‘Therefore, lo, days are coming-an affirmation of Jehovah-and this place is not called any more, Tophet, and Valley of the son of Hinnom, but, Valley of slaughter.

“ ‘ “I will make the counsel of Judah and Jerusalem void in this place. I will cause them to fall by the sword before their enemies, and by the hand of those who seek their life. I will give their dead bodies to be food for the birds of the sky and for the animals of the earth.

and shall tell them, ‘Yahweh of Armies says: “Even so I will break this people and this city as one breaks a potter’s vessel, that can’t be made whole again. They will bury in Topheth until there is no place to bury.

And shalt say H559 (QalPerf) unto them, Thus saith H559 (QalPerf) the Lord H3068 of hosts; H6635 Even so H3602 will I break H7665 (QalImpf) this people H5971 and this city, H5892 as [one] breaketh H7665 (QalImpf) a potter’s H3335 (QalActPtc) vessel, H3627 that cannot H3201 (QalImpf) be made whole again: H7495 (NiphInf) and they shall bury H6912 (QalImpf) [them] in Tophet, H8612 till [there be] no place H4725 to bury. and hast said unto them: Thus said Jehovah of Hosts, Thus do I break this people and this city, as one breaketh the potter’s vessel, that is not able to be repaired again, and in Tophet they bury-without place to bury;

This is what I will do to this place,” says Yahweh, “and to its inhabitants, even making this city as Topheth.

so I do to this place-an affirmation of Jehovah-and to its inhabitants, so as to make this city as Tophet;

The houses of Jerusalem and the houses of the kings of Judah, which are defiled, will be as the place of Topheth, even all the houses on whose roofs they have burned incense to all the army of the sky and have poured out drink offerings to other gods.” ’ ”

And the houses H1004 of Jerusalem, H3389 and the houses H1004 of the kings H4428 of Judah, H3063 shall be defiled H2931 as the place H4725 of Tophet, H8612 because of all the houses H1004 upon whose roofs H1406 they have burned incense H6999 (PielPerf) unto all the host H6635 of heaven, H8064 and have poured out H5258 (HiphInf) drink offerings H5262 unto other H312 gods. and the houses of Jerusalem, and the houses of the kings of Judah, have been-as the place of Tophet-defiled, even all the houses on whose roofs they have made perfume to all the host of the heavens, so as to pour out oblations to other gods.’

Yahweh says: “Execute justice and righteousness, and deliver him who is robbed out of the hand of the oppressor. Do no wrong. Do no violence to the foreigner, the fatherless, or the widow. Don’t shed innocent blood in this place.

Thus said Jehovah: Do ye judgment and righteousness, And deliver the plundered from the hand of the oppressor, And sojourner, orphan, and widow, ye do not oppress nor wrong, And innocent blood ye do not shed in this place.

For Yahweh says touching Shallum the son of Josiah, king of Judah, who reigned instead of Josiah his father, and who went out of this place: “He won’t return there any more.

For thus saith H559 (QalPerf) the Lord H3068 touching H413 Shallum H7967 the son H1121 of Josiah H2977 king H4428 of Judah, H3063 which reigned H4427 (QalActPtc) instead of Josiah H2977 his father, H1 which went forth H3318 (QalPerf) out of this place; H4725 He shall not return H7725 (QalImpf) thither any more:

For thus said Jehovah concerning Shallum son of Josiah king of Judah, who is reigning instead of Josiah his father, who hath gone forth from this place: He doth not turn back hither again;

But he will die in the place where they have led him captive. He will see this land no more.”

But he shall die H4191 (QalImpf) in the place H4725 whither they have led him captive, H1540 (HiphPerf) and shall see H7200 (QalImpf) this land H776 no more.

For in the place whither they have removed him he dieth, And this land he doth not see again.

“Yahweh, the God of Israel says: ‘Like these good figs, so I will regard the captives of Judah, whom I have sent out of this place into the land of the Chaldeans, as good.

Thus said Jehovah, God of Israel, Like these good figs so do I acknowledge The removed of Judah-that I sent from this place, To the land of the Chaldeans-for good.

I will even give them up to be tossed back and forth among all the kingdoms of the earth for evil, to be a reproach and a proverb, a taunt and a curse, in all places where I will drive them.

Within two years of days I am bringing back unto this place all the vessels of the house of Jehovah that Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon hath taken from this place, and doth carry to Babylon,

Yea, Jeremiah the prophet saith, ‘Amen! so may Jehovah do; Jehovah establish thy words that thou hast prophesied, to bring back the vessels of the house of Jehovah and all the removal from Babylon, unto this place.

For Yahweh says, “After seventy years are accomplished for Babylon, I will visit you and perform my good word toward you, in causing you to return to this place.

For thus saith H559 (QalPerf) the Lord, H3068 That after H6310 seventy H7657 years H8141 be accomplished H4390 (QalInf) at Babylon H894 I will visit H6485 (QalImpf) you, and perform H6965 (HiphPerf) my good H2896 word H1697 toward you, in causing you to return H7725 (HiphInf) to this place. H4725

‘For thus said Jehovah, Surely at the fulness of Babylon-seventy years-I inspect you, and have established towards you My good word, to bring you back unto this place.

I will be found by you,” says Yahweh, “and I will turn again your captivity, and I will gather you from all the nations, and from all the places where I have driven you, says Yahweh. I will bring you again to the place from where I caused you to be carried away captive.”

And I will be found H4672 (NiphPerf) of you, saith H5002 (QalPasPtc) the Lord: H3068 and I will turn away H7725 (QalPerf) your captivity, H7622 (Qere) H7622 and I will gather H6908 (PielPerf) you from all the nations, H1471 and from all the places H4725 whither I have driven H5080 (HiphPerf) you, saith H5002 (QalPasPtc) the Lord; H3068 and I will bring you again H7725 (HiphPerf) into the place H4725 whence I caused you to be carried away captive. And I have been found of you-an affirmation of Jehovah; and I have turned back to your captivity, and have gathered you out of all the nations, and out of all the places whither I have driven you-an affirmation of Jehovah-and I have brought you back unto the place whence I removed you.

“Behold, I will gather them out of all the countries where I have driven them in my anger, and in my wrath, and in great indignation; and I will bring them again to this place. I will cause them to dwell safely.

Behold, I will gather them out H6908 (PielPtc) of all countries, H776 whither I have driven H5080 (HiphPerf) them in mine anger, H639 and in my fury, H2534 and in great H1419 wrath; H7110 and I will bring them again H7725 (HiphPerf) unto this place, H4725 and I will cause them to dwell H3427 (HiphPerf) safely: H983

Lo, I am gathering them out of all the lands whither I have driven them in Mine anger, and in My fury, and in great wrath, and I have brought them back unto this place, and have caused them to dwell confidently;

Yahweh says: “Yet again there will be heard in this place, about which you say, ‘It is waste, without man and without animal, even in the cities of Judah, and in the streets of Jerusalem, that are desolate, without man and without inhabitant and without animal,’

Thus saith H559 (QalPerf) the Lord; H3068 Again there shall be heard H8085 (NiphImpf) in this place, H4725 which ye say H559 (QalActPtc) [shall be] desolate H2720 without man H120 and without beast, H929 [even] in the cities H5892 of Judah, H3063 and in the streets H2351 of Jerusalem, H3389 that are desolate, H8074 (NiphPtc) without man, H120 and without inhabitant, H3427 (QalActPtc) and without beast, H929

Thus said Jehovah: Again heard in this place of which ye are saying, Waste it is, without man and without beast, In cities of Judah, and in streets of Jerusalem, That are desolated, without man, And without inhabitant, and without beast,

Yahweh of Armies says: “Yet again there will be in this place, which is waste, without man and without animal, and in all its cities, a habitation of shepherds causing their flocks to lie down.

Thus saith H559 (QalPerf) the Lord H3068 of hosts; H6635 Again in this place, H4725 which is desolate H2720 without man H120 and without beast, H929 and in all the cities H5892 thereof, shall be an habitation H5116 of shepherds H7462 (QalActPtc) causing [their] flocks H6629 to lie down. H7257 (HiphPtc)

Thus said Jehovah of Hosts: Again there is in this place-that is waste, Without man and beast, And in all its cities-a habitation of shepherds, Causing the flock to lie down.

The captain of the guard took Jeremiah and said to him, “Yahweh your God pronounced this evil on this place;

And the captain H7227 of the guard H2876 took H3947 (QalImpf) Jeremiah, H3414 and said H559 (QalImpf) unto him, The Lord H3068 thy God H430 hath pronounced H1696 (PielPerf) this evil H7451 upon this place. H4725

And the chief of the executioners taketh Jeremiah, and saith unto him, ‘Jehovah thy God hath spoken this evil concerning this place,

then all the Jews returned out of all places where they were driven, and came to the land of Judah, to Gedaliah, to Mizpah, and gathered very much wine and summer fruits.

Even all the Jews H3064 returned out H7725 (QalImpf) of all places H4725 whither they were driven, H5080 (NiphPerf) and came H935 (QalImpf) to the land H776 of Judah, H3063 to Gedaliah, H1436 unto Mizpah, H4708 and gathered H622 (QalImpf) wine H3196 and summer fruits H7019 very H3966 much. and all the Jews from all the places whither they have been driven, turn back and enter the land of Judah, unto Gedaliah, to Mizpah, and they gather wine and summer fruit-very much.

For Yahweh of Armies, the God of Israel, says: ‘As my anger and my wrath has been poured out on the inhabitants of Jerusalem, so my wrath will be poured out on you, when you enter into Egypt; and you will be an object of horror, an astonishment, a curse, and a reproach; and you will see this place no more.’

For thus saith H559 (QalPerf) the Lord H3068 of hosts, H6635 the God H430 of Israel; H3478 As mine anger H639 and my fury H2534 hath been poured forth H5413 (NiphPerf) upon the inhabitants H3427 (QalActPtc) of Jerusalem; H3389 so shall my fury H2534 be poured forth H5413 (QalImpf) upon you, when ye shall enter H935 (QalInf) into Egypt: H4714 and ye shall be an execration, H423 and an astonishment, H8047 and a curse, H7045 and a reproach; H2781 and ye shall see H7200 (QalImpf) this place H4725 no more.

for thus said Jehovah of Hosts, God of Israel: As poured out hath been Mine anger and My fury on the inhabitants of Jerusalem, so poured out is My fury upon you in your entering Egypt, and ye have been for an execration, and for an astonishment, and for a reviling, and for a reproach, and ye do not see any more this place.

Now therefore know certainly that you will die by the sword, by the famine, and by the pestilence in the place where you desire to go to live.”

And now, know ye certainly that by sword, by famine, and by pestilence ye die, in the place that ye have desired to go in to sojourn there.’

“ ‘This will be the sign to you,’ says Yahweh, ‘that I will punish you in this place, that you may know that my words will surely stand against you for evil.’

And this [shall be] a sign H226 unto you, saith H5002 (QalPasPtc) the Lord, H3068 that I will punish H6485 (QalActPtc) you in this place, H4725 that ye may know H3045 (QalImpf) that my words H1697 shall surely H6965 (QalInf) stand H6965 (QalImpf) against you for evil: H7451

‘And this is to you the sign-an affirmation of Jehovah-that I am seeing after you in this place, so that ye know that My words are certainly established against you for evil;

Do you seek great things for yourself? Don’t seek them; for, behold, I will bring evil on all flesh,’ says Yahweh, ‘but I will let you escape with your life wherever you go.’ ”

And seekest H1245 (PielImpf) thou great things H1419 for thyself? seek H1245 (PielImpf) [them] not: for, behold, I will bring H935 (HiphPtc) evil H7451 upon all flesh, H1320 saith H5002 (QalPasPtc) the Lord: H3068 but thy life H5315 will I give H5414 (QalPerf) unto thee for a prey H7998 in all places H4725 whither thou goest. And thou-thou seekest for thee great things-do not seek, for lo, I am bringing in evil on all flesh-an affirmation of Jehovah-and I have given to thee thy life for a spoil, in all places whither thou goest.’
