[1] Open your doors, Lebanon,
that the fire may devour your cedars.
[2] Wail, cypress tree, for the cedar has fallen,
because the stately ones are destroyed.
Wail, you oaks of Bashan,
for the strong forest has come down.
[3] A voice of the wailing of the shepherds!
For their glory is destroyed—a voice of the roaring of young lions!
For the pride of the Jordan is ruined.
[4] Yahweh my God says: “Feed the flock of slaughter. [5] Their buyers slaughter them and go unpunished. Those who sell them say, ‘Blessed be Yahweh, for I am rich;’ and their own shepherds don’t pity them. [6] For I will no more pity the inhabitants of the land,” says Yahweh; “but, behold, I will deliver every one of the men into his neighbor’s hand and into the hand of his king. They will strike the land, and out of their hand I will not deliver them.” [7] So I fed the flock to be slaughtered, especially the oppressed of the flock. I took for myself two staffs. The one I called “Favor” and the other I called “Union”, and I fed the flock. [8] I cut off the three shepherds in one month; for my soul was weary of them, and their soul also loathed me. [9] Then I said, “I will not feed you. That which dies, let it die; and that which is to be cut off, let it be cut off; and let those who are left eat each other’s flesh.” [10] I took my staff Favor and cut it apart, that I might break my covenant that I had made with all the peoples. [11] It was broken in that day; and thus the poor of the flock that listened to me knew that it was Yahweh’s word. [12] I said to them, “If you think it best, give me my wages; and if not, keep them.” So they weighed for my wages thirty pieces of silver. [13] Yahweh said to me, “Throw it to the potter—the handsome price that I was valued at by them!” I took the thirty pieces of silver and threw them to the potter in Yahweh’s house. [14] Then I cut apart my other staff, Union, that I might break the brotherhood between Judah and Israel. [15] Yahweh said to me, “Take for yourself yet again the equipment of a foolish shepherd. [16] For, behold, I will raise up a shepherd in the land who will not visit those who are cut off, neither will seek those who are scattered, nor heal that which is broken, nor feed that which is sound; but he will eat the meat of the fat sheep, and will tear their hoofs in pieces. [17] Woe to the worthless shepherd who leaves the flock! The sword will strike his arm and his right eye. His arm will be completely withered, and his right eye will be totally blinded!”
King James Version

Their Glory is Spoiled

[1] Open H6605 (QalImpv) thy doors, H1817 O Lebanon, H3844 that the fire H784 may devour H398 (QalImpf) thy cedars. H730
[2] Howl, H3213 (HiphImpv) fir tree; H1265 for the cedar H730 is fallen; H5307 (QalPerf) because the mighty H117§ are spoiled: H7703 (PualPerf) howl, H3213 (HiphImpv) O ye oaks H437 of Bashan; H1316 for the forest H3293 of the vintage H1208 (Qere)§ is come down. H3381 (QalPerf) [3] There is a voice H6963 of the howling H3215 of the shepherds; H7462 (QalActPtc) for their glory H155 is spoiled: H7703 (PualPerf) a voice H6963 of the roaring H7581 of young lions; H3715 for the pride H1347 of Jordan H3383 is spoiled. H7703 (PualPerf) [4] Thus saith H559 (QalPerf) the Lord H3068 my God; H430 Feed H7462 (QalImpv) the flock H6629 of the slaughter; H2028 [5] whose possessors H7069 (QalActPtc) slay H2026 (QalImpf) them, and hold themselves not guilty: H816 (QalImpf) and they that sell H4376 (QalActPtc) them say, H559 (QalImpf) Blessed H1288 (QalPasPtc) be the Lord; H3068 for I am rich: H6238 (HiphImpf) and their own shepherds H7462 (QalActPtc) pity H2550 (QalImpf) them not. [6] For I will no more pity H2550 (QalImpf) the inhabitants H3427 (QalActPtc) of the land, H776 saith H5002 (QalPasPtc) the Lord: H3068 but, lo, I will deliver H4672 (HiphPtc)§ the men H120 every one H376 into his neighbour’s H7453 hand, H3027 and into the hand H3027 of his king: H4428 and they shall smite H3807 (PielPerf) the land, H776 and out of their hand H3027 I will not deliver H5337 (HiphImpf) them. [7] And I will feed H7462 (QalImpf) the flock H6629 of slaughter, H2028 even you, H3651 O poor H6041§ of the flock. H6629 And I took H3947 (QalImpf) unto me two H8147 staves; H4731 the one H259 I called H7121 (QalPerf) Beauty, H5278 and the other H259 I called H7121 (QalPerf) Bands; H2254 (QalActPtc)§ and I fed H7462 (QalImpf) the flock. H6629 [8] Three H7969 shepherds H7462 (QalActPtc) also I cut off H3582 (HiphImpf) in one H259 month; H3391 and my soul H5315 lothed H7114 (QalImpf) them,§ and their soul H5315 also abhorred H973 (QalPerf) me. [9] Then said H559 (QalImpf) I, I will not feed H7462 (QalImpf) you: that that dieth, H4191 (QalPtc) let it die; H4191 (QalImpf) and that that is to be cut off, H3582 (NiphPtc) let it be cut off; H3582 (NiphImpf) and let the rest H7604 (NiphPtc) eat H398 (QalImpf) every one H802 the flesh H1320 of another. H7468§ [10] And I took H3947 (QalImpf) my staff, H4731 even Beauty, H5278 and cut it asunder, H1438 (QalImpf) that I might break H6565 (HiphInf) my covenant H1285 which I had made H3772 (QalPerf) with all the people. H5971 [11] And it was broken H6565 (HophImpf) in that day: H3117 and so the poor H6041 of the flock H6629 that waited H8104 (QalActPtc) upon me knew H3045 (QalImpf) that it was the word H1697 of the Lord. H3068 [12] And I said H559 (QalImpf) unto them, If ye think H5869 good, H2896§ give H3051 (QalImpv) me my price; H7939 and if not, forbear. H2308 (QalImpv) So they weighed H8254 (QalImpf) for my price H7939 thirty H7970 pieces of silver. H3701 [13] And the Lord H3068 said H559 (QalImpf) unto me, Cast H7993 (HiphImpv) it unto the potter: H3335 (QalActPtc) a goodly H145 price H3366 that I was prised at H3365 (QalPerf) of them. And I took H3947 (QalImpf) the thirty H7970 pieces of silver, H3701 and cast H7993 (HiphImpf) them to the potter H3335 (QalActPtc) in the house H1004 of the Lord. H3068 [14] Then I cut asunder H1438 (QalImpf) mine other H8145 staff, H4731 even Bands,§ H2254 (QalActPtc) that I might break H6565 (HiphInf) the brotherhood H264 between Judah H3063 and Israel. H3478 [15] And the Lord H3068 said H559 (QalImpf) unto me, Take H3947 (QalImpv) unto thee yet the instruments H3627 of a foolish H196 shepherd. H7462 (QalActPtc) [16] For, lo, I will raise up H6965 (HiphPtc) a shepherd H7462 (QalActPtc) in the land, H776 which shall not visit H6485 (QalImpf) those that be cut off, H3582 (NiphPtc)§ neither shall seek H1245 (PielImpf) the young one, H5289 nor heal H7495 (PielImpf) that that is broken, H7665 (NiphPtc) nor feed H3557 (PilpImpf)§ that that standeth H5324 (NiphPtc) still: but he shall eat H398 (QalImpf) the flesh H1320 of the fat, H1277 and tear H6561 their claws H6541 in pieces. H6561 (PielImpf) [17] Woe H1945 to the idol H457 shepherd H7473 that leaveth H5800 (QalActPtc) the flock! H6629 the sword H2719 shall be upon his arm, H2220 and upon his right H3225 eye: H5869 his arm H2220 shall be clean H3001 (QalInf) dried up, H3001 (QalImpf) and his right H3225 eye H5869 shall be utterly H3543 (QalInf) darkened. H3543 (QalImpf)
