For the Chief Musician. A Psalm by David. A song.

Let God arise!
Let his enemies be scattered!
Let them who hate him also flee before him.
[2] As smoke is driven away,
so drive them away.
As wax melts before the fire,
so let the wicked perish at the presence of God.
[3] But let the righteous be glad.
Let them rejoice before God.
Yes, let them rejoice with gladness.
[4] Sing to God! Sing praises to his name!
Extol him who rides on the clouds:
to Yah, his name!
Rejoice before him!
[5] A father of the fatherless, and a defender of the widows,
is God in his holy habitation.
[6] God sets the lonely in families.
He brings out the prisoners with singing,
but the rebellious dwell in a sun-scorched land.
[7] God, when you went out before your people,
when you marched through the wilderness…
Selah.
[8] The earth trembled.
The sky also poured down rain at the presence of the God of Sinai—
at the presence of God, the God of Israel.
[9] You, God, sent a plentiful rain.
You confirmed your inheritance when it was weary.
[10] Your congregation lived therein.
You, God, prepared your goodness for the poor.
[11] The Lord announced the word.
The ones who proclaim it are a great company.
[12] “Kings of armies flee! They flee!”
She who waits at home divides the plunder,
[13] while you sleep among the camp fires,
the wings of a dove sheathed with silver,
her feathers with shining gold.
[14] When the Almighty scattered kings in her,
it snowed on Zalmon.
[15] The mountains of Bashan are majestic mountains.
The mountains of Bashan are rugged.
[16] Why do you look in envy, you rugged mountains,
at the mountain where God chooses to reign?
Yes, Yahweh will dwell there forever.
[17] The chariots of God are tens of thousands and thousands of thousands.
The Lord is among them, from Sinai, into the sanctuary.
[18] You have ascended on high.
You have led away captives.
You have received gifts among people,
yes, among the rebellious also, that Yah God might dwell there.
[19] Blessed be the Lord, who daily bears our burdens,
even the God who is our salvation.
Selah.
[20] God is to us a God of deliverance.
To Yahweh, the Lord, belongs escape from death.
[21] But God will strike through the head of his enemies,
the hairy scalp of such a one as still continues in his guiltiness.
[22] The Lord said, “I will bring you again from Bashan,
I will bring you again from the depths of the sea,
[23] that you may crush them, dipping your foot in blood,
that the tongues of your dogs may have their portion from your enemies.”
[24] They have seen your processions, God,
even the processions of my God, my King, into the sanctuary.
[25] The singers went before, the minstrels followed after,
among the ladies playing with tambourines,
[26] “Bless God in the congregations,
even the Lord in the assembly of Israel!”
[27] There is little Benjamin, their ruler,
the princes of Judah, their council,
the princes of Zebulun, and the princes of Naphtali.
[28] Your God has commanded your strength.
Strengthen, God, that which you have done for us.
[29] Because of your temple at Jerusalem,
kings shall bring presents to you.
[30] Rebuke the wild animal of the reeds,
the multitude of the bulls with the calves of the peoples.
Trample under foot the bars of silver.
Scatter the nations who delight in war.
[31] Princes shall come out of Egypt.
Ethiopia shall hurry to stretch out her hands to God.
[32] Sing to God, you kingdoms of the earth!
Sing praises to the Lord—
Selah—
[33] to him who rides on the heaven of heavens, which are of old;
behold, he utters his voice, a mighty voice.
[34] Ascribe strength to God!
His excellency is over Israel,
his strength is in the skies.
[35] You are awesome, God, in your sanctuaries.
The God of Israel gives strength and power to his people.
Praise be to God!

To the chief Musician,H5329(PielPtc) A PsalmH4210 [or] SongH7892 of David.H1732

Let GodH430 arise,H6965(QalImpf) let his enemiesH341(QalActPtc) be scattered:H6327(QalImpf) let them also that hateH8130(PielPtc) him fleeH5127(QalImpf) beforeH6440 him.
[2] As smokeH6227 is driven away,H5086(NiphInf) [so] drive [them] away:H5086(QalImpf) as waxH1749 meltethH4549(NiphInf) beforeH6440 the fire,H784 [so] let the wickedH7563 perishH6(QalImpf) at the presenceH6440 of God.H430 [3] But let the righteousH6662 be glad;H8055(QalImpf) let them rejoiceH5970(QalImpf) beforeH6440 God:H430 yea, let them exceedinglyH8057 rejoice.H7797(QalImpf) [4] SingH7891(QalImpv) unto God,H430 sing praisesH2167(PielImpv) to his name:H8034 extolH5549(QalImpv) him that ridethH7392(QalActPtc) upon the heavensH6160 by his nameH8034 JAH,H3050 and rejoiceH5937(QalImpv) beforeH6440 him. [5] A fatherH1 of the fatherless,H3490 and a judgeH1781 of the widows,H490 [is] GodH430 in his holyH6944 habitation.H4583 [6] GodH430 settethH3427(HiphPtc) the solitaryH3173 in families:H1004 he bringeth outH3318(HiphPtc) those which are boundH615 with chains:H3574 but the rebelliousH5637(QalActPtc) dwellH7931(QalPerf) in a dryH6707 [land]. [7] O God,H430 when thou wentest forthH3318(QalInf) beforeH6440 thy people,H5971 when thou didst marchH6805(QalInf) through the wilderness;H3452 Selah:H5542 [8] The earthH776 shook,H7493(QalPerf) the heavensH8064 also droppedH5197(QalPerf) at the presenceH6440 of God:H430 [even] SinaiH5514 itselfH2088 [was moved] at the presenceH6440 of God,H430 the GodH430 of Israel.H3478 [9] Thou, O God,H430 didst sendH5130(HiphImpf) a plentifulH5071 rain,H1653 whereby thou didst confirmH3559(PolePerf) thine inheritance,H5159 when it was weary.H3811(NiphPerf) [10] Thy congregationH2416 hath dweltH3427(QalPerf) therein: thou, O God,H430 hast preparedH3559(HiphImpf) of thy goodnessH2896 for the poor.H6041 [11] The LordH136 gaveH5414(QalImpf) the word:H562 greatH7227 [was] the companyH6635 of those that publishedH1319(PielPtc) [it]. [12] KingsH4428 of armiesH6635 did fleeH5074(QalImpf) apace:H5074(QalImpf) and she that tarriedH5116 at homeH1004 dividedH2505(PielImpf) the spoil.H7998 [13] Though ye have lienH7901(QalImpf) among the pots,H8240 [yet shall ye be as] the wingsH3671 of a doveH3123 coveredH2645(NiphPtc) with silver,H3701 and her feathersH84 with yellowH3422 gold.H2742 [14] When the AlmightyH7706 scatteredH6566(PielInf) kingsH4428 in it, it was [white] as snowH7949(HiphImpf) in Salmon.H6756 [15] The hillH2022 of GodH430 [is as] the hillH2022 of Bashan;H1316 an highH1386 hillH2022 [as] the hillH2022 of Bashan.H1316 [16] Why leapH7520(PielImpf) ye, ye highH1386 hills?H2022 [this is] the hillH2022 [which] GodH430 desirethH2530(QalPerf) to dwell in;H3427(QalInf) yea, the LordH3068 will dwellH7931(QalImpf) [in it] for ever.H5331 [17] The chariotsH7393 of GodH430 [are] twenty thousand,H7239 [even] thousandsH505 of angels:H8136 the LordH136 [is] among them, [as in] Sinai,H5514 in the holyH6944 [place]. [18] Thou hast ascendedH5927(QalPerf) on high,H4791 thou hast led captivityH7628 captive:H7617(QalPerf) thou hast receivedH3947(QalPerf) giftsH4979 for men;H120 yea, [for] the rebelliousH5637(QalActPtc) also, that the LordH3050 GodH430 might dwellH7931(QalInf) [among them]. [19] BlessedH1288(QalPasPtc) [be] the Lord,H136 [who] dailyH3117 loadethH6006(QalImpf) us [with benefits, even] the GodH410 of our salvation.H3444 Selah.H5542 [20] [He that is] our GodH410 [is] the GodH410 of salvation;H4190 and unto GodH3069 the LordH136 [belong] the issuesH8444 from death.H4194 [21] But GodH430 shall woundH4272(QalImpf) the headH7218 of his enemies,H341(QalActPtc) [and] the hairyH8181 scalpH6936 of such an one as goeth on stillH1980(HithPtc) in his trespasses.H817 [22] The LordH136 said,H559(QalPerf) I will bring againH7725(HiphImpf) from Bashan,H1316 I will bring [my people] againH7725(HiphImpf) from the depthsH4688 of the sea:H3220 [23] That thy footH7272 may be dippedH4272(QalImpf) in the bloodH1818 of [thine] enemies,H341(QalActPtc) [and] the tongueH3956 of thy dogsH3611 in the same. [24] They have seenH7200(QalPerf) thy goings,H1979 O God;H430 [even] the goingsH1979 of my God,H410 my King,H4428 in the sanctuary.H6944 [25] The singersH7891(QalActPtc) went before,H6923(PielPerf) the players on instrumentsH5059(QalActPtc) [followed] after;H310 amongH8432 [them were] the damselsH5959 playing with timbrels.H8608(QalActPtc) [26] BlessH1288(PielImpv) ye GodH430 in the congregations,H4721 [even] the Lord,H136 from the fountainH4726 of Israel.H3478 [27] There [is] littleH6810 BenjaminH1144 [with] their ruler,H7287(QalActPtc) the princesH8269 of JudahH3063 [and] their council,H7277 the princesH8269 of Zebulun,H2074 [and] the princesH8269 of Naphtali.H5321 [28] Thy GodH430 hath commandedH6680(PielPerf) thy strength:H5797 strengthen,H5810(QalImpv) O God,H430 that whichH2098 thou hast wroughtH6466(QalPerf) for us.
