“I will seek that which was lost, and will bring back that which was driven away, and will bind up that which was broken, and will strengthen that which was sick; but I will destroy the fat and the strong. I will feed them in justice.” ’

The lost I seek, and the driven away bring back, And the broken I bind up, and the sick I strengthen, And the fat and the strong I destroy, I feed it with judgment.

Thus I will make Mount Seir an astonishment and a desolation. I will cut off from it him who passes through and him who returns.

And I have given mount Seir for a desolation and an astonishment, And have cut off from it him who is passing over and him who is returning,

I will make you a perpetual desolation, and your cities will not be inhabited. Then you will know that I am Yahweh.

Desolations age-during I make thee, And thy cities do not return, And ye have known that I am Jehovah.

I will turn you around, and put hooks into your jaws, and I will bring you out, with all your army, horses and horsemen, all of them clothed in full armor, a great company with buckler and shield, all of them handling swords;

And I have turned thee back, And I have put hooks in thy jaws, And have brought thee out, and all thy force, Horses and horsemen, Clothed in perfection all of them, A numerous assembly, with buckler and shield, Handling swords-all of them.

After many days you will be visited. In the latter years you will come into the land that is brought back from the sword, that is gathered out of many peoples, on the mountains of Israel, which have been a continual waste; but it is brought out of the peoples and they will dwell securely, all of them.

After many days thou art appointed, In the latter end of the years thou comest in unto a land brought back from sword, A people gathered out of many peoples, Upon mountains of Israel, That have been for a perpetual waste, And it from the peoples hath been brought out, And dwelt safely have all of them.

to take the plunder and to take prey; to turn your hand against the waste places that are inhabited, and against the people who are gathered out of the nations, who have gotten livestock and goods, who dwell in the middle of the earth.’

To take a spoil, and to take a prey, To turn back thy hand on inhabited wastes, And on a people gathered out of nations, Making cattle and substance, Dwelling on a high part of the land.

I will turn you around, will lead you on, and will cause you to come up from the uttermost parts of the north; and I will bring you onto the mountains of Israel.

And I will turn thee back, H7725 (PolePerf) and leave but the sixth part H8338 (PielPerf) of thee, and will cause thee to come up H5927 (HiphPerf) from the north H6828 parts, H3411 and will bring H935 (HiphPerf) thee upon the mountains H2022 of Israel: H3478

And have turned thee back, and enticed thee, And caused thee to come up from the sides of the north, And brought thee in against mountains of Israel,

“Therefore the Lord Yahweh says: ‘Now I will reverse the captivity of Jacob and have mercy on the whole house of Israel. I will be jealous for my holy name.

Therefore, thus said the Lord Jehovah: Now do I bring back the captivity of Jacob, And I have pitied all the house of Israel, And have been zealous for My holy name.

when I have brought them back from the peoples, gathered them out of their enemies’ lands, and am shown holy among them in the sight of many nations.

When I have brought them again H7725 (PoleInf) from the people, H5971 and gathered H6908 (PielPerf) them out of their enemies’ H341 (QalActPtc) lands, H776 and am sanctified H6942 (NiphPerf) in them in the sight H5869 of many H7227 nations; H1471

In My bringing them back from the peoples, I have assembled them from the lands of their enemies, And I have been sanctified in them before the eyes of the many nations,

Then he brought me back by the way of the outer gate of the sanctuary, which looks toward the east; and it was shut.

Then he brought me back H7725 (HiphImpf) the way H1870 of the gate H8179 of the outward H2435 sanctuary H4720 which looketh H6437 (QalActPtc) toward the east; H6921 and it [was] shut. H5462 (QalPasPtc)

And he causeth me to turn back the way of the gate of the outer sanctuary that is looking eastward, and it is shut.

“ ‘ “But when the people of the land come before Yahweh in the appointed feasts, he who enters by the way of the north gate to worship shall go out by the way of the south gate; and he who enters by the way of the south gate shall go out by the way of the north gate. He shall not return by the way of the gate by which he came in, but shall go out straight before him.

And in the coming in of the people of the land before Jehovah at appointed times, he who hath come in the way of the north gate to bow himself, goeth out the way of the south gate, and he who hath come in the way of the south gate, goeth out by the way of the north gate: he doth not turn back the way of the gate by which he came in, but over-against it he goeth out.

But if he gives of his inheritance a gift to one of his servants, it shall be his to the year of liberty; then it shall return to the prince; but as for his inheritance, it shall be for his sons.

He brought me back to the door of the temple; and behold, waters flowed out from under the threshold of the temple eastward, for the front of the temple faced toward the east. The waters came down from underneath, from the right side of the temple, on the south of the altar.

And he causeth me to turn back unto the opening of the house; and lo, water is coming forth from under the threshold of the house eastward, for the front of the house is eastward, and the water is coming down from beneath, from the right side of the house, from the south of the altar.

He said to me, “Son of man, have you seen this?” Then he brought me and caused me to return to the bank of the river.

And he saith unto me, ‘Hast thou seen, son of man?’ and he leadeth me, and bringeth me back unto the edge of the stream.

Now when I had returned, behold, on the bank of the river were very many trees on the one side and on the other.

In my turning back, then, lo, at the edge of the stream are very many trees, on this side and on that side.

As it is written in the law of Moses, all this evil has come on us. Yet we have not entreated the favor of Yahweh our God, that we should turn from our iniquities and have discernment in your truth.

As [it is] written H3789 (QalPasPtc) in the law H8451 of Moses, H4872 all this evil H7451 is come H935 (QalPerf) upon us: yet made we not our prayer H2470 (PielPerf) before H6440 the Lord H3068 our God, H430 that we might turn H7725 (QalInf) from our iniquities, H5771 and understand H7919 (HiphInf) thy truth. as it is written in the law of Moses, all this evil hath come upon us, and we have not appeased the face of Jehovah our God to turn back from our iniquities, and to act wisely in Thy truth.

Lord, according to all your righteousness, please let your anger and your wrath be turned away from your city Jerusalem, your holy mountain; because for our sins and for the iniquities of our fathers, Jerusalem and your people have become a reproach to all who are around us.

O Lord, H136 according to all thy righteousness, H6666 I beseech thee, let thine anger H639 and thy fury H2534 be turned away H7725 (QalImpf) from thy city H5892 Jerusalem, H3389 thy holy H6944 mountain: H2022 because for our sins, H2399 and for the iniquities H5771 of our fathers, H1 Jerusalem H3389 and thy people H5971 [are become] a reproach H2781 to all [that are] about H5439 us.

‘O Lord, according to all Thy righteous acts, let turn back, I pray Thee, Thine anger and Thy fury from Thy city Jerusalem, Thy holy mount, for by our sins, and by the iniquities of our fathers, Jerusalem and Thy people are for a reproach to all our neighbours;

“Know therefore and discern that from the going out of the commandment to restore and build Jerusalem to the Anointed One,^§ the prince, will be seven weeks and sixty-two weeks. It will be built again, with street and moat, even in troubled times.

Daniel 9:25 “Anointed One” can also be translated “Messiah” (same as “Christ”).

And thou dost know, and dost consider wisely, from the going forth of the word to restore and to build Jerusalem till Messiah the Leader is seven weeks, and sixty and two weeks: the broad place hath been built again, and the rampart, even in the distress of the times.

Then he said, “Do you know why I have come to you? Now I will return to fight with the prince of Persia. When I go out, behold, the prince of Greece will come.

Then said H559 (QalImpf) he, Knowest H3045 (QalPerf) thou wherefore I come H935 (QalPerf) unto thee? and now will I return H7725 (QalImpf) to fight H3898 (NiphInf) with the prince H8269 of Persia: H6539 and when I am gone forth, H3318 (QalActPtc) lo, the prince H8269 of Grecia H3120 shall come. And he saith, Hast thou known why I have come unto thee? and now I turn back to fight with the head of Persia; yea, I am going forth, and lo, the head of Javan hath come;

He will come into the realm of the king of the south, but he will return into his own land.

So the king H4428 of the south H5045 shall come H935 (QalPerf) into [his] kingdom, H4438 and shall return H7725 (QalPerf) into his own land. H127

‘And the king of the south hath come into the kingdom, and turned back unto his own land;

His sons will wage war, and will assemble a multitude of great forces which will come on, and overflow, and pass through. They will return and wage war, even to his fortress.

and his sons stir themselves up, and have gathered a multitude of great forces, and he hath certainly come in, and overflowed, and passed through, and he turneth back, and they stir themselves up unto his stronghold.

The king of the north will return, and will send out a multitude greater than the former. He will come on at the end of the times, even of years, with a great army and with abundant supplies.

For the king H4428 of the north H6828 shall return, H7725 (QalPerf) and shall set forth H5975 (HiphPerf) a multitude H1995 greater H7227 than the former, H7223 and shall certainly H935 (QalInf) come H935 (QalImpf) after H7093 certain H6256 years H8141 with a great H1419 army H2428 and with much H7227 riches. ‘And the king of the north hath turned back, and hath caused a multitude to stand, greater than the first, and at the end of the times a second time he doth certainly come in with a great force, and with much substance;

After this he will turn his face to the islands, and will take many, but a prince will cause the reproach offered by him to cease. Yes, moreover, he will cause his reproach to turn on him.

After this shall he turn H7760 (QalImpf) (Qere) H7725 (HiphImpf) his face H6440 unto the isles, H339 and shall take H3920 (QalPerf) many: H7227 but a prince H7101 for his own behalf shall cause the reproach H2781 offered by him to cease; H7673 (HiphPerf) without H1115 his own reproach H2781 he shall cause [it] to turn H7725 (HiphImpf) upon him.

‘And he turneth back his face to the isles, and hath captured many; and a prince hath caused his reproach of himself to cease; without his reproach he turneth it back to him.

Then he will turn his face toward the fortresses of his own land; but he will stumble and fall, and won’t be found.

Then he shall turn H7725 (HiphImpf) his face H6440 toward the fort H4581 of his own land: H776 but he shall stumble H3782 (NiphPerf) and fall, H5307 (QalPerf) and not be found. H4672 (NiphImpf)

And he turneth back his face to the strongholds of his land, and hath stumbled and fallen, and is not found.

Then he will return into his land with great wealth. His heart will be against the holy covenant. He will take action, and return to his own land.

Then shall he return H7725 (QalPerf) into his land H776 with great H1419 riches; H7399 and his heart H3824 [shall be] against the holy H6944 covenant; H1285 and he shall do H6213 (QalPerf) [exploits], and return H7725 (QalImpf) to his own land. H776

And he turneth back to his land with great substance, and his heart is against the holy covenant, and he hath wrought, and turned back to his land.

“He will return at the appointed time and come into the south; but it won’t be in the latter time as it was in the former.

At the time appointed H4150 he shall return, H7725 (QalImpf) and come H935 (QalPerf) toward the south; H5045 but it shall not be as the former, H7223 or as the latter. H314

At the appointed time he turneth back, and hath come against the south, and it is not as the former, and as the latter.

For ships of Kittim will come against him. Therefore he will be grieved, and will return, and have indignation against the holy covenant, and will take action. He will even return, and have regard to those who forsake the holy covenant.

And ships of Chittim have come in against him, and he hath been pained, and hath turned back, and hath been insolent toward the holy covenant, and hath wrought, and turned back, and he understandeth concerning those forsaking the holy covenant.

She will follow after her lovers, but she won’t overtake them; and she will seek them, but won’t find them. Then she will say, ‘I will go and return to my first husband, for then it was better with me than now.’

And she hath pursued her lovers, And she doth not overtake them, And hath sought them, and doth not find, And she hath said: I go, and I turn back unto My first husband, For-better to me then than now.

Therefore I will take back my grain in its time, and my new wine in its season, and will pluck away my wool and my flax which should have covered her nakedness.

Therefore do I turn back, And I have taken My corn in its season, And My new wine in its appointed time, And I have taken away My wool and My flax, covering her nakedness.

Afterward the children of Israel shall return and seek Yahweh their God, and David their king, and shall come with trembling to Yahweh and to his blessings in the last days.

Afterward H310 shall the children H1121 of Israel H3478 return, H7725 (QalImpf) and seek H1245 (PielPerf) the Lord H3068 their God, H430 and David H1732 their king; H4428 and shall fear H6342 (QalPerf) the Lord H3068 and his goodness H2898 in the latter H319 days. H3117

Afterwards turned back have the sons of Israel, and sought Jehovah their God, and David their king, and have hastened unto Jehovah, and unto His goodness, in the latter end of the days.

It will be like people, like priest; and I will punish them for their ways, and will repay them for their deeds.

And there shall be, like people, H5971 like priest: H3548 and I will punish H6485 (QalPerf) them for their ways, H1870 and reward H7725 (HiphImpf) them their doings. H4611

And it hath been, like people, like priest, And I have charged on it its ways, And its habitual doings I return to it.

Their deeds won’t allow them to turn to their God, for the spirit of prostitution is within them, and they don’t know Yahweh.

They will not frame H5414 (QalImpf) their doings H4611 to turn H7725 (QalInf) unto their God: H430 for the spirit H7307 of whoredoms H2183 [is] in the midst H7130 of them, and they have not known H3045 (QalPerf) the Lord. H3068

They give not up their habitual doings, To turn back unto their God, For a spirit of whoredoms is in their midst, And Jehovah they have not known.

I will go and return to my place, until they acknowledge their offense, and seek my face. In their affliction they will seek me earnestly.”

I will go H3212 (QalImpf) [and] return H7725 (QalImpf) to my place, H4725 till they acknowledge their offence, H816 (QalImpf) and seek H1245 (PielPerf) my face: H6440 in their affliction H6862 they will seek me early. H7836 (PielImpf)

I go-I turn back unto My place, Till that they are desolate, and have sought My face. In their distress they do seek Me speedily!’

“Come! Let’s return to Yahweh; for he has torn us to pieces, and he will heal us; he has injured us, and he will bind up our wounds.

Come, H3212 (QalImpv) and let us return H7725 (QalImpf) unto the Lord: H3068 for he hath torn, H2963 (QalPerf) and he will heal H7495 (QalImpf) us; he hath smitten, H5221 (HiphImpf) and he will bind us up. H2280 (QalImpf)

‘Come, and we turn back unto Jehovah, For He hath torn, and He doth heal us, He doth smite, and He bindeth us up.

“Also, Judah, there is a harvest appointed for you, when I restore the fortunes of my people.

Also, O Judah, H3063 he hath set H7896 (QalPerf) an harvest H7105 for thee, when I returned H7725 (QalInf) the captivity H7622 of my people. H5971

Also, O Judah, appointed is a harvest to thee, In My turning back to the captivity of My people!

The pride of Israel testifies to his face; yet they haven’t returned to Yahweh their God, nor sought him, for all this.

And the pride H1347 of Israel H3478 testifieth H6030 (QalPerf) to his face: H6440 and they do not return H7725 (QalPerf) to the Lord H3068 their God, H430 nor seek H1245 (PielPerf) him for all this.

And humbled hath been the excellency of Israel to his face, And they have not turned back unto Jehovah their God, Nor have they sought Him for all this.

They return, but not to the Most High. They are like a faulty bow. Their princes will fall by the sword for the rage of their tongue. This will be their derision in the land of Egypt.

They return, H7725 (QalImpf) [but] not to the most High: H5920 they are like a deceitful H7423 bow: H7198 their princes H8269 shall fall H5307 (QalImpf) by the sword H2719 for the rage H2195 of their tongue: H3956 this H2097 [shall be] their derision H3933 in the land H776 of Egypt. H4714

They turn back-not to the Most High, They have been as a deceitful bow, Fall by sword do their princes, From the insolence of their tongue, This is their derision in the land of Egypt!

As for the sacrifices of my offerings, they sacrifice meat and eat it, but Yahweh doesn’t accept them. Now he will remember their iniquity, and punish their sins. They will return to Egypt.

They sacrifice H2076 (QalImpf) flesh H1320 [for] the sacrifices H2077 of mine offerings, H1890 and eat H398 (QalImpf) [it; but] the Lord H3068 accepteth H7521 (QalPerf) them not; now will he remember H2142 (QalImpf) their iniquity, H5771 and visit H6485 (QalImpf) their sins: H2403 they shall return H7725 (QalImpf) to Egypt. The sacrifices of Mine offerings! They sacrifice flesh, and they eat, Jehovah hath not accepted them, Now doth He remember their iniquity, And inspect their sin, They-to Egypt they turn back.

They won’t dwell in Yahweh’s land; but Ephraim will return to Egypt, and they will eat unclean food in Assyria.

They shall not dwell H3427 (QalImpf) in the Lord’s H3068 land; H776 but Ephraim H669 shall return H7725 (QalPerf) to Egypt, H4714 and they shall eat H398 (QalImpf) unclean H2931 [things] in Assyria. H804

They do not abide in the land of Jehovah, And turned back hath Ephraim to Egypt, And in Asshur an unclean thing they eat.

“They won’t return into the land of Egypt; but the Assyrian will be their king, because they refused to repent.

He shall not return H7725 (QalImpf) into the land H776 of Egypt, H4714 but the Assyrian H804 shall be his king, H4428 because they refused H3985 (PielPerf) to return. H7725 (QalInf)

He turneth not back unto the land of Egypt, And Asshur-he is his king, For they have refused to return.

I will not execute the fierceness of my anger. I will not return to destroy Ephraim, for I am God, and not man—the Holy One among you. I will not come in wrath.

I do not the fierceness of My anger, I turn not back to destroy Ephraim, For God I am, and not a man. In thy midst the Holy One, and I enter not in enmity,

Yahweh also has a controversy with Judah, and will punish Jacob according to his ways; according to his deeds he will repay him.

And a controversy hath Jehovah with Judah, To lay a charge on Jacob according to his ways, According to his doings He returneth to him.

Therefore turn to your God. Keep kindness and justice, and wait continually for your God.

And rend your heart, and not your garments, And turn back unto Jehovah your God, For gracious and merciful is He, Slow to anger, and abundant in kindness, And He hath repented concerning the evil.
