[1] After these things, Jesus revealed himself again to the disciples at the sea of Tiberias. He revealed himself this way. [2] Simon Peter, Thomas called Didymus,§ Nathanael of Cana in Galilee, and the sons of Zebedee, and two others of his disciples were together. [3] Simon Peter said to them, “I’m going fishing.”They told him, “We are also coming with you.” They immediately went out and entered into the boat. That night, they caught nothing. [4] But when day had already come, Jesus stood on the beach; yet the disciples didn’t know that it was Jesus. [5] Jesus therefore said to them, “Children, have you anything to eat?”They answered him, “No.” [6] He said to them, “Cast the net on the right side of the boat, and you will find some.”They cast it therefore, and now they weren’t able to draw it in for the multitude of fish. [7] That disciple therefore whom Jesus loved said to Peter, “It’s the Lord!”So when Simon Peter heard that it was the Lord, he wrapped his coat around himself (for he was naked), and threw himself into the sea. [8] But the other disciples came in the little boat (for they were not far from the land, but about two hundred cubitsⓘ away), dragging the net full of fish. [9] So when they got out on the land, they saw a fire of coals there, with fish and bread laid on it. [10] Jesus said to them, “Bring some of the fish which you have just caught.” [11] Simon Peter went up, and drew the net to land, full of one hundred fifty-three great fish. Even though there were so many, the net wasn’t torn. [12] Jesus said to them, “Come and eat breakfast!”None of the disciples dared inquire of him, “Who are you?” knowing that it was the Lord. [13] Then Jesus came and took the bread, gave it to them, and the fish likewise. [14] This is now the third time that Jesus was revealed to his disciples after he had risen from the dead. [15] So when they had eaten their breakfast, Jesus said to Simon Peter, “Simon, son of Jonah, do you love me more than these?”He said to him, “Yes, Lord; you know that I have affection for you.”He said to him, “Feed my lambs.” [16] He said to him again a second time, “Simon, son of Jonah, do you love me?”He said to him, “Yes, Lord; you know that I have affection for you.”He said to him, “Tend my sheep.” [17] He said to him the third time, “Simon, son of Jonah, do you have affection for me?”Peter was grieved because he asked him the third time, “Do you have affection for me?” He said to him, “Lord, you know everything. You know that I have affection for you.”Jesus said to him, “Feed my sheep. [18] Most certainly I tell you, when you were young, you dressed yourself and walked where you wanted to. But when you are old, you will stretch out your hands, and another will dress you and carry you where you don’t want to go.” [19] Now he said this, signifying by what kind of death he would glorify God. When he had said this, he said to him, “Follow me.” [20] Then Peter, turning around, saw a disciple following. This was the disciple whom Jesus loved, the one who had also leaned on Jesus’ breast at the supper and asked, “Lord, who is going to betray you?” [21] Peter, seeing him, said to Jesus, “Lord, what about this man?” [22] Jesus said to him, “If I desire that he stay until I come, what is that to you? You follow me.” [23] This saying therefore went out among the brothers§ that this disciple wouldn’t die. Yet Jesus didn’t say to him that he wouldn’t die, but, “If I desire that he stay until I come, what is that to you?” [24] This is the disciple who testifies about these things, and wrote these things. We know that his witness is true. [25] There are also many other things which Jesus did, which if they would all be written, I suppose that even the world itself wouldn’t have room for the books that would be written.

that he was risenG1453(AorPasPtc) fromG1537 the dead.G3498 [15] SoG3767 whenG3753 they had dined,G709(AorActInd) JesusG2424 saithG3004(PresActInd) to SimonG4613 Peter,G4074 Simon,G4613 [son] of Simon,G4613 [son] of Jonas,G2495 lovest thouG25(PresActInd) me?G3165 He saithG3004(PresActInd) unto him,G846 Yea,G3483 Lord;G2962 thouG4771 knowestG1492(PerfActInd) thatG3754 I loveG5368(PresActInd) lovestG5368(PresActInd) thou me?G3165 PeterG4074 was grievedG3076(AorPasInd) becauseG3754 he saidG2036(Aor2ActInd) unto himG846 the thirdG5154 time, LovestG5368(PresActInd) thou me?G3165 AndG2532 he saidG2036(Aor2ActInd) unto him,G846 Lord,G2962 thouG4771 knowestG1492(PerfActInd) all things;G3956 thouG4771 knowestG1097(PresActInd) thatG3754 I loveG5368(PresActInd) thee.G4571 JesusG2424 saithG3004(PresActInd) unto him,G846 FeedG1006(PresActImpr) myG3450 sheep.G4263 [18] Verily,G281 verily,G281 I sayG3004(PresActInd) unto thee,G4671 WhenG3753 thou wastG2258(ImpfInd) young,G3501 thou girdedstG2224(ImpfActInd) thyself,G4572 andG2532 walkedstG4043(ImpfActInd) whitherG3699 thou wouldest:G2309(ImpfActInd) butG1161 whenG3752 thou shalt be old,G1095(AorActSubj) thou shalt stretch forthG1614(FutActInd) thyG4675 hands,G5495 andG2532 anotherG243 shall girdG2224(FutActInd) thee,G4571 andG2532 carryG5342(FutActInd) [thee] whitherG3699 thou wouldestG2309(PresActInd) not.G3756 [19] ThisG5124 spake he,G2036(Aor2ActInd) signifyingG4591(PresActPtc) by whatG4169 deathG2288 he should glorifyG1392(FutActInd) God.G2316 AndG2532 when he had spokenG2036(Aor2ActPtc) this,G5124 he saithG3004(PresActInd) unto him,G846 FollowG190(PresActImpr) me.G3427 [20] ThenG1161 Peter,G4074 turning about,G1994(Aor2PasPtc) seethG991(PresActInd) the discipleG3101 whomG3739 JesusG2424 lovedG25(ImpfActInd) following;G190(PresActPtc) whichG3739 alsoG2532 leanedG377(Aor2ActInd) onG1909 hisG846 breastG4738 atG1722 supper,G1173 andG2532 said,G2036(Aor2ActInd) Lord,G2962 whichG5101 is heG2076(PresInd) that betrayethG3860(PresActPtc) thee?G4571 [21] PeterG4074 seeingG1492(Aor2ActPtc) himG5126 saithG3004(PresActInd) to Jesus,G2424 Lord,G2962 andG1161 whatG5101 [shall] this manG3778 [do]? [22] JesusG2424 saithG3004(PresActInd) unto him,G846 IfG1437 I willG2309(PresActSubj) that heG846 tarryG3306(PresActInf) tillG2193 I come,G2064(PresMidPasDepInd) whatG5101 [is that] toG4314 thee?G4571 followG190(PresActImpr) thouG4771 me.G3427 [23] ThenG3767 wentG1831 thisG3778 sayingG3056 abroadG1831(Aor2ActInd) amongG1519 the brethren,G80 thatG3754 thatG1565 discipleG3101 shouldG599 notG3756 die:G599(PresActInd) yetG2532 JesusG2424 saidG2036(Aor2ActInd) notG3756 unto him,G846 He shallG599 notG3756 die;G599(PresActInd) but,G235 IfG1437 I willG2309(PresActSubj) that heG846 tarryG3306(PresActInf) tillG2193 I come,G2064(PresMidPasDepInd) whatG5101 [is that] toG4314 thee?G4571 [24] ThisG3778 isG2076(PresInd) the discipleG3101 whichG3588 testifiethG3140(PresActPtc) ofG4012 these things,G5130 andG2532 wroteG1125(AorActPtc) these things:G5023 andG2532 we knowG1492(PerfActInd) thatG3754 hisG846 testimonyG3141 isG2076(PresInd) true.G227 [25] AndG1161 there areG2076(PresInd) alsoG2532 manyG4183 other thingsG243 whichG3745 JesusG2424 did,G4160(AorActInd) the which,G3748 ifG1437 they should be writtenG1125(PresPasSubj) everyG2596 one,G1520 I supposeG3633(PresMidPasDepInd) that evenG3761 the worldG2889 itselfG846 could notG3761 containG5562(AorActInf) the booksG975 that should be written.G1125(PresPasPtc) Amen.G281
