I saw when, for this very cause, that backsliding Israel had committed adultery, I had put her away and given her a certificate of divorce, yet treacherous Judah, her sister, had no fear, but she also went and played the prostitute.

And I saw, H7200 (QalImpf) when for all the causes H182 whereby backsliding H4878 Israel H3478 committed adultery H5003 (PielPerf) I had put her away, H7971 (PielPerf) and given H5414 (QalImpf) her a bill H5612 of divorce; H3748 yet her treacherous H898 (QalActPtc) sister H269 Judah H3063 feared H3372 (QalPerf) not, but went H3212 (QalImpf) and played the harlot H2181 (QalImpf) also.

And I see when (for all the causes whereby backsliding Israel committed adultery) I have sent her away, and I give the bill of her divorce unto her, that treacherous Judah her sister hath not feared, and goeth and committeth fornication-she also.

At that time they will call Jerusalem ‘Yahweh’s Throne;’ and all the nations will be gathered to it, to Yahweh’s name, to Jerusalem. They will no longer walk after the stubbornness of their evil heart.

At that time H6256 they shall call H7121 (QalImpf) Jerusalem H3389 the throne H3678 of the Lord; H3068 and all the nations H1471 shall be gathered H6960 (NiphPerf) unto it, to the name H8034 of the Lord, H3068 to Jerusalem: H3389 neither shall they walk H3212 (QalImpf) any more after H310 the imagination H8307 of their evil H7451 heart. At that time they cry to Jerusalem, ‘O throne of Jehovah,’ And gathered unto her hath been all the nations, For the name of Jehovah, to Jerusalem, Nor do they go any more after the stubbornness of their evil heart.

In those days the house of Judah will walk with the house of Israel, and they will come together out of the land of the north to the land that I gave for an inheritance to your fathers.

In those days do the house of Judah Go unto the house of Israel, And they come together from the land of the south, unto the land That I caused your fathers to inherit.

I will go to the great men and will speak to them, for they know the way of Yahweh, and the law of their God.” But these with one accord have broken the yoke, and burst the bonds.

I will get H3212 (QalImpf) me unto the great men, H1419 and will speak H1696 (PielImpf) unto them; for they have known H3045 (QalPerf) the way H1870 of the Lord, H3068 [and] the judgment H4941 of their God: H430 but these have altogether H3162 broken H7665 (QalPerf) the yoke, H5923 [and] burst H5423 (PielPerf) the bonds. I get me to the great, and I speak with them, For they have known the way of Jehovah, The judgment of their God.’ Surely they together have broken the yoke, They have drawn away the bands.

“But this people has a revolting and a rebellious heart. They have revolted and gone.

But this people H5971 hath a revolting H5637 (QalActPtc) and a rebellious H4784 (QalActPtc) heart; H3820 they are revolted H5493 (QalPerf) and gone. H3212 (QalImpf)

And this people hath an apostate and rebellious heart, They have turned aside, and they go on.

Yahweh says, “Stand in the ways and see, and ask for the old paths, ‘Where is the good way?’ and walk in it, and you will find rest for your souls. But they said, ‘We will not walk in it.’

Thus saith H559 (QalPerf) the Lord, H3068 Stand H5975 (QalImpv) ye in the ways, H1870 and see, H7200 (QalImpf) and ask H7592 (QalImpv) for the old H5769 paths, H5410 where [is] the good H2896 way, H1870 and walk H3212 (QalImpf) therein, and ye shall find H4672 (QalImpv) rest H4771 for your souls. H5315 But they said, H559 (QalImpf) We will not walk H3212 (QalImpv) [therein].

Thus said Jehovah: Stand ye by the ways and see, and ask for paths of old, Where is this-the good way? and go ye in it, And find rest for yourselves. And they say, ‘We do not go.’

Don’t go out into the field or walk by the way; for the sword of the enemy and terror are on every side.

Go not forth to the field, And in the way walk not, For a sword hath the enemy, fear is round about.

if you don’t oppress the foreigner, the fatherless, and the widow, and don’t shed innocent blood in this place, and don’t walk after other gods to your own hurt,

[If] ye oppress H6231 (QalImpf) not the stranger, H1616 the fatherless, H3490 and the widow, H490 and shed H8210 (QalImpf) not innocent H5355 blood H1818 in this place, H4725 neither walk H3212 (QalImpf) after H310 other H312 gods H430 to your hurt: H7451

Sojourner, fatherless, and widow, ye oppress not, And innocent blood do not shed in this place, And after other gods do not walk, for evil to yourselves,

“But go now to my place which was in Shiloh, where I caused my name to dwell at the first, and see what I did to it for the wickedness of my people Israel.

But go H3212 (QalImpv) ye now unto my place H4725 which [was] in Shiloh, H7887 where I set H7931 (PielPerf) my name H8034 at the first, H7223 and see H7200 (QalImpv) what I did H6213 (QalPerf) to it for H6440 the wickedness H7451 of my people H5971 Israel. H3478

But go ye, I pray you, Unto My place that is in Shiloh, Where I caused My name to dwell at first, And see that which I have done to it, For the wickedness of My people Israel.

But they didn’t listen or turn their ear, but walked in their own counsels and in the stubbornness of their evil heart, and went backward, and not forward.

But they hearkened H8085 (QalPerf) not, nor inclined H5186 (HiphPerf) their ear, H241 but walked H3212 (QalImpf) in the counsels H4156 [and] in the imagination H8307 of their evil H7451 heart, H3820 and went backward, H268 and not forward. H6440

And they have not hearkened, nor inclined their ear, And they walk in the counsels, In the stubbornness, of their evil heart, And are for backward, and not for forward.

Oh that I had in the wilderness a lodging place of wayfaring men, that I might leave my people and go from them! For they are all adulterers, an assembly of treacherous men.

Who doth give me in a wilderness A lodging-place of travellers? And I leave my people, and go from them, For all of them are adulterers, An assembly of treacherous ones.

but have walked after the stubbornness of their own heart and after the Baals, which their fathers taught them.”

And they walk after the stubbornness of their heart, And after the Baalim, that their fathers taught them,

Yet they didn’t obey, nor turn their ear, but everyone walked in the stubbornness of their evil heart. Therefore I brought on them all the words of this covenant, which I commanded them to do, but they didn’t do them.’ ”

And they have not hearkened nor inclined their ear, And they walk each in the stubbornness of their evil heart, And I bring on them all the words of this covenant, That I commanded to do, and they did not.’

You have planted them. Yes, they have taken root. They grow. Yes, they produce fruit. You are near in their mouth, and far from their heart.

Thou hast planted H5193 (QalPerf) them, yea, they have taken root: H8327 (PoalPerf) they grow, H3212 (QalImpf) yea, they bring forth H6213 (QalPerf) fruit: H6529 thou [art] near H7138 in their mouth, H6310 and far from H7350 their reins. H3629

Thou hast planted them, yea, they have taken root, They go on, yea, they have made fruit, Near art Thou in their mouth, And far off from their reins.

Is my heritage to me as a speckled bird of prey? Are the birds of prey against her all around? Go, assemble all the animals of the field. Bring them to devour.

Mine heritage H5159 [is] unto me [as] a speckled H6641 bird, H5861 the birds H5861 round about H5439 [are] against her; come H3212 (QalImpv) ye, assemble H622 (QalImpv) all the beasts H2416 of the field, H7704 come H857 (HiphImpv) to devour. H402

A speckled fowl is Mine inheritance to Me? Is the fowl round about against her? Come, assemble, every beast of the field, Come ye for food.

“Take the belt that you have bought, which is on your waist, and arise, go to the Euphrates, and hide it there in a cleft of the rock.”

Take H3947 (QalImpv) the girdle H232 that thou hast got, H7069 (QalPerf) which [is] upon thy loins, H4975 and arise, H6965 (QalImpv) go H3212 (QalImpv) to Euphrates, H6578 and hide H2934 (QalImpv) it there in a hole H5357 of the rock. H5553

‘Take the girdle that thou hast got, that is on thy loins, and rise, go to Phrat, and hide it there in a hole of the rock;

So I went and hid it by the Euphrates, as Yahweh commanded me.

So I went, H3212 (QalImpf) and hid H2934 (QalImpf) it by Euphrates, H6578 as the Lord H3068 commanded H6680 (PielPerf) me.

and I go and hide it by Phrat, as Jehovah commanded me.

After many days, Yahweh said to me, “Arise, go to the Euphrates, and take the belt from there, which I commanded you to hide there.”

And it came to pass after H7093 many H7227 days, H3117 that the Lord H3068 said H559 (QalImpf) unto me, Arise, H6965 (QalImpv) go H3212 (QalImpv) to Euphrates, H6578 and take H3947 (QalImpv) the girdle H232 from thence, which I commanded H6680 (PielPerf) thee to hide H2934 (QalInf) there.

And it cometh to pass, at the end of many days, that Jehovah saith unto me, ‘Rise, go to Phrat, and take thence the girdle, that I commanded thee to hide there;’

Then I went to the Euphrates, and dug, and took the belt from the place where I had hidden it; and behold, the belt was ruined. It was profitable for nothing.

Then I went H3212 (QalImpf) to Euphrates, H6578 and digged, H2658 (QalImpf) and took H3947 (QalImpf) the girdle H232 from the place H4725 where I had hid H2934 (QalPerf) it: and, behold, the girdle H232 was marred, H7843 (NiphPerf) it was profitable H6743 (QalImpf) for nothing.

and I go to Phrat, and dig, and take the girdle from the place where I had hid it; and lo, the girdle hath been marred, it is not profitable for anything.

This evil people, who refuse to hear my words, who walk in the stubbornness of their heart, and have gone after other gods to serve them and to worship them, will even be as this belt, which is profitable for nothing.

This evil H7451 people, H5971 which refuse H3987 to hear H8085 (QalInf) my words, H1697 which walk H1980 (QalActPtc) in the imagination H8307 of their heart, H3820 and walk H3212 (QalImpf) after H310 other H312 gods, H430 to serve H5647 (QalInf) them, and to worship H7812 (HithInf) them, shall even be as this girdle, H232 which is good H6743 (QalImpf) for nothing.

This evil people, who refuse to hear My words, Who walk in the stubbornness of their heart, And go after other gods to serve them, And to bow themselves to them, Yea it is-as this girdle, that is not profitable for anything.

You have rejected me,” says Yahweh. “You have gone backward. Therefore I have stretched out my hand against you and destroyed you. I am weary of showing compassion.

Thou hast forsaken H5203 (QalPerf) me, saith H5002 (QalPasPtc) the Lord, H3068 thou art gone H3212 (QalImpf) backward: H268 therefore will I stretch out H5186 (HiphImpf) my hand H3027 against thee, and destroy H7843 (HiphImpf) thee; I am weary H3811 (NiphPerf) with repenting. H5162 (NiphInf)

Thou-thou hast left Me-an affirmation of Jehovah, Backward thou goest, And I stretch out My hand against thee, And I destroy thee, I have been weary of repenting,

For Yahweh says, “Don’t enter into the house of mourning. Don’t go to lament. Don’t bemoan them, for I have taken away my peace from this people,” says Yahweh, “even loving kindness and tender mercies.

For thus saith H559 (QalPerf) the Lord, H3068 Enter H935 (QalImpf) not into the house H1004 of mourning, H4798 neither go H3212 (QalImpf) to lament H5594 (QalInf) nor bemoan H5110 (QalImpf) them: for I have taken away H622 (QalPerf) my peace H7965 from this people, H5971 saith H5002 (QalPasPtc) the Lord, H3068 [even] lovingkindness H2617 and mercies. H7356

For thus said Jehovah: Do not enter the house of a mourning-feast, Nor go to lament nor bemoan for them, For I have removed My peace from this people, An affirmation of Jehovah, The kindness and the mercies.

then you shall tell them, ‘Because your fathers have forsaken me,’ says Yahweh, ‘and have walked after other gods, have served them, have worshiped them, have forsaken me, and have not kept my law.

Then shalt thou say H559 (QalPerf) unto them, Because your fathers H1 have forsaken H5800 (QalPerf) me, saith H5002 (QalPasPtc) the Lord, H3068 and have walked H3212 (QalImpf) after H310 other H312 gods, H430 and have served H5647 (QalImpf) them, and have worshipped H7812 (HithImpf) them, and have forsaken H5800 (QalPerf) me, and have not kept H8104 (QalPerf) my law; H8451

Then thou hast said unto them: Because that your fathers have forsaken Me, An affirmation of Jehovah, And go after other gods, and serve them, And they bow themselves to them, And Me have forsaken, and My law not kept,

But they say, ‘It is in vain; for we will walk after our own plans, and we will each follow the stubbornness of his evil heart.’ ”

And they have said, It is incurable, For after our own devices we do go, And each the stubbornness of his evil heart we do.

For my people have forgotten me. They have burned incense to false gods. They have been made to stumble in their ways in the ancient paths, to walk in byways, in a way not built up,

Because my people H5971 hath forgotten H7911 (QalPerf) me, they have burned incense H6999 (PielImpf) to vanity, H7723 and they have caused them to stumble H3782 (HiphImpf) in their ways H1870 [from] the ancient H5769 paths, H7635 (Qere) H7635 to walk H3212 (QalInf) in paths, H5410 [in] a way H1870 not cast up; H5549 (QalPasPtc)

But My people have forgotten Me, to a vain thing they make perfume, And they cause them to stumble in their ways-paths of old, To walk in paths-a way not raised up,

Then they said, “Come! Let’s devise plans against Jeremiah; for the law won’t perish from the priest, nor counsel from the wise, nor the word from the prophet. Come, and let’s strike him with the tongue, and let’s not give heed to any of his words.”

And they say, Come, And we devise against Jeremiah devices, For law doth not perish from the priest, Nor counsel from the wise, Nor the word from the prophet, Come, and we smite him with the tongue, And we do not attend to any of his words.

You, Pashhur, and all who dwell in your house will go into captivity. You will come to Babylon, and there you will die, and there you will be buried, you, and all your friends, to whom you have prophesied falsely.’ ”

And thou, Pashur, H6583 and all that dwell H3427 (QalActPtc) in thine house H1004 shall go H3212 (QalImpf) into captivity: H7628 and thou shalt come H935 (QalImpf) to Babylon, H894 and there thou shalt die, H4191 (QalImpf) and shalt be buried H6912 (NiphImpf) there, thou, and all thy friends, H157 (QalActPtc) to whom thou hast prophesied H5012 (NiphPerf) lies. And thou, Pashhur, and all dwelling in thy house, Do go into captivity. and Babylon thou dost enter, And there thou diest, and there thou art buried, Thou and all loving thee, To whom thou hast prophesied falsely.’

The wind will feed all your shepherds, and your lovers will go into captivity. Surely then you will be ashamed and confounded for all your wickedness.

The wind H7307 shall eat up H7462 (QalImpf) all thy pastors, H7462 (QalActPtc) and thy lovers H157 (PielPtc) shall go H3212 (QalImpf) into captivity: H7628 surely then shalt thou be ashamed H954 (QalImpf) and confounded H3637 (NiphPerf) for all thy wickedness. H7451

All thy friends consume doth wind, And thy lovers into captivity do go, Surely then thou art ashamed, And hast blushed for all thy wickedness.

Don’t go after other gods to serve them or worship them, and don’t provoke me to anger with the work of your hands; then I will do you no harm.”

And ye do not go after other gods to serve them, and to bow yourselves to them, nor do ye provoke Me to anger with the work of your hands, and I do no evil to you;

You shall tell them, “Yahweh says: ‘If you will not listen to me, to walk in my law which I have set before you,

And thou shalt say H559 (QalPerf) unto them, Thus saith H559 (QalPerf) the Lord; H3068 If ye will not hearken H8085 (QalImpf) to me, to walk H3212 (QalInf) in my law, H8451 which I have set H5414 (QalPerf) before H6440 you,

‘And thou hast said unto them: Thus said Jehovah, If ye do not hearken unto Me, to walk in My law, that I set before you,

Hananiah spoke in the presence of all the people, saying, “Yahweh says: ‘Even so I will break the yoke of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon from off the neck of all the nations within two full years.’ ” Then the prophet Jeremiah went his way.

And Hananiah speaketh before the eyes of all the people, saying, ‘Thus said Jehovah, Thus I break the yoke of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, within two years of days, from off the neck of all the nations;’ and Jeremiah the prophet goeth on his way.

Therefore all those who devour you will be devoured. All your adversaries, everyone of them, will go into captivity. Those who plunder you will be plunder. I will make all who prey on you become prey.

Therefore all they that devour H398 (QalActPtc) thee shall be devoured; H398 (NiphImpf) and all thine adversaries, H6862 every one of them, shall go H3212 (QalImpf) into captivity; H7628 and they that spoil H7601 (QalActPtc) (Qere) H8154 (QalActPtc) thee shall be a spoil, H4933 and all that prey H962 (QalActPtc) upon thee will I give H5414 (QalImpf) for a prey. Therefore all consuming thee are consumed, And all thine adversaries-all of them- Into captivity do go, And thy spoilers have been for a spoil, And all thy plunderers I give up to plunder.

They will come with weeping. I will lead them with petitions. I will cause them to walk by rivers of waters, in a straight way in which they won’t stumble; for I am a father to Israel. Ephraim is my firstborn.

and he will bring Zedekiah to Babylon, and he will be there until I visit him,” says Yahweh, “though you fight with the Chaldeans, you will not prosper” ’?”

And to Babylon he leadeth Zedekiah, and there he is till My inspecting him,-an affirmation of Jehovah-because ye fight with the Chaldeans, ye do not prosper.’

I have sent also to you all my servants the prophets, rising up early and sending them, saying, ‘Every one of you must return now from his evil way, amend your doings, and don’t go after other gods to serve them. Then you will dwell in the land which I have given to you and to your fathers;’ but you have not inclined your ear, nor listened to me.

And I send unto you all My servants the prophets, rising early and sending, saying: Turn back, I pray you, each from his evil way, and amend your doings, yea, ye do not walk after other gods, to serve them, and dwell ye on the ground that I have given to you and to your fathers; and ye have not inclined your ear, nor hearkened unto Me.

Therefore all the princes sent Jehudi the son of Nethaniah, the son of Shelemiah, the son of Cushi, to Baruch, saying, “Take in your hand the scroll in which you have read in the ears of the people, and come.” So Baruch the son of Neriah took the scroll in his hand, and came to them.

and all the heads send unto Baruch, Jehudi son of Nethaniah, son of Shelemiah, son of Cushi, saying, ‘The roll in which thou hast read in the ears of the people take in thy hand, and come.’ And Baruch son of Neriah taketh the roll in his hand and cometh in unto them,

Then the princes said to Baruch, “You and Jeremiah go hide. Don’t let anyone know where you are.”

And the heads say unto Baruch, ‘Go, be hidden, thou and Jeremiah, and let no one know where ye are.’

“Yahweh says, ‘Don’t deceive yourselves, saying, “The Chaldeans will surely depart from us;” for they will not depart.

Thus saith H559 (QalPerf) the Lord; H3068 Deceive H5377 (HiphImpf) not yourselves, H5315 saying, H559 (QalInf) The Chaldeans H3778 shall surely H1980 (QalInf) depart H3212 (QalImpf) from us: for they shall not depart. H3212 (QalImpf)

‘Thus said Jehovah: Lift not up your souls saying, The Chaldeans surely go from off us, for they do not go;

then Jeremiah went out of Jerusalem to go into the land of Benjamin, to receive his portion there, in the middle of the people.

Then Jeremiah H3414 went forth H3318 (QalImpf) out of Jerusalem H3389 to go H3212 (QalInf) into the land H776 of Benjamin, H1144 to separate H2505 (HiphInf) himself thence in the midst H8432 of the people. H5971

that Jeremiah goeth out from Jerusalem to go to the land of Benjamin, to receive a portion thence in the midst of the people.

Now, behold, I release you today from the chains which are on your hand. If it seems good to you to come with me into Babylon, come, and I will take care of you; but if it seems bad to you to come with me into Babylon, don’t. Behold, all the land is before you. Where it seems good and right to you to go, go there.”

And now, behold, I loose H6605 (PielPerf) thee this day H3117 from the chains H246 which [were] upon thine hand. ‘And now, lo, I have loosed thee to-day from the chains that are on thy hand; if good in thine eyes to come with me to Babylon, come, and I keep mine eye upon thee: and if evil in thine eyes to come with me to Babylon, forbear; see, all the land is before thee, whither it be good, and whither it be right in thine eyes to go-go.’-

Now while he had not yet gone back, “Go back then,” he said, “to Gedaliah the son of Ahikam, the son of Shaphan, whom the king of Babylon has made governor over the cities of Judah, and dwell with him among the people; or go wherever it seems right to you to go.” So the captain of the guard gave him food and a present, and let him go.

Now while he was not yet gone back, H7725 (QalImpf) [he said], Go back H7725 (QalImpv) also to Gedaliah H1436 the son H1121 of Ahikam H296 the son H1121 of Shaphan, H8227 whom the king H4428 of Babylon H894 hath made governor H6485 (HiphPerf) over the cities H5892 of Judah, H3063 and dwell H3427 (QalImpv) with him among H8432 the people: H5971 or go H3212 (QalImpv) wheresoever it seemeth convenient H3477 H5869 unto thee to go. and while he doth not reply-‘Or turn back unto Gedaliah son of Ahikam, son of Shaphan, whom the king of Babylon hath appointed over the cities of Judah, and dwell with him in the midst of the people, or whithersoever it is right in thine eyes to go-go.’ And the chief of the executioners giveth to him for the way, and a gift, and sendeth him away,

Then Johanan the son of Kareah spoke to Gedaliah in Mizpah secretly, saying, “Please let me go, and I will kill Ishmael the son of Nethaniah, and no man will know it. Why should he take your life, that all the Jews who are gathered to you should be scattered, and the remnant of Judah perish?”

Then Johanan H3110 the son H1121 of Kareah H7143 spake H559 (QalPerf) to Gedaliah H1436 in Mizpah H4709 secretly, H5643 saying, H559 (QalInf) Let me go, H3212 (QalImpf) I pray thee, and I will slay H5221 (HiphImpf) Ishmael H3458 the son H1121 of Nethaniah, H5418 and no man H376 shall know H3045 (QalImpf) [it]: wherefore should he slay H5221 (HiphImpf) H5315 thee, that all the Jews H3064 which are gathered H6908 (NiphPtc) unto thee should be scattered, H6327 (NiphPerf) and the remnant H7611 in Judah H3063 perish? And Johanan son of Kareah hath spoken unto Gedaliah in secret, in Mizpah, saying, ‘Let me go, I pray thee, and I smite Ishmael son of Nethaniah, and no one doth know; why doth he smite thy soul? and scattered have been all Judah who are gathered unto thee, and perished hath the remnant of Judah.’

Then Ishmael carried away captive all of the people who were left in Mizpah, even the king’s daughters, and all the people who remained in Mizpah, whom Nebuzaradan the captain of the guard had committed to Gedaliah the son of Ahikam. Ishmael the son of Nethaniah carried them away captive, and departed to go over to the children of Ammon.

Then Ishmael H3458 carried away captive H7617 (QalImpf) all the residue H7611 of the people H5971 that [were] in Mizpah, H4709 [even] the king’s H4428 daughters, H1323 and all the people H5971 that remained H7604 (NiphPtc) in Mizpah, H4709 whom Nebuzaradan H5018 the captain H7227 of the guard H2876 had committed H6485 (HiphPerf) to Gedaliah H1436 the son H1121 of Ahikam: H296 and Ishmael H3458 the son H1121 of Nethaniah H5418 carried them away captive, H7617 (QalImpf) and departed H3212 (QalImpf) to go over H5674 (QalInf) to the Ammonites. And Ishmael taketh captive all the remnant of the people who are in Mizpah, the daughters of the king, and all the people who are left in Mizpah, whom Nebuzar-Adan, chief of the executioners, hath committed to Gedaliah son of Ahikam, and Ishmael son of Nethaniah taketh them captive, and goeth to pass over unto the sons of Ammon.

then they took all the men, and went to fight with Ishmael the son of Nethaniah, and found him by the great waters that are in Gibeon.

Then they took H3947 (QalImpf) all the men, H582 and went H3212 (QalImpf) to fight H3898 (NiphInf) with Ishmael H3458 the son H1121 of Nethaniah, H5418 and found H4672 (QalImpf) him by the great H7227 waters H4325 that [are] in Gibeon. H1391

and they take all the men, and go to fight with Ishmael son of Nethaniah, and they find him at the great waters that are in Gibeon.

So all the people who Ishmael had carried away captive from Mizpah turned about and came back, and went to Johanan the son of Kareah.

So all the people H5971 that Ishmael H3458 had carried away captive H7617 (QalPerf) from Mizpah H4709 cast about H5437 (QalImpf) and returned, H7725 (QalImpf) and went H3212 (QalImpf) unto Johanan H3110 the son H1121 of Kareah. H7143

And all the people whom Ishmael hath taken captive from Mizpah turn round, yea, they turn back, and go unto Johanan son of Kareah.

But Ishmael the son of Nethaniah escaped from Johanan with eight men, and went to the children of Ammon.

But Ishmael H3458 the son H1121 of Nethaniah H5418 escaped H4422 (NiphPerf) from H6440 Johanan H3110 with eight H8083 men, H582 and went H3212 (QalImpf) to the Ammonites. H1121 H5983

And Ishmael son of Nethaniah hath escaped, with eight men, from the presence of Johanan, and he goeth unto the sons of Ammon.

They departed and lived in Geruth Chimham, which is by Bethlehem, to go to enter into Egypt

And they departed, H3212 (QalImpf) and dwelt in H3427 (QalImpf) the habitation H1628 of Chimham, H3643 which is by H681 Bethlehem, H1035 to go H3212 (QalInf) to enter H935 (QalInf) into Egypt, H4714

and they go and abide in the habitations of Chimham, that are near Beth-Lehem, to go to enter Egypt,

that Yahweh your God may show us the way in which we should walk, and the things that we should do.”

That the Lord H3068 thy God H430 may shew H5046 (HiphImpf) us the way H1870 wherein we may walk, H3212 (QalImpf) and the thing H1697 that we may do. H6213 (QalImpf)

and Jehovah thy God doth declare to us the way in which we walk, and the thing that we do.’

because of their wickedness which they have committed to provoke me to anger, in that they went to burn incense, to serve other gods that they didn’t know, neither they, nor you, nor your fathers.

because of their wickedness that they have done, by provoking Me to anger, by going to make perfume, by serving other gods, that they knew not, they, ye, and your fathers.

Do you seek great things for yourself? Don’t seek them; for, behold, I will bring evil on all flesh,’ says Yahweh, ‘but I will let you escape with your life wherever you go.’ ”

And thou-thou seekest for thee great things-do not seek, for lo, I am bringing in evil on all flesh-an affirmation of Jehovah-and I have given to thee thy life for a spoil, in all places whither thou goest.’
