King Solomon raised a levy out of all Israel; and the levy was thirty thousand men.

He was the son of a widow of the tribe of Naphtali, and his father was a man of Tyre, a worker in bronze; and he was filled with wisdom and understanding and skill to work all works in bronze. He came to King Solomon and performed all his work.

he is son of a woman, a widow, of the tribe of Naphtali, and his father a man of Tyre, a worker in brass, and he is filled with the wisdom and the understanding, and the knowledge to do all work in brass-and he cometh unto king Solomon, and doth all his work.

Every base had four bronze wheels and axles of bronze; and its four feet had supports. The supports were cast beneath the basin, with wreaths at the side of each.

And every H259 base H4350 had four H702 brasen H5178 wheels, H212 and plates H5633 of brass: H5178 and the four H702 corners H6471 thereof had undersetters: H3802 under the laver H3595 [were] undersetters H3802 molten, H3332 (QalPasPtc) at the side H5676 of every H376 addition. H3914

And four wheels of brass are to the one base, and axles of brass; and its four corners have shoulders-under the laver are the molten shoulders, beside each addition.

On the plates of its supports and on its panels, he engraved cherubim, lions, and palm trees, each in its space, with wreaths all around.

For on the plates H3871 of the ledges H3027 thereof, and on the borders H4526 thereof, he graved H6605 (PielImpf) cherubims, H3742 lions, H738 and palm trees, H8561 according to the proportion H4626 of every one, H376 and additions H3914 round about. H5439

And he openeth on the tablets of its spokes, and on its borders, cherubs, lions, and palm-trees, according to the void space of each, and additions round about.

All the men of Israel assembled themselves to King Solomon at the feast in the month Ethanim, which is the seventh month.

and all the men of Israel are assembled unto king Solomon, in the month of Ethanim, in the festival-is the seventh month.

Now therefore, may Yahweh, the God of Israel, keep with your servant David my father that which you have promised him, saying, ‘There shall not fail from you a man in my sight to sit on the throne of Israel, if only your children take heed to their way, to walk before me as you have walked before me.’

‘And now, Jehovah, God of Israel, keep for Thy servant David my father that which Thou spakest to him, saying, There is not cut off to thee a man from before Me, sitting on the throne of Israel-only, if thy sons watch their way, to walk before Me as thou hast walked before Me.

“If a man sins against his neighbor, and an oath is laid on him to cause him to swear, and he comes and swears before your altar in this house,

that which a man sinneth against his neighbour, and he hath lifted up upon him an oath to cause him to swear, and the oath hath come in before Thine altar in this house,

whatever prayer and supplication is made by any man, or by all your people Israel, who shall each know the plague of his own heart, and spread out his hands toward this house,

then hear in heaven, your dwelling place, and forgive, and act, and give to every man according to all his ways, whose heart you know (for you, even you only, know the hearts of all the children of men);

then Thou dost hear in the heavens, the settled place of Thy dwelling, and hast forgiven, and hast done, and hast given to each according to all his ways, whose heart Thou knowest, (for Thou hast known-Thyself alone-the heart of all the sons of man),

then I will establish the throne of your kingdom over Israel forever, as I promised to David your father, saying, ‘There shall not fail from you a man on the throne of Israel.’

then I have established the throne of thy kingdom over Israel-to the age, as I spake unto David thy father, saying, There is not cut off to thee a man from being on the throne of Israel.

But of the children of Israel Solomon made no bondservants; but they were the men of war, his servants, his princes, his captains, and rulers of his chariots and of his horsemen.

And out of the sons of Israel Solomon hath not appointed a servant, for they are the men of war, and his servants, and his heads, and his captains, and the heads of his chariots, and his horsemen.

Hiram sent in the fleet his servants, sailors who had knowledge of the sea, with the servants of Solomon.

Happy are your men, happy are these your servants who stand continually before you, who hear your wisdom.

O the happiness of thy men, O the happiness of thy servants-these-who are standing before thee continually, who are hearing thy wisdom!

in addition to that which the traders brought, and the traffic of the merchants, and of all the kings of the mixed people, and of the governors of the country.

apart from that of the tourists, and of the traffic of the merchants, and of all the kings of Arabia, and of the governors of the land.

Year after year, every man brought his tribute, vessels of silver, vessels of gold, clothing, armor, spices, horses, and mules.

And they brought H935 (HiphPtc) every man H376 his present, H4503 vessels H3627 of silver, H3701 and vessels H3627 of gold, H2091 and garments, H8008 and armour, H5402 and spices, H1314 horses, H5483 and mules, H6505 a rate H1697 year H8141 by year. H8141

and they are bringing each his present, vessels of silver, and vessels of gold, and garments, and armour, and spices, horses, and mules, the matter of a year in a year.

Hadad fled, he and certain Edomites of his father’s servants with him, to go into Egypt, when Hadad was still a little child.

and the man Jeroboam is mighty in valour, and Solomon seeth the young man that he is doing business, and appointeth him over all the burden of the house of Joseph.

But the word of God came to Shemaiah the man of God, saying,

But the word H1697 of God H430 came unto Shemaiah H8098 the man H376 of God, H430 saying, H559 (QalInf)

And the word of God is unto Shemaiah a man of God, saying,

‘Yahweh says, “You shall not go up or fight against your brothers, the children of Israel. Everyone return to his house; for this thing is from me.” ’ ” So they listened to Yahweh’s word, and returned and went their way, according to Yahweh’s word.

Thus saith H559 (QalPerf) the Lord, H3068 Ye shall not go up, H5927 (QalImpf) nor fight H3898 (NiphImpf) against your brethren H251 the children H1121 of Israel: H3478 return H7725 (QalImpv) every man H376 to his house; H1004 for this thing H1697 is H1961 (NiphPerf) from me. They hearkened H8085 (QalImpf) therefore to the word H1697 of the Lord, H3068 and returned H7725 (QalImpf) to depart, H3212 (QalInf) according to the word H1697 of the Lord. H3068

Thus said Jehovah, Ye do not go up nor fight with your brethren the sons of Israel; turn back each to his house, for from Me hath this thing been;’ and they hear the word of Jehovah, and turn back to go according to the word of Jehovah.

Behold, a man of God came out of Judah by Yahweh’s word to Bethel; and Jeroboam was standing by the altar to burn incense.

And, behold, there came H935 (QalPerf) a man H376 of God H430 out of Judah H3063 by the word H1697 of the Lord H3068 unto Bethel: H1008 and Jeroboam H3379 stood H5975 (QalActPtc) by the altar H4196 to burn incense. H6999 (HiphInf)

And lo, a man of God hath come from Judah, by the word of Jehovah, unto Beth-El, and Jeroboam is standing by the altar-to make perfume;

When the king heard the saying of the man of God, which he cried against the altar in Bethel, Jeroboam put out his hand from the altar, saying, “Seize him!” His hand, which he put out against him, dried up, so that he could not draw it back again to himself.

And it came to pass, when king H4428 Jeroboam H3379 heard H8085 (QalInf) the saying H1697 of the man H376 of God, H430 which had cried H7121 (QalPerf) against the altar H4196 in Bethel, H1008 that he put forth H7971 (QalImpf) his hand H3027 from the altar, H4196 saying, H559 (QalInf) Lay hold H8610 (QalImpv) on him. And his hand, H3027 which he put forth H7971 (QalPerf) against him, dried up, H3001 (QalImpf) so that he could H3201 (QalPerf) not pull it in again H7725 (HiphInf) to him.

And it cometh to pass, at the king’s hearing the word of the man of God that he calleth against the altar in Beth-El, that Jeroboam putteth forth his hand from off the altar, saying, ‘Catch him;’ and his hand is dried up that he hath put forth against him, and he is not able to bring it back unto him,

The altar was also split apart, and the ashes poured out from the altar, according to the sign which the man of God had given by Yahweh’s word.

The altar H4196 also was rent, H7167 (NiphPerf) and the ashes H1880 poured out H8210 (NiphImpf) from the altar, H4196 according to the sign H4159 which the man H376 of God H430 had given H5414 (QalPerf) by the word H1697 of the Lord. H3068

and the altar is rent, and the ashes poured forth from the altar, according to the sign that the man of God had given by the word of Jehovah.

The king answered the man of God, “Now intercede for the favor of Yahweh your God, and pray for me, that my hand may be restored me again.” The man of God interceded with Yahweh, and the king’s hand was restored to him again, and became as it was before.

And the king H4428 answered H6030 (QalImpf) and said H559 (QalImpf) unto the man H376 of God, H430 Intreat H2470 (PielImpv) now the face H6440 of the Lord H3068 thy God, H430 and pray H6419 (HithImpv) for me, that my hand H3027 may be restored me again. H7725 (QalImpf) And the man H376 of God H430 besought H2470 (PielImpf) H6440 the Lord, H3068 and the king’s H4428 hand H3027 was restored him again, H7725 (QalImpf) and became as [it was] before. H7223

And the king answereth and saith unto the man of God, ‘Appease, I pray thee, the face of Jehovah thy God, and pray for me, and my hand doth come back unto me;’ and the man of God appeaseth the face of Jehovah, and the hand of the king cometh back unto him, and it is as at the beginning.

The king said to the man of God, “Come home with me and refresh yourself, and I will give you a reward.”

And the king H4428 said H1696 (PielImpf) unto the man H376 of God, H430 Come H935 (QalImpv) home H1004 with me, and refresh H5582 (QalImpv) thyself, and I will give H5414 (QalImpf) thee a reward. H4991

And the king speaketh unto the man of God, ‘Come in with me to the house, and refresh thyself, and I give to thee a gift.’

The man of God said to the king, “Even if you gave me half of your house, I would not go in with you, neither would I eat bread nor drink water in this place;

And the man H376 of God H430 said H559 (QalImpf) unto the king, H4428 If thou wilt give H5414 (QalImpf) me half H2677 thine house, H1004 I will not go in H935 (QalImpf) with thee, neither will I eat H398 (QalImpf) bread H3899 nor drink H8354 (QalImpf) water H4325 in this place: H4725

And the man of God saith unto the king, ‘If thou dost give to me the half of thine house, I do not go in with thee, nor do I eat bread, nor do I drink water, in this place;

Now an old prophet lived in Bethel, and one of his sons came and told him all the works that the man of God had done that day in Bethel. They also told their father the words which he had spoken to the king.

Now there dwelt H3427 (QalActPtc) an H259 old H2205 prophet H5030 in Bethel; H1008 and his sons H1121 came H935 (QalImpf) and told H5608 (PielImpf) him all the works H4639 that the man H376 of God H430 had done H6213 (QalPerf) that day H3117 in Bethel: H1008 the words H1697 which he had spoken H1696 (PielPerf) unto the king, H4428 them they told H5608 (PielImpf) also to their father. And a certain aged prophet is dwelling in Beth-El, and his son cometh and recounteth to him all the deed that the man of God hath done to-day in Beth-El, the words that he hath spoken unto the king,-yea, they recount them to their father.

Their father said to them, “Which way did he go?” Now his sons had seen which way the man of God went, who came from Judah.

And their father H1 said H1696 (PielImpf) unto them, What way H1870 went H1980 (QalPerf) he? For his sons H1121 had seen H7200 (QalImpf) what H335 way H1870 the man H376 of God H430 went, H1980 (QalPerf) which came H935 (QalPerf) from Judah. H3063

And their father saith unto them, ‘Where is this-the way he hath gone?’ and his sons see the way that the man of God hath gone who came from Judah.

He went after the man of God, and found him sitting under an oak. He said to him, “Are you the man of God who came from Judah?” He said, “I am.”

and goeth after the man of God, and findeth him sitting under the oak, and saith unto him, ‘Art thou the man of God who hast come from Judah?’ and he saith, ‘I am.’

and he cried out to the man of God who came from Judah, saying, “Yahweh says, ‘Because you have been disobedient to Yahweh’s word, and have not kept the commandment which Yahweh your God commanded you,

and he calleth unto the man of God who came from Judah, saying, ‘Thus said Jehovah, Because that thou hast provoked the mouth of Jehovah, and hast not kept the command that Jehovah thy God charged thee,

Behold, men passed by and saw the body thrown on the path, and the lion standing by the body; and they came and told it in the city where the old prophet lived.

And, behold, men H582 passed by, H5674 (QalActPtc) and saw H7200 (QalImpf) the carcase H5038 cast H7993 (HophPtc) in the way, H1870 and the lion H738 standing H5975 (QalActPtc) by H681 the carcase: H5038 and they came H935 (QalImpf) and told H1696 (PielImpf) [it] in the city H5892 where the old H2205 prophet H5030 dwelt. And lo, men are passing by, and see the carcase cast in the way, and the lion standing near the carcase, and they come and speak of it in the city in which the old prophet is dwelling.

When the prophet who brought him back from the way heard of it, he said, “It is the man of God who was disobedient to Yahweh’s word. Therefore Yahweh has delivered him to the lion, which has mauled him and slain him, according to Yahweh’s word which he spoke to him.”

And when the prophet H5030 that brought him back H7725 (HiphPerf) from the way H1870 heard H8085 (QalImpf) [thereof], he said, H559 (QalImpf) It [is] the man H376 of God, H430 who was disobedient H4784 (QalPerf) unto the word H6310 of the Lord: H3068 therefore the Lord H3068 hath delivered H5414 (QalImpf) him unto the lion, H738 which hath torn H7665 (QalImpf) him, and slain H4191 (HiphImpf) him, according to the word H1697 of the Lord, H3068 which he spake H1696 (PielPerf) unto him.

And the prophet who brought him back out of the way heareth and saith, ‘It is the man of God who provoked the mouth of Jehovah, and Jehovah giveth him to the lion, and it destroyeth him, and putteth him to death, according to the word of Jehovah that he spake to him.’

The prophet took up the body of the man of God, and laid it on the donkey, and brought it back. He came to the city of the old prophet to mourn, and to bury him.

And the prophet H5030 took up H5375 (QalImpf) the carcase H5038 of the man H376 of God, H430 and laid H3240 (HiphImpf) it upon the ass, H2543 and brought it back: H7725 (HiphImpf) and the old H2205 prophet H5030 came H935 (QalImpf) to the city, H5892 to mourn H5594 (QalInf) and to bury H6912 (QalInf) him.

And the prophet taketh up the carcase of the man of God, and placeth it on the ass, and bringeth it back, and the old prophet cometh in unto the city to mourn and to bury him,

After he had buried him, he spoke to his sons, saying, “When I am dead, bury me in the tomb in which the man of God is buried. Lay my bones beside his bones.

And it came to pass, after H310 he had buried H6912 (QalInf) him, that he spake H559 (QalImpf) to his sons, H1121 saying, H559 (QalInf) When I am dead, H4191 (QalInf) then bury H6912 (QalPerf) me in the sepulchre H6913 wherein the man H376 of God H430 [is] buried; H6912 (QalPasPtc) lay H3240 (HiphImpv) my bones H6106 beside H681 his bones: H6106

And it cometh to pass, after his burying him, that he speaketh unto his sons, saying, ‘At my death-ye have buried me in the burying-place in which the man of God is buried; near his bones place my bones;

She said to Elijah, “What have I to do with you, you man of God? You have come to me to bring my sin to memory, and to kill my son!”

And she said H559 (QalImpf) unto Elijah, H452 What have I to do with thee, O thou man H376 of God? H430 art thou come H935 (QalPerf) unto me to call H2142 my sin H5771 to remembrance, H2142 (HiphInf) and to slay H4191 (HiphInf) my son? H1121

And she saith unto Elijah, ‘What-to me and to thee, O man of God? thou hast come unto me to cause mine iniquity to be remembered, and to put my son to death!’

The woman said to Elijah, “Now I know that you are a man of God, and that Yahweh’s word in your mouth is truth.”

And the woman H802 said H559 (QalImpf) to Elijah, H452 Now by this H2088 I know H3045 (QalPerf) that thou [art] a man H376 of God, H430 [and] that the word H1697 of the Lord H3068 in thy mouth H6310 [is] truth. H571

And the woman saith unto Elijah, ‘Now, this I have known, that a man of God thou art, and the word of Jehovah in thy mouth is truth.’

for when Jezebel cut off Yahweh’s prophets, Obadiah took one hundred prophets, and hid them fifty to a cave, and fed them with bread and water.)

and it cometh to pass, in Jezebel’s cutting off the prophets of Jehovah, that Obadiah taketh a hundred prophets, and hideth them, fifty men in a cave, and hath sustained them with bread and water-

Wasn’t it told my lord what I did when Jezebel killed Yahweh’s prophets, how I hid one hundred men of Yahweh’s prophets with fifty to a cave, and fed them with bread and water?

Was it not told H5046 (HophPerf) my lord H113 what I did H6213 (QalPerf) when Jezebel H348 slew H2026 (QalInf) the prophets H5030 of the Lord, H3068 how I hid H2244 (HiphImpf) an hundred H3967 men H376 of the Lord’s H3068 prophets H5030 by fifty H2572 in a cave, H4631 and fed H3557 (PilpImpf) them with bread H3899 and water? ‘Hath it not been declared to my lord that which I have done in Jezebel’s slaying the prophets of Jehovah, that I hide of the prophets of Jehovah a hundred men, fifty by fifty in a cave, and sustained them with bread and water?

Then Elijah said to the people, “I, even I only, am left as a prophet of Yahweh; but Baal’s prophets are four hundred fifty men.

And Elijah saith unto the people, ‘I-I have been left a prophet of Jehovah-by myself; and the prophets of Baal are four hundred and fifty men;

Elijah said to them, “Seize the prophets of Baal! Don’t let one of them escape!” They seized them; and Elijah brought them down to the brook Kishon, and killed them there.

And Elijah H452 said H559 (QalImpf) unto them, Take H8610 (QalImpv) the prophets H5030 of Baal; H1168 let not one H376 of them escape. And Elijah saith to them, ‘Catch ye the prophets of Baal; let not a man escape of them;’ and they catch them, and Elijah bringeth them down unto the stream Kishon, and doth slaughter them there.

On the seventh time, he said, “Behold, a small cloud, like a man’s hand, is rising out of the sea.” He said, “Go up, tell Ahab, ‘Get ready and go down, so that the rain doesn’t stop you.’ ”

And it cometh to pass, at the seventh, that he saith, ‘Lo, a little thickness as the palm of a man is coming up out of the sea.’ And he saith, ‘Go up, say unto Ahab, ‘Bind-and go down, and the shower doth not restrain thee.’

The young men of the princes of the provinces went out first; and Ben Hadad sent out, and they told him, saying, “Men are coming out from Samaria.”

And the young men of the heads of the provinces go out at the first, and Ben-Hadad sendeth, and they declare to him, saying, ‘Men have come out of Samaria.’

They each killed his man. The Syrians fled, and Israel pursued them. Ben Hadad the king of Syria escaped on a horse with horsemen.

And they slew H5221 (HiphImpf) every one H376 his man: H376 and the Syrians H758 fled; H5127 (QalImpf) and Israel H3478 pursued H7291 (QalImpf) them: and Benhadad H1130 the king H4428 of Syria H758 escaped H4422 (NiphImpf) on an horse H5483 with the horsemen. H6571

and smite each his man, and Aram fleeth, and Israel pursueth them, and Ben-Hadad king of Aram escapeth on a horse, and the horsemen;

Do this thing: take the kings away, every man out of his place, and put captains in their place.

‘And this thing do thou: turn aside the kings each out of his place, and set captains in their stead;

A man of God came near and spoke to the king of Israel, and said, “Yahweh says, ‘Because the Syrians have said, “Yahweh is a god of the hills, but he is not a god of the valleys,” therefore I will deliver all this great multitude into your hand, and you shall know that I am Yahweh.’ ”

And there cometh nigh a man of God, and speaketh unto the king of Israel, and saith, ‘Thus said Jehovah, Because that the Aramaeans have said, God of hills is Jehovah, and He is not God of valleys-I have given the whole of this great multitude into thy hand, and ye have known that I am Jehovah.’

But the rest fled to Aphek, into the city; and the wall fell on twenty-seven thousand men who were left. Ben Hadad fled and came into the city, into an inner room.

And those left flee to Aphek, unto the city, and the wall falleth on twenty and seven chief men who are left, and Ben-Hadad hath fled, and cometh in unto the city, into the innermost part.

Now the men observed diligently and hurried to take this phrase; and they said, “Your brother Ben Hadad.” Then he said, “Go, bring him.” Then Ben Hadad came out to him; and he caused him to come up into the chariot.

Now the men H582 did diligently observe H5172 (PielImpf) whether [any thing would come] from him, and did hastily H4116 (PielImpf) catch H2480 (HiphImpf) [it]: and they said, H559 (QalImpf) Thy brother H251 Benhadad. And the men observe diligently, and hasten, and catch it from him, and say, ‘Thy brother Ben-Hadad;’ and he saith, ‘Go ye in, bring him;’ and Ben-Hadad cometh out unto him, and he causeth him to come up on the chariot.

A certain man of the sons of the prophets said to his fellow by Yahweh’s word, “Please strike me!” The man refused to strike him.

And a certain H259 man H376 of the sons H1121 of the prophets H5030 said H559 (QalPerf) unto his neighbour H7453 in the word H1697 of the Lord, H3068 Smite H5221 (HiphImpv) me, I pray thee. And the man H376 refused H3985 (PielImpf) to smite H5221 (HiphInf) him.

And a certain man of the sons of the prophets said unto his neighbour by the word of Jehovah, ‘Smite me, I pray thee;’ and the man refuseth to smite him,

Then he found another man, and said, “Please strike me.” The man struck him and wounded him.

And he findeth another man, and saith, ‘Smite me, I pray thee;’ and the man smiteth him, smiting and wounding,
