[1] But Saul, still breathing threats and slaughter against the disciples of the Lord, went to the high priest [2] and asked for letters from him to the synagogues of Damascus, that if he found any who were of the Way, whether men or women, he might bring them bound to Jerusalem. [3] As he traveled, he got close to Damascus, and suddenly a light from the sky shone around him. [4] He fell on the earth, and heard a voice saying to him, “Saul, Saul, why do you persecute me?” [5] He said, “Who are you, Lord?”The Lord said, “I am Jesus, whom you are persecuting.‡ [6] But‡ rise up and enter into the city, then you will be told what you must do.” [7] The men who traveled with him stood speechless, hearing the sound, but seeing no one. [8] Saul arose from the ground, and when his eyes were opened, he saw no one. They led him by the hand and brought him into Damascus. [9] He was without sight for three days, and neither ate nor drank. [10] Now there was a certain disciple at Damascus named Ananias. The Lord said to him in a vision, “Ananias!”He said, “Behold, it’s me, Lord.” [11] The Lord said to him, “Arise and go to the street which is called Straight, and inquire in the house of Judah§ for one named Saul, a man of Tarsus. For behold, he is praying, [12] and in a vision he has seen a man named Ananias coming in and laying his hands on him, that he might receive his sight.” [13] But Ananias answered, “Lord, I have heard from many about this man, how much evil he did to your saints at Jerusalem. [14] Here he has authority from the chief priests to bind all who call on your name.” [15] But the Lord said to him, “Go your way, for he is my chosen vessel to bear my name before the nations and kings, and the children of Israel. [16] For I will show him how many things he must suffer for my name’s sake.” [17] Ananias departed and entered into the house. Laying his hands on him, he said, “Brother Saul, the Lord, who appeared to you on the road by which you came, has sent me that you may receive your sight and be filled with the Holy Spirit.” [18] Immediately something like scales fell from his eyes, and he received his sight. He arose and was baptized. [19] He took food and was strengthened.Saul stayed several days with the disciples who were at Damascus. [20] Immediately in the synagogues he proclaimed the Christ, that he is the Son of God. [21] All who heard him were amazed, and said, “Isn’t this he who in Jerusalem made havoc of those who called on this name? And he had come here intending to bring them bound before the chief priests!” [22] But Saul increased more in strength, and confounded the Jews who lived at Damascus, proving that this is the Christ. [23] When many days were fulfilled, the Jews conspired together to kill him, [24] but their plot became known to Saul. They watched the gates both day and night that they might kill him, [25] but his disciples took him by night and let him down through the wall, lowering him in a basket. [26] When Saul had come to Jerusalem, he tried to join himself to the disciples; but they were all afraid of him, not believing that he was a disciple. [27] But Barnabas took him and brought him to the apostles, and declared to them how he had seen the Lord on the way, and that he had spoken to him, and how at Damascus he had preached boldly in the name of Jesus. [28] He was with them entering into‡ Jerusalem, [29] preaching boldly in the name of the Lord Jesus.‡ He spoke and disputed against the Hellenists,ⓘ but they were seeking to kill him. [30] When the brothers§ knew it, they brought him down to Caesarea and sent him off to Tarsus. [31] So the assemblies throughout all Judea, Galilee, and Samaria had peace and were built up. They were multiplied, walking in the fear of the Lord and in the comfort of the Holy Spirit. [32] As Peter went throughout all those parts, he came down also to the saints who lived at Lydda. [33] There he found a certain man named Aeneas, who had been bedridden for eight years because he was paralyzed. [34] Peter said to him, “Aeneas, Jesus Christ heals you. Get up and make your bed!” Immediately he arose. [35] All who lived at Lydda and in Sharon saw him, and they turned to the Lord. [36] Now there was at Joppa a certain disciple named Tabitha, which when translated means Dorcas.ⓘ This woman was full of good works and acts of mercy which she did. [37] In those days, she became sick and died. When they had washed her, they laid her in an upper room. [38] As Lydda was near Joppa, the disciples, hearing that Peter was there, sent two men‡ to him, imploring him not to delay in coming to them. [39] Peter got up and went with them. When he had come, they brought him into the upper room. All the widows stood by him weeping, and showing the tunics and other garments which Dorcas had made while she was with them. [40] Peter sent them all out, and knelt down and prayed. Turning to the body, he said, “Tabitha, get up!” She opened her eyes, and when she saw Peter, she sat up. [41] He gave her his hand and raised her up. Calling the saints and widows, he presented her alive. [42] This became known throughout all Joppa, and many believed in the Lord. [43] He stayed many days in Joppa with a tanner named Simon.

AndG1161 the menG435 whichG3588 journeyedG4922(PresActPtc) with himG846 stoodG2476(PlupfActInd) speechless,G1769 hearingG191(PresActPtc) a voice,G5456 butG1161 seeingG2334(PresActPtc) no man.G3367 [8] saidG2036(Aor2ActInd) the LordG2962 inG1722 a vision,G3705 Ananias.G367 AndG1161 he said,G2036(Aor2ActInd) Behold,G2400(Aor2ActImpr) IG1473 [am here], Lord.G2962 [11] AndG1161 the LordG2962 [said] untoG4314 him,G846 Arise,G450(Aor2ActPtc) and goG4198(AorPasDepImpr) intoG1909 the streetG4505 whichG3588 is calledG2564(PresPasPtc) Straight,G2117 andG2532 enquireG2212(AorActImpr) inG1722 the ThenG1161 AnaniasG367 answered,G611(AorMidDepInd) Lord,G2962 I have heardG191(Perf2ActInd) byG575 manyG4183 ofG4012 thisG5127 man,G435 how muchG3745 evilG2556 he hath doneG4160(AorActInd) to thyG4675 saintsG40 atG1722 Jerusalem:G2419 [14] AndG2532 hereG5602 he hathG2192(PresActInd) authorityG1849 fromG3844 the chief priestsG749 to bindG1210(AorActInf) allG3956 that callG1941(PresMidPtc) on to bearG941(AorActInf) myG3450 nameG3686 beforeG1799 the Gentiles,G1484 andG2532 kings,G935 andG5037 the childrenG5207 of Israel:G2474 [16] ForG1063 IG1473 will shewG5263(FutActInd) himG846 how great thingsG3745 heG846 mustG1163(PresInd) sufferG3958(Aor2ActInf) forG5228 myG3450 name’s sake.G3686 [17] AndG1161 AnaniasG367 went his way,G565(Aor2ActInd) andG2532 enteredG1525(Aor2ActInd) intoG1519 the house;G3614 andG2532 puttingG2007(Aor2ActPtc) his handsG5495 onG1909 himG846 said,G2036(Aor2ActInd) BrotherG80 Saul,G4549 the Lord,G2962 [even] Jesus,G2424 that appearedG3700(AorPasPtc) unto theeG4671 inG1722 the wayG3598 asG3739 thou camest,G2064(ImpfMidPasDepInd) hath sentG649(PerfActInd) me,G3165 thatG3704 thou mightest receive thy sight,G308(AorActSubj) andG2532 be filled withG4130(AorPasSubj) the HolyG40 Ghost.G4151 [18] AndG2532 immediatelyG2112 there fellG634(Aor2ActInd) fromG575 hisG846 eyesG3788 asG5616 it had been scales:G3013 and he received sightG308(AorActInd) forthwith,G3916 andG5037 arose,G450(Aor2ActPtc) andG2532 was baptized.G907(AorPasInd) [19] AndG2532 when he had receivedG2983(Aor2ActPtc) meat,G5160 he was strengthened.G1765(AorActInd) ThenG1161 wasG1096(Aor2MidDepInd) SaulG4569 certainG5100 daysG2250 withG3326 the disciplesG3101 which were atG1722 Damascus.G1154 [20] AndG2532 straightwayG2112 he preachedG2784(ImpfActInd) ChristG5547 inG1722 the synagogues,G4864 thatG3754 heG3778 isG2076(PresInd) the SonG5207 of God.G2316 [21] ButG1161 allG3956 that heardG191(PresActPtc) [him] were amazed,G1839(ImpfMidInd) andG2532 said;G3004(ImpfActInd) IsG2076(PresInd) notG3756 thisG3778 he that destroyedG4199(AorActPtc) them whichG3588 called onG1941(PresMidPtc) thisG5124 nameG3686 inG1722 Jerusalem,G2419 andG2532 cameG2064(PlupfActInd) hitherG5602 forG1519 thatG5124 intent,G1519 thatG2443 he might bringG71(Aor2ActSubj) themG846 boundG1210(PerfPasPtc) untoG1909 the chief priests?G749 [22] ButG1161 SaulG4569 increasedG1743 the moreG3123 in strength,G1743(ImpfPasInd) andG2532 confoundedG4797(ImpfActInd) the JewsG2453 whichG3588 dweltG2730(PresActPtc) atG1722 Damascus,G1154 provingG4822(PresActPtc) thatG3754 thisG3778 isG2076(PresInd) very Christ.G5547 [23] AndG1161 afterG5613 that manyG2425 daysG2250 were fulfilled,G4137(ImpfPasInd) the JewsG2453 took counselG4823(AorMidInd) to killG337(Aor2ActInf) him:G846 [24] ButG1161 theirG846 laying awaitG1917 was knownG1097(AorPasInd) of Saul.G4569 AndG5037 they watchedG3906(ImpfActInd) the gatesG4439 dayG2250 andG2532 nightG3571 toG3704 killG337(AorActSubj) him.G846 [25] ThenG1161 the disciplesG3101 tookG2983(Aor2ActPtc) himG846 by night,G3571 and let [him] downG2524(AorActInd) byG1223 the wallG5038 inG1722 a basket.G4711 [26] AndG1161 when SaulG4569 was comeG3854(Aor2MidDepPtc) toG1519 Jerusalem,G2419 he assayedG3987(ImpfMidPasDepInd) to join himselfG2853(PresPasInf) to the disciples:G3101 butG2532 they wereG5399 allG3956 afraidG5399(ImpfMidPasDepInd) of him,G846 and believedG4100(PresActPtc) notG3361 thatG3754 he wasG2076(PresInd) a disciple.G3101 [27] ButG1161 BarnabasG921 tookG1949(Aor2MidDepPtc) him,G846 and broughtG71(Aor2ActInd) [him] toG4314 the apostles,G652 andG2532 declaredG1334(AorMidDepInd) unto themG846 howG4459 he had seenG1492(Aor2ActInd) the LordG2962 inG1722 the way,G3598 andG2532 thatG3754 he had spokenG2980(AorActInd) to him,G846 andG2532 howG4459 he had preached boldlyG3955(AorMidDepInd) atG1722 DamascusG1154 inG1722 the nameG3686 of Jesus.G2424 [28] AndG2532 he wasG2258(ImpfInd) withG3326 themG846 coming inG1531(PresMidPasDepPtc) andG2532 going outG1607(PresMidPasDepPtc) atG1722 Jerusalem.G2419 [29] AndG2532 he spakeG2980(ImpfActInd) boldlyG3955(PresMidPasDepPtc) inG1722 the nameG3686 of the LordG2962 Jesus,G2424 andG5037 disputedG4802(ImpfActInd) againstG4314 the Grecians:G1675 butG1161 they went aboutG2021(ImpfActInd) to slayG337(Aor2ActInf) him.G846 [30] [Which] whenG1161 the brethrenG80 knew,G1921(Aor2ActPtc) they broughtG2609 himG846 downG2609(Aor2ActInd) toG1519 Caesarea,G2542 andG2532 sentG1821 himG846 forthG1821(AorActInd) toG1519 Tarsus.G5019 [31] ThenG3303 hadG2192(ImpfActInd) the churchesG1577 restG1515 throughoutG2596 allG3650 JudaeaG2449 andG2532 GalileeG1056 andG2532 Samaria,G4540 and were edified;G3618(PresPasPtc) andG2532 walking inG4198(PresMidPasDepPtc) the fearG5401 of the Lord,G2962 andG2532 in the comfortG3874 of the HolyG40 Ghost,G4151 were multiplied.G4129(ImpfPasInd) [32] AndG1161 it cameG1096(Aor2MidDepInd) to pass, asG1330 PeterG4074 passed throughoutG1330(PresMidPasDepPtc) allG3956 [quarters], he came downG2718(Aor2ActInf) alsoG2532 toG4314 the saintsG40 whichG3588 dweltG2730(PresActPtc) at Lydda.G3069 [33] AndG1161 thereG1563 he foundG2147(Aor2ActInd) a certainG5100 manG444 namedG3686 Aeneas,G132 which had keptG2621(PresMidPasDepPtc) his bedG2895 eightG3638 years,G2094 andG3739 wasG2258(ImpfInd) sick of the palsy.G3886(PerfPasPtc) [34] AndG2532 PeterG4074 saidG2036(Aor2ActInd) unto him,G846 Aeneas,G132 JesusG2424 ChristG5547 makethG2390 theeG4571 whole:G2390(PresMidPasDepInd) arise,G450(Aor2ActImpr) andG2532 makeG4766 thyG4572 bed.G4766(AorActImpr) AndG2532 he aroseG450(Aor2ActInd) immediately.G2112 [35] AndG2532 allG3956 that dweltG2730(PresActPtc) at LyddaG3069 andG2532 SaronG4565 sawG1492(Aor2ActInd) him,G846 andG3748 turnedG1994(AorActInd) toG1909 the Lord.G2962 [36] NowG1161 there wasG2258(ImpfInd) atG1722 JoppaG2445 a certainG5100 discipleG3102 namedG3686 Tabitha,G5000 whichG3739 by interpretationG1329(PresPasPtc) is calledG3004(PresPasInd) Dorcas:G1393 this womanG3778 wasG2258(ImpfInd) fullG4134 of goodG18 worksG2041 andG2532 almsdeedsG1654 whichG3739 she did.G4160(ImpfActInd) [37] AndG1161 it came to passG1096(Aor2MidDepInd) inG1722 thoseG1565 days,G2250 that she was sick,G770(AorActPtc) and died:G599(Aor2ActInf) whom whenG1161 theyG846 had washed,G3068(AorActPtc) they laidG5087(AorActInd) [her] inG1722 an upper chamber.G5253 [38] AndG1161 forasmuch asG5607(PresPtc) LyddaG3069 was nighG1451 to Joppa,G2445 and the disciplesG3101 had heardG191(AorActPtc) thatG3754 PeterG4074 wasG2076(PresInd) there,G1722 they sentG649(AorActInd) untoG4314 himG846 twoG1417 men,G435 desiringG3870(PresActPtc) [him] that he wouldG3635 notG3361 delayG3635(AorActInf) to comeG1330(Aor2ActInf) toG2193 them.G846 [39] ThenG1161 PeterG4074 aroseG450(Aor2ActPtc) and went withG4905(Aor2ActInd) them.G846 When heG3739 was come,G3854(Aor2MidDepPtc) they brought himG321(Aor2ActInd) intoG1519 the upper chamber:G5253 andG2532 allG3956 the widowsG5503 stood byG3936(AorActInd) himG846 weeping,G2799(PresActPtc) andG2532 shewingG1925(PresMidPtc) the coatsG5509 andG2532 garmentsG2440 whichG3745 DorcasG1393 made,G4160(ImpfActInd) while she wasG5607(PresPtc) withG3326 them.G846 [40] ButG1161 PeterG4074 putG1544(Aor2ActPtc) them allG3956 forth,G1854 and kneeled down,G5087(Aor2ActPtc) and prayed;G4336(AorMidDepInd) andG2532 turningG1994(AorActPtc) [him] toG4314 the bodyG4983 said,G2036(Aor2ActInd) Tabitha,G5000 arise.G450(Aor2ActImpr) AndG1161 she openedG455(AorActInd) herG846 eyes:G3788 andG2532 when she sawG1492(Aor2ActPtc) Peter,G4074 she sat up.G339(AorActInd) [41] AndG1161 he gaveG1325(Aor2ActPtc) herG846 [his] hand,G5495 and liftedG450 herG846 up,G450(AorActInd) andG1161 when he had calledG5455(AorActPtc) the saintsG40 andG2532 widows,G5503 presentedG3936(AorActInd) herG846 alive.G2198(PresActPtc) [42] AndG1161 it wasG1096(Aor2MidDepInd) knownG1110 throughoutG2596 allG3650 Joppa;G2445 andG2532 manyG4183 believedG4100(AorActInd) inG1909 the Lord.G2962 [43] AndG1161 it came to pass,G1096(Aor2MidDepInd) that
