[1] Again, in the ninth year, in the tenth month, in the tenth day of the month, Yahweh’s word came to me, saying, [2] “Son of man, write the name of the day, this same day. The king of Babylon drew close to Jerusalem this same day. [3] Utter a parable to the rebellious house, and tell them, ‘The Lord Yahweh says,
“Put the cauldron on the fire.
Put it on,
and also pour water into it.
[4] Gather its pieces into it,
even every good piece:
the thigh and the shoulder.
Fill it with the choice bones.
[5] Take the choice of the flock,
and also a pile of wood for the bones under the cauldron.
Make it boil well.
Yes, let its bones be boiled within it.” [6] “ ‘Therefore the Lord Yahweh says:
“Woe to the bloody city,
to the cauldron whose rust is in it,
and whose rust hasn’t gone out of it!
Take out of it piece after piece
without casting lots for it. [7] “ ‘ “For the blood she shed is in the middle of her.
She set it on the bare rock.
She didn’t pour it on the ground,
to cover it with dust.
[8] That it may cause wrath to come up to take vengeance,
I have set her blood on the bare rock,
that it should not be covered.” [9] “ ‘Therefore the Lord Yahweh says:
“Woe to the bloody city!
I also will make the pile great.
[10] Heap on the wood.
Make the fire hot.
Boil the meat well.
Make the broth thick,
and let the bones be burned.
[11] Then set it empty on its coals,
that it may be hot,
and its bronze may burn,
and that its filthiness may be molten in it,
that its rust may be consumed.
[12] She is weary with toil;
yet her great rust,
rust by fire, doesn’t leave her. [13] “ ‘ “In your filthiness is lewdness. Because I have cleansed you and you weren’t cleansed, you won’t be cleansed from your filthiness any more, until I have caused my wrath toward you to rest. [14] “ ‘ “I, Yahweh, have spoken it. It will happen, and I will do it. I won’t go back. I won’t spare. I won’t repent. According to your ways and according to your doings, they will judge you,” says the Lord Yahweh.’ ” [15] Also Yahweh’s word came to me, saying, [16] “Son of man, behold, I will take away from you the desire of your eyes with one stroke; yet you shall neither mourn nor weep, neither shall your tears run down. [17] Sigh, but not aloud. Make no mourning for the dead. Bind your headdress on you, and put your sandals on your feet. Don’t cover your lips, and don’t eat mourner’s bread.” [18] So I spoke to the people in the morning, and at evening my wife died. So I did in the morning as I was commanded. [19] The people asked me, “Won’t you tell us what these things mean to us, that you act like this?” [20] Then I said to them, “Yahweh’s word came to me, saying, [21] ‘Speak to the house of Israel, “The Lord Yahweh says: ‘Behold, I will profane my sanctuary, the pride of your power, the desire of your eyes, and that which your soul pities; and your sons and your daughters whom you have left behind will fall by the sword. [22] You will do as I have done. You won’t cover your lips or eat mourner’s bread. [23] Your turbans will be on your heads, and your sandals on your feet. You won’t mourn or weep; but you will pine away in your iniquities, and moan one toward another. [24] Thus Ezekiel will be a sign to you; according to all that he has done, you will do. When this comes, then you will know that I am the Lord Yahweh.’ ” ’ ” [25] “You, son of man, shouldn’t it be in the day when I take from them their strength, the joy of their glory, the desire of their eyes, and that whereupon they set their heart—their sons and their daughters— [26] that in that day he who escapes will come to you, to cause you to hear it with your ears? [27] In that day your mouth will be opened to him who has escaped, and you will speak and be no more mute. So you will be a sign to them. Then they will know that I am Yahweh.”

King James Version
[1] Again in the ninthH8671 year,H8141 in the tenthH6224 month,H2320 in the tenthH6218 [day] of the month,H2320 the wordH1697 of the LordH3068 came unto me, saying,H559(QalInf) [2] SonH1121 of man,H120 writeH3789(QalImpv) thee the nameH8034 of the day,H3117 [even] of this sameH6106 day:H3117 the kingH4428 of BabylonH894 setH5564(QalPerf) himself against JerusalemH3389 this sameH6106 day.H3117 [3] And utterH4911(QalImpv) a parableH4912 unto the rebelliousH4805 house,H1004 and sayH559(QalPerf) unto them, Thus saithH559(QalPerf) the LordH136 God;H3069 Set onH8239(QalImpv) a pot,H5518 set [it] on,H8239(QalImpv) and also pourH3332(QalImpv) waterH4325 into it: [4] GatherH622(QalImpv) the piecesH5409 thereof into it, [even] every goodH2896 piece,H5409 the thigh,H3409 and the shoulder;H3802 fillH4390(PielImpv) [it] with the choiceH4005 bones.H6106 [5] TakeH3947(QalInf) the choiceH4005 of the flock,H6629 and burnH1754 also the bonesH6106 under it, [and] make it boilH7570(PielImpv) well,H7571 and let them seetheH1310(QalPerf) the bonesH6106 of it therein.H8432 [6] Wherefore thus saithH559(QalPerf) the LordH136 God;H3069 WoeH188 to the bloodyH1818 city,H5892 to the potH5518 whose scumH2457 [is] therein, and whose scumH2457 is not gone outH3318(QalPerf) of it! bring it outH3318(HiphImpv) pieceH5409 by piece;H5409 let no lotH1486 fallH5307(QalPerf) upon it. [7] For her bloodH1818 is in the midstH8432 of her; she setH7760(QalPerf) it upon the topH6706 of a rock;H5553 she pouredH8210(QalPerf) it not upon the ground,H776 to coverH3680(PielInf) it with dust;H6083 [8] That it might cause furyH2534 to come upH5927(HiphInf) to takeH5358(QalInf) vengeance;H5359 I have setH5414(QalPerf) her bloodH1818 upon the topH6706 of a rock,H5553 that it should not be covered.H3680(NiphInf) [9] Therefore thus saithH559(QalPerf) the LordH136 God;H3069 WoeH188 to the bloodyH1818 city!H5892 I will even make the pileH4071 for fire great.H1431(HiphImpf) [10] HeapH7235(HiphImpv) on wood,H6086 kindleH1814(HiphInf) the fire,H784 consumeH8552(HiphInf) the flesh,H1320 and spiceH7543(HiphInf) it well,H4841 and let the bonesH6106 be burned.H2787(NiphImpf) [11] Then setH5975(HiphInf) it emptyH7386 upon the coalsH1513 thereof, that the brassH5178 of it may be hot,H3179(QalImpf) and may burn,H2787(QalPerf) and [that] the filthinessH2932 of it may be moltenH5413(NiphPerf) in it,H8432 [that] the scumH2457 of it may be consumed.H8552(QalImpf) [12] She hath weariedH3811(HiphPerf) [herself] with lies,H8383 and her greatH7227 scumH2457 went not forthH3318(QalImpf) out of her: her scumH2457 [shall be] in the fire.H784 [13] In thy filthinessH2932 [is] lewdness:H2154 because I have purgedH2891(PielPerf) thee, and thou wast not purged,H2891(QalPerf) thou shalt not be purgedH2891(QalImpf) from thy filthinessH2932 any more, till I have caused my furyH2534 to restH5117(HiphInf) upon thee. [14] I the LordH3068 have spokenH1696(PielPerf) [it]: it shall come to pass,H935(QalActPtc) and I will doH6213(QalPerf) [it]; I will not go back,H6544(QalImpf) neither will I spare,H2347(QalImpf) neither will I repent;H5162(NiphImpf) according to thy ways,H1870 and according to thy doings,H5949 shall they judgeH8199(QalPerf) thee, saithH5002(QalPasPtc) the LordH136 God.H3069 [15] Also the wordH1697 of the LordH3068 came unto me, saying,H559(QalInf) [16] SonH1121 of man,H120 behold, I take awayH3947(QalActPtc) from thee the desireH4261 of thine eyesH5869 with a stroke:H4046 yet neither shalt thou mournH5594(QalImpf) nor weep,H1058(QalImpf) neither shall thy tearsH1832 run down.H935(QalImpf) [17] ForbearH1826(QalImpv) to cry,H602(NiphInf) makeH6213(QalImpf) no mourningH60 for the dead,H4191(QalPtc) bindH2280(QalImpv) the tire of thine headH6287 upon thee, and put onH7760(QalImpf) thy shoesH5275 upon thy feet,H7272 and coverH5844(QalImpf) not [thy] lips,H8222 and eatH398(QalImpf) not the breadH3899 of men.H582 [18] So I spakeH1696(PielImpf) unto the peopleH5971 in the morning:H1242 and at evenH6153 my wifeH802 died;H4191(QalImpf) and I didH6213(QalImpf) in the morningH1242 as I was commanded.H6680(PualPerf) [19] And the peopleH5971 saidH559(QalImpf) unto me, Wilt thou not tellH5046(HiphImpf) us what these [things are] to us, that thou doestH6213(QalActPtc) [so]? [20] Then I answeredH559(QalImpf) them, The wordH1697 of the LordH3068 came unto me, saying,H559(QalInf) [21] SpeakH559(QalImpv) unto the houseH1004 of Israel,H3478 Thus saithH559(QalPerf) the LordH136 God;H3069 Behold, I will profaneH2490(PielPtc) my sanctuary,H4720 the excellencyH1347 of your strength,H5797 the desireH4261 of your eyes,H5869 and that which your soulH5315 pitieth;H4263 and your sonsH1121 and your daughtersH1323 whom ye have leftH5800(QalPerf) shall fallH5307(QalImpf) by the sword.H2719 [22] And ye shall doH6213(QalPerf) as I have done:H6213(QalPerf) ye shall not coverH5844(QalImpf) [your] lips,H8222 nor eatH398(QalImpf) the breadH3899 of men.H582 [23] And your tiresH6287 [shall be] upon your heads,H7218 and your shoesH5275 upon your feet:H7272 ye shall not mournH5594(QalImpf) nor weep;H1058(QalImpf) but ye shall pine awayH4743(NiphPerf) for your iniquities,H5771 and mournH5098(QalPerf) oneH376 toward another.H251 [24] Thus EzekielH3168 is unto you a sign:H4159 according to all that he hath doneH6213(QalPerf) shall ye do:H6213(QalImpf) and when this cometh,H935(QalInf) ye shall knowH3045(QalPerf) that I [am] the LordH136 God.H3069 [25] Also, thou sonH1121 of man,H120 [shall it] not [be] in the dayH3117 when I takeH3947(QalInf) from them their strength,H4581 the joyH4885 of their glory,H8597 the desireH4261 of their eyes,H5869 and that whereupon they setH4853 their minds,H5315 their sonsH1121 and their daughters,H1323 [26] [That] he that escapethH6412 in that dayH3117 shall comeH935(QalImpf) unto thee, to cause [thee] to hearH2045 [it] with [thine] ears?H241 [27] In that dayH3117 shall thy mouthH6310 be openedH6605(NiphImpf) to him which is escaped,H6412 and thou shalt speak,H1696(PielImpf) and be no more dumb:H481(NiphImpf) and thou shalt be a signH4159 unto them; and they shall knowH3045(QalPerf) that I [am] the Lord.H3068
