Joseph gathered up all the money that was found in the land of Egypt, and in the land of Canaan, for the grain which they bought: and Joseph brought the money into Pharaoh’s house.

They said, “You have saved our lives! Let us find favor in the sight of my lord, and we will be Pharaoh’s servants.”

και ειπαν σεσωκας ημας ευρομεν χαριν εναντιον του κυριου ημων και εσομεθα παιδες φαραω

The time came near that Israel must die, and he called his son Joseph, and said to him, “If now I have found favor in your sight, please put your hand under my thigh, and deal kindly and truly with me. Please don’t bury me in Egypt,

When the days of weeping for him were past, Joseph spoke to Pharaoh’s staff, saying, “If now I have found favor in your eyes, please speak in the ears of Pharaoh, saying,

επειδη δε παρηλθον αι ημεραι του πενθους ελαλησεν ιωσηφ προς τους δυναστας φαραω λεγων ει ευρον χαριν εναντιον υμων λαλησατε περι εμου εις τα ωτα φαραω λεγοντες

Go yourselves, get straw where you can find it, for nothing of your work shall be diminished.’”

αυτοι υμεις πορευομενοι συλλεγετε εαυτοις αχυρα οθεν εαν ευρητε ου γαρ αφαιρειται απο της συνταξεως υμων ουθεν

Now therefore command that all of your livestock and all that you have in the field be brought into shelter. The hail will come down on every man and animal that is found in the field, and isn’t brought home, and they will die.”’”

Moses led Israel onward from the Red Sea, and they went out into the wilderness of Shur; and they went three days in the wilderness, and found no water.

Moses said, “Eat that today, for today is a Sabbath to Yahweh. Today you shall not find it in the field.

On the seventh day, some of the people went out to gather, and they found none.

And it came to pass, that there went out H3318 (QalPerf) some of the people H5971 on the seventh H7637 day H3117 for to gather, H3950 (QalInf) and they found H4672 (QalPerf) none.

εγενετο δε εν τη ημερα τη εβδομη εξηλθοσαν τινες εκ του λαου συλλεξαι και ουχ ευρον

Moses told his father-in-law all that Yahweh had done to Pharaoh and to the Egyptians for Israel’s sake, all the hardships that had come on them on the way, and how Yahweh delivered them.

If the thief is found breaking in, and is struck so that he dies, there shall be no guilt of bloodshed for him.

If the stolen property is found in his hand alive, whether it is ox, donkey, or sheep, he shall pay double.

If the theft H1591 be certainly H4672 (NiphInf) found H4672 (NiphImpf) in his hand H3027 alive, H2416 whether it be ox, H7794 or ass, H2543 or sheep; H7716 he shall restore H7999 (PielImpf) double. H8147

^[22:3] εαν δε καταλημφθη και ευρεθη εν τη χειρι αυτου το κλεμμα απο τε ονου εως προβατου ζωντα διπλα αυτα αποτεισει

“If fire breaks out, and catches in thorns so that the shocks of grain, or the standing grain, or the field are consumed; he who kindled the fire shall surely make restitution.

“If a man delivers to his neighbor money or stuff to keep, and it is stolen out of the man’s house, if the thief is found, he shall pay double.

If the thief isn’t found, then the master of the house shall come near to God, to find out whether or not he has put his hand on his neighbor’s goods.

If the thief H1590 be not H3808 found, H4672 (NiphImpf) then the master H1167 of the house H1004 shall be brought H7126 (NiphPerf) unto the judges, H430 to see whether he have put H7971 (QalPerf) his hand H3027 unto his neighbour’s H7453 goods. H4399

Moses said to Yahweh, “Behold, you tell me, ‘Bring up this people;’ and you haven’t let me know whom you will send with me. Yet you have said, ‘I know you by name, and you have also found favor in my sight.’

And Moses H4872 said H559 (QalImpf) unto the Lord, H3068 See, H7200 (QalImpv) thou sayest H559 (QalActPtc) unto me, Bring up H5927 (HiphImpv) this people: H5971 and thou hast not let me know H3045 (HiphPerf) whom thou wilt send H7971 (QalImpf) with me. και ειπεν μωυσης προς κυριον ιδου συ μοι λεγεις αναγαγε τον λαον τουτον συ δε ουκ εδηλωσας μοι ον συναποστελεις μετ εμου συ δε μοι ειπας οιδα σε παρα παντας και χαριν εχεις παρ εμοι

Now therefore, if I have found favor in your sight, please show me your way, now, that I may know you, so that I may find favor in your sight; and consider that this nation is your people.”

Now therefore, I pray thee, if I have found H4672 (QalPerf) grace H2580 in thy sight, H5869 shew H3045 (HiphImpv) me now thy way, H1870 that I may know H3045 (QalImpf) thee, that I may find H4672 (QalImpf) grace H2580 in thy sight: H5869 and consider H7200 (QalImpv) that this nation H1471 is thy people. H5971

ει ουν ευρηκα χαριν εναντιον σου εμφανισον μοι σεαυτον γνωστως ιδω σε οπως αν ω ευρηκως χαριν εναντιον σου και ινα γνω οτι λαος σου το εθνος το μεγα τουτο

For how would people know that I have found favor in your sight, I and your people? Isn’t it that you go with us, so that we are separated, I and your people, from all the people who are on the surface of the earth?”

For wherein shall it be known H3045 (NiphImpf) here H645 that I and thy people H5971 have found H4672 (QalPerf) grace H2580 in thy sight? H5869 is it not in that thou goest H3212 (QalInf) with us? so shall we be separated, H6395 (NiphPerf) I and thy people, H5971 from all the people H5971 that are upon the face H6440 of the earth. και πως γνωστον εσται αληθως οτι ευρηκα χαριν παρα σοι εγω τε και ο λαος σου αλλ η συμπορευομενου σου μεθ ημων και ενδοξασθησομαι εγω τε και ο λαος σου παρα παντα τα εθνη οσα επι της γης εστιν

Yahweh said to Moses, “I will do this thing also that you have spoken; for you have found favor in my sight, and I know you by name.”

και ειπεν κυριος προς μωυσην και τουτον σοι τον λογον ον ειρηκας ποιησω ευρηκας γαρ χαριν ενωπιον μου και οιδα σε παρα παντας

He said, “If now I have found favor in your sight, Lord, please let the Lord go among us, even though this is a stiff-necked people; pardon our iniquity and our sin, and take us for your inheritance.”

And he said, H559 (QalImpf) If now I have found H4672 (QalPerf) grace H2580 in thy sight, H5869 O Lord, H136 let my Lord, H136 I pray thee, go H3212 (QalImpf) among H7130 us; for it is a stiffnecked H7186 H6203 people; H5971 and pardon H5545 (QalPerf) our iniquity H5771 and our sin, H2403 and take us for thine inheritance. Everyone with whom was found blue, purple, scarlet, fine linen, goats’ hair, rams’ skins dyed red, and sea cow hides, brought them.

και παρ ω ευρεθη βυσσος και δερματα υακινθινα και δερματα κριων ηρυθροδανωμενα ηνεγκαν

Everyone who offered an offering of silver and bronze brought Yahweh’s offering; and everyone with whom was found acacia wood for any work of the service, brought it.

^[5:22] η ευρεν απωλειαν και ψευσηται περι αυτης και ομοση αδικως περι ενος απο παντων ων εαν ποιηση ο ανθρωπος ωστε αμαρτειν εν τουτοις

then it shall be, if he has sinned, and is guilty, he shall restore that which he took by robbery, or the thing which he has gotten by oppression, or the deposit which was committed to him, or the lost thing which he found,

He killed the burnt offering; and Aaron’s sons delivered the blood to him, and he sprinkled it around on the altar.

They delivered the burnt offering to him, piece by piece, and the head. He burned them upon the altar.

Leviticus 12:8 Heb. her hand find not sufficiency of

εαν δε μη ευρισκη η χειρ αυτης το ικανον εις αμνον και λημψεται δυο τρυγονας η δυο νεοσσους περιστερων μιαν εις ολοκαυτωμα και μιαν περι αμαρτιας και εξιλασεται περι αυτης ο ιερευς και καθαρισθησεται

Moses said to Yahweh, “Why have you treated your servant so badly? Why haven’t I found favor in your sight, that you lay the burden of all this people on me?

And Moses H4872 said H559 (QalImpf) unto the Lord, H3068 Wherefore hast thou afflicted H7489 (HiphPerf) thy servant? H5650 and wherefore have I not found H4672 (QalPerf) favour H2580 in thy sight, H5869 that thou layest H7760 (QalInf) the burden H4853 of all this people H5971 upon me?

και ειπεν μωυσης προς κυριον ινα τι εκακωσας τον θεραποντα σου και δια τι ουχ ευρηκα χαριν εναντιον σου επιθειναι την ορμην του λαου τουτου επ εμε

If you treat me this way, please kill me right now, if I have found favor in your sight; and don’t let me see my wretchedness.”

And if thou deal H6213 (QalActPtc) thus with me, kill H2026 (QalImpv) me, I pray thee, out of hand, H2026 (QalInf) if I have found H4672 (QalPerf) favour H2580 in thy sight; H5869 and let me not see H7200 (QalImpf) my wretchedness. H7451

ει δε ουτως συ ποιεις μοι αποκτεινον με αναιρεσει ει ευρηκα ελεος παρα σοι ινα μη ιδω μου την κακωσιν

Shall flocks and herds be slaughtered for them, to be sufficient for them? Shall all the fish of the sea be gathered together for them, to be sufficient for them?”

While the children of Israel were in the wilderness, they found a man gathering sticks on the Sabbath day.

Those who found him gathering sticks brought him to Moses and Aaron, and to all the congregation.

“But if you will not do so, behold, you have sinned against Yahweh; and be sure your sin will find you out.

and the avenger of blood finds him outside of the border of his city of refuge, and the avenger of blood kills the man slayer, he shall not be guilty of blood,

but he shall acknowledge the firstborn, the son of the hated, by giving him a double portion of all that he has; for he is the beginning of his strength. The right of the firstborn is his.
