[1] Then Joseph couldn’t control himself before all those who stood before him, and he called out, “Cause everyone to go out from me!” No one else stood with him, while Joseph made himself known to his brothers. [2] He wept aloud. The Egyptians heard, and the house of Pharaoh heard. [3] Joseph said to his brothers, “I am Joseph! Does my father still live?”His brothers couldn’t answer him; for they were terrified at his presence. [4] Joseph said to his brothers, “Come near to me, please.”They came near. He said, “I am Joseph, your brother, whom you sold into Egypt. [5] Now don’t be grieved, nor angry with yourselves, that you sold me here, for God sent me before you to preserve life. [6] For these two years the famine has been in the land, and there are yet five years, in which there will be no plowing and no harvest. [7] God sent me before you to preserve for you a remnant in the earth, and to save you alive by a great deliverance. [8] So now it wasn’t you who sent me here, but God, and he has made me a father to Pharaoh, lord of all his house, and ruler over all the land of Egypt. [9] Hurry, and go up to my father, and tell him, ‘This is what your son Joseph says, “God has made me lord of all Egypt. Come down to me. Don’t wait. [10] You shall dwell in the land of Goshen, and you will be near to me, you, your children, your children’s children, your flocks, your herds, and all that you have. [11] There I will provide for you; for there are yet five years of famine; lest you come to poverty, you, and your household, and all that you have.” ’ [12] Behold, your eyes see, and the eyes of my brother Benjamin, that it is my mouth that speaks to you. [13] You shall tell my father of all my glory in Egypt, and of all that you have seen. You shall hurry and bring my father down here.” [14] He fell on his brother Benjamin’s neck and wept, and Benjamin wept on his neck. [15] He kissed all his brothers, and wept on them. After that his brothers talked with him. [16] The report of it was heard in Pharaoh’s house, saying, “Joseph’s brothers have come.” It pleased Pharaoh well, and his servants. [17] Pharaoh said to Joseph, “Tell your brothers, ‘Do this: Load your animals, and go, travel to the land of Canaan. [18] Take your father and your households, and come to me, and I will give you the good of the land of Egypt, and you will eat the fat of the land.’ [19] Now you are commanded to do this: Take wagons out of the land of Egypt for your little ones, and for your wives, and bring your father, and come. [20] Also, don’t concern yourselves about your belongings, for the good of all the land of Egypt is yours.” [21] The sons of Israel did so. Joseph gave them wagons, according to the commandment of Pharaoh, and gave them provision for the way. [22] He gave each one of them changes of clothing, but to Benjamin he gave three hundred pieces of silver and five changes of clothing. [23] He sent the following to his father: ten donkeys loaded with the good things of Egypt, and ten female donkeys loaded with grain and bread and provision for his father by the way. [24] So he sent his brothers away, and they departed. He said to them, “See that you don’t quarrel on the way.” [25] They went up out of Egypt, and came into the land of Canaan, to Jacob their father. [26] They told him, saying, “Joseph is still alive, and he is ruler over all the land of Egypt.” His heart fainted, for he didn’t believe them. [27] They told him all the words of Joseph, which he had said to them. When he saw the wagons which Joseph had sent to carry him, the spirit of Jacob, their father, revived. [28] Israel said, “It is enough. Joseph my son is still alive. I will go and see him before I die.”

[1] Then JosephH3130 couldH3201(QalPerf) not refrainH662(HithInf) himself before all them that stoodH5324(NiphPtc) by him; and he cried,H7121(QalImpf) CauseH3318 every manH376 to go outH3318(HiphImpv) from me. And there stoodH5975(QalPerf) no manH376 with him, while JosephH3130 made himself knownH3045(HithInf) unto his brethren.H251 [2] And he weptH6963 aloud:H5414(QalImpf) and the EgyptiansH4714 and the houseH1004 of PharaohH6547 heard.H8085(QalImpf) [3] And JosephH3130 saidH559(QalImpf) unto his brethren,H251 I [am] Joseph;H3130 doth my fatherH1 yet live?H2416 And his brethrenH251 couldH3201(QalPerf) not answerH6030(QalInf) him; for they were troubledH926(NiphPerf) at his presence.H6440 [4] And JosephH3130 saidH559(QalImpf) unto his brethren,H251 Come nearH5066(QalImpv) to me, I pray you. And they came near.H5066(QalImpf) And he said,H559(QalImpf) I [am] JosephH3130 your brother,H251 whom ye soldH4376(QalPerf) into Egypt.H4714 [5] Now therefore be not grieved,H6087(NiphImpf) nor angryH2734(QalImpf) with yourselves,H5869 that ye soldH4376(QalPerf) me hither: for GodH430 did sendH7971(QalPerf) me before youH6440 to preserve life.H4241 [6] For these two yearsH8141 [hath] the famineH7458 [been] inH7130 the land:H776 and yet [there are] fiveH2568 years,H8141 in the which [there shall] neitherH369 [be] earingH2758 nor harvest.H7105 [7] And GodH430 sentH7971(QalImpf) me before youH6440 to preserveH7760(QalInf) you a posterityH7611 in the earth,H776 and to save your livesH2421(HiphInf) by a greatH1419 deliverance.H6413 [8] So now [it was] not you [that] sentH7971(QalPerf) me hither, but God:H430 and he hath madeH7760(QalImpf) me a fatherH1 to Pharaoh,H6547 and lordH113 of all his house,H1004 and a rulerH4910(QalActPtc) throughout all the landH776 of Egypt.H4714 [9] HasteH4116(PielImpv) ye, and go upH5927(QalImpv) to my father,H1 and sayH559(QalPerf) unto him, Thus saithH559(QalPerf) thy sonH1121 Joseph,H3130 GodH430 hath madeH7760(QalPerf) me lordH113 of all Egypt:H4714 come downH3381(QalImpv) unto me, tarryH5975(QalImpf) not: [10] And thou shalt dwellH3427(QalPerf) in the landH776 of Goshen,H1657 and thou shalt be nearH7138 unto me, thou, and thy children,H1121 and thy children’sH1121 children,H1121 and thy flocks,H6629 and thy herds,H1241 and all that thou hast: [11] And there will I nourishH3557(PilpPerf) thee; for yet [there are] fiveH2568 yearsH8141 of famine;H7458 lest thou, and thy household,H1004 and all that thou hast, come to poverty.H3423(NiphImpf) [12] And, behold, your eyesH5869 see,H7200(QalActPtc) and the eyesH5869 of my brotherH251 Benjamin,H1144 that [it is] my mouthH6310 that speakethH1696(PielPtc) unto you. [13] And ye shall tellH5046(HiphPerf) my fatherH1 of all my gloryH3519 in Egypt,H4714 and of all that ye have seen;H7200(QalPerf) and ye shall hasteH4116(PielPerf) and bring downH3381(HiphPerf) my fatherH1 hither. [14] And he fellH5307(QalImpf) upon his brotherH251 Benjamin’sH1144 neck,H6677 and wept;H1058(QalImpf) and BenjaminH1144 weptH1058(QalPerf) upon his neck.H6677 [15] Moreover he kissedH5401(PielImpf) all his brethren,H251 and weptH1058(QalImpf) upon them: and afterH310 that his brethrenH251 talkedH1696(PielPerf) with him. [16] And the fameH6963 thereof was heardH8085(NiphPerf) in Pharaoh’sH6547 house,H1004 saying,H559(QalInf) Joseph’sH3130 brethrenH251 are come:H935(QalPerf) and it pleasedH3190 PharaohH6547 well,H3190(QalImpf) andH5869 his servants.H5650 [17] And PharaohH6547 saidH559(QalImpf) unto Joseph,H3130 SayH559(QalImpv) unto thy brethren,H251 This doH6213(QalImpv) ye; ladeH2943(QalImpv) your beasts,H1165 and go,H3212(QalImpv) getH935(QalImpv) you unto the landH776 of Canaan;H3667 [18] And takeH3947(QalImpv) your fatherH1 and your households,H1004 and comeH935(QalImpv) unto me: and I will giveH5414(QalImpf) you the goodH2898 of the landH776 of Egypt,H4714 and ye shall eatH398(QalImpv) the fatH2459 of the land.H776 [19] Now thou art commanded,H6680(PualPerf) this doH6213(QalImpv) ye; takeH3947(QalImpv) you wagonsH5699 out of the landH776 of EgyptH4714 for your little ones,H2945 and for your wives,H802 and bringH5375(QalPerf) your father,H1 and come.H935(QalPerf) [20] AlsoH5869 regardH2347(QalImpf) not your stuff;H3627 for the goodH2898 of all the landH776 of EgyptH4714 [is] yours. [21] And the childrenH1121 of IsraelH3478 didH6213(QalImpf) so: and JosephH3130 gaveH5414(QalImpf) them wagons,H5699 according to the commandmentH6310 of Pharaoh,H6547 and gaveH5414(QalImpf) them provisionH6720 for the way.H1870 [22] To all of them he gaveH5414(QalPerf) each manH376 changesH2487 of raiment;H8071 but to BenjaminH1144 he gaveH5414(QalPerf) threeH7969 hundredH3967 [pieces] of silver,H3701 and fiveH2568 changesH2487 of raiment.H8071 [23] And to his fatherH1 he sentH7971(QalPerf) after thisH2063 [manner]; tenH6235 assesH860 ladenH5375(QalActPtc) with the good thingsH2898 of Egypt,H4714 and tenH6235 she assesH2543 ladenH5375(QalActPtc) with cornH1250 and breadH3899 and meatH4202 for his fatherH1 by the way.H1870 [24] So he sentH7971 his brethrenH251 away,H7971(PielImpf) and they departed:H3212(QalImpf) and he saidH559(QalImpf) unto them, See that ye fall not outH7264(QalImpf) by the way.H1870 [25] And they went upH5927(QalImpf) out of Egypt,H4714 and cameH935(QalImpf) into the landH776 of CanaanH3667 unto JacobH3290 their father,H1 [26] And toldH5046(HiphImpf) him, saying,H559(QalInf) JosephH3130 [is] yet alive,H2416 and he [is] governorH4910(QalActPtc) over all the landH776 of Egypt.H4714 And Jacob’s heartH3820 fainted,H6313(QalImpf) for he believedH539(HiphPerf) them not. [27] And they toldH1696(PielImpf) him all the wordsH1697 of Joseph,H3130 which he had saidH1696(PielPerf) unto them: and when he sawH7200(QalImpf) the wagonsH5699 which JosephH3130 had sentH7971(QalPerf) to carryH5375(QalInf) him, the spiritH7307 of JacobH3290 their fatherH1 revived:H2421(QalImpf) [28] And IsraelH3478 said,H559(QalImpf) [It is] enough;H7227 JosephH3130 my sonH1121 [is] yet alive:H2416 I will goH3212(QalImpf) and see himH7200(QalImpf) before I die.H4191(QalImpf)
