Joshua 5:2 Or, knives of flints

υπο δε τουτον τον καιρον ειπεν κυριος τω ιησοι ποιησον σεαυτω μαχαιρας πετρινας εκ πετρας ακροτομου και καθισας περιτεμε τους υιους ισραηλ

Joshua made himself flint knives, and circumcised the sons of Israel at the hill of the foreskins.

και εποιησεν ιησους μαχαιρας πετρινας ακροτομους και περιετεμεν τους υιους ισραηλ επι του καλουμενου τοπου βουνος των ακροβυστιων

When Joshua was by Jericho, he lifted up his eyes and looked, and behold, a man stood in front of him with his sword drawn in his hand. Joshua went to him and said to him, “Are you for us, or for our enemies?”

και εγενετο ως ην ιησους εν ιεριχω και αναβλεψας τοις οφθαλμοις ειδεν ανθρωπον εστηκοτα εναντιον αυτου και η ρομφαια εσπασμενη εν τη χειρι αυτου και προσελθων ιησους ειπεν αυτω ημετερος ει η των υπεναντιων

They utterly destroyed all that was in the city, both man and woman, both young and old, and ox, sheep, and donkey, with the edge of the sword.

και ανεθεματισεν αυτην ιησους και οσα ην εν τη πολει απο ανδρος και εως γυναικος απο νεανισκου και εως πρεσβυτου και εως μοσχου και υποζυγιου εν στοματι ρομφαιας

και ως επαυσαντο οι υιοι ισραηλ αποκτεννοντες παντας τους εν τη γαι τους εν τοις πεδιοις και εν τω ορει επι της καταβασεως ου κατεδιωξαν αυτους απ αυτης εις τελος και απεστρεψεν ιησους εις γαι και επαταξεν αυτην εν στοματι ρομφαιας

As they fled from before Israel, while they were at the descent of Beth Horon, Yahweh hurled down great stones from the sky on them to Azekah, and they died. There were more who died from the hailstones than those whom the children of Israel killed with the sword.

εν τω δε φευγειν αυτους απο προσωπου των υιων ισραηλ επι της καταβασεως ωρωνιν και κυριος επερριψεν αυτοις λιθους χαλαζης εκ του ουρανου εως αζηκα και εγενοντο πλειους οι αποθανοντες δια τους λιθους της χαλαζης η ους απεκτειναν οι υιοι ισραηλ μαχαιρα εν τω πολεμω

Joshua took Makkedah on that day, and struck it with the edge of the sword, with its king. He utterly destroyed it and all the souls who were in it. He left no one remaining. He did to the king of Makkedah as he had done to the king of Jericho.

And that day H3117 Joshua H3091 took H3920 (QalPerf) Makkedah, H4719 and smote H5221 (HiphImpf) it with the edge H6310 of the sword, H2719 and the king H4428 thereof he utterly destroyed, H2763 (HiphPerf) them, and all the souls H5315 that were therein; he let H7604 (HiphPerf) none remain: H8300 and he did H6213 (QalImpf) to the king H4428 of Makkedah H4719 as he did H6213 (QalPerf) unto the king H4428 of Jericho. και την μακηδα ελαβοσαν εν τη ημερα εκεινη και εφονευσαν αυτην εν στοματι ξιφους και εξωλεθρευσαν παν εμπνεον εν αυτη και ου κατελειφθη εν αυτη ουδεις διασεσωσμενος και διαπεφευγως και εποιησαν τω βασιλει μακηδα ον τροπον εποιησαν τω βασιλει ιεριχω

Yahweh delivered it also, with its king, into the hand of Israel. He struck it with the edge of the sword, and all the souls who were in it. He left no one remaining in it. He did to its king as he had done to the king of Jericho.

and the Lord H3068 delivered H5414 (QalImpf) it also, and the king H4428 thereof, into the hand H3027 of Israel; H3478 and he smote H5221 (HiphImpf) it with the edge H6310 of the sword, H2719 and all the souls H5315 that were therein; he let H7604 (HiphPerf) none remain H8300 in it; but did H6213 (QalImpf) unto the king H4428 thereof as he did H6213 (QalPerf) unto the king H4428 of Jericho. Yahweh delivered Lachish into the hand of Israel. He took it on the second day, and struck it with the edge of the sword, with all the souls who were in it, according to all that he had done to Libnah.

and the Lord H3068 delivered H5414 (QalImpf) Lachish H3923 into the hand H3027 of Israel, H3478 which took H3920 (QalImpf) it on the second H8145 day, H3117 and smote H5221 (HiphImpf) it with the edge H6310 of the sword, H2719 and all the souls H5315 that were therein, according to all that he had done H6213 (QalPerf) to Libnah. και παρεδωκεν κυριος την λαχις εις τας χειρας ισραηλ και ελαβεν αυτην εν τη ημερα τη δευτερα και εφονευσαν αυτην εν στοματι ξιφους και εξωλεθρευσαν αυτην ον τροπον εποιησαν την λεβνα

They took it on that day, and struck it with the edge of the sword. He utterly destroyed all the souls who were in it that day, according to all that he had done to Lachish.

They took it, and struck it with the edge of the sword, with its king and all its cities, and all the souls who were in it. He left no one remaining, according to all that he had done to Eglon; but he utterly destroyed it, and all the souls who were in it.

and they took H3920 (QalImpf) it, and smote H5221 (HiphImpf) it with the edge H6310 of the sword, H2719 and the king H4428 thereof, and all the cities H5892 thereof, and all the souls H5315 that were therein; he left H7604 (HiphPerf) none remaining, H8300 according to all that he had done H6213 (QalPerf) to Eglon; H5700 but destroyed H2763 (HiphImpf) it utterly, and all the souls H5315 that were therein.

και επαταξεν αυτην εν στοματι ξιφους και παν εμπνεον οσα ην εν αυτη ουκ ην διασεσωσμενος ον τροπον εποιησαν την οδολλαμ εξωλεθρευσαν αυτην και οσα ην εν αυτη

He took it, with its king and all its cities. They struck them with the edge of the sword, and utterly destroyed all the souls who were in it. He left no one remaining. As he had done to Hebron, so he did to Debir, and to its king; as he had done also to Libnah, and to its king.

ελαβον αυτην και τον βασιλεα αυτης και τας κωμας αυτης και επαταξαν αυτην εν στοματι ξιφους και εξωλεθρευσαν αυτην και παν εμπνεον εν αυτη και ου κατελιπον αυτη ουδενα διασεσωσμενον ον τροπον εποιησαν την χεβρων και τω βασιλει αυτης ουτως εποιησαν τη δαβιρ και τω βασιλει αυτης

Joshua turned back at that time, and took Hazor, and struck its king with the sword; for Hazor used to be the head of all those kingdoms.

And Joshua H3091 at that time H6256 turned back, H7725 (QalImpf) and took H3920 (QalImpf) Hazor, H2674 and smote H5221 (HiphPerf) the king H4428 thereof with the sword: H2719 for Hazor H2674 beforetime H6440 was the head H7218 of all those kingdoms. H4467
