[1] Now while the multitude pressed on him and heard the word of God, he was standing by the lake of Gennesaret. [2] He saw two boats standing by the lake, but the fishermen had gone out of them and were washing their nets. [3] He entered into one of the boats, which was Simon’s, and asked him to put out a little from the land. He sat down and taught the multitudes from the boat. [4] When he had finished speaking, he said to Simon, “Put out into the deep and let down your nets for a catch.” [5] Simon answered him, “Master, we worked all night and caught nothing; but at your word I will let down the net.” [6] When they had done this, they caught a great multitude of fish, and their net was breaking. [7] They beckoned to their partners in the other boat, that they should come and help them. They came and filled both boats, so that they began to sink. [8] But Simon Peter, when he saw it, fell down at Jesus’ knees, saying, “Depart from me, for I am a sinful man, Lord.” [9] For he was amazed, and all who were with him, at the catch of fish which they had caught; [10] and so also were James and John, sons of Zebedee, who were partners with Simon.Jesus said to Simon, “Don’t be afraid. From now on you will be catching people alive.” [11] When they had brought their boats to land, they left everything, and followed him. [12] While he was in one of the cities, behold, there was a man full of leprosy. When he saw Jesus, he fell on his face and begged him, saying, “Lord, if you want to, you can make me clean.” [13] He stretched out his hand and touched him, saying, “I want to. Be made clean.”Immediately the leprosy left him. [14] He commanded him to tell no one, “But go your way and show yourself to the priest, and offer for your cleansing according to what Moses commanded, for a testimony to them.” [15] But the report concerning him spread much more, and great multitudes came together to hear and to be healed by him of their infirmities. [16] But he withdrew himself into the desert and prayed. [17] On one of those days, he was teaching; and there were Pharisees and teachers of the law sitting by who had come out of every village of Galilee, Judea, and Jerusalem. The power of the Lord was with him to heal them. [18] Behold, men brought a paralyzed man on a cot, and they sought to bring him in to lay before Jesus. [19] Not finding a way to bring him in because of the multitude, they went up to the housetop and let him down through the tiles with his cot into the middle before Jesus. [20] Seeing their faith, he said to him, “Man, your sins are forgiven you.” [21] The scribes and the Pharisees began to reason, saying, “Who is this who speaks blasphemies? Who can forgive sins, but God alone?” [22] But Jesus, perceiving their thoughts, answered them, “Why are you reasoning so in your hearts? [23] Which is easier to say, ‘Your sins are forgiven you,’ or to say, ‘Arise and walk’? [24] But that you may know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins,” he said to the paralyzed man, “I tell you, arise, take up your cot, and go to your house.” [25] Immediately he rose up before them, and took up that which he was laying on, and departed to his house, glorifying God. [26] Amazement took hold on all, and they glorified God. They were filled with fear, saying, “We have seen strange things today.” [27] After these things he went out and saw a tax collector named Levi sitting at the tax office, and said to him, “Follow me!” [28] He left everything, and rose up and followed him. [29] Levi made a great feast for him in his house. There was a great crowd of tax collectors and others who were reclining with them. [30] Their scribes and the Pharisees murmured against his disciples, saying, “Why do you eat and drink with the tax collectors and sinners?” [31] Jesus answered them, “Those who are healthy have no need for a physician, but those who are sick do. [32] I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners, to repentance.” [33] They said to him, “Why do John’s disciples often fast and pray, likewise also the disciples of the Pharisees, but yours eat and drink?” [34] He said to them, “Can you make the friends of the bridegroom fast while the bridegroom is with them? [35] But the days will come when the bridegroom will be taken away from them. Then they will fast in those days.” [36] He also told a parable to them. “No one puts a piece from a new garment on an old garment, or else he will tear the new, and also the piece from the new will not match the old. [37] No one puts new wine into old wine skins, or else the new wine will burst the skins, and it will be spilled and the skins will be destroyed. [38] But new wine must be put into fresh wine skins, and both are preserved. [39] No man having drunk old wine immediately desires new, for he says, ‘The old is better.’ ”

[1] AndG1161 it came to pass,G1096(Aor2MidDepInd) that, asG1722 the peopleG3793 pressed uponG1945(PresMidPasDepInf) himG846 to hearG191(PresActInf) the wordG3056 of God,G2316 heG846 stoodG2258(ImpfInd) byG3844 the lakeG3041 of Gennesaret,G1082 [2] AndG2532 sawG1492(Aor2ActInd) twoG1417 shipsG4143 standingG2476(PerfActPtc) byG3844 the lake:G3041 butG1161 the fishermenG231 were goneG576(Aor2ActPtc) out ofG575 them,G846 and were washingG637(AorActInd) [their] nets.G1350 [3] AndG1161 he enteredG1684(Aor2ActPtc) intoG1519 oneG1520 of the ships,G4143 whichG3739 wasG2258(ImpfInd) Simon’s,G4613 and prayedG2065(AorActInd) himG846 that he would thrust outG1877(Aor2ActInf) a littleG3641 fromG575 the land.G1093 AndG2532 he sat down,G2523(AorActPtc) and taughtG1321(ImpfActInd) the peopleG3793 out ofG1537 the ship.G4143 [4] NowG1161 whenG5613 he had leftG3973(AorMidInd) speaking,G2980(PresActPtc) he saidG2036(Aor2ActInd) untoG4314 Simon,G4613 Launch outG1877(Aor2ActImpr) intoG1519 the deep,G899 andG2532 let downG5465(AorActImpr) yourG5216 netsG1350 forG1519 a draught.G61 [5] AndG2532 SimonG4613 answeringG611(AorPasDepPtc) saidG2036(Aor2ActInd) unto him,G846 Master,G1988 we have toiledG2872(AorActPtc) allG3650 the night,G3571 and have takenG2983(Aor2ActInd) nothing:G3762 neverthelessG1161 atG1909 thyG4675 wordG4487 I will let downG5465(FutActInd) the net.G1350 [6] AndG2532 when they hadG4160 thisG5124 done,G4160(AorActPtc) they inclosedG4788(AorActInd) a greatG4183 multitudeG4128 of fishes:G2486 andG1161 theirG846 netG1350 brake.G1284(ImpfPasInd) [7] AndG2532 they beckonedG2656(AorActInd) unto [their] partners,G3353 whichG3588 were inG1722 the otherG2087 ship,G4143 that they should comeG2064(Aor2ActPtc) and helpG4815(Aor2MidInf) them.G846 AndG2532 they came,G2064(Aor2ActInd) andG2532 filledG4130(AorActInd) bothG297 the ships,G4143 soG5620 that theyG846 began to sink.G1036(PresPasInf) [8] WhenG1161 SimonG4613 PeterG4074 sawG1492(Aor2ActPtc) [it], he fell down atG4363(Aor2ActInd) Jesus’G2424 knees,G1119 saying,G3004(PresActPtc) DepartG1831(Aor2ActImpr) fromG575 me;G1700 forG3754 I amG1510(PresInd) a sinfulG268 man,G435 O Lord.G2962 [9] ForG1063 heG846 was astonished,G4023(Aor2ActInd) andG2532 allG3956 that wereG4862 with him,G846 atG1909 the draughtG61 of the fishesG2486 whichG3739 they had taken:G4815(Aor2ActInd) [10] AndG1161 soG3668 [was] alsoG2532 James,G2385 andG2532 John,G2491 the sonsG5207 of Zebedee,G2199 whichG3739 wereG2258(ImpfInd) partnersG2844 with Simon.G4613 AndG2532 JesusG2424 saidG2036(Aor2ActInd) untoG4314 Simon,G4613 FearG5399(PresMidPasDepImpr) not;G3361 fromG575 henceforthG3568 thou shaltG2071(FutInd) catchG2221(PresActPtc) men.G444 [11] AndG2532 when they had broughtG2609(Aor2ActPtc) their shipsG4143 toG1909 land,G1093 they forsookG863(Aor2ActPtc) all,G537 and followedG190(AorActInd) him.G846 [12] AndG2532 it came to pass,G1096(Aor2MidDepInd) when heG846 wasG1511(PresInf) inG1722 a certainG3391 city,G4172 beholdG2400(Aor2ActImpr) a manG435 fullG4134 of leprosy:G3014 whoG2532 seeingG1492(Aor2ActPtc) JesusG2424 fellG4098(Aor2ActPtc) onG1909 [his] face,G4383 and besoughtG1189(AorPasInd) him,G846 saying,G3004(PresActPtc) Lord,G2962 ifG1437 thou wilt,G2309(PresActSubj) thou canstG1410(PresMidPasDepInd) makeG2511 meG3165 clean.G2511(AorActInf) [13] AndG2532 he put forthG1614(AorActPtc) [his] hand,G5495 and touchedG680(AorMidDepInd) him,G846 saying,G2036(Aor2ActPtc) I will:G2309(PresActInd) be thou clean.G2511(AorPasImpr) AndG2532 immediatelyG2112 the leprosyG3014 departedG565(Aor2ActInd) fromG575 him.G846 [14] AndG2532 heG846 chargedG3853(AorActInd) himG846 to tellG2036(Aor2ActInf) no man:G3367 butG235 go,G565(Aor2ActPtc) and shewG1166(AorActImpr) thyselfG4572 to the priest,G2409 andG2532 offerG4374(Aor2ActImpr) forG4012 thyG4675 cleansing,G2512 according asG2531 MosesG3475 commanded,G4367(AorActInd) forG1519 a testimonyG3142 unto them.G846 [15] ButG1161 so much the moreG3123 went thereG1330 a fameG3056 abroadG1330(ImpfMidPasDepInd) ofG4012 him:G846 andG2532 greatG4183 multitudesG3793 came togetherG4905(ImpfMidPasDepInd) to hear,G191(PresActInf) andG2532 to be healedG2323(PresPasInf) byG5259 himG846 ofG575 theirG846 infirmities.G769 [16] AndG1161 he withdrewG2258(ImpfInd) himselfG846 intoG1722 the wilderness,G2048 andG2532 prayed.G4336(PresMidPasDepPtc) [17] AndG2532 it came to passG1096(Aor2MidDepInd) onG1722 a certainG3391 day,G2250 asG2532 heG846 wasG2258(ImpfInd) teaching,G1321(PresActPtc) thatG2532 there wereG2258(ImpfInd) PhariseesG5330 andG2532 doctors of the lawG3547 sitting by,G2521(PresMidPasDepPtc) whichG3739 wereG2258(ImpfInd) comeG2064(Perf2ActPtc) out ofG1537 everyG3956 townG2968 of Galilee,G1056 andG2532 Judaea,G2449 andG2532 Jerusalem:G2419 andG2532 the powerG1411 of the LordG2962 wasG2258(ImpfInd) [present] toG1519 healG2390(PresMidPasDepInf) them.G846 [18] And,G2532 behold,G2400(Aor2ActImpr) menG435 broughtG5342(PresActPtc) inG1909 a bedG2825 a manG444 whichG3739 wasG2258(ImpfInd) taken with a palsy:G3886(PerfPasPtc) andG2532 they soughtG2212(ImpfActInd) [means] to bringG1533 himG846 in,G1533(Aor2ActInf) andG2532 to layG5087(Aor2ActInf) [him] beforeG1799 him.G846 [19] AndG2532 when they couldG2147 notG3361 findG2147(Aor2ActPtc) byG1223 whatG4169 [way] they might bringG1533 himG846 inG1533(Aor2ActSubj) becauseG1223 of the multitude,G3793 they wentG305(Aor2ActPtc) uponG1909 the housetop,G1430 and letG2524 himG846 downG2524(AorActInd) throughG1223 the tilingG2766 withG4862 [his] couchG2826 intoG1519 the midstG3319 beforeG1715 Jesus.G2424 [20] AndG2532 when he sawG1492(Aor2ActPtc) theirG846 faith,G4102 he saidG2036(Aor2ActInd) unto him,G846 Man,G444 thyG4675 sinsG266 are forgivenG863(PerfPasInd) thee.G4671 [21] AndG2532 the scribesG1122 andG2532 the PhariseesG5330 beganG756(AorMidDepInd) to reason,G1260(PresMidPasDepInf) saying,G3004(PresActPtc) WhoG5101 isG2076(PresInd) thisG3778 whichG3739 speakethG2980(PresActInd) blasphemies?G988 WhoG5101 canG1410(PresMidPasDepInd) forgiveG863(PresActInf) sins,G266 butG1508 GodG2316 alone?G3441 [22] ButG1161 when JesusG2424 perceivedG1921(Aor2ActPtc) theirG846 thoughts,G1261 he answeringG611(AorPasDepPtc) saidG2036(Aor2ActInd) untoG4314 them,G846 WhatG5101 reason yeG1260(PresMidPasDepInd) inG1722 yourG5216 hearts?G2588 [23] WhetherG5101 isG2076(PresInd) easier,G2123 to say,G2036(Aor2ActInf) ThyG4675 sinsG266 be forgivenG863(PerfPasInd) thee;G4671 orG2228 to say,G2036(Aor2ActInf) Rise upG1453(AorMidImpr) andG2532 walk?G4043(PresActImpr) [24] ButG1161 thatG2443 ye may knowG1492(PerfActSubj) thatG3754 the SonG5207 of manG444 hathG2192(PresActInd) powerG1849 uponG1909 earthG1093 to forgiveG863(PresActInf) sins,G266 (he saidG2036(Aor2ActInd) unto the sick of the palsy,G3886(PerfPasPtc)) I sayG3004(PresActInd) unto thee,G4671 Arise,G1453(AorMidImpr) andG2532 take upG142(AorActPtc) thyG4675 couch,G2826 and goG4198(PresMidPasDepImpr) intoG1519 thineG4675 house.G3624 [25] AndG2532 immediatelyG3916 he rose upG450(Aor2ActPtc) beforeG1799 them,G846 and took upG142(AorActPtc) that whereonG1909 he lay,G2621(ImpfMidPasDepInd) and departedG565(Aor2ActInd) toG1519 his ownG846 house,G3624 glorifyingG1392(PresActPtc) God.G2316 [26] AndG2532 they wereG2983(Aor2ActInd) allG537 amazed,G1611 andG2532 they glorifiedG1392(ImpfActInd) God,G2316 andG2532 were filledG4130(AorPasInd) with fear,G5401 saying,G3004(PresActPtc) We have seenG1492(Aor2ActInd) strange thingsG3861 to day.G4594 [27] AndG2532 afterG3326 these thingsG5023 he went forth,G1831(Aor2ActInd) andG2532 sawG2300(AorMidDepInd) a publican,G5057 namedG3686 Levi,G3018 sittingG2521(PresMidPasDepPtc) atG1909 the receipt of custom:G5058 andG2532 he saidG2036(Aor2ActInd) unto him,G846 FollowG190(PresActImpr) me.G3427 [28] AndG2532 he leftG2641(Aor2ActPtc) all,G537 rose up,G450(Aor2ActPtc) and followedG190(AorActInd) him.G846 [29] AndG2532 LeviG3018 madeG4160(AorActInd) himG846 a greatG3173 feastG1403 inG1722 his ownG846 house:G3614 andG2532 there wasG2258(ImpfInd) a greatG4183 companyG3793 of publicansG5057 andG2532 of othersG243 thatG3739 sat downG2258(ImpfInd) withG3326 them.G846 [30] ButG2532 theirG846 scribesG1122 andG2532 PhariseesG5330 murmuredG1111(ImpfActInd) againstG4314 hisG846 disciples,G3101 saying,G3004(PresActPtc) WhyG1302 do ye eatG2068(PresActInd) andG2532 drinkG4095(PresActInd) withG3326 publicansG5057 andG2532 sinners?G268 [31] AndG2532 JesusG2424 answeringG611(AorPasDepPtc) saidG2036(Aor2ActInd) untoG4314 them,G846 They that are wholeG5198(PresActPtc) needG5532 notG3756 a physician;G2395 butG235 they that areG2192(PresActPtc) sick.G2560 [32] I cameG2064(Perf2ActInd) notG3756 to callG2564(AorActInf) the righteous,G1342 butG235 sinnersG268 toG1519 repentance.G3341 [33] AndG1161 they saidG2036(Aor2ActInd) untoG4314 him,G846 WhyG1302 doG3522 the disciplesG3101 of JohnG2491 fastG3522(PresActInd) often,G4437 andG2532 makeG4160(PresMidInd) prayers,G1162 andG2532 likewiseG3668 [the disciplesG3588] of the Pharisees;G5330 butG1161 thineG4674 eatG2068(PresActInd) andG2532 drink?G4095(PresActInd) [34] AndG1161 he saidG2036(Aor2ActInd) untoG4314 them,G846 Can yeG1410(PresMidPasDepInd) makeG4160(AorActInf) the childrenG5207 of the bridechamberG3567 fast,G3522(PresActInf) whileG3739 the bridegroomG3566 isG2076(PresInd) withG3326 them?G846 [35] ButG1161 the daysG2250 will come,G2064(FutMidDepInd) whenG3752 the bridegroomG3566 shall be taken awayG522(AorPasSubj) fromG575 them,G846 and thenG5119 shall they fastG3522(FutActInd) inG1722 thoseG1565 days.G2250 [36] AndG1161 he spakeG3004(ImpfActInd) alsoG2532 a parableG3850 untoG4314 them;G846 No manG3762 puttethG1911(PresActInd) a pieceG1915 of a newG2537 garmentG2440 uponG1909 an old;G2440 if otherwise, thenG1490 bothG2532 the newG2537 maketh a rent,G4977(PresActInd) andG2532 the pieceG1915 that was [taken] out ofG575 the newG2537 agreethG4856(PresActInd) notG3756 with the old.G3820 [37] AndG2532 no manG3762 puttethG906(PresActInd) newG3501 wineG3631 intoG1519 oldG3820 bottles;G779 elseG1490 the newG3501 wineG3631 will burstG4486(FutActInd) the bottles,G779 andG2532 be spilled,G1632(FutPasInd) andG2532 the bottlesG779 shall perish.G622(FutMidInd) [38] ButG235 newG3501 wineG3631 must be putG992 intoG1519 newG2537 bottles;G779 andG2532 bothG297 are preserved.G4933(PresPasInd) [39] No manG3762 alsoG2532 having drunkG4095(Aor2ActPtc) oldG3820 [wine] straightwayG2112 desirethG2309(PresActInd) new:G3501 forG1063 he saith,G3004(PresActInd) The oldG3820 isG2076(PresInd) better.G5543
