ταυτα εχων εν σεαυτω οιδα οτι παντα δυνασαι αδυνατει δε σοι ουθεν

that he would show you the secrets of wisdom! For true wisdom has two sides. Know therefore that God exacts of you less than your iniquity deserves.

ειτα αναγγελει σοι δυναμιν σοφιας οτι διπλους εσται των κατα σε και τοτε γνωση οτι αξια σοι απεβη απο κυριου ων ημαρτηκας

For he knows false men. He sees iniquity also, even though he doesn’t consider it.

αυτος γαρ οιδεν εργα ανομων ιδων δε ατοπα ου παροψεται

Surely then you will lift up your face without spot. Yes, you will be steadfast, and will not fear,

for you will forget your misery. You will remember it like waters that have passed away.

και τον κοπον επιληση ωσπερ κυμα παρελθον και ου πτοηθηση

You will be secure, because there is hope. Yes, you will search, and will take your rest in safety.

πεποιθως τε εση οτι εστιν σοι ελπις εκ δε μεριμνης και φροντιδος αναφανειται σοι ειρηνη

“No doubt, but you are the people, and wisdom will die with you.

Who doesn’t know that in all these, Yahweh’s hand has done this,

τις ουκ εγνω εν πασι τουτοις οτι χειρ κυριου εποιησεν ταυτα

Is it good that he should search you out? Or as one deceives a man, will you deceive him?

καλον γε εαν εξιχνιαση υμας ει γαρ τα παντα ποιουντες προστεθησεσθε αυτω

This also will be my salvation, that a godless man will not come before him.

See now, I have set my cause in order. I know that I am righteous.

“For there is hope for a tree if it is cut down, that it will sprout again, that the tender branch of it will not cease.

For your iniquity teaches your mouth, and you choose the language of the crafty.

Job 15:5 Heb. teacheth

ενοχος ει ρημασιν στοματος σου ουδε διεκρινας ρηματα δυναστων

that you turn your spirit against God, and let such words go out of your mouth?
