks and with their herds to seek Yahweh,
but they won’t find him.
He has withdrawn himself from them.
[7] They are unfaithful to Yahweh;
for they have borne illegitimate children.
Now the new moon will devour them with their fields. [8] “Blow the cornet in Gibeah,
and the trumpet in Ramah!
Sound a battle cry at Beth Aven, behind you, Benjamin!
[9] Ephraim will become a desolation in the day of rebuke.
Among the tribes of Israel, I have made known that which will surely be.
[10] The princes of Judah are like those who remove a landmark.
I will pour out my wrath on them like water.
[11] Ephraim is oppressed,
he is crushed in judgment,
because he is intent in his pursuit of idols.
[12] Therefore I am to Ephraim like a moth,
and to the house of Judah like rottenness. [13] “When Ephraim saw his sickness,
and Judah his wound,
then Ephraim went to Assyria,
and sent to King Jareb:
but he is not able to heal you,
neither will he cure you of your wound.
[14] For I will be to Ephraim like a lion,
and like a young lion to the house of Judah.
I myself will tear in pieces and go away.
I will carry off, and there will be no one to deliver.
[15] I will go and return to my place,
until they acknowledge their offense,
and seek my face.
In their affliction they will seek me earnestly.”

King James Version
[1] HearH8085(QalImpv) ye this, O priests;H3548 and hearken,H7181(HiphImpv) ye houseH1004 of Israel;H3478 and give ye ear,H238(HiphImpv) O houseH1004 of the king;H4428 for judgmentH4941 [is] toward you, because ye have been a snareH6341 on Mizpah,H4709 and a netH7568 spreadH6566(QalPasPtc) upon Tabor.H8396 [2] And the revoltersH7846 are profoundH6009(HiphPerf) to make slaughter,H7819(QalInf) though I [have been] a rebukerH4148 of them all. [3] I knowH3045(QalPerf) Ephraim,H669 and IsraelH3478 is not hidH3582(NiphPerf) from me: for now, O Ephraim,H669 thou committest whoredom,H2181(HiphPerf) [and] IsraelH3478 is defiled.H2930(NiphPerf) [4] They will not frameH5414(QalImpf) their doingsH4611 to turnH7725(QalInf) unto their God:H430 for the spiritH7307 of whoredomsH2183 [is] in the midstH7130 of them, and they have not knownH3045(QalPerf) the Lord.H3068 [5] And the prideH1347 of IsraelH3478 doth testifyH6030(QalPerf) to his face:H6440 therefore shall IsraelH3478 and EphraimH669 fallH3782(NiphImpf) in their iniquity;H5771 JudahH3063 also shall fallH3782(QalPerf) with them. [6] They shall goH3212(QalImpf) with their flocksH6629 and with their herdsH1241 to seekH1245(PielInf) the Lord;H3068 but they shall not findH4672(QalImpf) [him]; he hath withdrawnH2502(QalPerf) himself from them. [7] They have dealt treacherouslyH898(QalPerf) against the Lord:H3068 for they have begottenH3205(QalPerf) strangeH2114(QalPtc) children:H1121 now shall a monthH2320 devourH398(QalImpf) them with their portions.H2506 [8] BlowH8628(QalImpv) ye the cornetH7782 in Gibeah,H1390 [and] the trumpetH2689 in Ramah:H7414 cry aloudH7321(HiphImpv) [at] Bethaven,H1007 afterH310 thee, O Benjamin.H1144 [9] EphraimH669 shall be desolateH8047 in the dayH3117 of rebuke:H8433 among the tribesH7626 of IsraelH3478 have I made knownH3045(HiphPerf) that which shall surely be.H539(NiphPtc) [10] The princesH8269 of JudahH3063 were like them that removeH5253(HiphPtc) the bound:H1366 [therefore] I will pour outH8210(QalImpf) my wrathH5678 upon them like water.H4325 [11] EphraimH669 [is] oppressedH6231(QalPasPtc) [and] brokenH7533(QalPasPtc) in judgment,H4941 because he willinglyH2974(HiphPerf) walkedH1980(QalPerf) afterH310 the commandment.H6673 [12] Therefore [will] I [be] unto EphraimH669 as a moth,H6211 and to the houseH1004 of JudahH3063 as rottenness.H7538 [13] When EphraimH669 sawH7200(QalImpf) his sickness,H2483 and JudahH3063 [saw] his wound,H4205 then wentH3212(QalImpf) EphraimH669 to the Assyrian,H804 and sentH7971(QalImpf) to kingH4428 Jareb:H3377(QK) yet couldH3201(QalImpf) he not healH7495(QalInf) you, nor cureH1455(QalImpf) you of your wound.H4205 [14] For I [will be] unto EphraimH669 as a lion,H7826 and as a young lionH3715 to the houseH1004 of Judah:H3063 I, [even] I, will tearH2963(QalImpf) and go away;H3212(QalImpf) I will take away,H5375(QalImpf) and none shall rescueH5337(HiphPtc) [him]. [15] I will goH3212(QalImpf) [and] returnH7725(QalImpf) to my place,H4725 till they acknowledge their offence,H816(QalImpf) and seekH1245(PielPerf) my face:H6440 in their afflictionH6862 they will seek me early.H7836(PielImpf)
